Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach, A Trademark All Inclusive

The experience was horrible. My family was there to celebrate my niece’s graduation. When we arrived at the hotel there were no rooms available and waited about 2 hours before we got rooms. The rooms are basic, very basic and in need of an upgrade. There were comforters on the beds and we had to ask for them.||The shower was really crappy, water was usually not hot. Whenever we showered the entire bathroom floor got wet. They provide 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels per room. When we asked for washcloths we were told “ we don’t do washcloths”. The towels were old and dingy, no longer white from years of use. Some of the towels should be discarded and thrown out, no longer fit for human use. The hotel did not provide body wash.||The staff is in need of training/retraining. They seem to always be upset and behave as though they are annoyed by guests’ requests. Not sure if they understand that the hospitality industry is customer focused. Some dining room staff were rude. We were a group of 10, most nights the servers did not put the tables together to accommodate us but told us which tables we could put together. One night at dinner a staff member came up to our table and started sweeping while some of the group was at the buffet. A little later the server came up to me and asked me if I was still sitting; there was a guest standing behind him with a plate of food in her hand, apparently looking for a table. It was obvious that I was sitting with dessert in front of me. I felt that I was being rushed out of the dining room. ||There seems to be the expectation that guests are supposed to tip staff for service. I have no problem with tipping, I gladly tip for exceptional service, however I will not tip for service that is grudgingly provided. Most of the staff barely provide good service, nothing great, just the bare minimum.||The food left a lot to be desired. It was almost always cold, or room temperature at best. It was also sadly lacking in variety. Most days the same dishes were offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner.||One time I went to the snack bar and ordered a snack for a member of our group who was at the pool. I was told by a large lady that I could not take food out of the snack bar and that the food had to be consumed on premises. She kept following me around to make sure I did not leave with any food. I thought this was arbitrary since we had taken food out of the snack bar the day before.||There is a lot of room for improvement, the biggest area is staff response and engagement. ||I definitely will not be returning to this place.

I'm glad I went and would consider coming back in the future. Pro's The views from the rooms of the gorgeous pool and beach are fantastic! I don't get around well so the size of the resort was great for me. I also requested a room near the elevator which they honored. Always simple to get a chair by the pool or the beach. I appreciated that they had a designated smoking area outside of the lobby. Dale at the lobby bar is a class act. I didn't care to get hammered drunk but I enjoyed speaking with a Montego Bay native who was obviously trained well in beverage service. Most of the servers in the buffet restaurant were quite good. Con's Check-in system is very antiquated. Hard rule not to let anyone in before 3pm so everyone charges the desk at 3pm. Just dole out the rooms as inventory becomes available to avoid miserable crowds in the lobby. Housekeeping, when they did come, often would clean rooms that were still occupied before the ones that had just been vacated. Both of these issues should be addressed. My biggest complaint would be that there's a glaring lack of food and beverage management on hand certain nights. On both Saturday and Sunday night before 8:45pm, the buffet was completely out of any options that included meat. The restaurant was also a mess. This is totally unacceptable! Not claiming to be a 5 Star allows you to not have to serve as high end foods but doesn't allow for you to run out of food and staff not to care about it one bit. Why no blankets on the bed? My room was freezing and it took two days to get it warmed down. I caught a cold after the first day because of it. Please provide more than a sheet. I did my homework so I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I enjoyed mostly. I love meeting people from around the world which was easy and fun in a place that isn't too big. This resort has so much potential to do better and should stop just trying to get by.

We arrived on May 21st and checked out on May 24, 2025. On arrival, we were met with a very bright welcome from Tevin Campbell, who took our luggages and gave us the warmest welcome, and a few minutes later, he had two glasses of fruit punch. At the check-in counter, we were greeted with a happy smile from Konia Francis. There were some issues with our reservation, and the supervisor Anna Gaye was called to assist. It became a very long period because we were there for a conference, and there was a communication breakdown with reservation due to the language barrier at reservation. However, Tevin, Anna, and Konia we exceptionally professional, accommodating, caring, and empathetic during this 5 hours ordeal. When it was all resolved Anna walked us to our room herself and apologized for all the inconvenience. I want to say a special thank you to these three individuals especially and I hope management will see this to recognized them. The beach is beautiful!!!|||The other staff were friendly and very nice, shenee in the buffet was nice and the few of the waitresses were adorable, with the exception of the supervisor on the AM shift in the main buffet on the Montego side. The food was horrible and we had to be there early to be fed. How can a Jamaican resort mess up on Jerk chicken and Jerk pork(make that make sense!)|| The faucet were rusty and dirty in the bathroom, no wash cloth, the towels were dirty and smells horrible. Please, owners and management do better!!! I find it disrespectful to take guest money to such deplorable condition.

Very disappointed with this hotel stayed 20 April 2025 to 5th May. Here is the good news fantastic sea view with every room.|That’s all I can say on that front.Bad news 60% of the rooms had no hot water. We reported instantly the hot water issue, main light switch faulty cracked bathroom sink this was room 1416.Good news Dwain the reception manager arranged a room change two days later to room 1401 unfortunately once again no hot water for the next 11 days. |We reported it every time we walked past reception and to the Tui rep but neither did anything to make our stay more comfortable.|The food was average cold or dry, that seemed to be the trend in all the restaurants. So decided to eat out most evenings next door at the Ussan Bolt bar/restaurant. The staff in there very friendly and found the price good value. The beach bar ran out of beer, gin, tequila regularly throughout our 14 day stay. |Overall take lots of extra cash to tip staff seem to get better service only if you tip. Would not return to this hotel far too many guests smoking cannabis around the beach and in rooms. We placed a towel on the floor up against adjacent door to the next room, as we could smell the cannabis. There meant to be allocated smoking areas somewhere on the hotel grounds if so it’s totally ignored.|The smoke alarms in both rooms we occupied had the smoke alarms removed, and having asked lots of other guests, it was the same in many other rooms. This is against Tui policy and was very unacceptable, not to mention extremely dangerous in view of the above mentioned smoking.

The resort was amazing. The beach was clean, very clear water, the pool and sauna were amazing. Their staff were really amazing really showed they care. They have 24 hours security strategically placed around the resort so there's always a good feeling as it relates to safety. All u can eat buffet style restaurant, a grill and several bars. There's so much more to say but u have to really experience it for yourself, my time there with my wife was amazing .

This was my first time in Jamaica, and the resort is in a great location—close to the airport, with easy access to the beach and pool. It’s a nice setup for families with kids. But to be completely honest, we didn’t feel welcome at all. The staff seemed uninterested, like they didn’t really care, and at times it felt like we were invisible. Our room had an issue with the air conditioning, and when we reported it, it was brushed off as if it didn’t matter. Most of the staff came across as unhappy, even angry—like they didn’t want to be there. I’ve never experienced service this poor, especially at a vacation resort. It felt like you had to beg just to get basic help. Honestly, I was really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This was our second stay. Check in was lenghty as opposed to our previous stay. It took a full 3 hours this time around to check in and get assinged to a room. The room was clean, the staff were frinedly, the food was great, the buffet offered good vareity for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The snack bar was a convenient stop for a bite throughout the day as well. The grounds were well kept. Overall good experience minus the check in.

Hotel nice and clean, all rooms have sea view, Air conditioning worked we had hot running water and the pressure was good to. Bed nice and comfy, fridge not always filled up but when It was we got 2 cokes and 2 red strip, but we did get a big bottle of water a day put into our room. Food choice wasn't the best but we didn't starve, bottles of sprite often ran out at the bars, we take our own cups so could fill them up at the water stations. Coffee bar on floor 2 was so good, always managed to get a sun bed on the beach and plenty around the pool.All Staff were so friendly and helpful.
