They pick and choose who they want to assist. We walked in the buffet 3 days in a row and could not get something to drink until 10-15 mins later. I hate to make it a race thing. A white couple just walked in and on their way to the table they were asked what they wanted to drink, and got it right away. All they keep asking for is tip please but the service poor. I don’t mind tipping at all. I been doing it since day one, but for good service. The only two great workers I ran into was Rumny, the excursion guy and Julie the sales person for the spa. We stayed in a so call diamond club room and the fridge has not been working and it’s 3 days now, sad. Some of the food you eat is cold. I called room service and he kept telling me the same two things on the menu and saying that ok, I give you this. Excuse me sir, I would like to place my own order not want you want to give me. Then I was brought hard cold chicken tenders, so hard you could throw it and knock someone out. You ask for a Manager and he came with a notebook and a pen like he was so concerned. I looked at the notebook he was writing in, tell me why it was blank. He deserves a Grammy. I’m so done. I will never stay here again or recommend it to no one other than to the Spa with Julie and Jacqueline, and with the tour guide Rumny. I don’t see how they even hit 4 stars. You have to run down room service for towels. I’m pissed. Oh yea the room has no hair dryer, no ironing board, no condiments like they are supposed to. I hope this helps someone save their $ and don’t waste their time.

Hotel +Staff work hard to make all guests feel at home +Check-in at the Diamond lounge was very smooth and professional +Water park is fun for children +The gardens are very well maintained -The hotel is old and in need of renovation -The food is no longer of the high standard it was a few years ago. Much is undercooked or cold! Service +All staff, from housekeeping to bar staff, were friendly, professional and worked very hard. -Not impressed with our butler. Proactive in the beginning, but useless the last 4 days -Minibar was rarely or never restocked. Even on our first day the minibar was almost empty -Pool towels were often unavailable. Rooms +Diamond Swim-up is very nice, well located near the beach and the Diamond Beach Bar. +Rooms are spacious and have a wonderful rain shower. -When the water level in the Diamond pool is low, the streamers on the terrace make a loud and annoying noise. -The rooms also show signs of the hotel being a bit outdated. In one of our rooms, the power kept cutting out when we used the light in the bathroom. -The rooms are not checked before new guests arrive. We had three Diamond rooms where the minibar was not stocked, and bath slippers, bathrobes and umbrellas were missing (unfortunately, we really needed the latter due to Storm Melissa). This was our third time at Royalton, but between our last visit and now, a number of things have changed for the worse. As mentioned, the quality of the food has declined significantly compared to a few years ago. We have read a lot about food poisoning and unfortunately, it happened to one of our travel companions. The hotel is really starting to show its age. Many tiles are missing in the swimming pool, and some of the stone edges around the swim-up rooms have broken off. It would be good if the hotel were to undergo a major refurbishment. Whereas in the past there was a difference between Diamond at Splash and Diamond at Royalton Punta Cana, that difference has now completely disappeared. Which is rather strange, given that you have to pay more for Diamond at Royalton Punta Cana. To ensure we returned home feeling a bit more positive, we were offered a lobster dinner on our last evening at a specially decorated table. Our entire group was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it turned out that the staff had not been informed. After we had finished eating from the buffet, we were still offered the lobster. A major dissatisfier. All in all, it comes across as very clumsy and amateurish. On the morning of departure, the suitcases were not collected, of course. We had to arrange this ourselves at the last minute. For our next trip to Punta Cana, which is already planned for next year (we love this place), we are going to look for another hotel. Fortunately, there are plenty of options which are likely to offer better value for money.

I love the vibe team amazing and friendly victor is very good and helpful. All the bar staff are lovely and helpful and nice. The room we got given was not great but got moved much cleaner and nicer. But alarm going off every night is not the best when you’re away and trying to rest. And reception not helpful really with this. To book in restaurants is a nightmare. But food in buffet is lovely. Just wish there was a quieter section/pool The beach is beautiful and so peaceful definitely the best part of the hotel even with the vendors. Most are really nice.

Our stay at Royalton Punta Cana was one of the most disappointing and distressing experiences we’ve ever had on a family vacation. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into days of sickness, stress, and regret. We originally booked at Royalton Splash Punta Cana, but after finding bugs and cockroaches in our room, we were advised to upgrade to Royalton Punta Cana for a better experience. Unfortunately, the “upgrade” that was sold to us as an improvement was falsely advertised, it did not deliver better hygiene, comfort, or quality. Shortly after dining at the new resort, several members of my family became seriously ill with food poisoning, requiring medical treatment at Hospital. We spent four days bedridden, unable to enjoy the beach, restaurants, or any of the activities we paid for. The resort staff were aware of our condition, but the assistance offered was minimal and did little to ease the situation. We spent a large amount of money for a vacation that turned into a nightmare, hospital visits, wasted days, and deep disappointment. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. The lack of hygiene, misleading advertising, and poor handling of our situation show a clear disregard for guests’ health and well-being. Save yourself the trouble, look elsewhere. A family vacation should never end in a hospital.

We moved to Royalton Punta Cana from their sister resort next door, and the difference was night and day. This resort is much bigger, cleaner, and better maintained overall. The staff was friendlier and more attentive, but not quite the exceptional service we’ve come to expect from the Dominican Republic, but still much better than our previous experience. The buffet food was very good, and we were able to snag a reservation at the hibachi restaurant, which was also great. There are several other restaurant options, though some required an additional fee. Nightly entertainment was lively and enjoyable, which really added to our stay. That said, there are areas that need improvement. The pools are in need of resurfacing. Two kids in our group actually got cut by loose tiles, which we noticed throughout the pool. When we first checked into our room, we found old soap and an empty water bottle left behind. The fridge was also empty and wasn’t stocked until we asked. The shower could use an upgrade as well; there was a hole under the bench, and a small cockroach came in and out through it. Overall, despite some issues, we had a really good time at Royalton Punta Cana. With a few upgrades and more attention to detail, this could easily be a five-star experience.

We are currently there and the Diamonds club is definitely NOT worth the money spent. We have to make our own dinner reservations ourselves, and they never have any seats, plus our butler doesn't really help us with that, as he says he uses the app, but that's one of the reasons we upgraded our package to the Diamonds club. But when we show up the restaurants are empty. We didn't get a fruit basket and bottle of wine upon arrival as stated in the Diamonds club description on your website. It's my husband's birthday this week and we asked our Butler if possible to get a seat at the steak house and he said if he wasn't too busy he would see what he could do. The extra money spent on the Diamonds is REALLY not worth it. Too bad because we had so high hopes for it to be super good. Today at the food truck, there were no tomatoes, no pickles, no fries. The fan in our room is not working and the people who refill it do not close it properly, which leaves the drinks always hot. The door to our room does not lock properly. After people refilled the refrigerator, our room door was left open with all our personal items in the room. We are disappointed with these various problems.

Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Recommend We were really looking forward to our stay at this resort, but it turned out to be very disappointing. Starting with the food — we tried three of the resort’s restaurants and each one was a letdown. The quality was poor, flavorless, and nowhere near what you’d expect from a resort in this price range. Service was another huge issue. Most of the staff we encountered were rude, inattentive, and seemed disinterested in helping. Yet, they still expected tips for doing the bare minimum. The general attitude felt unprofessional and unfriendly. Our room was in serious need of an update. Housekeeping was unreliable — we had to chase someone down for bath towels, and dirty glasses from previous guests were left in our room. Not the kind of experience you expect at a “luxury” resort. There was very little entertainment, and when activities did happen, the staff behaved as if they were at their own party rather than entertaining guests. The Diamond Club is a complete waste of money — don’t fall for it. Getting a beach towel was also a struggle. If you’re not at the beach by 8 a.m., you’ll likely find none available. To make things worse, there are constant vendors walking around trying to sell you things on the beach, which makes it impossible to relax. Overall, this place has potential but desperately needs better management, improved food quality, and properly trained staff. Sadly, we left disappointed and would not return. This resort advertises itself as a luxurious destination, but in reality, it feels like a 2-star property at best.
