Avoid this hotel at all costs—this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a resort.
From the moment we arrived at the Grand Decameron Montego Bay, it’s been a constant battle to get even the bare minimum. We asked for extra towels and pillows last night—it’s now 2 PM the next day, and I’m standing at the front desk asking again. Why are guests begging for basic items at a so-called resort?
The towels we were originally given were dingy and rough, and the room was in unacceptable condition. The bathtub was completely stopped up, after several calls someone came to fix it but when I requested for bleach to clean the tub, no one ever came. The tub is so dirty that I’ve been showering in shoes—yes, shoes.
The worst part? My elderly mother, who already has mobility issues, now has a rash all over her body, and we strongly suspect it’s from either the bedding or the towels. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness and hygiene.
Adding insult to injury, we were placed on the fourth floor with no elevator, despite clear accessibility needs. This resort is not accessible, not responsive, and not worth your money.
We missed hours of beach time waiting for a room that wasn’t even ready at the 4 PM check-in time. The manager on duty, Sam Smith, has yet to offer any meaningful resolution.
I will be uploading photos with this review, because the conditions we’ve experienced speak for themselves. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
