"One of the perks of staying at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort is the opportunity to test your skills at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club, an 18-hole, par 71 course laid out along the island’s Caribbean coast. If you’re not a Marriott guest, however, head to the Irie Fields Golf Course at Kittitian Hill, where organic farms fringe the fairways. Designed by World Golf Hall of Famer Ian Woosnam, the course is maintained without pesticides or chemicals—if you see a herd of sheep grazing on the back nine, let them play through."

Played March 19, 2025. The ladies in the pro shop were probably the most helpful of any course I have played. Max, the starter and cart guy was so easy to work with. The greens were exceptional and the fairways and rough were kept at a length that made every shot playable. The photos show why this place far exceeded my expectations. 5 stars!

This course has the potential to be so much better! A little expensive for the course quality. Went in Feb and the greens are shaggy and run about a 5-6. Fairways are patchy and the rough/weeds… just don’t go in it. The layout is nice and the views are spectacular. 200$ for 18 and club rental is worth it if you plan on playing it once. Club house staff was a little cold and the club house looked abandoned. Bring your own drinks as the cafe may be closed. Cart guy was friendly and appreciated our visiting. Plan on lift and place. Overall if you love to golf, it is worth a one time visit.

Everyone at the golf course is super nice, and the Marriott was nice to drive me over from the resort on a golf cart. Overall, the layout and visual aesthetic of the golf course are incredible. I have played a lot of golf in my life and appreciate the design and challenge of this course and facility. The views of the ocean, mountains, and homes are awesome. Certainly, the course has seen better days. It needs quite a bit of money but you can tell they are doing the best they can to keep it maintained as best as possible. I agree with other reviews that the high rough (it’s actually just completely overgrown) can be frustrating as it’s easy to lose balls. The greens are slow, but true and in decent shape all things considered. For $165 id say it’s a bit high for the overall experience given the current condition of the club, but I’d like to see this course generate as much $ and turn the conditions around. It has potential to be one of the best golf courses in the world in my opinion. Would recommend playing but keep your expectations low as for course conditions and just try to enjoy the surroundings and keep the ball in the fairway :)

I recently played at Royal St. Kitts Golf Club during a December visit on a cruise. While the location is absolutely beautiful, the course itself was disappointing for the $200 price tag. The grass was not mowed properly, and it was extremely difficult to find balls even when they were just slightly off the fairway—or sometimes even on the fairway. This made the experience frustrating, as I lost a lot of balls that were not even out of bounds. The greens were rough on many holes, and the overall course maintenance left a lot to be desired. The rental clubs were in bad shape, which didn’t help the experience. Adding to that, there were no cart girls for refreshments, and when we stopped at the turn, the 'bar' was unattended, and we had to wait forever for someone to serve us. This wasn’t during a low season for the area, so I was surprised by how empty the course was and the lack of staff. I assume the lack of players and upkeep reflects deeper financial struggles, which is unfortunate given the potential of the location. All in all, I did enjoy the round because the setting was so beautiful, but it was not worth $200. For what we got, I’d say $100 would have been more reasonable. I hope the course gets the investment it needs because with better maintenance and staffing, it could be a fantastic place to play. Right now, it feels like a missed opportunity.

Some of the reviews are a bit unfair. It’s a Caribbean course on the water. The grass is going to reflect that. I had a lovely morning. The front is a bit plain but not unpleasant. The back is a bit more scenic with some nice views of the ocean and mountains. The rough is challenging as your ball tends to settle and can be difficult to find. The greens are quite slow, but consistent and well kept. Lots of bunkers. All in all few complaints.

Only golf on the island unless you go to Nevis. The lady was not very pleasant or helpful at pro shop but gentleman at cart barn was great. Course was in bad shape all around. Great views and nice to hit some balls on island. Does have a range. Overall something to do and get out and play.

Course is good! Not sure how poor are rental clubs, but course is long, uneasy, with water and hazards, picturesque and inspiring. Not flat. Fairways are a bit dry, greens are shaggy (5-6) but green:) It was $150 for 18, but should start before noon - close at 3:30. Personnel are friendly.

I took a very valuable lesson with Golf pro Adrian who has a keen eye for improvements needed! He also shares great ideas for practicing! A lesson while on vacation is well worth the money spent and priced accordingly to most pros in the USA. The 18 hole golf course facility also offers practicing areas for chipping, putting and a driving range. They would benefit from offering a package to hotel and villa guests. The 18 hole course is fun and has fun challenges to all level of players. Maintenance of a few improvements would readily welcome vacationing players to find their way easily for with the initial first few holes; along with maintaining bunkers with fresh sand and rakes. Improvement of the rain water drainage would avoid disappointment vacation golf plans and deter any unexpected course closures due to the islands much needed infrequent rains. For any golfer, this is a “must do” while on vacation! Thank you Adrian for being a highlight in my first trip to St. Kitts!
