I absolutely loved my stay at the Royal Garden Hotel in London! The location is unbeatable—right across from Kensington Palace and just a short stroll from Kensington Gardens. I found myself wandering through the beautiful park almost every day, and it was such a treat to have this peaceful green space right on my doorstep. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean, and really comfortable. I especially appreciated the plush bedding and the lovely views—mine looked right out over the gardens. Waking up to that scenery made every morning feel special. Breakfast was a real highlight for me. The spread was generous, with so many delicious options to choose from, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. It set me up perfectly for a day of exploring. What really stood out, though, was how friendly and helpful the staff were. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived, and nothing was ever too much trouble. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in London. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury right in the heart of Kensington.

We were on a bit of a time crunch, so popped in here for a quick lunch simply because we were walking past. So pleased we did - beautiful restaurant area and they happily accommodated my toddler which some hotels in the past have been a little funny about. Food and service quick. Service faultless and friendy, food delicious. |Hotel itself seemed lovely and the time we are in London we will book a room here I think. The doorman was a credit to the establishment - so friendly and helpful.

A wonderful experience! The hotel was absolutely lovely, but what really made our stay special was Maria at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming — always smiling and attentive to every little detail. Even though she was busy with other guests, she made sure all our requests were taken care of. We truly appreciated her effort and positive attitude. Thank you, Maria, for making us feel at home!

Our annual sales conference was held at the Royal Garden Hotel and as we pulled into the driveway we knew it was going to be special by the vehicles parked in the valet.||My room on the 8th floor had a wonderful view of Kensington Palace and gardens. The bed was super comfortable and the room well equipped. ||The breakfast has a great selection and very professional but friendly staff.||The location of the hotel is right in the heart of shopping on High Street with plenty of variety for eating and drinking with the number of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.||Expensive, but the wonderful experience will keep people coming back time and time again.

Google
Fantastic service again from the amazing staff at this beautiful hotel. The staff members here are reliably excellent and always go above and beyond to ensure my family have the most wonderful stay in London. Additionally, they cater for my special dietary requirements which are very complex. This stay was particularly special as it was my daughter's birthday and she was made to feel like a princess. Thanks again to you all, we would not stay anywhere else in London. The Delaney family

Google
Great hotel. Loved the location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was great though a little small so moving about with 2 people was challenging. I would stay here again for its location and price point for the amenities you get.

I have been to Kensington many times, and I have always wanted to stay at the Royal Garden. This year, our family of six chose Royal Garden. Just as other reviewers have commented, the large, pleasant rooms have a pretty view of Kensington Palace and/or the park. Even the street view rooms were quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows and linens were five-star quality. We all really enjoyed the buffet breakfast (especially my young grandchildren). So many options, including my fave chia breakfast pudding with fresh berries. Of course, the kids loved the orange juice and sausages. I will never bypass Royal Garden again!

Google
The best hotel we have stayed in London in a long time! From the minute we walked through the door to the minute we left. The staff are first class, the room was high quality and immaculate. We enjoyed the turn down service even on a one night stay.|The location of the hotel is just perfect, right next door to Kensington Palace gardens, where we enjoyed lunch in The Orangery.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. The service here was exceptional, the food was amazing, and it's conveniently located. Walkable distance to everything! Amazing restaurants surrounding the hotel. Everybody was so friendly here from the valet to the room service . We loved the in room dining as well. So many vegan options. The vegan english breakfast was ordered every day lol. The tea time was amazing. They have a vegan menu as well. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Stayed here for 7 nights most recently and have no real complaints besides a few small things. Room was approx. $400/night. I thought the room was up-to date and had some modern decor/lighting including dedicated USB plugs (nice if you forgot your adapter). Bathroom was nice too with bathtub/shower unit...and most importantly good shower pressure. Room had an opening window as well as blackout curtains - important for blocking out light and getting a good nights sleep imo. A/C heat system was likewise new and worked well/unobtrusive. Had a palace facing "classic" which was nice - room was just slightly too small. If you're two people and staying for a week, you'll probably be fine or you can upgrade to a "deluxe" for slightly more money. Had breakfast a few times at Origins on the ground floor. Buffet was 28 pounds I believe (if you didn't get the breakfast package) which I thought was decent value...plus kids eat free. Not sure why this hotel is just 3.2 stars on Yelp currently. Staff were friendly and attentive, has a great location...only thing is maybe room was too small and maybe lack of other amenities at the hotel (for the price)? Giving it 4.5 stars. Would stay here again.

Yelp
I checked into Royal Garden Hotel last night at 6 pm into a hotel room where the heat didn't work. They sent maintenance up to fix the heat issue. I am jet-lagged so went to bed early. Woke up at 4 am to a room that was 16 degrees. Called the concierge who had maintenance come up and fix the issue again. The heat never really kicked on and at 5:30 am it was again freezing cold in the room. At this point, I'm pretty irritated. The concierge said he would transfer me to the front desk but left me on hold indefinitely. I tried to call back but the phone just kept ringing so I took myself downstairs to sort the issue out myself. They sent a repairman back up to the room to fix it. Nice guy. He felt bad about the situation and confirmed there was an issue with the heat which he felt he had now over-rided. I wasn't taking any chances and asked to move rooms. Management moved me to a new room which albeit bigger is so heavily scented that I have a headache and no palace view which is what I paid for. I contacted the company where I booked the room to see if they could intervene. It is now 6 am. I asked the company to see if they could organize a refund because it is obvious that I'm not going to be able to get any sleep because the rooms are sub-par. The management refuses to offer a refund because they feel they have moved me to a bigger room (without a view and with a strong scent). It is now almost 7 am. I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel, hoping my headache will subside waiting for my friend who is picking me up today to wake up and hopefully get me out of here before too long. I understand that maintenance issues happen but the customer service is really, really, really lacking!

Yelp
We had a very comfortable stay during very hot weather at this hotel, which we had the very good fortune to book "blind" using a third party site. Our room was immaculate and the service simply stellar (including checkin, help with bags, room service, maids, hailing cabs and concierge) our 6th floor room looked directly over Kensington Palace. The bath includes a really nice long tub (tall people rejoice) as well as shower. The hotel is an easy walk to Royal Albert Hall (for Proms-goers) and yo the tube and convenient shops. This is not a quaint hotel: the decor is modern and spare, but clean and well kept. The room has free wifi, a/c, fridge, safe, hair dryer, tea/coffee service, and a decent range of TV channels. Our lowest-of-the-low cost room was small but well designed. We found this to be a worthy home base for 8 peaceful nights.

Yelp
This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. I travel for work all around Europe and have never had such a terrible experience. To start my room was dirty, the water was open and drinkin by someone else (don't know who) then they give me 80£ for dinner to make up for it. That was a nice experience. Then I go to bed at about 10 pm because I've been traveling for 3 week and I'm exhausted. I'm woken up by a family next to me who had their children screaming running down the hallways and slamming doors. I came out of my room and asked them politely to be quiet and they continue to have no control over their children letting them run wild at 11:30 pm. I call the front desk, they come and the security guard is laughing when two other ppl came out from there pissed about the noise like how I was. The wife of the family said some raciest things and her husband shut her real quick and apologized to me. The security guard laughed because I'm white and they are all of the same race and think it's funny to gang up on a single white lady. The hotel refused to move the noise family when another man from across the hallway came out the door and asked them to be quiet as well. If this was a 5 star hotel, they would have removed this raciest loud family to another room and left us other 3 rooms to sleep in peace. But instead, they laughed at me, left them in their room next to mine and refused to move them. I WILL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS DIRTY RACIST DUMP HOTEL. The fact that they will let one family let 3 rooms not sleep because they are the same race is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Yelp
I was going to give it a one after receiving a crappy room upon arrival and, which felt like a sauna room (and was never fixed despite 3 calls forcing us to sleep with the window slightly open). We come to London / South Kensington quite often and decided to give this hotel a try Vs staying at our usual place - The Rembrandt. Thanks to Nazir professionalism and quick attention to the customer, he ended-up resolving our first night poor experience and resolved the issue by moving us to a nicer room. Thanks to Nazir, we will definitely come back as this would have been our first and last stay at this hotel.

Yelp
We had 20 hours of flights to get here and ended up arriving well before check in so we stopped to see if there's anything they could do. They very extremely friendly and assured us they'd prioritize our room to get us in under the circumstances that way we wouldn't need to go find a way to spend 5 hours. That is until they just led us on with "not quite yets" all the way until just before what would be regular check in times. They were able to get a full soccer team into their rooms as they arrived, brining then drinks while they got them checked in. Unless you're the 1% of someone they consider special, consider anything they say a lie. I strongly suggest another hotel that actually values its guests instead of one that just pretends to. Actions speak louder than words.

Yelp
Literally the worst customer service. Will just put you on hold and then hang up. Just get an Airbnb.they don't have room service, prices crazy, and they're rude. Pick any other place.

Nikh K.

Yelp
Not even close to 5 stars. The rooms are like a sauna, and then the AC stops working. And the internet stops working. For $600 a night. What a joke. I would advise staying anywhere else...

Yelp
Lovely space for afternoon tea. Joined my friends for a catch up with scones & stayed until the early evening. It was so comfortable & welcoming The floor to ceiling windows allows you a great view of the park & ample natural light fills the dining & bar spaces. Pleasant & helpful staff explained the tea selections, were attentive with sandwich refills but never crowded us. Heck, they didn't even shove us along after the tea & lunch service ended & they started to transition to evening dining. Tasty selection of treats for the Royal Afternoon tea which came with a glass of champagne. Delightful afternoon.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. The service and quality is very average and it is like 4 star hotel. The hairdryer is disaster and it takes ages to dry the hair. However, if you anyone want to stay in this hotel, I recommend to get the park view. The view of the park is fabulous specially during sunset and sunrise. The other advantage of this hotel is the location. It is in prime location and anyone can walk down the street and take a look at different fashion and sport shops. Very positive point about this hotel: "if you have luggages and you need to store them because if different reasons, this hotel has a service to store then for you for up to maximum 6 months. (I can say I liked this option because it helped me a lot)

Yelp
Deteriorating service! Absolutely devastated after being loyal to this hotel for years to be so disappointed. Will definitely think twice next time..

Yelp
This place doesn't get it. As I heaved my suitcase up the stairs the doorman looked at me and said, "Do you need some help?" What does it look like I need, sir? If you know of a porter, please send him my way! After securing a room I got to the door and the key didn't work. I called reception from the phone in the elevator bank. They told me they were too busy to bring a key up to me. I went downstairs to fetch one. The supervisor who checked me in said I "should've just called for the key." I explained that I had. The room was freezing. I had to turn on the heater to make it bearable. Odd. Just odd. I called for room service - and tried to ask for condiments before he hung up. So I called back to ask for mayonnaise and ketchup. 10 minutes later I got condiments but no food. Uhhhh.... After that, room service called me back and asked me for my order again. A beacon of light came when I saw the options for plug in the desk: 230 volt (European), 110 volt (American) etc. but then none of them worked. Are you surprised? By then, I shouldn't have been but somehow still was though only a smidge. The next day I spoke to the manager who offered a half-hearted apology and said that my experience was an anomaly and that I should try them again. Unlikely.

Yelp
I stayed here for work, so I was very busy and had little interaction with service/staff. But my room was larger than a typical european hotel room, and the views are gorgeous. I could see the Kensington Palace, and was right over the park. If you get the right rooms, it's like this hotel is in a cozy countryside, not on a crazy busy street in London. The lobby is large and modern and shiny, very different from other older, boutique-y London hotels. They stock your fridge with a very nice selection of beverages, so if you don't mind paying way too much for alcohol, you could have a little party by yourself. My favorite thing about the room was the seating area on the raised floor. It gives the room a city apartment feel, rather than a cliche square room with a bed in the middle. My only issue was the window cleaners who suddenly were dangling smack against my window face to face when I was in a towel. THAT was strange and scary. We made eye contact and I snuck away to the bathroom.

Yelp
Since I travel quiet a bit, I expected a bit more from this Hotel. As an American in London, for the 5th time, I am somewhat familiar with deal! The room & bathroom were very nice by any standard...the room service was great, and food was surprisingly good+++. I do think though there is something that interferes with your wifi device so you have to use theirs and pay. I would stay there again. Prepare to pay, really rich people are staying here, lots of Arabs & Russians who don't care how much anything costs...

Yelp
I've stayed here twice for 3-4 nights at a time and I really love it. Great location with everything you'd need close by: Coffee bar, juice bar, pub, shopping, a park and restaurants all super close/within walking distance. The breakfast is quite delicious, the room service is fine enough and the staff is super helpful. Hot tip: they shine your shoes for free.

Yelp
The Royal Garden hotel is a really lush hotel on Kensington High Street. You really feel like you're staying somewhere classy as soon as you step into the building. The bar is really expensive... probably not the best thing to be drinking here if you're on a budget but then again if you are staying here, the chances are you've got a bit of money. The bar is open till the wee hours too, which is always handy... The rooms are pretty standard despite all this lavish expense. You are really paying for the area and the fact this is a big gorgeous hotel near central London, nothing more. If you have the money, it's worth checking this place out. The staff are very accommodating and the area is beautiful - close to the centre and also Notting Hill (10 minute bus ride away).

Yelp
I did enjoy this hotel. I had a spacious room with a view of High Street. They had a US power adapter and a USB plug. Room came with an excellent shower and tub and roomy bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and I found my room to be very quiet. There was a sit down vanity that I do my hair and make up at, which I loved. You can get access to the gym, Anytime Fitness, attached to the hotel. Decent gym for a hotel. It does not have everything, but its great while on vacation. i loved the location of this hotel. Very close to Kensington Palace, and not far from Notting Hill. Lots of fabulous shopping on High street and near by. Close to the tube to get anywhere. I preferred staying here rather than staying closer to all the tourist sights. I felt like I got a better feel for London here. I would highly recommend this hotel.
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
Came here once for afternoon tea and again for an overnight stay and both times had a great experience. The hotel is a little out of the way of the tube station and the front leaves a lot to be desired, but the interior is great with amazing views of the park. We unfortunately stayed on a particularly windy night and the sound on the windows was very loud which means that sleep quality wasn't great, so I've knocked a * off for that. Both the afternoon tea and room service we had were lovely and I would definitely return.
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
This is a good, solid 4-star business hotel located on High Street Kensington, adjacent to Kensington Palace and about a 5 minute walk to the tube station. You will find the rooms comfortable and a bit bigger than what is common in Europe. They serve up a good breakfast and although I was not able to try it, their Chinese restaurant is rumored to be one of the best in London. This is definitely a BUSINESS hotel and you will find that everything is centered around convenience and efficiency. So you will find that there is not much atmosphere or character here. The neighborhood is also pretty quiet at night so you can be assured of a good night's sleep. f you're looking for nightlife, other than a few pubs in the immediate neighborhood, you'll need to travel elsewhere in the city. But with the tube station close by that shouldn't be a problem. Since I like to go out at night, I don't know that I'd stay here again but you could do far, far worse. I do have to give a shout out to the night staff, who were very good-natured and friendly when I stumbled in after a long night out.
google avatar

Jing S.

Yelp
This so-called luxury hotel is full of money-grabbing schemes. There is no free Internet to the guests, the business center charges you for every 15 minutes of use, local calls are also not free. The newly renovated rooms and especially bathrooms are quite nice albiet a bit small. Service is mediocre. The only factor that would make me consider staying here again (which is highly unlikely) is the location -- right next to Hyde Park and very close to a tube station. I wouldn't mind returning for another visit to the Min Jiang restaurant though, but that's a different review.
google avatar

Rick A.

Yelp
At first I thought this location was a half mile further west than I usually like, but I had my eyes opened. The location is quite nice, perched right beside Kensington Palace, right on the edge of Kensington Garden. Great park walking, quiet nearby streets around the palace. Easy walk to Royal Albert Hall, and a healthy walk to Knightsbridge shopping. Easy cabs and tube to everywhere else. Ignore the touristy restaurants immediately nearby, plenty of restaurant gems in Kensington and Notting Hill and beyond. So, a good location in the end. The hotel itself is not your classic period London hotel, if that is what you are looking for, but it is modern, very clean, well-equipped, effective concierge, etc. I'll stay here again. The only thing to watch out for are things like the add-on charges, if you don't book a package including WiFi (I didn't pay attention) that adds another £20 a day which is aggressive.
google avatar

Debbie H.

Yelp
Lovely, lovely staff but a disappointing afternoon tea. Sandwiches and a range of cakes but nothing memorable...best of the bunch were the scones. At £26 per head this was a bit of a let down.

Yelp
If you are a wealthy Brit or a foreign tourist then you will like it here. If you are a very wealthy Arab who owns a Lambo or a £300000 Merc, then you will REALLY like it here! If however you are just a normal working class person who happened to fancy a treat for the weekend then tread carefully. Myself and my Wife first stayed here courtesy of my in-laws in 07 and everything was fine, bit pricey, but that was to be expected. We had a lovely room overlooking the park to the side of the Hotel, the staff were friendly and we had a really nice weekend. Now I don't know if it was because we were with my pretty well off in-laws the first time round, but when we went back last year minus the in-laws we had a totally different experience. To start with all posh cars were being parked by the door staff who dissappeared when it came to our turn. So my wife parked the car herself. We were there quite a bit to early to check in so we left our bags with reception and went out for the day. When we returned we were given the key card and went to our room and this is where the problems started. My Dad in law booked the same room we had been given in 07,a really nice big room with the bed on a raised floor and a great view overlooking the park. What we were given though was a tiny room round the front over looking the main road. When we queeried this we were told that the room we had booked was being redecorated so we couldn't have it. Fair enough, apart from the fact that the room we had been given was cheeper to stay in than the other room but no money back was offered,in fact it turned out that the pokey little room we had been given was actually costing more than the really nice room we'd had previously!!! The room was so poor that a Hotel should not be able to class itself 5star while it has rooms like it.. The whole thing left a nasty taste in our mouths. When we checked out we voiced our dissapointment and were told that they would make sure our next stay there would be a much nicer experience....next time??? next time??? Yeah right!!!! And to top it all off we got a parking ticket for putting the car in the wrong part of the car park (cheers for going missing doorman!!!) So think on, if you are a normal Human Being either borrow a supercar for the weekend or stand really close to a double parked Arab at reception and they may think you're with him and treat you normally.. Bitter? Me? Never : )

Yelp
Review is for afternoon tea only. Fine selections of tea and great presentation, although I wasn't too crazy about some of tea sandwiches. The desserts were really nicely done too. What I enjoyed most was not feeling rushed at all. They allowed for ample time between sandwiches and sweets and offered many refills on hot water. The price is comparatively reasonable for others in the area.

Yelp
The hotel is a luxury hotel in the Kensington area of London. It is a great location for shopping, dining or even commuting. I ended up staying in a smoking room which I was not asked if I am a smoker--I am not. The hallway reeked and the smell could be detected into my room. I opened the window to make it more bearable. The room itself is clean and the bed is comfortable. If I have the opportunity to stay here again, I would take it. But I will make sure that I specify that I want a non-smoking room!
google avatar

Cy K.

Yelp
Contemporary modern and clean. Staff from reception to concierge was very helpful, polite and professional. One small downfall not that close to subway/metro stations. But the cleanliness, slick modern feel and very polite professional staff made up for it! One small advantage for the Tourists! They have the Big Bus tours that literally stop in front of the hotel! Very convenient if you want to get a quick historical feel of London!
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
I love this hotel. While others find old furnishings charming, we love modern. That's why we chose this over others. We also love the park and the view is wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room service was very nice. The room has a elevated sitting area next to the windows. It's light, airy and modern with clean lines. I'll admit the entrance is not impressive from the outside, but I think they built the hotel to maximize the location's best attributes.

Kevin J.

Yelp
4 problems during a 1 night stay: 1. Wine was spilled by waiter on clothing; 2. Room door key failed at 1am; 3. The shower door opens *inwards* preventing an average size male from closing door from within; 4. Took about 30 mins to deliver 3 coffees in the lobby; On discussing the shower with the Concierge Manager, he asked if we had noticed the room view. - The location is great, the staff are friendly, but unhelpful.

Natalie C.

Yelp
5 stars for customer service!! What great service they provide! Everything from doorman grabbing bags before we'd even tried to get out of cab, to the front desk finding us a room and allowing early check in!! The hotel is nice but the rooms are tiny and the pillows are feather-flat. But overall we liked it & would stay here again.

Yelp
Royal Garden Hotel is wonderful. We stayed for 5 nights. The rooms are lovely and the bathroom is huge. The closet had very wide sliding doors completely mirrored floor to ceiling. We ate in the Park Terrace Restaurant several times and enjoyed the bar, not only for drinks but also light meals. There was another bar upstairs - a very quiet spot. Royal Garden Hotel has a great location next to Kensington Palace and Kensington Gardens.

Yelp
nothing to compare it to in london per se, but in general a good hotel from an american's pov. beds are comfy, although it gets cold in the room and they don't have much for covers, but they have heat and the windows open a bit so you can make it work. bathrooms are quite nice. really nice hairdryer for the ladies :) love the 42" flat screen in the wall. outlets for american 3 prong laptops with no need for an adapter, great for business travel and a little fun squeezed in. everything is close by, subway, buses, taxis, parks, buckingham palace, picadilly circus, regent st, oxford st, train station is close, gatwick is closer than heathrow, atms/banks close by, shopping close by...good food and theatres close as well. great location if you like to walk and get about. wifi sucks tho and very pricey, like 30 pounds a day, which is about 32 usd a day now. great views too...would def go back. good service considering how rude the brits can be, breakfast omelets were good in the restaurant, don't recommend room service.
