Royal Hotel

The staff are incredibly helpful and lovely. The staff could not do enough for us and we were so grateful for them to help us plan trips and book transport. We booked tours with Mr Soon (highly recommend!!) Rooms were good to sleep in, AC and fan, kettle in the room. No lift and rooms aren’t sound proof if that’s something you worry about.

It's an old hotel - you can get more modern rooms for the same price. There was no toilet paper, no tissues nor water provided. The sink in the bathroom was leaking, so my legs would get wet even if I was brushing my teeth. Some of the employees at the reception were trying to sell something to me whenever I went past, whether it was a tuk tuk ride, a tour or motorbike rental. The location was good and the room is spacious, but I changed to another hotel for the second night.

I am shocked this place doesn’t have a perfect 5. The service alone was some of the best we’ve had after travelling for over a year. Pros: - super comfy beds - lovely AC - very clean - warm showers - amazing pillows - great location - loveliest owner you’ll ever meet - sweet receptionist - great body wash - very reasonably priced Cons: - literally none Couldn’t recommend this place more!

The room was quiet, spacious, clean, & the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful, going above & beyond in their service! They very kindly took the initiative to call Giant Ibis Express after hours to arrange pickup for us, from the hotel to the bus terminal, when they found out we had not made this arrangement. This was despite the fact that we had booked our bus tickets ourselves, and not through Royal Hotel. The hotel actually arranges tours & transportation, which we would have gladly booked through them, had we known earlier. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay there should we visit Battambang again.

We arrived at Battambang at 4am, with the expectation that our hostel had a 24 hour reception. Little did we know that it didn’t actually exist anymore and left us stranded during the early hours! Fortunately we found the Royal Hotel only just up the road and despite bothering them at this time, they were so helpful and accommodating. We managed to get a spare room for the morning just to get ourselves back on our feet. Hotel is definitely a good choice for a short stay!

Not only beautiful rooms, fully equipped, but also the most wonderful service. I forgot my camera in the room and they contacted me to let me know and offered to send it. Great service and great location!

Fairly cheap but a bit outdated and fairly budget. Not super clean when we arrived, the bathroom mirror was filthy which made us wonder what else hadn’t been cleaned. Location was ok, comfortable enough, had decent nights sleeps. Wet room set up for shower. Had a kettle but no mugs, though were given tankards when we asked. Staff English was ok and they friendly on front desk. Mr Soon who is a tuk tuk driver based from the hotel did us a tour and he was amazing. Overall ok, for a few budget nights to explore Battambang.

What a magical day! We booked a tour with Mr. Khem Ry through our hotel and he was great 👍 He was incredibly kind with great humour! The tour was adjusted for what we wanted to do on the day and we did it all in perfect timing. He was patient throughout the day and gave great information for each stop. Would recommend to anyone ✨
