I had a fantastic stay at The Royce Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and welcoming. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between modern luxury and old-world charm, with beautifully restored interiors and thoughtful details throughout. Our room was stylish and exceptionally comfortable. The bed was plush, and the amenities were high quality – from the linen to the lighting. It’s clear the hotel puts care into creating a relaxing and memorable experience for guests. I had a lovely take away breakfast too! Check pic :) The staff were professional and genuinely warm, always happy to assist with anything I needed. The location was also ideal – just a short stroll to the Botanic Gardens and a quick tram ride into the city. I also loved the in-house restaurant and bar – both delivered excellent service and food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Melbourne looking for a refined boutique experience with outstanding hospitality.

My partner and I had an overnight stay at The Royce and were impressed with every aspect of this property. We searched to find a finger mark, dust or hair in the public areas and found nothing. The attention to detail is beyond what we have experienced in all of our travels. The staff are calm, caring and professional. The meal on the Showroom Bar was brilliant. Congratulations to the team, from the top down. They are proud and care. Thank you.

Lovely stay at the Royce in a terrace room (request the first Terrace room facing the city skyline). Rooms are beautifully appointed and the terrace is great, the bathroom french door open to the bedroom so lack a little privacy if that's an issue. We look forward to our next stay at The Royce.

5 Stars – Luxury, Comfort, and Impeccable Service My stay at The Royce Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the stunning architecture and elegant ambiance. The hotel perfectly blends classic charm with modern luxury, creating an atmosphere that’s both sophisticated and welcoming. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and thoughtful touches like plush robes, high-end toiletries, and a well-stocked minibar made the experience feel extra special. breakfast at The Royce Hotel exceeded expectations — it’s not just a meal, it’s a highlight of the stay. Highly recommended, even if you’re not an overnight guest! The Royce Hotel offers a luxurious experience with genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

Perfect location and great setting. It's very plush and a lovely place to sit, eat and catch up with friends. The food is not at the standard you would expect though. We all had different dishes of varying quality. The salads were good, however, the duck and the gnoccchi were disappointing. The service was mediocre at best. Nobody checking on us at all. We had to keep asking for more water and drinks requests were forgotten a couple of times. You pay for the setting too, which I guess was worth it. We will return again for special occasions primarily due to the actual venue itself and not the food.

Stepping into The Royce Hotel is like stepping into a timeless realm of class and charm, where unique, thoughtfully curated decorations blend seamlessly with modern luxury to create an atmosphere that’s both inviting and extraordinary. My room was a sanctuary of style and calm, featuring a beautiful balcony with a stunning view that made every moment spent there feel truly special. The space was thoughtfully designed with attention to every detail. From the plush furnishings to the subtle lighting that made relaxing effortless. Waking up to those views and enjoying breakfast at The Terrace was an absolute highlight. The Royce croissant roll, ham, truffle mornay sauce, fried egg, rocket was absolutely delightful ! Bursting with fresh and bold flavors, set the perfect tone for my day. Dining at the Showroom Bar was equally unforgettable... The warm ambiance, crackling fire, perfect service and expertly crafted cocktails made for an evening that felt both intimate and luxurious. Each dish and drink was thoughtfully prepared, making every moment feel like a celebration of taste. What truly sets The Royce apart, though, is the incredible attention to detail throughout the Hotel... From the striking artwork and elegant statues to the flawless service that made me feel genuinely valued. This isn’t just a place to stay... It’s an experience that stays with you. Whether you’re in Melbourne for business, leisure, or a little bit of both, The Royce offers a rare blend of charm, comfort, and style that’s hard to match. Without hesitation, it’s one of my absolute favorite Hotels in the city... A shining example of luxury that leaves a lasting impression.

The Showroom restaurant is a local favourite for me. I come here regularly - either to catch up with a friend, dine before a show in the city or to relax on my own. It is peaceful and fabulous. I can drop in here after a long day at work, to enjoy great service, good wine and excellent food. My favourite at the moment is the Duck Breast with a side of broccolini. Tar and Roses Pinot complements that beautifully. I always enjoy it. Thank you.

The Royce is a great hotel, All staff are great, but one male staff member on Friday night stood out. I think his name was Anton, he had a great French accent. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. He made our night great and made us feel very welcome.

Yelp
I have dined in this restaurant - The Showroom - several times. It's consistently good. My companion and I have enjoyed high quality food with main courses that range from duck to beef steak to Morton Bay bugs to fish (John Dory and salmon). It's consistently good, very nicely presented and very enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. The service is very nice, respectful, professional and helpful. The wine list has good options. I will continue to return. Thank you.

Yelp
"Cate and her staff were highly professional and extremely knowledgeable! The food was well presented and indulging. The wine selection is fantastic and the overall ambience of the venue was definitely one of opulence. Congratulations to the Royce Hotel for re establishing a true Melbourne Icon!!"

Yelp
My new fave after work drop in for a happy hour bevvie. Great price beers and wine $5 5-7pm and right at my tram stop for home....a real bonus, good service, decor and bathrooms. The hot chips hit the spot as well as does the music and ambience of the place. Keep up the happy hour and you will remain my fave both pre and after happy hour.

Yelp
The Royce Hotel is an experience and beauty extravaganza in one. The building itself is a piece of architectural delight and the decor is simply a form of art. The service is impeccable and the rooms unique to one another. I would definitely recommend the Royce Hotel to anyone looking for a boutique hotel with style and ambiance. While a little expensive, the experience is well worth the price you pay. The hotel has charm and history, with the hotel previously owned by Rolls Royce as their primary showroom. The Royce is located in St Kilda, which is therefore very convenient for those staying for business or as a tourist. They have a gym, which is small and houses one treadmill, step ladder and bike. There is also a water cooler which we frequently used because it was chilled and fresh. I had trouble emptying the bath- the button to rid the bath of water was nowhere in site! Initially when we checked in there had been a mixup with rooms. They had us booked into two separate rooms, however, we wanted to share just the one room. While the Royce doesn't look like much from the outside, it is absolutely stunning inside. The rooms are the perfect size- ours had a big king bed, a luxurious bathroom with spa bathtub and an area which included a writing time. Rooms with kitchenettes are also available

Yelp
The weekend before we headed to Melbourne, the Royce featured in Good Weekend's great getaways review - a promising sign. Its review was not entirely complimentary, but prepped us well on what to enjoy and what to avoid. Top of the list is location. A far cry from a stock-standard hotel, it's a boutique venue convenient for St Kilda Road, Toorak Road and Chapel Street, the Botanic Gardens and the city. Its capacious foyer is stylish and calm. Via a somewhat inconveniently located lift lobby, we found our fifth floor room enormous and well laid out. I gather this was luck - other people staying there describe their rooms as quite small. Furniture included a very comfortable king-size bed and a lazy couch perfect for putting your feet up. The luxurious bathroom was unfortunately poorly lit, and I object to toilets with doors you can see through - much as I love my husband I do not need to see him on the loo and do not wish the reverse for him, so we agreed an etiquette that avoided it. With one lift out of order, we tried the exit stairs only to find ourselves in the back of the kitchen - not sure who was more surprised, us or the chefs. Remember to get out at the first floor and walk down.

Yelp
My husband and I travel all around the world together. He's been a public speaker for 25 years and travels for a living. I've been a world traveler since a small child. We love this hotel! The staff is really fun and friendly. They remember us year after year. The restaurant and room service bends over backwards every time we come to accommodate my gluten allergy. It's a great location with proximity to the tram and the CBD. Fantastic amenities and great customer service. This is the only place will stay in Melbourne!

Yelp
Not much to say here as only been in for beer and mate had a burger which was good. It's a hotel bar so to be truthful lakes a bit of atmosphere but there is nothing to complain about. Four Pines on tap so happy with that. I think happy hour in the week is popular with folks walking home.

Yelp
We had an awesome night staying at this hotel for my wife's birthday. I was a little skeptical at first as the internet is covered in mixed reviews, but we just went for it and were more than satisfied. It's a cute, fancy-ish boutique hotel on St Kilda road, surrounded by green and the park and away from the CBD bustle but a short distance away. Service is very friendly, the rooms are fancy without being sterile, and there's a lot of cool restaurants around like Entrecote, The Olive Tree and the hotel's own Dish to eat at. Our standard room also came with a complimentary bottle of wine. There's a lot of complaints about lacking service/room service, but I found nothing of the sort. I'd definitely come back here again and recommend it.

Yelp
This is a pretty sexy hotel. I've stayed here three times, for a total of about 6 nights. It's stylish without being overly fancy. It's not too big. Staff service has always been exemplary. The bar is fun, and often busy. I've only ever had the continental buffet breakfast, but it's quite nice (very good croissants). I'll admit that I am able to take advantage of a corporate rate that means the buffet breakfast and internet access are included, and that means I've been room-upgraded twice. It also means I've not paid for my own stays here. That inevitably colours my view, I guess. I wouldn't normally pay $180 a night for a hotel if I could help it. But you do get a very high-quality hotel.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Royce Hotel on several occasions, and let me say it is worth every one of it's five stars. Located conveniently on St Kilda Rd, The Royce combines elegance with class, the rooms are stunning, spacious, and look expensive. The thing I love most about the Royce is their pillows. Wow. Talk about a good nights sleep! The feather down pillows feel like a soft fluffy could under my head. Everything about the Royce is fantastic. We received free drink vouchers for their bar, which was great. Comfy armchairs, the perfect place to people watch whilst sipping a cocktail.

Yelp
I stayed at the Royce in July 2011 when in Melbourne for a job interview. I wasn't sold on Melbourne as a place to relocate to, but my experience at the Royce (among over things, obviously) sold me on this city. The location is great - you're not smack in he middle of the city but you're more than close enough (around a fifteen minute walk to Flinders St station). There's a restaurant and bar downstairs which has great food, and if you're looking for cheap greasy eats, Maccas is a few doors down. The rooms are spacious and well maintained and there were chocolates and a personalized note from the manager waiting on my pillow when I arrived. Price is reasonable (not cheap by any stretch of the imagination). Staff are very friendly and will dispense a list of tram numbers to take you to and from the city. Four stars!!!!

Yelp
One of the parentals recently stayed here for a work thing so I had a chance to check out the interior of this swanky hotel. From the street the Royce feels discreet and a little dark, however once through the front door the foyer opens up to a luxe bright interior. Polished marbles, contemporary feature furniture, chandeliers and mirrored walls create an opulent but not over the top decor. The animal print upholstery is at risk of looking tacky but the space has enough neutral tones to avoid looking garish. Dads room had a balcony which was nice for a drink in the sun, however the divider between all the other rooms was metal bars so not a great deal of privacy. We moved to the bar downstairs which was all mirrors, dangly glass chandeliers and red upholstery. Think fancy brothel. These hotels can have a "sameness" about them, however the Royce did have enough design and service difference to make it more memorable and therefore worthy of its 5 star rating. One of the basic (still great) rooms will be around $230 which is regular for a hotel of this standard.

Yelp
Stayed here for the first time and have to say everything was fantastic. From location, to the facilities to the friendly staff it was a big well done. The bed was so comfortable I slept properly for the first time in days. It was a great stay, a perfect hotel experience.
