Royal Hotel

The best Part of the Star was the friendly owner he made the stay very pleasant. Also the tour guide he organised was amazing 10/10 recommend (ask for Mr.Soon). The rooms were super clean, beds comfortable, quiet, and close to the city center.

We was recommended Mr. Or Oeurm by a couple we met in Phnom Penh who had been in Battambang. I messaged him on WhatsApp and we arranged a tour with him straight away. We chose the ‘Trip 1’ tour which enabled us to see all of the main sights in Battambang. Mr. Or Oeurm was very punctual arriving early for us and ensuring that we had plenty of time to see each place. His English was excellent and he was very knowledgable about all of the areas and gave us lots of valuable information. I felt more like I had paid for a tour guide he was amazing. He let us attend all of the activities at our own pace and really helped us along the way, waiting for us with plenty of time to see and do. He ensured we were able to do the ‘bat cave’ last so that we could see millions of bats fly out at sunset. He kept us hydrated always offering us cold water throughout and beer later in the day which was excellent! I would recommend Mr Or Oeurm to anybody, his tour was extremely good value for money. Thank you so much for one of our favourite days in our travelling so far :)

In the very centre of lovely Battambang, this hotel just ticks all the boxes😍 Standard A/C rooms are clean and comfy, town market for breakfast is literally seconds away just like other coffee bars and shops. Motorbikes and tuk tuks for rent available. Assisted by sweet Mrs.Dina and smart Mr.Tai,my 4-night stay was memorable. Thank you !

The staff are incredibly helpful and lovely. The staff could not do enough for us and we were so grateful for them to help us plan trips and book transport. We booked tours with Mr Soon (highly recommend!!) Rooms were good to sleep in, AC and fan, kettle in the room. No lift and rooms aren’t sound proof if that’s something you worry about.

We arrived at Battambang at 4am, with the expectation that our hostel had a 24 hour reception. Little did we know that it didn’t actually exist anymore and left us stranded during the early hours! Fortunately we found the Royal Hotel only just up the road and despite bothering them at this time, they were so helpful and accommodating. We managed to get a spare room for the morning just to get ourselves back on our feet. Hotel is definitely a good choice for a short stay!

It's an old hotel - you can get more modern rooms for the same price. There was no toilet paper, no tissues nor water provided. The sink in the bathroom was leaking, so my legs would get wet even if I was brushing my teeth. Some of the employees at the reception were trying to sell something to me whenever I went past, whether it was a tuk tuk ride, a tour or motorbike rental. The location was good and the room is spacious, but I changed to another hotel for the second night.

I am shocked this place doesn’t have a perfect 5. The service alone was some of the best we’ve had after travelling for over a year. Pros: - super comfy beds - lovely AC - very clean - warm showers - amazing pillows - great location - loveliest owner you’ll ever meet - sweet receptionist - great body wash - very reasonably priced Cons: - literally none Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Mr. Buntha is the best travel guide and transport for ALL your needs in and around Battambang... excellent English, friendly and full of knowledge about Battambang and Cambodian history.. also knows good places for food, drink and shopping
