Truly one of the greatest golf courses in the world. It was in immaculate shape and well deserving of all accolades. The staff was friendly and my caddie, Aaron, was a valuable resource. Highly recommend this experience.

Blown away by how awesome this place is. It is truly awesome. Facilities, golf course, proshop, hospitality, parking, people - ALL very highly rated. If you are lucky enough to play here (I played the West Course - ranked #7 in the world), then stop for a second, look around, and take it all in. Relish it. Savour it. And hope one day that you get to come back. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼⛳️⛳️⛳️

It was a while ago that I had the awesome opportunity to play Australia's Number 1 golf course as a guest of a Royal Melbourne golf club member. Everything about Royal Melbourne Golf Club is perfect 👌, from front house service at proshop to experience of the beautiful West Course. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, which enhanced the experience. The only way to get on and play is to be an invited guest of a member. If you have the opportunity, take it with both hands. This is a bucket list golf course to experience.

I attended a private corporate function here. So my review is based on that. I'm not a golfer but I do enjoy the beautiful views most golf courses offer. Unfortunately, that was not what was on offer here. We were placed in a room that was too big for the number of people attending, the windows blocked by partitions. It also took a while to locate the function room and car park because of poor or no signage. I managed to find a friendly groundskeeper who pointed me in the right direction. My only comment on the course was that a few of our customers who played golf were not happy with the quality and the condition of the course and felt that there were better public courses on offer. A disappointing experience with most leaving almost 2 hours before the event finished.

This is one of the greatest products of architecture in Australia. Royal Melbourne has a large set of very architecturally strong golf holes that are truly in a class of its own.

Played the famous (infamous) West Course in the 2023 Vic. Royal Melbourne Seniors Classic. Fairways: fantastic. Greens: fast. Bunkers: deep and plentiful. Score: don't ask 😄. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some. If you're a keen golfer, and circumstances permit - put a game at RM on your bucket list. Unforgettable ⛳.

Played the east course which is shorter than the West but still has some gems of holes.weather was a little rainy but thoroughly enjoyed the round. Brilliant clubhouse with a rich history.

Yelp
Often rated as the best course in Australia - this is a very private expensive club for the gentry of Melbourne in the famed Sandbelt area of Melbourne. Has two 18 hole courses - East and West spread over four sections of land. For tournaments only one main section is used - making up the Composite Course. The West Course is definitely superior, has most of the holes of the composite layout and the front nine of the West has a stretch of five or six holes that are world class. Noted for its large bunkers and fast greens it is a masterwork of noted course design legend Dr Alistair McKenzie. Interstate or overseas players may be able to get a round with a letter of introduction from their club - sent well ahead of time. The course is well-treed but maintains something of a links feel as it is built on ancient sand-dunes that are now well inland. I was a caddy at Royal Melbourne for four years but actually rate Kingston Heath and Barnbougle Dunes as better course designs overall (and The Dunes at Rye remains my favourite all time course).
