My fiancé brought me here for a romantic weekend away. Place is really quaint and quiet. It’s adorable and the rooms are super cute and clean. We visited while it was still cold out so we basically were maybe one of 3 guests the entire weekend. Which made it super private and enjoyable. There is a pool, however at 30 degrees outside to cold to use. Beach is literally walkable (across the street). The whole island is quiet and a 35 mph speed limit. Not lots of traffic and frankly a perfect spot to get away. This motel was above expectations and I really hope to visit again soon. Check This place out , it’s a must stay

We booked a last-minute trip and this place was available. They are very outdated and yet give off a chic retro vibe, they’re making it work. The staff was amazing!!! The room was decent enough. The walk to 9th street, directly to the beach was quick and easy. I am glad we stayed here and would stay again.

Little nostalgic motels like this need to be kept alive! We loved our stay and out of our entire weekend it was our favorite motel we crashed at! The room was very clean, the pool was very nice and warm. Cold AC, hot water. Even the beds were comfortable! And the location was everything! It was maybe a two minute walk to the beach, we didn’t even have to drive and where we did drive to it was super easy to get to!

Google
A perfect "Route 66" type hotel, very clean and comfortable. pool was amazing. Very close to beach and main street. We rented a tandem bicycle just down the street and had lunch at Fannie's by the beach, had great conversations with the locals and staff.

Google
Clean room and space was efficiently used. Bed was comfortable. Easy checkin. Pool looked nice. Room was temperature friendly. The motel was in great location- three blocks from beach, easy safe walk. We will stay there again as it’s a great value to stay on island and near the beach.

We came to Tybee for the first time and wanted to stay in something other than the normal on the beach hotels. We booked a room and were not disappointed. It was spacious, nicely decorated to reflect the rest of the motel. The beds were very comfortable and it was a very clean room. Good air conditioning! It is a very short walk to the beach across the street. And close to restaurants and shopping. We were made to feel welcome and at home by Miss Cynthia our hostess. We will surely come back and stay again!

Google
The room was very nice with a Retro upgrade, a nice 60's vibe. Service was by far Exceptional, Becky was great, Cynthia was awesome. Location was perfect to 10th street beach access within walking distance to the downtown pier area.

Google
Rooms are fair enough sized, laid out weird. You walk into a bedroom/livingroom, couch sits under tv facing the bed. Issues 6 digit key code to use as a key, which was odd, door didn’t shut right unless slammed. Bathroom is in other room, outer bedroom has to walk through second room to use it, parking lot is super tight. Pool is small but adequate. Within walking distance to beach and pier. Staff in office was very nice, price was ok. Might try somewhere else next time.

Yelp
The staff was so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be going back. We booked a room for a girls trip. Rooms are a little smaller, but location is perfect.

Yelp
Overall, great stay, great location, good price. The room was clean and just what we needed. It's a quick walk to the beach and "downtown" to the shops. My only "complaint" is that the room itself, particularly the bathroom, was quite small. I feel that the bathroom could have been designed better to maximize space and not feel so cramped. The sink was nearly impossible to wash my face in, but no big deal. I also feel that more storage could have been incorporated into the room, as it was hard to unpack our stuff and still have the room be tidy. But, I was expecting it to be small and so honestly it wasn't a big deal as we barely spent time in the room. If you are on a budget and looking for a clean little place for a few nights, this place is perfect. I would recommend.

Yelp
Great place. Clean, easy access to parking and the beach, and as many towels as you want. The bed is all memory foam. It's the best hotel bed I've slept on in awhile. Price was cheaper than hotels in the area that are not as nice. Anyone complaining about the size of the rooms is baffling. Are you at Tybee for the beach or to hang out in your hotel room all day? I recommend it.

Yelp
Adorable little motel! Perfect for a getaway to Tybee- reasonably priced, across the street from beach access, two blocks from the market at 15 minute walk from the pier. The rooms had everything we needed- beds were super comfy, in room air conditioner unit was great after a day outside. Coffee is available once the front office opens in the morning as well. Parking spots are small, so be aware.

Yelp
Stayed here in April for a quick getaway. I thought I'd got a great deal but this room is about the smallest I've ever seen. My fault for not looking around more but seriously this place is too small. One has to sit sideways on the toilet and the sink is the size of those sinks you spit in at the dentist. The room has no space for even a chair. The staff is nice and gave us extra towels. The whole place is cute but if you need room you will be disappointed.

Yelp
Very retro and adorable!!! We stayed in a studio unit. The AC was loud but the motel was quiet, comfortable, and clean. They maximized space and provided some storage areas in the room. No closet or living area in the studio unit. Very affordable rates! Plus, it was a good location for the beach, shopping, and restaurants. It was perfect for our 2 night stay! We recommend Sunrise Restaurant and Salt Island Fish & beer. Both were yummy!!! We tried The Breakfast Club, it was okay but nothing special.

Yelp
Royal Palm is one-half block north of the and across the street from 10th Avenue and its beach entrance, which is an additional block for a total of a five minute-walk to dune boardwalk (another several minutes). Received a welcome phone call from desk clerk Cynthia, then a text with door code, and the next day staffer Becky was visible, helpful and friendly. Our room, 16, was tiny, though clean, and I had no worries about the room or the hotel once we opened up the door. Rooms include a fridge and micro. Mattress was comfortable, but pillows were overstuffed synthetic. The rate before tax was about $250/night, not particularly roomy for the price. Pool area and grounds are well-maintained. I'd go back.

Yelp
This is a nice motel, gives off great old school vibes. The beds were ok, pillows were not the best. Bad water pressure in the shower and takes a bit to heat up. Pool was okay, sorta dirty and greenish. The walls are very thin, can hear neighbors tv's that are all very loud because the AC units are also very loud. They were about an hour late on check in due to long cleaning, short staffed? Maybe so that's ok just be prepared if it's going to rain. Also no one in the office at all over night incase something happens. I probably wouldn't spend more then a night of 2 like I just did but it's not a bad place for a weekend.

Yelp
Clean rooms comfortable beds. When we head back to Georgia we will probably use again. Old school motel, no frills, just a good place to sleep and watch television on down time

Yelp
I am so glad we chose this adorable motel! The renovation they did is so well done. The decor is as perfect as the location. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the things we needed. The rate was very reasonable for the area. We were just across the street from the entrance to the beach and in walking distance to the grocery store & restaurants, as well as the pier. My only complaint is that the pillows were a little too fluffy! Haha We CAN NOT wait to go back and we will 100% be staying with the incredibly friendly & helpful staff at The Royal Palms.

Yelp
I wish I could give this motel a higher rating...five wasn't even good enough. The staff are wonderful. We were there on our Anniversary and we were not disappointed. The room was really cute. The pool was great. I would not hesitate to go back and as a matter of fact plan to as soon as possible!

Yelp
TERRIFIC VALUE!!!!!! The room was nicely air conditioned, the price was as low as I could get on the island, the staff was professional and helpful, the pool was clean, it's a very short walk to either the beach or the local grocery store, and the other guests were mostly families and extremely friendly. I had people offering me burgers and beer the whole time I was there! :) My room and the grounds in general were very clean. There are lovely seating areas for those who want to avoid direct sun also. Another pleasant surprise was the refrigerator; it wasn't normal kitchen size of course, but larger than the tiny "dorm size" little ones. There was a microwave too. Being walking distance to a grocer made this vacation very affordable so much so that I am taking another one next month. They also allow small grills (hence my "neighbors" offering me food which was super cool) Forget the fancy condos; this is where I'll stay on future visits.

Yelp
Sweet staff but way over priced and room smelt of mildew/mold :/ location was fine but wouldn't stay again

Jane S.

Yelp
Adorable motel with great value in an awesome location! The rooms were cute and comfortable and we were within close walking distance of the beach and the grocery store. My only complaint is low water pressure in the shower, but other than that a perfect choice!

Yelp
FIVE STARS FOR SAVINGS IN A TRUBLED ECONOMY I had a great time at Tybee Island this weekend! I really enjoyed my savings when I stayed at the Royal Palm Motel. I give this place an A+ for the low price and the excellent management. In these tough times with gas prices shooting sky high it is wonderful thing when you can find great savings to make vacation time a little more affordable. This is just what I found in The Royal Palm Motel. If you are like me and are just looking for a nice clean place to hang your hat at a great value while you enjoy the beach, the shops and the fun in town then you may want to hang your hat at the Royal Palm on your next trip to Tybee Island. There is also a nice clean pool to relax by. The distance is just a tad bit further from town but an enjoyable walk or the perfect distance for a bike ride. A penny saved is a penny earned. ~ Benjamin Franklin

Yelp
I am going to start by giving the Royal Palm Motel a 3 star review. My family has been coming to this motel every trip to Tybee we have ever taken. My parents as well. This past week makes about the 5th stay and unfortunately the final stay. I am aware that you cannot help who books the rooms but you most certainly can help who stays. The guest that took over the pool area this last week were loud, inconsiderate of the other guests, cursing in front of the kids and in the pool way past 11pm. The office staff said something 1 time about not doing backflips while we were in the pool. This went on for the an entire week. When they started talking about "Negro" that's when I decided to take my kids inside. I have never felt more uncomfortable. That's my most major complaint... The rooms are becoming very outdated. The carpet flooring is disgustingly dirty so much so you cannot wear white socks. The bottoms of your feet become very filthy! Sad to say we won't be returning to the Royal Palms, which is sad for me. This used to be a very family friendly place to come

Yelp
My wife and I recently stayed at the Royal Palm Motel while closing on a house on Tybee Island, and we were very happy with our spotless room, the reasonable rates, and the friendly, welcoming staff. We highly recommend the Royal Palm Motel.

Yelp
I loved this older motor inn. It was close enough to everything including a grocery store. The lady that owns it is super sweet and helpful. The price was awesome.

Yelp
My sisters and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The room isn't perfect, but the price is and the beds were clean and comfy. Plenty of hot water for three back to back showers, plenty of towels (you do have to ask for extras but they will happily give you all you need) and the air conditioning worked great. The pool was clean and the staff was very friendly. It's a short walk to the beach or you can pay to park closer or pay to ride the hopper. If you're considering a trip to Tybee but are on a tight budget, you should check out the classic Royal Palm!

Yelp
This is an older motel but is SO CLEAN! We stayed in a single double room which, was very small but perfect for our short getaway. Staff was very polite and always made sure we had everything we needed. Pool was very clean and it was very convenient location to the pier and a short walk to the beach. Will be returning.
