6 Best Hotels in Dubrovnik (Updated 2025)

"Situated in Lapad, Royal Palm Hotel is a more affordable five-star option where rooms can feel a bit dated in carpet and décor but are spacious, airy, and many offer gorgeous ocean views; rooms include a TV, electric kettle, desk, minibar, and convenient outlets near the bed. The bathrooms are large and bright with stylish tile or marble, bathrobes, and complimentary toiletries, and some even have deep soaking tubs. The complimentary breakfast buffet has plenty of variety (including an egg station, mimosas, and fresh pastries), and there’s a relaxing spa, pool, and gym on site. The beach is nearby, and I especially like that the on-site terrace restaurant offers sweeping panoramic views of the Adriatic." - Matthew Kepnes

Stunning view from our excellent superior sea view room. Comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping. All areas are maintained very well and staff friendly and helpful. Spa and sauna were immaculate in both locations and at the outdoor pools the staff set up your sunbeds and parasol in an area of your choice and provide pool towels. The location is near to a few bars/restaurants along the promenade and further along are more bars etc/shops and couple of supermarkets. Good frequent bus service into Pile Old Town located 5 mins walk from the hotel||The breakfast was very good with an impressive choice of food plus an Egg Station cooking to your requirements. ||There was no information in our room regarding the breakfast times and specific restaurant to go to. As we were half board which had to ask for details of dinner times and location of the specific restaurant. ||Sadly, the half board dinner was disappointing with fairly limited and repetitive food options. Getting a drink was hit and miss. Only on one occasion were we offered the drinks menu. Other times you had to try to attract the attention of one of the waiting team. ||Would thoroughly recommend this hotel but perhaps just bed and breakfast

Cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, last day here and we have loved this stay! The hotel is clean, the rooms are very nice and beds are very comfortable! Staff are all so lovely and are always happy to help, and in fact everyone we have come across on our trip to Croatia has been very friendly. This has been the most easiest couple’s trip I’ve ever arranged - from the ease of booking Ubers that turn up to the hotel within a few mins, to the bars and restaurants that are right on your doorstep on this lovely resort. If you’re thinking of a beautiful trip to Croatia/Dubrovnik and want to stay at a hotel with breathtaking views, friendly staff, really nice spa, gym facilities and pools - this is it! We’ve had the most amazing time for my husband’s 40th. Would highly recommend to everyone!

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Bed comfy, view from balcony amazing (the higher floors are a must), breakfast had loads of options to choose and plenty of seating. Great to be about to choose which pool to use (amongst the 5 hotels all together). |Beautiful burgers at La Castille restaurant. ||Brilliant location: Bus stop just a short walk to get to (and end of line which is great as they get really crowded) - really regular (very 5-10 mins). ||Lovely walk along the promenade to Lapad. Great bar & restaurant to visit on the way (More Cave). ||In summary…we are so glad we booked here. Perfect location and fabulous hotel!

Just returned from 11 nights HB at the Royal Palm Hotel booked via Jet2. The ONLY 5* here is the view...absolutely stunning from the sea view suites but the upgrade is costly.||Whilst the suites are spacious and comfortable (with the best bed ever), and kept clean by the Housekeeping Team, they lack TLC...ripped settee and chair and broken/sharp glass edges to furniture in bedroom! Not what you would expect from a 5* Hotel!! There is a stocked fridge in the room, again costly. One bottle of water is provided on arrival and there are tea and coffeee facilities in the room. Bathroom products are good quality. The balcony offered glorious sea views but be aware there is absolutely no shade, neighbours' conversations can be overheard and the constant moving of balcony furniture rapidly becomes irritating!! ||The half board food option is poor/mediocre at best. Breakfast is good with lots of choice, if a little repetitive, but the HB evening meals are terrible...limited choices (repeated regularly), lukewarm at best and the dining room is akin to a canteen! Food at the other Restaurants (some of which were not open during our stay) on site is very expensive....40€ for a steak with no sides included! Yes there are other restaurants and bars close by but again expensive. The local bus into town is a short walk away and very frequent.||Would we return....well it's the bottom of our list!!

Having read fantastic reviews, we opted to spend 10 nights at The Royal Palm on a half board basis. ||Upon arrival, our excitement soon turned into disappointment when we were shown our room - a luxury King Suite with sea views. The pictures will explain it all. Broken/stained & ripped furniture is not what you’d expect from a hotel - let alone 5 star ||After heading straight back to reception to let them know the room was unacceptable, the staff conferred in their own language then we were asked to view another room. To our shock - it was no better! Back to reception we went to go through the same process again. This time we were asked to go to the bar and enjoy a complimentary drink whilst they talked to the manager who would be available in an hour. ||Having ordered 2 corona at the bar, we were asked if we were paying by cash/card/room charge. We explained that the reception had offered us a complimentary drink. This was then checked but we were told that corona was not on the complimentary drink list therefore it would have to be paid for. Great!||After an hour we headed back to reception and were asked to view another room. We were stunned to find this one was no better! 3 rooms all as bad as each other. ||Our final option ( as this was the last equivalent room apparently) was to see a room in the neighbouring Royal Princess which we did. At last - a decent room. Absolutely not to our taste but what choice did we have? ||Dinner at The Terrace restaurant completed the disappointment. Lack of choice and the food was lukewarm at best. After trying twice, we resorted to eating at the à la carte restaurants or outwith the hotel. The à la carte restaurants were fantastic!||The location is perfect! The promenade walk is beautiful. The views are stunning. The choice of pools is fantastic. ||Sadly - I’m not sure it’ll get a second chance from us as it was the worse start to a holiday we’ve ever had. To spend a small fortune eating out due to dinner being so bad was the final straw.

We had an amazing stay at the Royal Palm Hotel. The views were beautiful, and our room was big and comfortable. The hotel grounds were stunning - beautifully maintained and expansive. Every corner offered something picturesque. One of our favorite moments was enjoying breakfast with such a perfect view. Everything about our experience felt just right. The only downside was that it’s about a 10-minute drive to Dubrovnik Old Town, so it’s not within walking distance. But apart from that, everything was just perfect.

Beautiful hotel with the most amazing sea views. Zoe restaurant was fantastic as was breakfast in the terrace lots of choice. The rooms were lovely and spacious. The staff around the pool were so attentive, and always happy to find you a great spot. I would definitely return to the royal palm. Dubrovnik is only 10 minutes away so ideal location to explore.

Just come back from a week at the Royal Palm Hotel and was really impressed with everything that the hotel hade to offer. Check in was quick and easy.Room was exceptional with wonderful views of the Adriatic Sea and Croatian coast line.|Breakfast was everything that you could wish for, with plenty of seating both in and outside. Hot and cold food a plenty. Nice touch of the Bubbly which was free every day. Rooms cleaned with fresh towels daily. In all our years of travel ,it is the first time Housekeeping left us a note, wishing us a safe journey home. Apart from the Hotel group of restaurants there are few other restaurants in close proximity unless you get transport into town {15-20 ins] or walk along the prom to the next resort [Again 15-20mins]. In conclusion would thoroughly recommend this Hotel, perhaps the only down side is there are a lot of steps in and around the resort and down to the man made beach areas, which could be a problem with mobility issues.
