Where to Stay in Brisbane When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"Directly across from the City Botanic Gardens, I describe Royal on the Park as a stately midrange hotel with large, simply designed rooms, dark-wood decor, an outdoor pool and hot tub, a lounge and restaurant that serves an expansive breakfast buffet, and rooms fitted with ergonomic desks, USB ports, and espresso machines." - Matthew Kepnes

The 6 Best Hotels in Brisbane (Updated 2025)

"Located directly across from the lush botanical gardens in the Inner City and a short walk from Queen Street Mall, I find this hotel charming. It offers an outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, lounge, and a restaurant with an expansive breakfast buffet. The generously sized rooms are simply designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light; the beds are super comfy and bathrooms, while not huge, are well-equipped with good water pressure. All rooms include ergonomic work desks, USB ports by the beds, and espresso machines, and guests receive a complimentary drink on arrival." - Matthew Kepnes

Great location near the gardens and away from the noise of the city, but still just a stroll away if you want a night out. Our room was spacious and extremely well presented. The hotel has a beautiful old world feel that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time.

The hotel's understated elegance and the friendly, helpful staff made for a welcoming experience. Our room was well equipped with a lovely view over the Botanical Gardens. We found the location very convenient, being easy walking distance to Queens Wharf complex and the cross-river pedestrian bridges. Easy, inexpensive parking on the premises was an added bonus.

Whenever we are in Brisbane, Royal on the Lark is where we choose to stay and we have stayed here quite a few times over the last few years. |Why do we love Royal on the Park:|1. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely lobby that reminds me of old would charm. The rooms are comfy and well appointed. And they have charging points on my sides of the bed. |2. Staff are always so helpful and friendly. We have stayed at many hotels and I always appreciate a lovely warm welcome and friendly staff throughout the stay. Royal on the Park staff are exactly that- friendly, helpful and welcoming all the time. |3. We love the location - right near botanical gardens, not far from the mall, easy walk to south bank. |4. Restaurant - We always have breakfast at Walnut Grove Restaurant and highly recommended this. ||We absolutely would recommend Royal on the Park and we will be back again in December.

A very good hotel. Our room was on a higher floor, with a lovely view of the park. It was spacious with free tea, coffee and water, and a fridge. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location for exploring the river, park and historic buildings

We had dinner at the restaurant with our two small kids after my wife’s graduation which was on site. We couldn’t have asked for better service from Jessica and the team. The service was exceptional. Their attention to detail, professionalism and hospitality was fantastic. The food was also lovely.

Hotel is a very good location in Brisbane. Spacious room with powerful shower. Hotel is a little out dated and rooms could do with updating. There is a room to wash your laundry which was helpful when traveling around Australia. Gym was good but the air con was pumping out hot air with no remote turn the temperature down. Overall a good stay!

A very comfortable and well located hotel. The room was spacious and well appointed. The Walnut room for cocktails and drinks was lovely and relaxing. A stroll around the Botanic Gardens, over the new Kangaroo Point Bridge and along to the many restaurants of choice makes for a wonderful night away. We look forward to staying here again.

We visited for a short break to Brisbane (to see Bluey's World) and we loved our time at Royal on the Park. Rooms were clean and comfy, it was a beautiful location (close to the gardens and ferries) and the buffet breakfast was such a nice way to start the day. We were lucky enough to be at breakfast during the tour de Brisbane and loved sitting back with a coffee watching all the competitors race by. We will be back.!
