Royal Theatre

Seen many shows there...balcony seats are recommended for anyone 5'9 as theres little leg room and seats not wide. Floor seating is better but much pricier. Sound quality feels blown out w anything electric or loud, acoustic is ok. Great historic building but needs an upgrade at least for sound IMO

Beautiful historic theater the royal theater in Victoria....its got lots of comfortable padded seating for lower floor & upper balcony areas & some side stage box balcony seats . Fyi They got no cup holders . The seats are wide but I found the seats comfortable with the padded but bit on the little tiny bit tight side for my size but overall I like the seats . It can get heat stuffy inside with everyone's body heat so think summer clothes to wear even under your coats . Staff here inside the theater area will help you find your seats are very friendly and helpful will even take you to your seats. Thier is drinks 🍸 bar area here. As for parking i can't say much due to am not taking a car here but looks like side street parking around and definitely public transportation around too like bus and its good walking distance to and from hotels etc . I will definitely be coming back here regularly i am booked for other shows here soon

This theatre has great acoustics. I recently saw Jon and Roy's Christmas Concert there and it was fantastic. Feels more intimate than an arena but not crowded like a bar.

What an extraordinary theatre. I was lucky enough to see Gogopenguin here and it was amazing. Wonderful facilities, great production, and a stunning theatre. Great GHs too!

It's a beautiful restored intimate theater. Went there for opening night of Tosca a couple of weeks back. The theater is confortable and has a great ac system. The seats are a bit low for us tall seniors. Lobby space is at a premium and of course lineups for the tiny bathrooms

Just went for the first time, Staff were great, Venue is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Unfortunately I will not be going back due to lack of accountability for audience members disrupting the show. (Though I’m aware some of my grievances are things they can’t control, so the general public of Victoria seems to be the greater issue here) Tickets are not cheap and I can’t justify seeing a performance at such a cost while there are audience members who are ok with throwing away money on tickets just to be disrespectful and inconsiderate to people who saved a lot of money just to be there. The email sent a few days before with the venue rules made it seem like they would be much more strict than they actually were. People came and went throughout the entire performance, even though we had an intermission. There was a crying baby, as well as people coughing the entire time (I wouldn’t care, but it was during quiet parts and not one person bothered to cover their mouths. Fully open mouthed coughs onto the people in front of them) phone flashlights went on multiple times as well as phone screens. It took away from what would’ve been a great experience. I’m disappointed in the people of Victoria for being inconsiderate, as well as the venue for being so lenient towards the disruptions that they could’ve handled. I’ve had more peaceful experiences at a packed movie theatre for 10 bucks.

Our team came here for a performance, and the venue staff were incredibly friendly and supportive. Their help made everything run smoothly, and we’re truly grateful. I wasn’t here in the role of a designer this time, so I really hope I’ll have the chance to return someday with a lighting design of my own.

We were charged $90 for a ticket for our infant son to sit on our lap quietly the whole time. This was moments before the show started. The seat we had to buy for the baby wasn’t even close to our seats so it was truly just about making more money. Very prohibitive to young families to try and go out together. Really disappointing.

This is the theatre where the symphony performs downtown. I went here for an opera performance. The theatre is very small. The lobby is also quite limited in space. They had a decent concession going with all the usual suspects. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They seemed to be music enthusiasts themselves, which was nice. Bathrooms are small and old. They need an update. The theatre itself has a lot of character but the floor is very uneven and at such a steep angle to get from the back rows to the front row that I don't see how it's up to code. It seems especially hazardous given the demographic is predominantly elderly.

Nice theater with lots of character, enjoyed the show. They need more bathrooms for the size of the venue.
