Royal Decameron Montego Beach

This was overall a good experience. The view was amazing. The staff was great The hotel is older, but reasonably kept up well, and classy looking. The food was good, mostly solid Caribbean flair. The drinks tend to be a bit watered down, but tasty none the less. I was struggling physically, and the property is not of a vintage to be ADA friendly. The staff went out of their way always to help our access. It was priced competitively, and a good value for the money. I would like to go back.

I had the most fun during my stay, I had the best view, food was great , the staff was amazing, the ambiance was a breath of fresh air. Every one was so respectful and polite, drinks and food all day. I LOVE IT!!!!! Shout out to RUSHEEK JACKSON she was our waitress, she was amazing, she took very good care of us. Shout out to the entertainment crew that keeps the vibes going all day, shout out to the bartenders. Everyone was just so hard at work. Fresh towels was provided daily, you have to bring your own washcloth. I definitely will be back Decameron.

Pros: Hotel is in a beautiful location right on the ocean. Also located very close to the airport. You have direct access to the ocean for snorkeling (recommend bringing equipment because gear is not available to rent) and paddle boarding (included). Also there are motorized boats and jet skis available to rent for a fee. Cons: Rooms and common areas are poorly maintained and should be renovated (bathroom shower tub was rusting, several lights and outlets in room didn’t work, room was outdated, etc). The hotel only has one restaurant option for dinner other than the buffet dining area which requires a reservation at front desk starting at 9 am (and therefore causes a competitive rush to get a reservation). There is another restaurant located at the adjacent property however reservations at that restaurant are only available when the hotels are not at full operating capacity. The food itself is pretty good at the restaurants for dinner but the buffet itself is average. Service is most of the time pretty good but certain staff members at the property were rude. Although location of hotel is great for airport and beach access, the area outside the hotel is not walkable at all despite being located in the hip strip. The area is a very busy road and is dirty/unsafe. Within seconds of walking outside, we were constantly harassed by locals to buy illicit substances or other typical tourist grab harassments (taxi offerings etc). Overall: In the winter time, this is an affordable place to go for warmth and sunshine, particularly for an all inclusive. Otherwise I would not consider this property.

The view was great but the rest of this place was horrible. The entertainment crew was very nice especially Zoe but the rest of the employees were rude and not helpful at all. The pool was nasty. The rooms were disgusting with mold and falling apart. Most of the food wasn't even edible. The dining area is open to the outside so everything was covered in flies. Omlets in the morning were good and they had a good pasta bar on the last day and the bread was good. They have a Jamaican specialty restaurant that. Won't be back to Jamaica any time soon and I will never go back to this place.

We were hesitant when booking after reading the reviews but I can tell you we enjoyed every single minute the staff was amazing the place is beautiful, the food was good the entertainment was awesome every single day and night ! The view alone is to die for . It's not a 5 star resort don't expect it to be if your use to all that. We cannot wait to return in the future.. we loved ever single minute of our stay !!

Rooms need to be updated! Food was ok but needed to be better. We didn’t get into our room for a couple of hours and it was not what we requested. Toilet didn’t work either. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming! We still had a great time and enjoyed many excursion adventures.

RUN RUN RUN This was my worst vacation experience in my entire life. This hotel needs to be shut down. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely filthy! The first room they gave us had me standing on a towel in the shower because of how filthy it was. Mould in the ceiling and walls and even on the drapes. Cracks and chips in the walls. We were transferred to another room which wasnt any better. Mould in the bathroom no shower curtain or shower door. The bathroom always seems to have a stench on urine. Always short on towels… housekeeping does not come everyday ,, we stayed for 10 days housekeeping came once. They are always short on utensils for eating.. the food is horrible and tasteless same thing everyday. Had me skipping meals. If i could give zero star I would. This hotel isn’t worth even one star!!

Everything is pretty good. There are some issues to speak of, though. They advertise that it is 2 resorts for 1 price, which for the most part is true, but when at capacity, the Cornwall side will turn you away for food and some activities. Be aware if you are planning excursions around activities at the resorts or are having friends or relatives on both sides. The staff are friendly and work hard, which sometimes can have them show some exhaustion, I do not fault them for that. The food is a good variety and is fresh, but there are complainers wherever you go.
