Royal Theatre

Amazing land mark designed by a world class architect. Sadly still not operational, though I would have loved to visit any performance, looking forward to have a chance to visit one day.

8.3.2026 The new theater in Rabat is very impressive; it's not even finished yet. I wanted to see it up close, but it's cordoned off by the police. It's also heavily guarded; you couldn't get closer than 100 meters. Even the highway bridges are guarded—in fact, there are police and military at all the tourist attractions.

The **Grand Théâtre de Rabat** is a massive architectural project in the capital of Morocco and one of the city's most prominent modern cultural landmarks. Super cool architecture, but we got chased away by a security guard, they don't want you walking to see it...?

I arrived there by taxi and the guardians didn’t let me get off of the car !!!!! Apparently you can’t even walk around it… but there are no signs of that anywhere ! Just absurd. Great art handled buy incompetent people. Very sad.

It is called Theatre, but it was never opened! And it will be never opened in the future! It is only one building with name Grand Theatre, but they were never people inside! The whole area is under security guarding and they never allow people to go closer to this building! This "Grand Theatre" is no Theatre. They do not allow to go inside to people only for security guards. That is all :-D
