We stayed at the Hospedaje Royal Inn for one night before going on our jungle adventure. The room was 50 soles for two people and came with a ceiling fan, cable TV and wifi. For 100 soles you can get air-conditioning. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The area above the door to enter the room was open (no screen or glass or anything) and beyond the hotel's control, a nightclub in town plays very loud music that keeps you awake. We could hear the same nightclub 10kms out of town in the jungle though.||You can purchase drinks, snacks, etc. in the reception area. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Walking distance to the square, port, restaurants, market and so forth. Was ok for one night.

Unfortunately, much like a lot of Puerto Maldonado (especially the airport), this place had lots of a particular kind of massive fly around. 1st room we had was covered with them (maybe a nest nearby), while our friends 2 rooms had a few each. After complaining the guy at reception changed our room no problem, and eventually changed the others too. Thankfully no issues in those rooms which were fine. I'm assuming that all hotels in the area have suffered from these insects judging on the town, so not sure if this place us worse or better than the rest. I'd suggest not staying in Puerto Maldonado but if you are, then make sure you get a non-roadside room. Quieter and bug free.

In April of this year I spent one night at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located on Calle 2 de Mayo.Check-in was handled speedily and I was shown to my room. The room was clean.adequately furnished and comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well-important in a steamy place like Puerto Maldonado. No food was available there but very good eateries are available locally.I can recommend this place for a short stay of one or two nights....I give it 7 out of 10.

The room teamed with ants and reaked of urine - literally the worst smell possible. Sooo noisy with loads of building work and mess everywhere! I slept on top of covers as felt too dirty and also cold showers. Wifi was ok though.

Adequate place for one night. Room was bright (light from the hallway) and loud (noises from traffic on the street). Bring ear plugs and eye mask. No hot water in the shower.

Running water and flushing toilets are not a 24/7 thing but the hotel was clean and the staff was great
