Would recommend. It gets a little tricky to dong your way about. Have to purchase tickets for the inside walk about The outside is free. There was some construction going on so wasn't able to walk through the garden. The view was amazing when you are walking through the palace.

The Palace was built in 1600 onwards by the architect Domenico Fontana as the residence of the Spanish Viceroys. From 1734, Charles of Bourbon made the Palace the primary residence of the Bourbons of Naples for more than a hundred years, first as Kings of Naples and Sicily (1734-1816) and later as Kings of the two Sicilies (1816-1861). It was also the residence for Joseph Bonaparte and Joachim Murat during French rule (1806-1815), during which extensive redecorations were carried out. The Naples Palace is absolutely beautiful, the architecture and the art are amazing. I did all of it and it was totally worth it. The grandeur of the place, was unbelievable, the staircase alone was fantastic. I totally recommend coming in the morning and beating some of the crowds and also so you can take your time and spend as much time as you want without be worried about the Palace closing. I did an audio guide and personally, I recommend that because I was able to go at my own pace. The history of the palace is so impressive. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

The Royal Palace of Naples is the kind of place where you’d expect to hear the whispers of court intrigue – but instead, you hear scooter horns from the square. That’s Naples for you. Originally the seat of the Spanish viceroys and later the Bourbon kings of Naples, this palace is anything but modest – gilded ceilings, tapestries, massive chandeliers... basically Italian Versailles, except instead of gardens you get Mount Vesuvius in the background. And those statues of kings out front? Take a moment to read their names – most of them had more intermarried cousins than teeth. :)

Very impressively large each rooms. Although it ended quickly around 30 rooms it is worth visiting. The entrance in April 2025 was 15 eur + 2 eur visiting the gardens upstairs. Visiting the gardens is limited by people.

One of the most beautiful buildings I visited while visiting Naples (and Rome), with exception to the churches. If you're an interiors or architecture fan, this is a must-see. Get tickets ahead of time and arrive when it opens - you can get photos without people standing around.

Not great but pretty palace. I went there early on the morning so there wasnt many people. It is a bit consulting to get into the right entrance. Not must see, but i recommend it.

Google
The former Royal residence of the Bourbon kings of Naples. It costs €15 for an adult. You get to see the Royal chambers and the very Grand entrance staircase. Information in English is available as well. Toilets on site but not much else though the gardens are free but were being dug up when we were there in July. A lot see nearby as well so worth a visit

We visited the Royal Palace of Naples, but honestly, I wasn’t very impressed. While the building is historically important and the exterior looks grand, the interior felt a bit underwhelming. Some rooms were beautiful, but overall it lacked the richness and detail I expected from a royal palace. Worth a quick visit if you’re nearby, but not a must-see in Naples, in my opinion.

Yelp
One of the large open spaces and if all of Naples looked as clean as this, it would be a much nicer city. This piazza is massive and beautiful. With the Royal Palace on one side and the church of San Francesco di Paola in the center, this is a beautiful spot. Not much going on today - it's late January - but there are usually events and festivals here in the warmer months. [Review 19219 overall - 370 in Italy - 189 of 2023.]

Yelp
Massive! I'm sure this entire space was much more useful over 172 years ago. I was hanging around this plaza for their La Notte della Tammorra festival. Lotsa people just gathered listening to music, having conversations, munching on pizza and birre. It's a friendly community for locals and visitors. I even had a small conversation with someone where we both were using Google Translate to communicate. It didn't halt our attempts to talk, despite our language barrier. Hospitality and humanity is an art of a person's soul. Day time and night there always seems to be people hanging around, especially on the steps. The building directly faces Palazzo Reale di Napoli. Piazza del Plebiscito is a perfect landmark to know you're a short walk away to the ocean views. Keep on gallavanting! There's more to see and live.

Yelp
I came to Naples and was able to visit this Piazza as part of a combined tour with also going to Pompeii in the morning. Its a large open square, with the Naples Royal Palace on one end and a beautiful Church building, which when we were visiting in Dec 2018, was lit-up and had a revolving display of multi-color lights shining on its walls. I guess it was okay - I think coming from Rome, felt a bit more understated. Yelp 280/ 2018

Yelp
A huge expansive public space that puts you in awe to the size of the building fascia the closer you get to it. A vast open sweeping pair of arms that you could imagine holding the entire commerce of the city back in ancient times, filled with vendors and craftsmen from all over selling their wares. This is one of the few plazas I found so large and in excellent shape.

Yelp
We passed this on our way toward the waterfront. Nice big area to run around in. I remember when I was kid I used to love running around big spaces like this. read more about our Naples food tour on my site

Yelp
Magic! One of the most beautiful squares in Napoli. From there you can walk to the seafront and enjoy its beauty.
