I recently stayed at Royalton Resort and cancun.
The Good: Hardworking Staff
The saving grace of this resort is the service staff. From the bartenders to the housekeeping team Eduardo, we had the pleasure to meet Lucero,Elizabeth, Luis Sanchez and Dickman. The employees were friendly and tried their best to be helpful. It’s clear they are working hard, but they are unfortunately being let down by the leadership above them.
The Bad: Management & Logistics
This is where the experience fell apart. It is evident that management is lacking, as basic resort functions were a constant struggle:
Broken Infrastructure: one of the escalators were out of service. With only one working, it created massive bottlenecks and was incredibly inconvenient for guests moving around the property.
The Reservation Nightmare: Trying to secure a spot at the specialty restaurants was an absolute headache. The system is inefficient and creates unnecessary stress on what is supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
The Ugly: The Buffet Experience
The buffet was, quite frankly, a disaster. Since this is the primary hub for most guests, you would expect it to be a priority. Instead, it was a mess:
Empty Trays: We frequently encountered empty dishes that weren't being replenished.
Cold Food: When food was available, it was often lukewarm or cold.
Lack of Cleanliness: The areas around the serving stations were messy and unorganized, making for a very unappetizing dining environment.
Pool entretement: needs more improvement also a microphone.
Final Verdict: The property has potential, but management needs to step up significantly. Between the broken facilities and the poor dining standards, I cannot currently recommend this resort until they get their operations under control. As a member of Marriott.
Music sucks! I was hoping some salsa or something else besides rock, christmas songs and 80s.
Unfortunately the palm tree in the lobby are dangerous for some guests, my husband got injured. Needs to be more higher or removed.
