Royal Jewellery Studio is located in the old Royal Theatre building. It's a beautiful piece of architecture and a fitting place for incredible bespoke NZ-made jewellery. If I'm honest many of the incredible pieces here are far outside my budget, but it doesn't stop me from stopping in a couple of times a month to see the interesting new things they have. It's as much an art gallery as it is a shop. Benjamin Flynn, who runs the place, has some amazing rings on display and there are dozens of other local artists with new stuff coming in all the time. Ditch the horrible jewellery chains and see where it's really at.
