There are some areas of the palace you can enter for free, like the beautiful park with the gardens, and some areas that you need to pay the entrance fee. We paid the entrance tickets because we wanted to see the rooms of the palace. It was 15€ well spent since it is totally worth it if you want to explore old luxurious buildings and royal furniture and lifestyle.

If you're in the mood to see something grand, then you need to visit the Royal palace of Naples. Here you'll see what they call the Royal apartments where each room in the apartment is as big as a house. The staircase alone is very grand and breathtaking.

The state rooms are lovely, but everything seems quite poorly run. The room's descriptions/audio guides are being replaced and some were not functional. There's no WiFi to make use of the QR codes. The Hanging gardens were inaccessible due to rain, and refunds were only available through an Italian paper form submitted online. Very poor toilets. The Museo Caruso and gardens were inexplicably closed. Free lockers available though.

I like palaces a lot and have visited many. This one is fine. There are a number of impressive rooms to visit but it’s surprisingly limited, perhaps due to renovation. Worth a visit.

Full of history and majestic, but a little neglected. The tapestries were dusty and discolored. A deep restoration is needed and it seems that they are working on that. An audio guide would be good.

A school orientation day was taking place on the day we visited, so the palace was full of kids and teenagers. It was a mess, they were loud, they were everywhere, occupying the toilets 2-3 girls at the same time, taking their sweet time. We paid the extra €2 to visit the garden, from where you have a nice view of the port and the Vezuv. I am not much into museums, so to me it’s just another over decorated palace with their hanging fancy chandeliers, full of paintings, heavy drapes.

Really liked the place. Entrance to the garden is for free, the interior of the building is a museum and you need ticket for it. We used Naples pass so the ticket was included in the pass and we did not pay anything at the entrance

A little but of a disappointment. First you walk through the castle. But they don't allow you to view the gardens. That means you walk back to the entrance and pay 2 euros to see the garden and have to walk through the museum again just to get to the garden. So I am thinking, instead of paying 10 euros to visit the palace, ask for a 2 euro ticket to view the garden, because they really don't mo it or anything. Besides, you have to walk through the palace to get I to the garden, so you essentially see it for free. Don't expect any assistance, guidance, or polite staff...

Yelp
One of the large open spaces and if all of Naples looked as clean as this, it would be a much nicer city. This piazza is massive and beautiful. With the Royal Palace on one side and the church of San Francesco di Paola in the center, this is a beautiful spot. Not much going on today - it's late January - but there are usually events and festivals here in the warmer months. [Review 19219 overall - 370 in Italy - 189 of 2023.]

Yelp
Massive! I'm sure this entire space was much more useful over 172 years ago. I was hanging around this plaza for their La Notte della Tammorra festival. Lotsa people just gathered listening to music, having conversations, munching on pizza and birre. It's a friendly community for locals and visitors. I even had a small conversation with someone where we both were using Google Translate to communicate. It didn't halt our attempts to talk, despite our language barrier. Hospitality and humanity is an art of a person's soul. Day time and night there always seems to be people hanging around, especially on the steps. The building directly faces Palazzo Reale di Napoli. Piazza del Plebiscito is a perfect landmark to know you're a short walk away to the ocean views. Keep on gallavanting! There's more to see and live.

Yelp
I came to Naples and was able to visit this Piazza as part of a combined tour with also going to Pompeii in the morning. Its a large open square, with the Naples Royal Palace on one end and a beautiful Church building, which when we were visiting in Dec 2018, was lit-up and had a revolving display of multi-color lights shining on its walls. I guess it was okay - I think coming from Rome, felt a bit more understated. Yelp 280/ 2018

Yelp
A huge expansive public space that puts you in awe to the size of the building fascia the closer you get to it. A vast open sweeping pair of arms that you could imagine holding the entire commerce of the city back in ancient times, filled with vendors and craftsmen from all over selling their wares. This is one of the few plazas I found so large and in excellent shape.

Yelp
We passed this on our way toward the waterfront. Nice big area to run around in. I remember when I was kid I used to love running around big spaces like this. read more about our Naples food tour on my site

Yelp
Magic! One of the most beautiful squares in Napoli. From there you can walk to the seafront and enjoy its beauty.
