Reno’s Food Scene Is on a Winning Streak

Really solid burger. Not a smash burger but not like a thick burger. Comes with two patties by default. Fries and cheese curds really stood out to me both were really good and well seasoned. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area. Love the cozy little bar atmosphere with the couches.

Google
Fantastic Burgers. I’de say the best in town. We had the Royce Burger which was very good but the French Fried Burger was over the top delish! It left me wanting MORE! The restaurant is cozy and a little romantic. There’s outside seating. And they’re serving until 10pm which is an 1hr later than most restaurants Downtown that aren’t in a casino. It is walking distance from the River Walk.

Google
Royce is one of my favorite businesses and top burger in Reno! Always a grand time and happy stomach! Get you a refresher and don't forget to Roll Royce before you get your burger card stamped! 🍔❤️‍🔥✨️

Google
So I searched for the best burger in Reno. This is one of the locations that came up. Since I have never tried it, I thought I would give it a shot. The burger was okay. The fries pretty good. However the service was not very good. They have no table service and i'm not sure what I tipped for since I had a bus my own table.

Google
Royce Burger was decent but the french fries was salty. The salad too much dressing but it was fresh.

My partner and I walked in and just immediately felt the “dirtiness” of the bar. Yeah it’s a bar, but that already tells you something about the food.. atmosphere was muggy and no ventilation for fresh air to flow through. Bartender for some reason was not in a good mood. Very slow service despite only tending to 3 others. Walls wreaked of grease. Staff were incompetent to take food orders. The food made us sick! When my partner and I went back to our rental, we immediately felt sick and had stomach issues for days. The drinks weren’t even that great! Sanitation is a must here..

Hey, I realized after I left that I hadn't closed out, and we just left. How can I make sure you guys got what was owed? Anyways, on to my review: The atmosphere of the place is what draws you in. I was thinking about how to describe it, and it's just cool! Small, focus on the bar on the inside. Comfortable stool-seated patio seating, too, which we chose. The music playing was awesome, too. Not your usual "hit of every year" playing, but a unique soundtrack of lesser-known r&b. Friendly staff and great food & prices. My wife had the royce burger, and I had the bbq burger. Both had two patties each and tasted just great. Well seasoned and very juicy burgers. Fries are really amazing. Try them, you must. . We also got the rib appetizers. They're pork belly and really...REALLY awesome. My wife had a drink called the Royce Refresher. I don't drink, but she said it too was really....REALLY awesome. Anyways, thanks for the great experience for us out-of-towners!

Google
Quirky small burger spot north midtown. I got the French Igoe’s which is a surprisingly not messy French onion type burger. And really if you look at the reviews, the burgers, they’re great. I’m not going to say if they are the best but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is in Reno. I recommend going early or late if you have a group. Service and staff is excellent as well.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow. How have I never been to Royce before? My brother suggested we go here after a round of drinks at nearby 10Torr. I was blown away by the burgers here at Royce, not to mention the dive-y unique atmosphere, and the full bar with great pricing. The vibe here is a mix between upscale casual, dive bar, and sports bar. There are TVs but also couches and diner-like booths. The burgers were out of this world. Amazing smash patties with crispy crust, a perfectly sauced bun, and all the fixings. My brother said to me after my first few bites "I haven't seen you act like this about food in a long time." That's saying something! I've had a lot of burgers and this one was one of the best. The full bar and happy hour specials are also a nice touch. Although I thought all of the pricing was extremely reasonable. Be sure to add Royce to your Reno eats list!

Yelp
Our friends were craving hamburgers so they invited us to Royce. I had heard of this place from some Reno locals but honestly hadn't gave it much thought because I am not a big burger person unless the craving strikes randomly. With all that said Royce is definitely a place I would return to when that craving does strike. We went on a Saturday evening so this place was packed and were told up front it would be a 1 hour wait for food. Since we came with some friends and they have a full bar we decided to wait it out. You do have to find your own place to sit, which was easy enough for us 4, and have to order food and drinks at the bar. I had the pleasure of ordering from Marcus who was very nice, attentive and whipped up our drinks in no time. I ended ordering the frenchified burger with fries and right off the bat I'll say that there fries were amazing. They were on the smaller size, more show string type, perfectly seasoned and were great with the garlic aioli. The burger itself was very tasty and the grilled onions and gruyere cheese made it very decadent. I also tried my wife's green chile burger and that was very delicious as well. I look forward to going back and trying some of their other burgers soon.

Yelp
Funky, cozy, historic. There are lots of words that you can use to describe your initial impression of Royce. From the entrance you are welcomed to a large bar with bar tenders hard at work. This is also where you will order your burgers. On this day, we sat in the dining room behind the bar. A cozy room that you would never guess was back there until you walked in. My wife ordered a Royce Burger, while I opted for the Royce Burger but with the Impossible vegetarian option. The Royce burger looked over cooked but the burger proved to be juicy and delicious, not dry at all. The bun was soft and flavorful. My wife tends to leave a few bites (for me) but today this was not to be. She ate the whole thing. I'm not a vegetarian but wanted to try the impossible burger. I was delightfully surprised it tasted really good. While you won't confuse it for beef, it was shockingly good. I would order this again. We ordered fries with our burgers. They were shoestring style fries with lots of seasonings. While good they were nothing to write home about. Next time I think I would order the chips instead. Best burger in Reno? Perhaps. Definitely one of the best but I'm not sure it takes a standalone first place. There are several really great burger joints in Reno.

Yelp
I'll always recommend this spot to any of my friends who are looking for a good burger spot in town. Royce is a bar located in downtown Reno and this place sells some darn good burgers. There's no parking lot so you'll have to find some street parking directly in the front of the place. The space is intimate inside and they also have outdoor seating. The lamps are dim and there's big screen TVs displaying sports and paintings showcased on the walls. You order at the bar and they give you a number to put on your table for when you pick your seat. Our cashir and waiter were both nice. My boyfriend and I both got the Frenchified Burger W/ Chips + Fries. We also shared the pork belly bites. The burger was bomb and the pork belly bites were okay. We would get the burger again but would skip the pork belly bites next time. Overall, good service and burgers!

Yelp
SO GOOD!! A small bar space w longe seating. They also have a second room w more seating as well as patio space. The food is ordered and payed for in the front. , the burger options are amazing , they also have chicken wings that take the prize . This place never disappoints with giant burgers and thin yet flavor packed fries . The service is smooth and quick . They brought our food straight to our table.

Yelp
This is hands-down the BEST burger joint in Reno! From the moment you walk in, you know you're in for a treat. Their appetizers are absolutely delicious--I'm obsessed with the cheese curds, and the burgers are out of this world. My favorite is the Frenchified Burger with its peppercorn dijonnaise, Gruyere cheese, and perfectly caramelized onions. Pair it with their crispy, golden fries, and you've got a meal to remember. The sauces here deserve a special shoutout. The ranch is top-tier, and their garlic aioli is next-level good. They also have a bar that serves amazing cocktails, which makes it the perfect spot to hang out with friends. A heads-up: this place gets busy fast! If you're hoping to grab a seat inside, make sure to get there early--it's popular for a reason. Next time I visit, I'm definitely trying their wings because everything else I've had has been phenomenal. If you're looking for the best burger and fries in town, this is the spot. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good food and great vibes!

Yelp
I've heard a lot of hype about the burgers here being one of friends and family's favorite burger places. I've tried many times to come and try their food but unfortunately they are not as accessible as one would hope. They NEVER answer their phone. Doesn't matter the time of the week whether it be a Tuesday or Saturday they don't answer their phone and therefore you can't place a pickup order there over the phone. So we tried driving over there and there was no parking. So we had to leave a few different times. Finally one day we didn't get ahold on the phone (again) but we drove by and there was somewhere to park. So we parked and walked in and they were very dead inside (maybe five groups total) so we were annoyed they weren't answer their phone when they weren't even busy. Nonetheless, we finally got to order our food to go. The staff behind the bar were all nice. We ordered drinks while we waited for our food. We got the Persephone and the vanilla margarita with tajin. The Persephone has grapefruit in it and doesn't have a tart taste like you'd expect, it's pretty neutral. The margarita was pretty good but tasted more citrus/lime like. Not our favorite but we're good enough. The inside is a bit small but very cute and a nice homie ambiance. They also have some outdoor seating in front as well. And a bar inside with some local taps (not my personal favorite ones though) and some of their own drink concoctions. We got home and checked out our food and we got the green chili burger with chips; the regular burger with fries and cheese curds on the side. The green chili burger was interesting and good; doesn't have any green chilis in it but instead green salsa. It is good! The regular cheeseburger is like in n out on crack. It is very good and a nice size. The fries or thinner and therefore can be crispy which is great but ours ended up being a little over cooked so not as good. They have a nice seasoning for the fries too though. Maybe next time the fries will be better. The cheese curds also are good. The batter seems more like a ranch batter and then they give you a side of ranch for them which is also not my preference but was still good. Overall, this place is good but the hassle doesn't seem to be worth it for us in comparison for what it is.

Yelp
What a cool bar/restaurant in downtown Reno. Plenty of parking options around Royce. As I was walking in, I noticed the outdoor seating that would be perfect when the weather is warmer! You walk in and place your drink/food order at the bar. Then you go find a place to sit. They have a sitting/couch area as well as tables in the back. The menu is limited but not short of delicious items. I went with a classic burger and chips. The burger is juicy and tastes great! Loved their burger sauce-- it's messy & delicious. Lots of drink options as well. Next time you're downtown and want a burger--- try this spot out! Get the punch card too so you get a free burger!

Yelp
Just visited this cozy warm atmosphere for the first time. I have heard they have the best burgers in town and they didn't disappoint! The burger was juicy and the bun was fresh and so tasty as well. I'm a fan of bacon so I got the bbq burger. My friends had the Royce burger...I had a bite it was great too. The fries are addicting as well. Staff were all friendly and helpful. You go up to the bar to order your food and drinks and they run it to you when it's ready. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Starting 2025 out with a "burger" joint is a little different for me. However, reading the reviews had me intrigued. Shishito Peppers: I went into these with not much anticipation, this was my favorite thing that we got. Whoever said lets dry rub some peppers and grill them up was a literal genius! Fried Cheese Curds: minimal breading and a whole lotta cheese. They even held up as left overs in the morning. Imerialish Japanese Wings: delicious flavor and the wings them selves were HUGE. Green Chili Burger: decent enough. 1 chili at the middle of the burger and it was really good. That being said the burger was really dry until the center point. This also may have been because it was a to go order. French Fries: as simple as this portion of your meal is, they kept it delicious and straight to the point. Their ranch and fry sauce definitly taste house made, each with their own individual "flare". GO AND TRY IT, COMPLETELY WORTH IT!! GOING FOR THE ROYCE BURGER NEXT TIME THOUGH!!

Yelp
Popped in here last night, around 8pm. The place wasn't packed, but it also wasn't slow. The gal who helped us was fabulous. Since we hadn't been here before, she let us know what people like the most. We ordered 2 Royce burgers, 2 Mexican lagers, and an order of cheese curds. This is an order at the bar, take a number and find a seat type of place. Very chill and laid back. We chose to sit outside and the patio was really nice. Our burgers came out, they accidently gave my husband the bbq burger, but we didn't mind. The burger was good. My only wish was that it had pickles! I would definitely come back. The only downside for me were the fries, very very skinny, and by the time we got them, slightly cold and crunchy. It's hard to keep this style of fries hot, so I'm not mad about it.

Yelp
I definitely need to return because I wasn't real hungry when I went and I need to try a burger! We had drinks, pork belly bites and wings. Everything was amazing and the service was great. Friendly staff, very nice and I felt comfortable. I'm visiting the area so I will try for happy hour! The indoor and outdoor seating is cool. I bet it's great in the summer!

Yelp
Very neat experience but this is definitely a young person's hang out or someone who doesn't mind noise. I enjoyed the atmosphere but it was hard to have conversations with people because it was so loud. I was very relieved to find out they had tables in the back because I did not want to have an awkward meal on a couch. Regardless, it was packed and seemed to get more full as the night went on. They have a full bar with a variety of wines, cocktails, and beers. The menu is pretty straightforward and I appreciate that they offer plantbased options. All in all, not my favorite burger spot in town but it is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this new establishment well new to me. My son works with somebody that this is a friend of our restaurant so I thought all right. Let's give it a try. And boy am I glad I did. We had a great meal and the service was kind of cool. You just walk up to the bar and order what you want. There were little water pods all over the location so it was easy to get something to drink.. I can't wait to get back over the hill to try a whole bunch more on their menu exclamation point all their food and their staff was 100%!

Yelp
Royce has become my favorite burger spot. From the food to the service and the vibes. Located downtown with outdoor and indoor seating. When you walk in the first thing you'll do is order. You may think the only seating is by the bar but there is more seating in the back. A Royceburger is a MUST and the Buffalo wings are a plus! If you like wasabi, I recommend ordering the wasabi ranch. We've had almost everything on the menu - shishito peppers, poutine fries, pork belly bites, the bbq burger and the frenchified burger. You can't go wrong with whatever you order! The service is great every time and the cooks always seem to be having a good time. Ps. Don't forget to pick up a burger card!

Yelp
Finding a good burger in Reno, NV has been getting harder. Stopped by the Royce in Midtown. Glad we did because these burgers are Juicy! and delicious!. As soon as we walked in, it's a bar with some cool decor all over and some bartenders that welcomed us in and gave us some menus. As soon as you order you can sit inside or outside. The inside have some limited seating with couches and bar seating. We ordered the Royce burgers. I ordered one with an extra patty but later realized that these burgers already come with two patties. Ended up eating a 3 patty royce burger was even more delicious with lots of flavor in the patties and sauce that brings together the burger. We also ordered some fries on the side. The fries were very crispy and perfect side to the burger. They have a house made BBQ sauce that I ordered for the fries. Overall awesome burger spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Juicy and filling burgers with a casual order at the counter vibe. Ordered the frenchified and the bbq burgers with fries. Both were meaty and filling, I loved the flavor profile of the frenchified very oniony with a decadent Gruyère layer. My fries were a good batch, shoestring crispy and the aioli is tasty. I tried the batch of fries my friend got though and hers were super overcooked and far inferior, too crunchy and hard. I liked the outdoor patio but it was hard to find a table! I think for me the burgers were too much on the salty side. I have had a lot of people proclaim their love of Royce and how it's the best burger in Reno and I'm not quite sold. It's good but I wouldn't say anything particularly mind blowing. I was burping up my burger all night and it was so salty two days later I still haven't drank enough water to get that excess sodium intake down.

Yelp
I went here about 9:30 on a Saturday evening. No wait. The guy taking our order at the bar was very helpful and knowledgeable. We went to eat in the basement but it was pretty loud (the sound bounced off the basement walls. If you want a quieter experience opt for eating on the couches at the coffee table. Apparently it's a thing! I had the bbq burger and it was great! Love the sauce choices and thin fries. I'd suggest to get real bottles of ketchup since it's a burger fry place. Def add the caramelized onions for 75cents more. I tried my friends French burger and that's why this rating is five stars. I was so jealous! I'll be back for that one soon. I liked the salad dressing too. It was unique. I've never seen a grilled bun like that. It was a nice touch although it reminded me of a butt print or a deer hoof.

Yelp
This is a great little local bar and hangout spot. The drinks are well made and top-tier. All the food options are delicious and a great price too.

Yelp
Best burger in town! It tastes like a burger that was grilled in your backyard. The staff is vey straight forward which might not be for everyone but I don't mind them. They just want to help and get on with their day. Not the friendliest but I get it. You go there for the burger!

Yelp
Super disappointed. Never even got food so I won't comment in that. My husband and I finally had a day off and wanted to try Royce today after hearing from multiple people that they have the "best burger in town." We got there, put our order in and got our 1 beer. We went to sit down and immediately my husband noticed no one in the main area had food. We had sat at one of the couches. I then noticed that people were walking towards the back and went around the corner and found another seating area. Again everyone seated at table and no one had food. We then heard it was a 45min wait for food. Okay great. At 30 minutes in we started to look around towards the kitchen. I have been to several food establishments and let me tell you I could not hear anyone in that kitchen talking to each other, no sizzling of any grills, no hustle. we then moved to a booth in the same area and I got a better look at the kitchen. These guys were looking at their phone, one made a howling noise and my husband then said, "lets get out of here, they arent even cooking food" We got our refund, they didnt charge us the beer and they gave us a coupon for a free burger next time we go in. Super disappointed. We waited 46minutes. Pretty sure they hadn't even gotten to our order. Btw we got there at 215, 1 hours after opening and they had a 45min wait for food. -Tim's note: "I'm okay with a long wait time if it's because they're busy, but not okay with a long wait time because they just don't give a crap."

Yelp
This is definitely a hidden gem in Reno. Small little spot with inside, casual seating and also a patio. Small food menu but all their items are amazing. They have a draft menu of beers as well as specialty cocktails and wines. Bartenders were friendly and food came out quick!

Sean J.

Yelp
Food- ordered the Royce burger. Very good burger, not the best ever but very good. I had super high expectations based on word of mouth and reviews about Royce, so it probably couldn't live up to those standards no matter what! Would add a few extra items to the burger next time like jalapeños and bacon. Fries were good, $3 extra. Service- sat at the bar and was waited on promptly. No issues with service, not above or below average. Ambiance- Older house converted to restaurant/bar and it's nice, eclectic. Second time being there but first time eating there and both times, I felt the same about the clientele/ambiance and that is it's a pretty young crowd, i.e. college aged to young 30 something's. Overall very good and will go back.

Yelp
I went here for the first time after hearing good things on Reddit and from my family and wow yeah that was a good burger ( ° °) I got the Frenchified burger and the peppercorn Dijon will live in my head rent free also everyone was sooo nice!!

Yelp
A gluten free bun has finally arrived and it's everything you hoped for and more. This is one of the best tasting gluten free buns I've ever had. It was fresh, soft and, fluffy...everything you would hope for in a GF bun. I can finally eat at Royce and don't have to take my order to go so I can reassemble my burger on a GF bun at home! The Royce burger is amazing, but even better on a GF bun. One of the best burgers in town! Royce is always a good time! The bartenders are friendly and welcoming! I love the vibe! They have a great happy hour with good drink specials. This spot can get really busy during the dinner rush, so get there early.

Yelp
Food is better than expected! Great service as well. I'm a wine drinker so the list could be a little better. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Wow! It has been four years to the day since I last left a review for Royce! And while it's still one of our favorite low-key neighborhood places to go, there have been some fundamental changes - and I think they are for the good! We sat at the bar tonight for Happy Hour and chatted with the bartender who shared that they broke ties with Old Granite a while back and make their own food now. The Happy Hour offerings are different but it was our lucky day because Mondays are "Roycebuger and Beverage for $15" night! My husband had their Green Chile Burger with a salad and was happy that the burgers are just as delicious as before! I had their Portobello Burger with chips and it was so good! I was thrilled to see that veggie option on the menu! We both had a refreshing Lead Dog Citra Solo IPA. Their food menu has expanded quite a bit! They still have shishito peppers as a starter but have lots of other things, too - like portobello fries, poutine, chicken wings, pesto grilled cheese, and more! And while we knew about their added front patio area, they also have a new backroom dining area with plenty of seats! The original area looks exactly like it always has so it still has the same familiar, cozy feel. It's nice they were able to preserve that and add more space.

Yelp
Finally made my way to Royce and tried their famous burgers. You do have to order at the bar and they'll bring it to you. I ordered their famous Royce Burger and subbed the chips for fries with a side of ranch. Only waited about 10 minutes or so and we got our food. Took my first bite and wow, it was amazing! Can definitely taste the freshness and quality; totally worth it. Everyone was friendly and service was good, will be back soon for more!

Yelp
I went to Royce for the first time to try out their burgers, as I've heard good things. You order at the bar and they bring your food to you. The guy taking my order was chill and informative about the menu as it was our first time in. We settled on a couple cheeseburgers, some fries and cheese curds. The curds and fries came out first, and they were much better than I thought they'd be. To start, the cheese curd batter was actually seasoned unlike most fried cheese curds. You could see the herbs and spices and it was packed with flavor. They maintained their crispy exterior while staying gooey and warm in the middle as well since they were served in a bowl rather than a tray. On top of that, their ranch and fry sauce were off the CHAIN. I couldn't decide which I liked dipping the fries or curds in more. The fries were shoestring style, mad crispy and seasoned as well, they complimented the burger nicely. The burgers came soon after the apps and they were definitely worth the hype! The burgers are juicy and they put a ton of burger sauce so be ready to scoop that up each bite. It's a bit messy if you get all the fixings, but I ordered mine without and was just fine. My partner found herself a little more hands on though as her burger was loaded with toppings. Not a complaint, just a caution! I don't mind messy if it's good. The only thing I could've asked for was a bit more seasoning on the burger itself. Unfortunately the sauce was carrying all the flavor and some salt and pepper on those patties would've just topped it off. There was a lot of people but somehow always somewhere to sit. They have a back room if you're just trying to eat and enjoy watching the games as well and the place has a nice vibe going for it on general. Overall, we will definitely be back as I gotta try that poutine!

Yelp
After filling up half of my budget stamp card (5/10) I finally have gotten around to writing this review because I can honestly say this is the best Gluten-free Burger in town. Other places have GF buns but this one is superb - it holds together despite the sauce and cheese and I'm never reduced to eating it in bits or with a fork. Also, the smash burger itself is just amazing. The shoe-string fries are also gluten-free, which is a bonus! Beyond the burger I love everything about this place - the vibe, the staff, the cocktails.

Yelp
Biting into a Royce burger is a visceral experience. Every burger is juicy, complex, and perfectly cooked. It makes me emotional (in the best way) every time I eat it. This is the best burger in town. Every time I go, I am reminded how incredible these burgers are. This time, I ordered the Frenchified burger and didn't have time to snap a photo because it smelled so good I just wolfed it down. The Gruyère and caramelized onions are the perfect topping for a perfect burger. I am drooling just thinking about it. Their fries are seasoned with a house seasoning that is to die for and, especially when dipped in their fry sauce, is *chef's kiss*. They have a few comfy couches to eat at and some outdoor space as well. It gets pretty busy so be prepared to wait especially on the weekends. It is always well worth the wait though. Thank you, Royce for creating the best burger in Reno!

Yelp
The positives: price for product on point. Appetizers for less than $10, not huge but good perfect size for what it is. Same with the burgers, even with chips not fries, very satisfied with price and quantity. The mid: If you want to add on anything, the price is hefty. $4 up charge for an Impossible burger? You can get them for almost the same price as ground beef at Costco. $.75 for extra sauce in a 2 oz cup? I get people abuse the extras but that's a bit much. The negative: I had to repeat my order for 4 people several times to the bartender...just write it down to ensure you get it right, easy solution. Even with repeating it and then standing in front of the computer, they still messed it up. Then when I told them an item was missing, they asked multiple times do I still want my meal (yes I'm hungry) and then coworkers continued to try to decide who was at fault in front of me before starting my order.

Yelp
BEST BURGER IN TOWN!!!!!!! Hands down!! Outstanding job!! Parking can be a challenge because it is basically street parking only... But don't forget about the "heal toe express"... you can always walk a few blocks... I promise you it will be worth it. This place has vegan and vegetarian options for The burgers tooo!!! ... Outdoor seating, thank goodness because inside is crazy small! Ordering from the bar is easy and convenient, staff is knowledgeable, and extremely friendly... They even bring the order out to you! I love this place, and will continue to be a customer as long as they have these burgers!! Great job everyone!! Seriously great job.

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem in downtown Reno! My husband and I came on Sunday to Royce, decided to try it out and I had heard from a fellow friend that the burgers were top notch and that they had a huge patio area for outdoor seating. As we walked up to the restaurant/bar, quickly noticed the spacious patio area for outdoor seating but I actually loved inside the bar as it's had a very homey unique vibe with a few tables and couches. The bartender quickly noticed us and greeted us, letting us know how to order and his recommendations. I decided to try their Imperialish Japanese Wings , which were Delicious! Nice saucy coating and super crispy served with a wasabi ranch!! My husband had their Portobello Mushroom Burger and added a beef patty to it, but the portobello was incredibly huge as it does serve as one their vegetarian options but my husband needed to add meat, lol! He said one the best burgers in town by far! Lastly we also ordered the portobello fries, which were juicy and had a nice breading to it without it being too greasy. Super tasty:) As I mentioned earlier, loved the vibe here at Royce and if you're looking for a low key spot, friendly and attentive staff and delicious food, this is it :)

Yelp
This is definitely the spot to go if you're looking for a burger and fries that are not gonna let you down! Their Royce burger is super incredible but if you're lucky, they do have specials from time to time and tonight's Chef special was a pork belly burger with chips, but I substituted fries which are amazing with fry sauce or ranch. It's pretty busy, but that's what comes with being one of the best burger joints in town! Definitely recommend coming at a decent time to get some patio seating outside watching the sunset while having an amazing burger!

Yelp
Awesome place to have a delicious burger (Frenchified is the best) and watch a basketball game at the bar. Good selection of NA beers, and get extra fries!

Yelp
Good burgers and drinks. Lowkey atmosphere. Sometimes the fries or pork belly bites are burnt/old but I try to be forgiving. Sometimes it's hard to get a bartenders attention. Overall, a staple.

Yelp
Loved having a burger here on my birthday and watching the NBA championship games. Good times, top notch burgers.. especially if you're looking for that kind of gourmet refined style burger

Yelp
Cannot speak highly enough about Royce and its burgers!! Honestly I've never been so happy to see a place offer a gluten free alternative so I can feel less guilty and come more frequently! They also offer a portabello burger or impossible patty options if that's your jam. Also have kid burgs and grilled cheese for my son! Idk what magic these guys put into their burgers and the fries but SO TASTY, I literally crave this place. A Reno staple MUST if you are visiting! Warning, the place gets packed from about 5:00-8-00ish almost everyday so plan accordingly if you're in a hurry. it is a quaint little joint but if you enjoy a good vibe good burger and good cocktails there is plenty of seating with bar seating, lounge couches, and a dining room in the back. Service is quick however if you come during rush food could take up to an hour but be patient because it is definitely worth it! While you wait it only costs a dollar to roll the dice, let's call it a Royce roll, $1 to get all 5 die the same number and win some money! Downed my double patty burger in 7 minutes with about 10 napkins.. if that doesn't speak for itself idk what does!

Yelp
Went here for a quick bite before a comedy show, and it hit the spot! Their Royce Burger was classic, with American Cheese and the works. We got a few appetizers, but the pork belly stood out the most - it was amazingly tender and crisp. However I wish they had some less greasy options for sides, because I felt greased-out from the burger and pork belly. I'll also mention that the ambiance of this joint is real classic. Its wood walls and curved booths felt nostalgic somehow - plus there are candles at each table which I thought was a cute touch. I'd probably come here again when I'm in the mood to indulge in a solid burger in a pleasant location. If this is your first time going to Royce, just an FYI that it's self-seating style and you do have to order at the bar.

Yelp
Crazy that I haven't been back here for almost 7 years! So glad I had a friend that suggested we swing by for a late dinner as I had not yet eaten at Royce, only gotten some drinks previously. Royce is friggin awesome, I had so much fun during my visit, and the staff was very accommodating as we arrived right before they were getting ready to close up the kitchen! The Burgers are amazing and they have lot's of different options for the burger connoisseur in all of us. There were 3 of us to we got 3 variations so we could try different burgers. The original Royce is a nice solid classic burger. The Frenchified was another must try and was very tasty. For the 3rd option, and I love this, it was dealers choice which ended up being The Pesto Grilled Cheese. I think that was my favorite, but hard to say as they were all delicious. Highly recommend paying the additional for the fries, they are worth it and the chips are very similar to lays, if you're in to that sort of thing. Also a full bar, we were recommended to try the refresher which was a tasty gin based drink true to it's name. Lastly I can't not mention the dice roll, so much fun. You can only enter once per visit and it's a dollar. It's not easy but if you get one of the combinations you can win a free drink, food, etc. I love this and made the visit and interaction with the staff even more enjoyable. Oh and don't forget your burger punch card, buy 10 and get the 11th free. Fun downtown Reno spot that I will definitely be going back to soon!

Yelp
My husband and I love Royce!! One of my favorite burgers in town. So far the only burger I have gotten (when something ain't broken don't fix it right??) is the Royce burger and it is perfect. I get the jalapeño pickles added and it is literally just a perfect burger. There is nothing I would change about it. I always upgrade my chips to fries they are crispy and perfect as well. The garlic aioli gets my mouth watering before I even finish ordering it. Delish! The atmosphere is great. I love the patio, I love the lights, I love that I can bring the pooches. I love that it's raised and you can look out. I love that the tables are long and have plenty of room for multiple groups to sit at. I love the location to downtown, and I love the easy parking. Inside the vibe is just as nice. Booths look comfortable although we have always chose to sit outside. Service has been friendly and FAST. We love coming here and won't stop!

Yelp
Royce is the best burger in Reno. I usually get the Royce burger and it hits every time. I like the shoestring fries. They also have a kids menu for the littles. The service is hit or miss. The patio is nice when the weather nice. The inside is a smaller bar with limited seating. They do have a back room with more seating.

Yelp
We came here on so many promises for the best burger in Reno. Even though we totally dug the atmosphere and had what can be considered a tasty burger... I can definitely say that I've had better ones in the Reno area. So first things first - you order at the counter inside, and it's a fun setup with Chicago memorabilia and old school menu board. We got the "from the tank" rose for $6 on happy hour and... let me tell you... it definitely tastes like it's from the tank. There's a restaurant just down the street that has $5 rose on happy hour that is so much more drinkable! I would skip this one any day. So anyway, we sat on the cool little patio and waited not too long for our food. The burger looks so impressive and comes out lookin' hot and juicy. The sauce and cheese are tasty and the bun is really soft and the smash burgers are fun... but it just fell short for us. You can't taste the beef at all. We added jalapeños pickles and we couldn't taste them either. This is definitely a good riff on like an in-and-out burger, but not quite the big juicy burger we were hoping for. The fries looked super seasoned and were ok. Good hot wings with great Buffalo sauce. Overall, I appreciate the popularity of this place, but I think the hype let us down. We will definitely be back to try the pork belly bites and other fun-looking menu items. Until then, we continue our hunt for the best burger in Reno!

Yelp
Perfect place to grab a night before a show at The Pioneer. Not many seats...so arrive with the knowledge that it can be crowded. We were lucky to grab a booth for 4 at 5pm on a snowy night. Amazing peppers perfectly crispy and salted bring the heat. The wings and fries were excellent as well. Decent house. Chardonnay. Did not love the burger and it is a burger lounge. But loved the vibe and service. They use straws which is always disappointing.

Yelp
I got a burger and two shots of Jameson. Burger was delicious. Service was very friendly. Setting is intimate. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
The best burger in Reno? Certainly one of the best HANDS DOWN! I ate so much so fast that I forgot to take any pictures of the food or the ambiance. I will definitely return and update my review with pics. I always get the Royce Burger, and it is so packed with deliciousness. It knocks the Double Double from In n Out out of the water. The indoor area where we sit always has a game on, but Royce also has a pretty epic patio area. I just wish they opened a little earlier on weekends so I can get my lunch burger in. But maybe that adds to the preciousness of this spot. I can't wait to return.

Yelp
Tried this burger joint this week on the recommendation of a friend. I guess I didn't know what to expect - a bar that also serves burgers. Unfortunately the staff at the bar taking our order were not very friendly or helpful. Our burgers were good, but I would have preferred 1 thicker patty than 2 thin ones so it would be juicier. The chips served with the burgers were just from a bag - I was hoping from house-made. The fries were great though - thin and crispy. The ambiance was weird inside - I didn't really enjoy it. The outdoor seating would have been nice if it weren't 100 degrees out. Decent burger and fries, but not my favorite place.
