Royal Peninsula Hotel

Very good value less than $30 with breakfast. Excellent staff and very friendly. On the edge of the tourist area but on 10 minus to the centre and Wararot mkt. Great View from the back rooms. Very quiet with few guests unless there is a group booking. We'll stay again when in Chiang Mai.

We had a pleasant stay at Royal Peninsula Hotel Chiang Mai. The location is excellent and very convenient to get around. The staff were friendly and kind, and we were able to get an early check-in, which we really appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were good for the price. Overall, a good hotel and great value for couples.

Good choice in Chiang Mai. Beds softer than most. Good breakfast choice (2 items from menu)Old hotel but has been well maintained. Friendly staff. Good vegetarian restaurant a couple of doors away. 5 minutes walk to the moat, 10 minutes to Warrorot mkt. Get a room at the back for a good mountain view. We will return here next time.

The room was not clean and it was badly cleaned. It felt old and not fresh. The reception staff were unprofessional and gave very poor service. We booked a room with a double bed, but they gave us the worst room with two separate beds. They blamed the agent, but the real problem was bad communication between their staff. When we pointed out the problem and asked for the room we paid for, a woman who seemed to be the manager was rude and careless. She smiled in a mocking way and said something in Thai that felt insulting, because she used the word “buffalo.” We were polite and calm when we asked for the correct room. Some staff were lying on the sofas playing on their phones with loud volume. When we walked past, it felt uncomfortable and like we were being stared at. The only helpful person was a young man working at the reception. If you work in customer service, you should treat your guests with respect and be more professional.

My 1st stay in this hotel was end Aug 2025, it's perfect. This time the 3rd week of Jan 2026, the feeling was different. I asked the receptionist a young lady (short haircut), if possible to arrange a room, away to the lift and not the direction to face the main road, same as last time i stayed here. She only said, the price will be different upon your room request she started to use the calculator , tried to tell the additional cost. I was definitely not happy and replied to her, just keep the same room as you plan to give me...of course, the room faced to the main road and much vehicles annoying noise in the every morning. Next time my return to Chiang Mai , i won't think about to stay here anymore.

Do not stay here. When booking venue said it could provide cribs for babies but when arrived they could not. This meant we had to pay an additinal cost to hire a crib whoch was jot refunded in any way. Most nights loud music comes from the restaurant bar where various events are hosted and staff don't take noise complaints at all seriously. One night was soo bad I Complained baby couldn't sleep at 10pm and nothing changed. If I could I would cancel and leave early the noise is absolutely disgraceful. The property is dirty and ants are present in the bathrooms even on the top floor. The decor is so tired and drabby the only positive is its close to the old city so you can easily walk in.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The room was disgusting and filthy, there was hair everywhere from previous people and the hotel didn't clean anything. The bed had a giant disgusting bloody stain on it, and there was dust and grime everywhere. Beware when you're booking, this hotel is extremely run down, there are stains everywhere (including on furniture, mattresses, carpets, everything). I was initially going to stay here for 4 days but checked out after an hour to find another hotel last minute, which was very stressful. The hotel photos online are nothing like it is in person. It's very rundown and gross, and grimy and dark. When I told the reception that the room was dirty, they didn't seem to care. Please please please avoid this hotel at all costs!!! This is the nastiest hotel that I've ever stepped foot in!

Room is not well insulated. You can hear people talking from next door. There are old shower head and all equipments. Need to upgrade. Very good service and location. Good deal for the price.
