I've been visiting the Royal Park Hotel for years and really love how they have elevated their guest experience more than ever before. Their team members really give extra attention to detail. It's always so wonderful working with them. I recently had the pleasure of working with Meredith, Michelle, Chef Eric and the event team to help plan a big event in 2 weeks. It went so smoothly, from the food presentation to the cleanliness of the space and accommodations for all the guests especially being so last minute, nothing was missed. Thank you for all that you did Royal Park!

We recently stayed at the Royal Park Hotel for a lacross tournament. The team stayed elsewhere, but we wanted a place that was charming & a bit more upscale. The Royal Park was exactly that. They were incredibly welcoming from the moment we entered the hotel. The grounds were decorated for Christmas and the interior was beautiful. Our room (king no balcony), was ample with a sitting area, great marble bathroom (shower only, no bath), large closet and beautiful furniture. The only negative is that house keeping didn't come our first day, so our waters were not refreshed and our room was not made up. Not a big deal. The bar/restaurant had a wonderful prickly pear margarita and the breakfast was terrific (eggs benedict). The nightly rate is below many hotels we would normally stay, so we were thrilled with this. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is settled just behind the beautiful smaller town of Rochester Hills. The property is stunning with a European Boutique feel with great customer service from the front desk, housekeeping & the Park 600 restaurant. The hotel rooms are lovely and the Hotel offers great room promotions. We spent 4 nights at the property for our son's wedding. We had family in from out of town. The hotel setting added to our family event. We were able to take walks around downtown Rochester & around the property that is nestled along the Paint Creek River. This hotel is a cut above with a definite a small town feel. I highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of attending the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce Silver & Gold Awards at the Royal Park Hotel, and the entire experience was outstanding. The event was beautifully organized, featuring exceptional service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a stunning holiday setup perfect for networking and community engagement. As part of M1 Concourse, a proud chamber sponsor and active member, I joined hundreds of local professionals and business leaders to celebrate nominees who are making a real impact in the Auburn Hills business community. The venue was immaculate, the staff was attentive, and the program ran seamlessly from start to finish. If you’re looking for a premier event venue in Oakland County, a professional networking opportunity, or a business community celebration that highlights leadership and excellence, the Silver & Gold Awards at the Royal Park Hotel is truly top-tier. Highly recommend attending future chamber events for anyone looking to connect, grow, and support local businesses.

We had a nice stay for our anniversary, they were even able to have a bottle of champagne, glasses, and a red rose in our room before we arrived. It was delicious. The window view of the river on a winter morning was beautiful. The bathroom was a little dirty, but the space was huge. So many pillows. It was a nice room for the night

Overall a nice stay. We stayed for a family birthday celebration that was quite nicely done. Rooms and property were beautiful (beautiful showers + chaise lounge in room!) and very clean. Nice toiletries. It seems they have many events and that’s the primary focus. Friday night arrival was a madhouse, with only one bellman, and the front desk agent not super friendly. They should staff up more for these busy times. All other staff were very welcoming. Had some good drinks at the bar. It’d be nice to only charge for valet parking with it being a suburban property. Nice to walk or make the short drive into downtown for the cute shops and restaurants.

We held our wedding reception at the Royal Park Hotel Conservatory and we were very happy with their service. Luana Arnaut, the wedding coordinator at RPH was very professional and attentive to our needs. The venue was gorgeous at night, and the food was delicious, especially the hors d'oeuvres.

My family and I heard about the holiday pop up bar and had to come experience it for ourselves. It did not disappoint food and drinks were delicious. The decor was outstanding so many cute photo ops! Our friendly server truly was the cherry top thank you Veronica! Highly recommending to anyone who is getting in the Christmas spirit!

Yelp
We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and quiet. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and the service was excellent. One evening there was a large event, parking was very difficult. The restaurant too was just overwhelmed. I thought the hotel management should have alerted guests or had a better valet plan. Room service did a great job helping us get dinner despite the big restaurant waits. Overall we really enjoyed the hotel. Recommend to others.

Yelp
This review is only for its (wedding? banquet?) facilities. A friend had her engagement dinner in the conservatory last night, and it was a wonderful and beautiful venue. I had seen the Royal Park Hotel before but never been in - the lobby is gorgeous as well, and a front desk staffer directed me to the conservatory, which is directly behind it. I've also heard they have a nice restaurant on site, so I'm hoping to come back and experience that, at some point. All of the catered food at the conservatory was tasty, as well - we had appetizers, salad, and I had an herb chicken dish, I believe. Waitstaff was very courteous and when I went up to the bar to get a Diet Coke, they asked how everything was tasting, etc., even though I wasn't the hostess of the party; nice customer service. My engaged friend said that they originally looked at Royal Park as a wedding venue, but unfortunately the conservatory wasn't large enough for their number of guests - I'm glad they had their engagement dinner there, so I got to experience it. There were about 30 guests there last night but the space looked like it could fit more, I would guess 40-50 total, easily, and possibly even more. Based on this experience, I'd love to come back to the hotel either to dine or to stay overnight.

Yelp
We stayed the weekend at Royal Park and for the most part were very happy. We accidentally upgraded ourselves to a suite which was very nice but odd that in a large suite there is only one king bed, no pull out couch. No biggie though! While a tad outdated (although we noticed rooms are being remodeled!) the room was very well kept. While we were here there were tons of events making it a very busy place. We decided to do valet for the trip because there was no parking to be found. It worked well and the valet staff was as nice and hardworking as the come, but it definitely adds up needing to come and go from the hotel with some frequency. The downfall of the hotel is the onsite restaurant. We went around 9pm on Friday (it was pretty empty at this point) and our first bartender was quite rude, he took our order and then immediately handed us the bill (poor taste). Our drinks came maybe 8 minutes later, and then he left. Eventually the other bartender realized we were still missing an appetizer. After much back and forth we asked to cancel and she kindly offered us a free drink, well then the manager still brought the app out (55 minutes after we ordered it) and charged us for it. We were very shocked by that, just terrible customer service. The woman working behind the bar was the only saving grace that night. We grabbed drinks on Saturday too, and had a similar experience with the single order of fries taking just over 40 minutes, no apologies or accommodations made. Definitely recommend the hotel, but I would make other plans for eating!

Yelp
The building is new and beautiful. The grounds and building are clean. The staff is friendly. The restaurant has the best pizza in Michigan. Only problem is no pool.

Yelp
Our first trip to the Park Hotel for dinner. What a treat! First, the environment is stunning. Tables are well-placed to ensure an intimate dining experience (around the windows; bar area is livelier). Our family of three enjoyed a leisurely, long dinner and felt free time do so. The hotel itself is so beautiful. We enjoyed taking in the dusk sky and watching the lights in and around the hotel come to life. Our wait staff was patient, kind and attentive. Clearly well trained and looked comfortable with his role. Our food was superb. The crab appetizer was hot, creamy and just the right amount of flavor so as not to overtake the crab. The French onion soup was thick, full of onions and lots of melted cheese. My husband said his mushroom soup was perfect. My scallop entree was gorgeous. It was light, full of flavor and the scallops were soft. My husband enjoyed his pork chop and I tasted his sweet potato mash. The jalapeño peppers and honey added a delicious, savory flavor. My daughter had a Caesar salad with salmon. It looked so fresh and was enough for two meals. Though we were stiffed, we shared the opera cake. I was so surprised at how delicious it was. Chocolaty-smooth, espresso accents and moist with liqueur. The tab was what would be expected from such a wonderful dining experience for three, $185 plus tip. For a special occasion (we were celebrating our daughter's birthday) it was lovely.

Yelp
I booked two rooms at the Royal Park Hotel to make my daughter and husband's visit to Michigan special. Each room was over $500 for just one night, so I expected excellent service to match the high price. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but. First, we were surprised by an additional $20 parking fee per car -- an unnecessary charge on top of the already steep room rates. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, which was also highly priced. While the servers were kind and accommodating, the food was underwhelming. I had been told we would receive a dining credit, but when checking out, I was informed the credit only applies if you aren't staying at the hotel. In other words: if you pay more, you get nothing back; if you pay less, you get a discount. That policy makes no sense. To make matters worse, at checkout we were hit with an additional $15 per room "amenities charge." When I asked what this was for, I was told: Wi-Fi, AC, etc. I honestly had to laugh -- isn't that the absolute minimum one expects from any hotel stay? Should I expect a fee for breathing next time? For making the reservation itself? By that point, we just wanted to leave. I even forgot my phone charger in the room, but couldn't bring myself to go back -- I half expected there would be a charge for retrieving it. For the cost, this hotel should have provided quality service and value. Instead, it felt like every step of the way came with an extra fee, poor communication, and disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not be returning.

Yelp
What an absolutely amazing night!! My sister threw me a 50th surprise party in one of their suites. We started off with a larger party at Rochester Mills, and then a smaller group of about 30, walked over to the hotel. Originally she booked a suite with a balcony, but apparently a bride and groom stayed an extra night so they didn't have the room available. This hotel has EVERYTHING!! First of all the hotel is gorgeous! Definitely 5 star value! The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The grounds are huge. You can go out and sit by the creek, you can fish, you can get pictures, etc. They have a gazebo for your use as well. But a really cool touch, is the fire pits! You can make a fire and sit out and enjoy it. They have multiple event rooms of various sizes. A wedding here would be amazing. I will say though, that the rooms are excessively pricey. There aren't any other nearby hotels. So keep this in mind if you have an event where you want people to stay the night. The theme of my party was "Pretty in Pink." And everything was pink themed. Even all my guests were required to wear pink in some capacity! All of my guests complied, with the exception of one of my besties, who doesn't own anything that isn't black. Ha. Even the men were in pink! My bestie of 45 years flew in from Virginia to help me celebrate and all of the most important people in my life were there! We woke up in the morning and headed for brunch. I was definitely in need of some "hair of the dog" at that point. Haha. This was a perfect night and I am so grateful to everyone who was involved in making my day special! My birthday month is ending but when your birthday is in June, you get to celebrate all summer. Hah. Cheers to summer adventures!

Yelp
Place is beautiful but salad at the restaurant was mixed with mayo. Yuck! Also left several messages with the event coordinator and she never calls back. Pushed me off to someone else.

Yelp
We made a Sunday brunch reservation for 1pm with 9 people to celebrate my aunts birthday. At 1:45 the waitress informed us that this is "last call" because they close at 2pm. Don't take a 1pm reservation if you stop serving alcohol and food at 2pm especially for a large group. Our food did not come out until 1:45pm. The Bloody Mary was delicious, unfortunately I only had time to order 1. I enjoyed my avocado toast. The rest of the group did not seem to be impressed with their meals. We brought a cake but no one asked if we wanted coffee or tea.

Yelp
We reserved and prepaid a Junior Suite in JANUARY, 2024 for a 6/9/24 check in. Upon arrival, after observing some mysterious glances exchanged between the two ladies at the reception desk, we were told we were receiving a room upgrade. We were NOT told that some, apparently newly hired and inexperienced, person had given our room away and that no Junior Suites were available. We had specifically chosen a Junior Suite because we wanted a balcony overlooking Paint Creek. When we got to our "upgraded" room (#444) we discovered a) it had no balcony, b) it overlooked the parking lot, c) the fireplace did not work and d) the shower was obviously meant for disabled people inasmuch as it had roll-in capability, a plastic shower curtain and some sort of fold-down seat... not the tempered glass shower door we had seen pictured online in the Junior Suite. We called the Front Desk and requested we be moved to a Junior Suite. Again, we were NOT told that ours had been given away and that none were available. We were offered "a different room with a balcony." When we got to that room (#229?) we discovered that it was not a Junior Suite, rather a fairly standard looking room... not at all what we had reserved and paid for almost five months ago! We again called the Front Desk and asked for someone to come to the room. The lady (Amanda?) arrived and we politely asked if this was a Junior Suite. Finally, we were told the truth... no, it was not a Junior Suite and, yes, someone had inappropriately given our room away and, no, there were no Junior Suites available... in fact, this was the ONLY room available. We asked to be refunded our money and said we would rather leave than accept this room. Amanda said she did not have the authority to refund our payment. We politely requested she call her manager and get that authorization. She left. She returned about 15 minutes later and said we would receive a full refund. (Note: Over 72 hours later, as of this writing, we see no evidence of that refund on our credit card website) The final indignity was when Amanda said her manager had asked her to tell us that she hoped this incident would not prevent us from staying at the hotel in the future. We made no reply... but can assure whoever may be reading this, that we would absolutely not ever consider doing so. This room was booked for the purpose of seeing and dining with family and friends, some of whom we had not seen in over 15 years, AND because today is my 70th birthday... which I am spending in a beautiful room in a Marriott hotel in Troy, Michigan, the manager of which personally greeted us when we walked in on Sunday evening and who, after hearing our sad story about the Royal Park Hotel, provided us with an upgraded room at no additional charge. I can't adequately express how disappointed my wife and I are in our experience at the Royal Park Hotel. We had planned five days of events in and around the Rochester area and now find ourselves traveling a half hour each way on a daily basis to and from the Marriott to these events. We realize that mistakes happen but being gaslighted by the staff as to the real reason we were being "upgraded" was the epitome of unprofessional conduct. We wasted over an hour of our time at this hotel that evening as a result of their incompetence. Buyer beware!

Yelp
Pop up bar was beautiful. Don't wait in line. Gouda dip was sub par. We left it. Drinks were $$$

Yelp
I attended a funeral luncheon last Friday at the hotel. It was a lovely event and I am sure it was expensive. There were over 100 people in attendance. Many of us came out of event to find we had received $30 parking tickets! Apparently there are intermittent signs that it costs $10 to park in the hotel parking lot. I did not see a sign where I parked. When you are attending a funeral luncheon you are grieving and not in your best frame of mind. For the hotel to take advantage of that and try and make $20 off of people is terrible.

Yelp
The rooms are beautiful as the rest of the hotel. But the staff could do a better job on INFORMING guests of the services they DO and DO NOT OFFER. We weren't able to rent bikes which was THE ACTIVITY we PLANNED TO DO ALL DAY. We weren't able to enjoy a fire outside as we were told "they were closed". Uh? I booked a 300$ for 12 hours you COULD make an accommodation as that's exactly what your site advertised? None of the site information is accurate AT ALL. I GET that on a SUNDAY you probably don't want to accommodate the only 1 of 3 rooms with guests...but maybe do a better job of informing your guests what IS AND IS NOT available to do prior to booking. They seemed to not want to TAKE THE TIME to go out of their way to do anything at all. I thought a "5 star hotel" would at least have a working ice machine. Guess not. We are came a long distance to stay here and thought we'd have plenty of activities to do. It was a shame that HUGE TRAIL behind the hotel couldn't be explored on BIKES. Isn't that the WHOLE POINT of having a location ON THE RIVER on Paint Creek trail? If you're spending 300$ on a room and over 400$ on dinner for a large group of people...you'd THINK they'd want you to spend MORE MONEY renting bikes. Guess not. Don't tell us over the phone ONE THING and another when we arrive and then roll your eyes as if WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. Kind of a stuffy place with uppity condescending staff. The only staff that were pleasant was the two UP FRONT who checked us in and the nice man who checked us out...figure. "Welcome oh we're so happy you're here" and "I'll be MORE THAN HAPPY to check you OUT" But when it comes to ANYTHING ELSE, there's a million excuses why you CANT HELP US.

Yelp
Just to say this hotel beautiful is an understatement! The restaurant and bar inside adds to the wonderful atmosphere. Sitting by the fire sipping tea or a lite alcoholic beverage peering out the beautiful windows is so relaxing! Everything is within walking distance of downtown Rochester.

Tori M.

Yelp
Staff not accommodating whatsoever. I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday and EVERY STEP OF THE WAY we had problem after problem. We arrived at 3:50pm April 7th and we're told the OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING we were promised over the phone before we booked. No bike rental upon arrival. Then? No working ice machine! Then? At dinner the server gave us attitude over bringing a cake and told us she wouldn't cut our cake. Then! Later that night? We were told we needed an "engineer " to light the fire outside by the river. LOL. You people are absolutely ridiculous . Did I MENTION we spent 300$ for 1 night and over 200$ in room service? Did I also mention it took them 40 minutes to send a drink and appetizer to my room making me LATE for dinner with my family? The hotel is beautiful and I loved the rooms. But you guys didn't make me or MY MOTHER comfortable AT ALL. Completely misled and lied to her. If you didn't want to accommodate SIMPLE requests then don't have an attitude when WE WERE THE ONES told one thing over the phone WHEN WE BOOKED and because of this? Our entire plan was ruined step by step. You guys KNEW why we were there. My mother booked this for me. You guys lied to her and then made ME THE BIRTHDAY girl feel like an a**hole. Don't lie to get a booking. Be honest and maybe we wouldn't have problems. For god sake- we couldn't even get ICE. Do better.

Yelp
We've made 3 trips to the Royal Park Hotel over the last 3 years. The hotel is old school grand, to say the least, with amazing grounds and beautiful views no matter where you are situated in the hotel. The staff are always accommodating and food on site is amazing, albeit it is pricey. If you want options, there are plenty just a short walk into town (really short walk - 2-3 blocks) with plenty of cafes, bars and excellent restaurants. The rooms, while well appointed, are starting to get a bit worn here and there and it would be nice to see this lovely hotel get a bit of a facelift to keep her looking her best. Perhaps more amenities in each room like a coffee maker and kettle would bring her up to date as well. The long trek to the lobby just for a cup of coffee in the morning is a drag. Otherwise, grand she is.

Yelp
On Monday August, 3rd I had to spend another night here last minute as construction forced me to leave my residence unexpectedly - I had 30 minutes to pack a bag or force waiting another week or two for this construction to be rescheduled so I packed my stuff up and got out of there. I called ahead at 9:00 AM and asked if they had any openings to get me in right away and thankfully they did, she took my info down - found me in their system and I told them my estimated arrival time (about 30 minutes) and Marsha warmly greeted me at the front desk. I asked for late checkout because I wasn't going to know how many nights I needed here until 12:00 the next day which is when normally checkout is and was granted the 1:00PM checkout instead. The room was a lot smaller this time around - but the AC worked thankfully and the view was a lot better. The ice machine down the hallway worked which was great because the mini-fridge couldn't cool anything to save its life. Restaurant was also closed which they are closed on all Monday's now so no room service either - Kroger is about a 10 minute drive away at most though and plenty of other restaurants downtown Rochester which is a short 10 minute walk. Make sure to ask for a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and two extra bars of soap while you're checking in otherwise you gotta come back down the next day and get them. Theres one small soap in the bathroom and thats it - for one person and one night it might be enough but it was almost gone after my two showers and hand washing the next day so I'd ask right away to avoid having to go back down and get some. All in all this is my go to hotel in Michigan when needed. Haven't really been disappointed too much. I forget who checked me out (maybe her name was Jessica) but I needed a hard copy of my receipt and she was gracious and kind as well. Thanks Marsha and Jessica for the last minute help! I'm sure I'll see you again...

Yelp
If I could, I would give them 0 stars. If you are traveling and need to get a good night sleep... stay away from this place. They only care about their wedding guests. Loud music coming out of the reception! I waited till 10pm then 11pm still loud. Finally we called the reception... they said it will end at 12am. They offer either some ear plugs or to move as... ear plugs??? I shouldn't have to plug my ears to get some sleep, especially when it's over $300+ a night! Also, in my case having some medical equipment, not easy to move everything at midnight. it's now 12:30 am.... music as loud as it was. Veryt disappointing, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
I live downtown Rochester and usually experience good service at the bar. However, when my wife and I were walking the dogs I ran inside to grab some drinks which proved to be an impossible feat. I was wearing an athletic t shirt, not a dress shirt. I believe this caused me to stand idly by and be ignored for 10 minutes when I finally got up from my bar seat and left. There was only one couple at the bar and a few walk up customers. So just a heads up to anyone going there, you have to dress up or you'll be ignored.

Yelp
Our company held a series of Board meetings and an International Gala at the Royal Park Hotel in June 2023. Their team took excellent care of everyone and made the event an enjoyable and memorable experience. Service was excellent and they were flexible to accommodate our needs. Thanks you to Johnson and your team for taking great care of us! Bob.

Yelp
I was here once for a wedding and recalled the food being good during the reception. I was looking forward to tonight's event. We sat at a 2-top by the bar, close to the terrace. We were warmly welcomed with a sample shot of the dancing bee Patron, which was tasty. The food samples were all of their HH feature items: crispy cauliflower, kettle chips and dip, deviled eggs, citrus roasted olives, margarita flatbread, ahi tuna poke. I thought we were wrapping up the tasting event with bananas fosters pie. Chef Mark came out to show us how he plates the dessert. He sliced up the bananas still in the skins, powdered the slices with sugar and flamed them to a caramelized and crispy brown color. He then used a silver container to dip it into chocolate to create a designed decorated base for the plate, along with strategically placed dots of the banana foster sauce and ended the plating session with 2 star shaped chocolate mousse. I thought the dessert was it, but then the key lime with the caramel cup came out for round two of plating 101. Every dish sample, along with the flatbread and desserts were delicious. I loved the their Greektown and margarita flatbread, along with the crispy cauliflower and deviled egg. The bourbon bacon jam was praise worthy by my hubby. I didn't eat the tuna poke, since I don't eat raw fish. This place is causing pure unadulterated gluttony this evening. They just brought out the beignets with caramel, chocolate and strawberry syrups. Last but not least the flourless chocolate tort, right up my GF heart's content alley. It wasn't dry and certainly calorie worthy and quite moist too. This is the second elite Yelp event I have been able to make it to, but so far it's my favorite. I loved the close up and personal interaction with the manager and chefs and waitstaff too. I spoke too soon, the last plating was the strawberry cheesecake. Chef Mark enlightened us that the desserts should be accompanied with a bit of crunch, graham cracker crunch for the cheesecake and strawberry chunk sauce. He likes the accompaniments to be an ingredient that's inside the dish he's plating.

Yelp
The Royal Park used to have the most amazing reputation. We used to live downtown Rochester, and even stayed at the Royal Park on our wedding night 7 years ago. We chose to stay the weekend here while needing to come back to MI for my husbands grandmothers funeral. It cost us $1,500 to check in Friday- Tuesday. What a horrible experience. We got into town around 8pm Friday. No one was at the door to help with our luggage cart or valet the car. We were starving, and had saved our appetite because we used to love eating at the RP. We were told by the front desk that they were serving food (late night menu) until 10. We got to the restaurant around 8:30 after dropping our luggage off and changing. We were told by the restaurant staff that they were not serving food anymore, when we asked about pizza they reluctantly agreed to make us one. We ordered the mushroom pizza, but the server gave us a pepperoni one instead. We didn't want to make a fuss, so we just ate it. It tasted like microwave pizza from Kroger. The wait staff pretty much ignored us, used crass language, and we had to ask for our bill twice. Our room was not any better. It wasn't clean when we checked in. And I'm pretty sure the "king bed" was a queen mattress on a king bed frame. I have attached pictures from our room. I have blonde hair..... We should have stayed in Birmingham. Will not be making this mistake again.

Yelp
Everything for our event was handled wonderfully! The food was amazing, with traditional turkey, salmon, roasted winter vegetables, haricot vert with carrots, two salads, and the best part - the potato bar. Whipped sweet potatoes or halved baked potatoes with any imaginable topping from maple syrup to cheese and bacon - every guest was impressed! The pottted desserts were also a hit. Nancy, our banquet bartender was amazing at keeping up with our party! For the lobby decor and staff, I would give a 5 star rating during the holidays! I had a beverage in Park 600 prior to our event starting and the bartenders were friendly and talkative with the guests. My room was clean, linens, towels, amenities, all top notch. But as the event planner, putting me next to an elevator and a maid's closet was not the best spot. There was constant noise. That is the only thing that kept me from 5 start rating overall. Treat your planners!!!

Yelp
Great place. They hosted our post wedding brunch and did a great job. Also a nice stop for lunch along the Paint Creek Trail.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting the Royal Park Hotel. The drive into Rochester around rush hour was hectic, but once I was in view of the stunning Christmas lights blanketing downtown, I was instantly inna great mood. When I arrived at the Hotel I was surprised and impressed, its lovely. Upon walking into the main entrance I began smiling due to the massive gingerbread display for the Holiday season. Really cool for Christmas movie fan like myself. The woodwork and decor of the hotel are classic and sheik. I came to a dessert event showcasing the talents of their highly skilled dessert genius, Executive Pastry Chef Mark Slessor. Chef marked gave us a brief history of his culinary adventures and then walked out group through his brainstorming and processes of his pastry ideas. This was the most outstanding dessert experience I've ever had. Each dish was expertly crafted to balance different flavors profiles at the same time. They use gourmet ingredients from around the world and create art on a plate. I can't say enough about it, I will be back to this grand hotel for dessert sometime soon. It's truly remarkable.

Yelp
Super clean room and grounds, feels fancy without pretension. Lots of Covid safety which I like. Great staff and unusually good pizza at the restaurant that I took to my room.

Yelp
This is where I want to stay every time we come to visit! We even witnessed a wedding taking place here, which I envy! Very beautifully appointed hotel. The lobby is gorgeous. Staff is friendly. Gym is a great size for the hotel. Place is well kept overall. There's even an amazing trail right next to it. You can rent bikes from here. This hotel is very close to downtown Rochester, which is so super cute. Our room was huge and had a large terrace overlooking the stream and downstairs eatery. Can't wait for our next stay!

Yelp
Well, this is definitely a very nice property...in a stunning location. I love the fact that I can go for a run, right from the hotel and pick up two very distinguished trail systems for South-East Michigan. It's truly nestled away in a beautiful setting. That said, for a plush property such as this, I wish I had a few more amenities in the room...like coffee. It's a little thing I know, but being an early riser and having to wait for the coffee maker to arrive in the am, can be a bit selfishly painful, especially traveling from the west, to east. Again, it's a gorgeous property...with many nice catering amenities.

Yelp
We began our evening at the bar prior to our dinner reservations. We had a party of 10 people in which the hostess complained our party was too large. Even though we were in the corner and not in anyone's way. However, that did not stop them from serving us our overpriced drinks with minimal alcohol. As we were seated for dinner, our waiter presented us with a limited menu due to our "party" size, now at 11 people. Ironically, the preset menu included all high priced items. As our group was visibly annoyed. We asked if we could just order a few pizza's (since they had our credit card) and be on our way. After the waiter checked with the kitchen, they would only allow us to order cheese or pepperoni pizza. Apparently, ordering other toppings would send the kitchen staff into a downward spiral and ruin their life. Suffice it to say, we will not be frequenting the bar or restaurant in the future.

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels/restaurants! Went for dinner with my friend of 39 years. Our server, Cathy (my name also), was amazing! All of our food & drinks were delicious! Excellent service & highly recommended!

Yelp
I went to brunch last Sunday and was not happy because my food was cold. I gave 1 star, but will return this weekend to give them another shot, because of the sincerity of their response. I know everyone is short of staff, and we're all still recovering from the plandemic. But I believe in being fair and supporting local businesses. Go and check out their decorations. It's a beautiful Hotel in a Rochester where my Neely relatives have lived since the 1850s. We all deserve a second chance.

Yelp
Very disappointed! Got 2 rooms here for what was supposed to be an awesome stay at this hotel during the holidays but wont make this mistake again. We stayed here on Saturday 12/3. First off according to the website and the rooms we booked we were supposed to have a beautiful view of downtown Rochester. Wrong we got a view of the parking lot and an empty field. Then according to their ad they had an adjacent holiday bar open to enjoy. Wring again. We try ed to go there to enjoy a cocktail and we told it was closed for a private party. Lastly there was some event going on and in the middle of the night drunks were running down our hallway making a ton of noise. Three strikes and you are out. Will be sharing our experience with others to avoid paying for this over-priced under-performing hotel

Yelp
One of the best hotels in Michigan! Even if you are not staying at the hotel, I highly recommend stopping in for a dinner, drinks or even a dessert! The desserts are out of this world! Also if you stop in around the holidays the hotel gives a donation to The Salvation Army from every dessert purchase.

Yelp
STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES! I am SO disappointed in this hotel as a wedding venue. Firstly, the hotel was incredibly crowded with two different wedding events occurring at the same time, with only one bar available. BUT the biggest reason for this review is that eating at the venue almost caused me to go into anaphylactic shock due to their staff being unacknowledgeable. The staff was serving a "chicken satay", which to my understanding is just breaded chicken. There were no labels or titles on the appetizers being served, meaning every guest had to ask what each dish was. I picked up a piece of the chicken on a stick and asked the server "is this just breaded chicken", to which the reply was "yes". After taking one bite, I knew instantly that the food contained some form of nuts. I turned back to the same server and asked what is in the breading, to which they responded "coconut crusted chicken". Hmmm. I'm not allergic to coconut, so I knew that something was wrong. Within a few minutes, I was vomiting and shaking, then starting to lose consciousness. I had to be taken to the ER and given a shot of epinephrine, then stayed until the late night, causing me to miss the entire wedding reception. The next day, another guest with tree nut allergies told me that the server said the dish was "pecan coconut chicken". At this point, it was clear that the servers had no idea what they were serving, because the dish was said to be chicken satay, then coconut crusted chicken, then pecan crusted chicken. Finally, I emailed the hotel asking their food policies regarding allergies, because I was considering taking legal action. A manager named Sue called me that same day asking for general information on the event, and I told her the story. Sue finally confirmed the dish was actually cashew coconut chicken, and promised that she would call me back with more information within the next few days. A week later, I had not heard anything back from Sue and no one had reached out. I called back, and was told that a manager would be in touch to discuss. This morning, Sue got back in touch with me, however she was far less than helpful. Sue began the conversation by saying, "well our initial conversation was only a week ago and I needed to do some research"....her attitude already made me feel like a bother to her. She then continued to say that the groom's mother planned the entire event and should have specified allergies to tree nuts. When I responded asking why the servers gave me three different answers regarding the ingredients, Sue said I should have been more specific when asking them. Excuse me? I understand the server could have misunderstood the question "is this just chicken on a stick". However, what are the reasons for the servers then saying the dish was coconut, then pecans, then cashews? If I knew from the start that I had ingested cashews, I could have more effectively treated my allergy from the start. I am SO upset at this situation. The wedding was rescheduled twice, I had driven over 5 hours to be there, and saw only the ceremony. All of this because the servers had no idea what they were serving to guests. AND, how in 2021 are you still mass serving a dish without any label or indication what is on/in the dish? Sue could have offered any assistance at all to me, but instead she made me feel like it was my fault for missing this entire event, and a bother for bringing it up to her. She said that since I am considering taking legal action, she will no longer speak with me. There would not have been a need for any legal action if the hotel staff were informed, and if Sue could have offered any form of help. I would never come to this hotel again, nor recommend any wedding event.

Yelp
Untrained host. 5 booths open refused to seat us on any of them staring they are all reserved. An hour later booths still available. Spoke to the shift manager on my way out and he see the empty booths. They prefer to have them empty. I canceled my 250 people Christmas party on my way out. Michael, I left you a voice mail 3 days ago and I also called and left two messages to (248) 453-8767 and neither one returned the call. I have no choice but contacting Fairwood capital. Since the hotel was sold seems like quality of service and management focus on customers have been dropped.

Yelp
It's just a shadow of its former self! I never had to open the front doors before this trip! There were always valets to open the doors and greet you with a smile and a welcome! NOT ANYMORE! The front doors are heavy and no one is there to help. One person works the front desk and doesn't know what is going on in other parts of the hotel. The once beautiful rooms are now lit with low wattage yellow lights to hide the places they now don't dust. For example the door handles may be wiped clean but not the woodwork above or below. The bathrooms once beautiful marble and white grout isn't. The grout is all different shades of brown and chipped on both the floor and shower. The shower is only warm water. The dining rooms once double layered linen tables set for each meal and waiters dressed in black with long aprons have replaced with painted and dented bar tables and one waitress in a Denny style dress who was very nice. The menu used to draw in locals for all meals Won't ANYMoRE and I'd recommend Recipes and Sliver Spoon to experience the type of dining that once graced this place. It WAS a place that was fun to stay NOT ANYMORE! It's now a low TwoStar hotel now. It's so sad especially since I know what famous musicians stayed there in the past.

Yelp
Really disappointed the last 3 times I ate there the food had gone downhill while the prices only went up. I got the steak kabobs and legit the meat tasted like it went bad I also had brunch twice there with watered down peach Bellinis and mimosas don't waste your money there. The room service Caesar salad was the only good think worth mentioning

Yelp
Do you believe in fairy tales? Well, I most certainly do! The Royal Park Hotel is the setting for this fantasy! Walking through the doors of this beautiful hotel, one is treated like royalty. It is absolutely charming from the lobby to the cozy study off the main entrance. The crackling fire from the study lures you in and the comfy couches invite you to stay. As with every fairy tale, the plot involves love and romance between the Queen and her King! Staying at the Royal Park is now a tradition for us. We were celebrating January a very special month for both of us. The past two years, the Royal Park has been our finale. We enjoy booking a King Suite with balcony access. Even though it's cold, we always find time to step outside and enjoy the sounds of the little creek that runs next to the hotel and breathe in fresh winter air. The balcony is quite large and we plan to come back on a warm summer's night to relax and drink some wine on the balcony; it truly is quite charming. As for the room, it is spacious and the bathroom is impressive from the white, marble title to the overall decor and amenities. The hotel has an outstanding restaurant and bar, Park 600. We enjoy hanging out in our room, relaxing, ordering room service and then heading down for a fabulous meal and fantastic drinks. (I will post a review of Park 600). The staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you are adventurous, downtown Rochester is only steps away and we find it to be quite convenient for a day of shopping or simply hopping around. Rochester has become one of my favorite places to visit, especially during the holiday time. As with every fairy tale, the chapter comes to an end....and if you're lucky enough, there will be a sequel!

Yelp
When traveling for work I stayed at this hotel and had a chance to eat the hotel restaurant. This review is long overdue but I had to still write it. The hotel itself is very clean and the decor comes off as very presidential. The rooms are big but the furniture is a bit outdated. The restaurant it's nice when I dined there I sat on the outside patio. I had the smoked whiskey lobster and shrimp with risotto and asparagus. I normally don't eat lobster but for some reason I decided to try it here bc it was smoked with whiskey and I was pleasantly surprised. Because of this dish I started to like lobster (depending on how it's prepared). I had a great stay here and would visit again if I'm ever in town.

Yelp
NO housekeeping if you staying 4 nights or less. Restaurant waitress took 25 minutes to get to our table If you want to pay for a bed and bathroom you can find many other places

Yelp
I recently completed my second stay at the Royal Park Hotel. I honestly can't remember my first stay, as it was years ago, and I have since begun working in the hospitality industry so hotel stays are now more memorable to me than they were then. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel, and I feel that is what you pay for: beauty. There were also areas of opportunity. Pros: Light-filled guestrooms with windows that open (at least on the second floor) Nice balconies on some guestrooms. Comfortable bed with high-quality linens and plush feather pillows. A subtle, appealing scent in the guestroom. Lush landscaping and an enjoyable outdoor area with a firepit, outdoor games, and Adirondack chairs; the hotel is located next to a river and bike trail with appealing nature scenery. Upscale decor and furnishings. Timely in-room dining service and enjoyable food: Margherita pizza, chicken tenders, and fries met expectations. The four cheese macaroni and cheese exceeded expectations. Almond milk was available as creamer at the coffee service. Cons: There were no valet or bell staff members present upon arrival. The air outside the elevator on the second floor was freezing (and I mean freezing) cold. The guestroom temperature would not cool to the desired 68 degrees. There were brown stains on a bathroom towel. There was a broken concrete tile on the balcony that rocked when you stepped on it. There was a lack of complimentary amenities. For a higher-end hotel, I would expect complimentary bottled water (at the very least), instead of Fuji for sale at $5 per bottle. Other ideas would include a complimentary wine tasting or beer hour in the lobby, complimentary cookies and milk at night or s' more packages for the firepit, pastries to accompany the morning coffee/tea service, extra bathroom amenities beyond the standard soap/shampoo/conditioner, a welcome gift in the room, etc. There was no mini fridge, mini bar, or coffee maker in the guestroom. The key card reader in one of the elevators was not working properly on the first day of my stay.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful hotel, very swanky, woodwork, chandeliers, library with fireplace to go read in. Our room was nice modern comfort, lovely marble shower in bath big enough for 2. Within walking distance to downtown Rochester. They allowed me early check in, which I appreciate. There is a paved path by the river behind hotel. I took off 1 star, because they did not notify me that they charge an additional $50 "fee" for incidentals incase you spend $ at the hotel. I was told this would be refunded after a few days if I did not my use it. But I hate hidden charges and all of those should be fully disclosed at time of reservation. And it should be listed in hotel FAQ's online.

Steven S.

Yelp
Still waiting after over a month to get reimbursed for unauthorized charges on my account. The staff has been unapologetic, unhelpful and downright rude. I have spent hours trying to get this resolved when it should have been taken care of immediately. This used to be a great hotel but with the current management it really sucks.

Yelp
Husband surprised me with a night away for our anniversary and booked us a room here, everything about it was perfect. Valet treated us like gold, front desk staff was very pleasant. We ate at the the hotel restaurant and while it is pricey the food we ordered was delicious. We had a question about one of the ingredients and our server made sure to check with the cook even when we told him it was no big deal because we were just curious (truffle sauce, we're wondering what was in it). Our room was beautiful super clean and the bed was insanely comfortable! We were so impressed we are thinking about staying again next year for anniversary.

Yelp
This place deserves 0 stars. They should also stop trying to pass themselves off as a luxury hotel. The front desk girl is extremely rude and condescending. She did not want to help me at all. I was already disappointed I would have to spend the night here after our wedding reception after everything In Detroit was already booked, but was hopeful that they would provide service to alleviate our stay here. Most "luxury" hotels will offer some type of upgrades or accommodations for a wedding night/honeymoon and even anniversary. I was not calling to request any extra amenities or an upgrade, I had simply requested an early check in because I need to get ready in the hotel room before the wedding reception. Every single hotel I've ever stayed at has always been able to make those accommodations. All I asked for was an early check in and the front desk girl told me the only way to guarantee that was to book the night before. She did not want to help me at all. I'm very disappointed in the interaction I had and even more disappointed and sad that I have to stay here on my wedding night. Instead of looking forward to this night I am extremely stressed out and dreading my stay here.

Yelp
Very nice place, was attending a family celebration at the sunroom/banquet which was simply beautiful with a breathtaking outdoors. The food and service are just great! Stayed over night so we got to try the bar/restaurant as well which was nothing but great as well. We tried their pizza fresh out of the oven while sitting at the bar enjoying a couple of beers while watching the game on a big screen tv. The atmosphere it just great and tough to beat. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Thank you so much for accommodating us when our power went out. They were kind enough to give us a discount.
