Guide to Ko Olina, Oahu

"Overlooking the 18th hole at the local golf club, this upscale restaurant emphasizes high-quality, seasonal ingredients paired with an impressive wine list. Standout preparations include the macadamia nut–crusted local fish of the day, and the dining room provides prime views of the action on the green." - Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna is a theme park and travel journalist who has spent her professional career in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. We’ve been to Roy’s at Ko Olina many times and plan to keep going back! The food is always outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and relaxed. It’s one of our favorite places to dine in Hawaii, every single time.

As the saying goes, you normally get what you pay for. The prices at Roy's may turn off some, but what you get with the price is an amazing dining experience with high quality and delicious meals and friendly service in a wonderful atmosphere. Reservations are recommended. We were promptly seated up on arrival as we had family who were local to the area set up reservations. Our server, Lisa, was amazing and since some of my family was dining at a Roy's for the first time, she explained the items on the menu thoroughly and gave wonderful recommendations. We took her recommendation for the appetizer sampler (The Canoe for Two). The hand made chicken spring rolls were amazing, and the blackened ahi seemed to melt in our mouths. The fish and chips ordered by some of our family was delicious and the fish was very flaky and flavorful. My kids shared a 16 oz ribeye, and even though they ordered it medium well (don't judge), the steak was still juicy and very tender despite being prepared medium well. I had the prime rib sandwich based on Lisa's recommendation, and I would highly recommend this dish (make sure you show up hungry). To end the meal, I highly recommend the chocolate souffle. I would come back just on this dessert alone! What was a very nice touch was that, since it was some of my family's first time to the island, they added in some extras such as an ice cream sandwich and an extra chocolate dessert at no cost! All that said, again, the price point may be a turn off for some, but if you want to do a little fine dining in an absolutely beautiful location, you can't go wrong with Roy's at Ko Olina!

We had such a wonderful experience at Roy’s Ko’Olina. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made the evening feel special. They also have great keiki menu options, which made it perfect for our little one. It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy with family, and we highly recommend it for anyone visiting Ko’Olina!

Had a wonderful dinner on the outside deck on a lovely Hawaiian night. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was outstanding. We started with the baked brie and wine poached apples with macadamia nuts, we also had a spectacular ahi roll, filled with fresh Ahi tuna and spicy sauce over it ,we also had an appetizer of grilled Brussels sprouts that were simply amazing. For our main meals we started with a Plantation Paella, even though we were pretty well stuffed with the abundant appetizers, the paella was superb with nice chunks of lobster and local seafood specialties, that was joined with a fresh Mahi Mahi in a fennel sauce which was delicate, flaky and exquisite, that was joined by a miso butterfish and a Chinese pink snapper that were all fresh, beautifully presented and superbly prepared. I don’t even want to tell you how much of a hit to the wallet this was but by Hawaiian standards this meal and this restaurant were well worth it.

Food options were quite delicious and we all enjoyed our cocktails especially. Environment is much more family friendly and relaxed than maybe expected. Live music was seriously good

Everything was great. I had the Ribeye and the surf and turf maki. The service was excellent. For the sober folk they have non-alcoholic wine. Would definitely visit again.

Went their for my anniversary and loved every minute of it! Our waiter was very attentive and took care of us. They even gave us a little anniversary dessert for our celebration. The food was very delicious and we savored every bite. It is somewhat fine dining, so expect the prices to be high, but it comes with great service and food quality. Great place for special occasions, and would recommend anyone who wants to try what I would describe as japanese/hawaiian food infusion with a twist, if that makes sense. I would highly go back.

Google
We have found the food in Oahu to be a little on the disappointing side but we really enjoyed Roy’s. We ordered the Canoe for Two as an appetizer and it was excellent. I ordered the butterfish for my main course and it was delicious! My husband had the ribeye with shrimp and he felt it was good but nothing great. My son had the braised.. pork? And said it was salty. My daughter had the meatloaf which she did not like but she is very basic, I tried it and liked it but it did have a distinct flavor. The staff was super nice and the view was nice of the golf course. They did bring out complimentary dessert for our kids for their graduation. All in all it was a great meal, just really pricey so I wouldn’t go back as we found other food just as good or better for way less than our $350+ bill for four.

Yelp
Went to Roy's for an Anniversary Date and it was hands down AMAZING. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the two hosts (Male and Female), they immediately took us to our spot to sit. We got sat outside which had a beautiful view of the golf course, live music and an open bar. The music weren't to loud but not to soft, we could actually eat and enjoy our conversation with the music in the background. At our table, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman named Malo. His down to earth, friendly and kind personality was so genuine it made us feel so comfortable and just overall relaxed. He offered us a coat for our baby since it was drizzling and he also was so prompt to refill our waters and buss our tables when our dishes were empty. We were then greeted by our server Caio who was also so friendly and had such a positive vibe to him, he explained to us about the menu and the drinks and his knowledge of the menu was excellent. The manager Chavis also helped us the whole evening, from recommending certain foods, drinks and just talking casual story they both just made us feel "at home". I asked Chavis about the meatloaf , hands down best meatloaf I ever ate. It was very moist, tasty and it left me feeling content. My husband got the lamb rack and the lamb was amazing. It was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Because we were celebrating our anniversary , Chavis and Caio made it a point to make us feel special and came to our table with tasty deserts. The Chocolate Soufflé is my favorite as well as the skillet brownie with the cookie, absolutely amazing. At the end of our night my husband and I were so grateful because of the fact that the food left us content and not overstuffed. Mahalo Malo, Caio, and Chavis for taking care of us and allowing my husband and I to have a beautiful evening. In my opinion it was one of the best anniversary dates we've had and we're so thankful for the Roy's staff for it. Looking forward to next time.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a Thursday night at 7:30 pm. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated outside. The atmosphere was nice - soft lighting, not noisy, and you could see the golf course a little. We ordered: Golden Hour Prix Fixe - Hands down the best deal on the menu. For about $100, you get a full 3-course meal that's very filling. The hamachi and rib appetizers were rich, and the pickled veggies balanced everything out perfectly. The filet was cooked to order with gorgeous grill marks and paired with flavorful roasted veggies. The real standout was the potato and cauliflower galette--so unique and delicious! Dessert was the chocolate soufflé made to order. It did take about 25 minutes after the entrée, but honestly, the time flew by. Baked Brie en Croute for Two - So good! It comes wrapped in puff pastry with honey, poached apples, and mac nuts for crunch. A generous portion, definitely shareable between 2-4 people. Beni's Philly Roll - Not what you'd traditionally expect, but delicious. The bonito flakes added a fun texture, and the rice had a seasoned, slightly brown color that really stood out. Service was excellent throughout the night. After appetizers, we were given moist towelettes to clean up, our waters were consistently filled, and they even offered tea and coffee with dessert. Food came out perfectly paced. They also thoughtfully packed our leftovers in a to-go box and bag. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff went above and beyond. They surprised us with banana pudding tarts decorated with "Happy Anniversary," which really made the night special. This also ended up being a surprise proposal and the staff were able to film it for us. And we are so grateful! The food was delicious, but the true standout was the service--warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They made our anniversary dinner one to remember.

Yelp
Roy's is just a short walk from Aulani Disney Resort. It's located next to the Ko Olina Golf course. We celebrated my Birthday and my wife had made a reservation for my whole family. Roy's made it special by assigning us to a private room. Our server, Kerisa, was very nice and sweet. She gave us the house special menu as well as their special drinks. The staff treated us very special and attended to our needs. I ordered the 16-oz Prime Ribeye. It's huge in portions and the meat came in tender and juicy. They made it the way I liked it. My family enjoyed their dinner as well as my grandson's kids' meal. At the end of our dinner, Roy's gave me a birthday treat by handing me a plate of brownies and ice cream. Roy's made this special day with a nice dinner.

Yelp
Came here with my si for the first time! Ambiance is AMAZING, along with the view ! We started off with their Mele Red Blend and Aperol Spritzer. Then we dined on the Japanese Black Garlic Edamame, Steamed Mussels and and Sashimi Trio. So yummy and esthetically arranged. Service was prompt and they gave us chocolate soufflé complimentary dessert - which I could not try but my sister said it was fabulous.

Yelp
My family and I are visiting from California and celebrating my husband's 65th birthday. We made reservations for dinner before we left California. Our experience the moment we walked in until we got seated was great! We had a private dining area which we didn't expect! All the food we ordered were excellent! We have 2 grandsons and they had a special plate (sorry forgot to take photos) and the boys loved it! Our waitress, Kerissa, was superb! She was on hands with everything! The other staff were wonderful as well! If you are looking for a place to have dinner and have a wonderful experience don't hesitate to come to this place, it is a bit pricey but worth it!

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've been here and I'm happy to know that things haven't changed much, other than some of the food offerings. The service is always top notch, a sign to me that the GM Ty, and staff are doing a good job. My buddy and I came in to enjoy a great HH, and were fortunate to best to dinner rush. Our bar server, Bryson, did an excellent job in seeing to our needs and making sure we had everything we wanted. They offer a nice variety of both draft and bottled beers, along with a good wine selection. The food offered during HH was very extensive, with a nice mix of meat, seafood, and other fresh items. We started with the Sashimi Trio, followed by the Canoe for Two and added more Mongolian Ribs. The sashimi cuts could've been a bit more "generous", but the fish was fresh and tasty. The Canoe really had a good selection of all their appetizers, and our favorite were the Mongolian ribs; nicely smoky and fall off the bone tender. We also had their edamame appetizers; both with sweet chili sauce and the regular seasoned ones. I would definitely opt for the regular, based on flavor. Great food and great service. What more can you expect.

Yelp
Local to Oahu, but the windward side, we were staying at Aulani and wanted a special place to celebrate our anniversary that wasn't on the resort property. We decided on Roy's, and were so happy we did. For holidays they seem to do a fixed menu. They had one for Father's Day, and after looking at the special menu and the normal one, we decided to take a chance on the special one. Again, a great choice. We love trying new things, but being told what to try. This was a perfect example of that. The special menu was 5 courses 1st course- Spicy Island Ahi Temaki- this was amazing. Great way to start the meal. Probably the best sushi cone I've had. 2nd course- House Smoked Local Beef Brisket Toast & Bacon Bean Sip- the only downside to this is I wish there was more! 3rd course- Japan Bluefin Crudo- loved the yuzu! 4th course- For our entrees, we both got the specials that weren't on the menu. I got the lobster tails over mushroom risotto, and my husband got the beef Wellington. Both were amazing. I did abandon my lobster tails when I was getting full to finish the risotto, which felt wrong, but tasted so good! His Wellington was perfection, and we've had Gordon Ramsays version. 5th course- Roasted Local Banana Cheesecake- oh, this was good! Perfect banana flavor and the crust was a biscoff crust and it had Carmel popcorn. We sat outside in the open air, but under cover, overlooking the gold course. The weather was perfect. We had a 6:30 reservation so it was in the sun for only a couple minutes. After walking through the building I think we definitely prefer outside seating. Live music was a great surprise. The staff was delightful. So kind and helpful, and you could tell they truly believed in the food they were serving. Our drinks never sat empty and they checked on us often. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant! I love that it's on the golf course next to the lake. I try to get a table by the window for the view and so my tiny human can spot the swans and ducks. Side note, this is also HER favorite restaurant! Service always exceptional (fave servers are Sin and Kori!) I could eat here every week if I could budget it lol. My tiny human loves the quesadillas she gets as a starter and her favorite is the pasta with the cream sauce. I must say, I have to steal a few bites of her pasta because they make THE BEST cream sauce! She also enjoys the cookie for dessert. I think it's great they give the kiddos a 3 course meal too! It's cute! For appetizers... I'm a creature of habit. I love the mongolian ribs, the chicken spring rolls, and mac and cheese, and my FAVE is the brussel sprouts. SO GOOD! I *also* always get the surf and turf maki and hubby gets the spicy kamikaze. For entrees, my tiny human gets the miso butterfish. It's always cooked perfectly. Hubby usually gets the lamb or the ribeye, and I usually go for the "trio of treasures" for dinner (but for lunch, the club is my go to!) Dessert... I have never left without ordering a chocolate souffle (or two... lol) and they have a pretty good pineapple upside down. The last time I went last month they had a smores cookie which was DECADENT! I love Roy's!

Yelp
This Hawaiian restaurant, Roy's Ko Olina, is the most amazing I have ever attended on the beautiful island of Oahu. We attended as two couples celebrating very long anniversaries and we were treated as if we were very special. We were greeted by the manager and several others and congratulated for our years of marriage. Our orders were completed and absolutely delicious. Our water glasses were filled often and a special dessert for each couple delivered complements of Roy's. Our evening was made very special and could not have been better. Thank you to all ! Rob

Yelp
I was so looking forward to dining here for Easter. Sadly it's the first time I was actually irritated at a restaurant that's supposedly special. Six of us entered as soon as the doors opened at 11:30 a.m. We had a nice table on the upper level with a great view. The server had a toothy smile and loud voice but that was it. She began her spiel without even welcoming us or saying Happy Easter. She told us what today's fish was and what her favorites were. We were left unattended for most of our meal. Even my grandson said how come we came in first and other people have their food? She only reappeared to ask if we wanted plantation ice tea and if were ready for the bill. Truthfully she needs more customer training and to be observant and use initiative to check on guests' tables. At one point 5 of our table stood up to use the restroom cuz we had been patiently waiting a very unacceptable long time. Dessert was no where in sight. The kiddies' pasta looked unappetizing and they both remarked it was too buttery. Son in law who loves sashimi did not care for the appetizer for two's seared fish. Hubs' clubhouse sandwich was okay and he shared his fries with our granddaughter. Flies were on our grandson's cucumbers and we were constantly shooing the flies away throughout our meal. Our table assistant helped a bad situation by boxing my meal as the flies were a problem. She even apologized about the flies. She serviced our table, cleared away the uneaten food and used dishes. We waited and waited. Our server never had a clue that we were kept waiting for the chocolate dessert we preordered and even the kiddies dessert that came with their meal. Not a pleasant way to celebrate Easter. Honestly worst service on this island ever. One star for table assistant Maliah, sweet and efficient. One star for the literally temperature hot yummy chocolate dessert. I gave my entire ice cream scoop to my granddaughter. So sad cuz her kid's pasta was not okay. One star for the very pretty lady with a beautiful smile who brought my entree to the table and said goodbye when we left.

Yelp
Have been coming to here for 10 years with my family every time we stay at Ko Olina and it's one of our favorites for a nice meal. Interesting menu that is seasonal but our favorites are the misoyaki butterfish, compressed watermelon and feta salad, and surf and turf maki. Wait staff here is excellent, very hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. For the past few years we've been getting Sing and he is an amazing server!! He always welcome and remembers us every single time and makes sure we have a great visit. Only thing I wish they could improve was the bathrooms and the paper towels. The men's bathroom was run down and had a weird smell. Considering the price point, I think they should also have nicer paper towels--Roy's in the continental US has thick nice quality towels compared to just ones that come out of the dispenser here.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Roy's Ko Olina on August 28th and had the best experience! We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Our waitress (and her trainee) gave amazing service, and the manager, Chavis, went above and beyond helping us with food and drink choices--truly outstanding customer service. The food was incredible! The Mac & Cheese appetizer was so good my fata** husband grabbed the serving spoon to devour it. I had the Mac Nut Crusted Island Fish and he had the Pulehu Combo--both delicious. They even wished us a Happy Anniversary with our desserts, which was such a sweet touch. From the food to the service to the ambiance, everything was 10/10. And we love that we didn't have to drive into town for such a great dining experience. Highly recommend--we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Service was great. Very nice staff so on that alone is a 5! The live music was also a bonus. I've been to Roy's in different locations and always had a good meal so i expected better. Such a disappointment. I had the macadamia crusted island fish and the butterfish. The island fish was sooo dry and lacked any flavor. The butterfish I remember being less salty. It came with a hand roll with hard, dry rice. They must've used all the salt in my corn soup and entree sauces because there was none left for my friend's sad macadamia crusted tofu. It's literally just a block of tofu topped with a little bit of the crust (which has butter in it but the only other option is a squash dish). At this price point, I expected perfectly cooked fish and a little effort for non-meat eaters. Oh! The dessert. The haupia blondie was a dry coconut flake bar and 1 strawberry on the side. It was more like a macaroon on a soggy crust. Saw "Haupia" and had high hopes. Look, I know it's tourist spot but I also know Roy's is capable of better food.

Yelp
Dinner update: been several years since my last visit and happy to report service, food, ambiance were 5 star from beginning to end. They're known for seafood so we tried the blackened sashimi with the butter sauce it was superb. Hubby got the seafood platter and first time we tried Chilean sea bass, it is like ono but more moist. Lobster tail, scallops all cooked perfectly. We basically ordered a bunch of appetizers and drinks. Worth mentioning the baked brie was to die for, all the flavors perfectly orchestrated with texture in mind. Would be amazing with a bottle of wine on its own. Having all appetizers saved room for dessert too. Warm pineapple upside-down cake ala mode, and mud pie ice cream. Perfect proportions no doggie bag needed but also not all portions leaving you hungry. All said and done it was still pricey $280 for 2 people. Love the easy parking too. The only small critique is no cloth tablecloths, which you expect for the price point But I get it, when times a tough that is unnecessary luxury. Main thing is food and service top notch. Thanks for keeping the standards high for fine dining.

Yelp
Food was underwhelming yet expensive. Ambiance was kinda dark for being on a golf course. Service was decent but nothing spectacular. Mother-in-law's chicken sandwich was dry. Hoisin ribs were too sweet and the meat wasn't tender. SIL's island catch fish was overly salted. The best thing was the mixed greens salad with citrus vinaigrette.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING!!!!!! This is a must-try! The surf and turf sushi was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Yelp
This review is for our experience for Aloha Hour (Happy Hour) which they host daily from 2pm to 5pm. Seating is available on their patio, first come first serve. They had a good selection of food and beverage specials. We ordered the Roy's Canoe for Two, Hurricane Fries, and Cheesy Truffle Orzo Pasta w/ Smoked Pork Belly. Contrary to its name, the Canoe for Two didn't come in a canoe, but rather a large plate lol. There were some items that left much to be desired, such as the blackened ahi and chicken spring rolls. It could be better. The star was definitely the truffle orzo pasta, I would eat a whole plate of it if I could. I ordered an espresso martini that wasn't on the happy hour menu. It was probably one of the best I've had. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us frequently. Would we come back? That's still up in the air. Maybe for a special occasion for dinner. Overall it was a mediocre experience for an upscale restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
The experience, unfortunately did not meet expectation. The location and service was amazing. Our server and everyone took care of us. And the location on the ko'olina golf course was scenic and serene. Some of the food was really good, however the steaks we ordered were far from good. I got a ribeye that looked and tasted like an over cooked sirloin. But added on sea bass which was really good. Wife ordered the filet and it was almost inedible. They took back and brought another that wasn't any better. Think they need to stay with fish. The manager came to the table and tried to make things right. She was nice and professional and appreciate her. It was date night that just didn't meet expectation. If wasn't for the good service we would have given 1-2 stars.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Roy's in so long I forgot how good it is!! We went for sister's bday which was perfect because the servers are really kind and make you feel special. I had which the smoked sous vide lamb chops with apple banana flan and scalloped sweet potato hello????? The lamb was perfectly medium rare and the SIDES were so good So happy we came here for sister's bday! & she even got a special bday dessert

Yelp
Arrived at 11:40am on a Sunday for some drinks and lunch. The outdoor bar was quiet and not crowded at the time (more people started arriving at around 12:30pm). Ordered the truffle corn soup and ahi BLT with fries. Both were delicious. I wish the soup was hotter, but that's just my preference as I love piping hot soup. But the flavors were great. Ahi BLT was good too. The fish was crispy on the outside and not dry. The bread had a nice toast to it. Our drinks were also amazing. Recommend the chili pepper martini and the mango spritz (not pictured). Both very different flavor profiles but tasted great. If you're coming for lunch at a later time, I recommend a reservation as it started to get busy.

Yelp
Roy's is one of my favorite places to eat. Sadly most of the Corporate locations in the US closed, but the ones owned by Roy and the employees are still producing excellent food. This location was recently updated on the inside and the refresh looks great! A trip to Roy's is required on any visit to the islands!
google avatar

Yelp
I love Roy's, so I was heartbroken to see that both Las Vegas locations had closed. Luckily, my family and I were vacationing in Hawaii and decided to eat here on our last night. We made a reservation 2 days in advance, and the only available time was 8 PM. Once we arrived, the hostess immediately greeted us and walked us over to our table. [Ambiance] upscale, tropical atmosphere, packed, and busy with an adequate amount of staff to keep the guests happy. [Service] Outstanding! Our server did an excellent job explaining the menu and providing recommendations for dinner. He made us feel genuinely welcome and even made us laugh - I wish I remembered his name! I had to go with a Roy's classic dish, so I chose: * Misoyaki Butterfish - it was just as buttery, savory, and delicious as I remembered. The sauces complemented everything on the plate. My mom ordered the same thing, and ordered a side of rice, so we shared it. Without the rice, it would've been too salty. I was too full for dessert, but the baked cookie and ice cream my kids ordered looked amazing. They devoured the entire thing in a matter of minutes, so I'm pretty sure it was good - haha. An easy 5-star rating! I highly recommend this location if you're in the area. It was the perfect way to end our vacation. Mahalo, Roy's! :)

Yelp
Roy's Koolina never disappoints! Service is amazing, food is delicious. My sister ordered her steak medium done but was delivered well-done they immediately made it right and with sincere apology.

Yelp
We had been to Roy's in Kauai so we were excited to be back during our stay in Ko'Olina. However our experience wasn't as good as in Kauai. I would actually give our meal 3.5 stars. We started with blackened ahi. It came kind of a mess on the plate, and was just okay, every bite needed sauce otherwise it was flavorless. Organic greens salad, was decent, but for $17 nothing special. Brussels sprouts were good, great flavor, but didn't really taste the prosciutto crumble flavor. We ordered the butterfish, plantation paella, and the Filet. The butterfish is amazing, unbelievable flavor and cooked to perfection. The paella was great too, but the filet was a disappointment, meat was just okay, not worth the money for us. I saw scalloped sweet potatoes on an entree and asked our waitress if I could have it as a side, she was sweet to oblige; and oh my goodness it was delicious! I'm glad I asked for it!! A few dishes were just okay, and a few were excellent. It's an expensive restaurant so I was slightly disappointed. We also ate at Eating House 1849 and enjoyed that meal more!
google avatar

Sang Yoon K.

Yelp
Man they can get 5 stars for just their desserts alone. You should go with a party of 4+ so you have an excuse to order all their desserts. My favorite entree is definitely the pulehu ribs.
google avatar

Suzy V.

Yelp
We have been going to Roy's for 18 years, and this was our first bad experience. We were left outside at a table for quite a while without a server. The hibiscus mimosa, brussels sprouts, edamame and chocolate soufflé were terrific, and our server once we got him was lovely. But the fish was the worst we've ever had. We tried the macadamia nut island fish, which is usually our staple, and it was so fishy. It was inedible. Then the butterfish had a great glaze, but a terrible fishy aftertaste. The waiter was so kind and replaced it with the Seabass, but that was also terribly fishy! I'm not sure if they're getting low quality, fish, frozen fish, or it's a few days old, but it is not what we've come to expect from Roy's.
google avatar

Clèm B.

Yelp
It still is our favorite place to go to celebrate our anniversary when we are in Hawaii. We usually get the same things since the menu does not change a lot. We started with the Brussels sprouts with Parmesan cream. Delicious ! I had the classic duet made of macadamia crust Mahi and miso black cod. Macadamia crust Mahi is one of my favorite. However, I felt like the crust was not as thick and crunchy as it was before. The black cod was amazing though. We finished our dinner with a pineapple upside down cake and we got a brownie offered for our anniversary. Such a nice attention ! Our waitress was friendly and amazing. She was efficient and good advice to help choose dessert I recommend it for a nice celebration

Yelp
I've eaten at Roy's Ko Olina a couple times now while on vacation and it is absolutely outstanding, definitely a treat yourself meal that you know will be quality and indulgent. I love the flavorful complimentary edamame served as a starter and the chicken spring rolls appetizer is absolutely delicious, especially with the sauce that it comes with. My husband enjoyed the most perfect looking steak, glistening really, and my salmon was packed with umami. The ambiance is very classy and nice in the restaurant and service was outstanding. They truly care about your experience here!

Yelp
This is my second time at this Roy's and they do not miss. If you're looking for an upscale place to get great food and have the perfect dining experience from start to finish, this is it. Come here for delicious food, impeccable service, and a great atmosphere. The Food: Every dish we ordered was flawless and cooked to perfection. My favorite is the miso butterfish. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender with rich, buttery flavors and the perfect amount of umani. Definitely one of the signature dishes that I recommend. The Service: The service was absolutely top-notch. Our server, Elan, was extremely attentive without being intrusive. He and the other server were always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They were on top of it. I don't think I've ever had my water refilled so many times. They provided great recommendations and made the entire experience feel seamless and special. Overall, Roy's in Ko Olina is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional food and service. Every dish we tried was perfect, and the service made us feel like VIPs. If you're in the area looking for a great place to eat, this is one spot you won't want to miss!

Yelp
Had the amazing opportunity to eat at Roy's this Christmas and I was definitely impressed. The food was so good and my only problem was that I couldn't try everything!! I will say the Mongolian ribs were my all time favorite!! As well as the soufflé. The staff was great. Attentive and prompt. Answered all my questions & were very polite. Even leaving the restaurant I was greeted by staff that I hadn't even spoken to before. Loved the outdoor atmosphere. I actually prefer outdoor seating to indoors. I can't wait to return

Yelp
We are staying at our ts in KoOlina resort and it's easy to just walk over to Roy's leisurely for lunch. Had been here for dinner a couple of times before and do love their signature sable fish dish. Really like their lunch menu--we both ordered the Fish Katsu sandwich--crispy thick cut fish filet along with bacon, lettuce and tomato slices on a toasted bun. It was so thick hard for me to bite into yet it's fine for my hubbys big mouth Came with lightly seasoned fries and a couple of sauces on the side. What a nice ambiance, relaxing golf course views, tables set far apart, soft listening music.... Waitstaff professional and efficient, water refilled frequently. Will definitely come back again just for the Fish Katsu BLT sandwich.

Yelp
When visiting Hawaii, Roy's is a must for date night and for any and every celebration! This location is located to Koolina at the Koolina Golf Course. It overlooks the course so you're sure to have a beautiful view! The service is top notch! The servers know their menu and can answer any questions and the runners ensure your water never goes past half empty. This time, we came to celebrate our anniversary! They are always sure toto congratulation you and always have a personalized complimentary dessert at the end! Here's what we got: Appetizer: Canoe for 2 which is a selection of their most popular appetizers (spicy ahi roll, chicken spring roll, shrimp tempura, seared ahi, & ribs). They come with 2 of each to be shared. It was the perfect tasting menu! We both liked the ribs the best! Ahi Katsu Sandwich: I absolutely loved this! It had all my faves in one sandwich: avocado, tomato, lettuce, bacon, and lightly battered ahi with a side of fries! Definitely recommend if you love ahi Katsu! Fish & Chips: These are made with the fresh catch of the day which happened to be kampachi! My hubby loved the light but crispy batter and that it came with ocean seaweed salad and other picked veggies. Kids Menu: our 2 year old daughter tagged along and this is the boujiest kids menu ever! But, our daughter loved it! It's a 3 course meal! First course: cheese quesadilla, veggies with ranch, and fruit. Next, we selected teriyaki salmon for her entree which came with rice, green beans, and steamed carrots. Lastly, for dessert, an ice cream sandwich! She def ate ALOT! Overall, we'll be back for pretty much every special occasion since this is now our daughter's favorite restaurant!

Yelp
My family and I went to Roy's to celebrate Mother's Day and I have to say overall it was good..definitely a place that's nice to go to once in awhile. I had the plantation paella which was nice the paella itself was okay however the seafood that it came with was cooked so nicely! I'm not a lobster person but I'm glad I got to taste the lobster here at Roy's it was nice tender and buttery and not over cooked/rubbery or tough to eats the shrimp was very nicely seasoned and plumped and the clams tasted nice and fresh also tender. The Mother's Day special came with cute little starters like the devil egg tart which was topped with caviar. Think elevated devils egg lol the second was a nice cute little rice starter with wagyu Thinly sliced and paired nicely with the garnishes and chili oil. And lastly a scallop with a nice citrus drizzle drizzle and some sea asparagus which made the textures nice all together. The egg tart was okay I thought the way the presented it was really pretty and I enjoyed the tart more then I did the egg filling and the caviar and ikura gave it a nice salty balance. The rice starter was probably my favorite with chili oil and the play on crunchy textures it had really was a winner the scallop was okay. I'm not much of a scallop girlie but the citrus drizzle drizzle they had over it made it nice and the play on textures with the crunchy sea asparagus and what seemed to me like rice crackers made it enjoyable. The dessert they had for the Mother's Day special was a pear tart which my husband really enjoyed and I'm all about the chocolate soufflé!! It was nice and warm when it came out oozing with dark chocolate that was decadent the soufflé exterior has that nice crunchy bits that compliment the moist inside sooo soo good!! I'm not so much of a raspberry person so I could personally do without the raspberry pairing but I know dark chocolate and raspberry goes nicely together. Hit it with some of that vanilla ice cream and the warm and cold combo for me will always win!!! lol The desserts were yummy!! And the caramel sauce that came with the tart wasn't overly sweet it was just perfect!! I enjoyed everything with a chili pepper martini which was nice!! And my son had the kids short ribs that came with a nice size piece of meat and some awesome mashed potatoes and veggies his portion could honestly pass for an adult entree tbh lol the kids meal also comes with their own appetizers which I thought was adorable! It consisted with veggies fruit and two cheese quesadillas and a side of ranch. The waiters were awesome!! I'm usually on it with asking their names but it totally slipped my mind. They were very personable and on it! Mahalo for all your folks hard work on Mother's Day!! Overall Roy's isn't a place that we go often but like I mentioned in the beginning it's a nice place to go once in awhile. The pricing is on the higher side of dining so just expect to throw down some monies. It's a nice place to have personable celebrations for your loved ones. I think going with people you love makes the experience eating here a lot more worth it! The company is the main and food highlights the company your with in my own opinion. The pricing can be alittle overwhelming for those who aren't really use to eating at high end places..just remember this place is attached to koolina and if you know koolina itself is a pretty boujee place for vacationing. Thank you again Roy's for celebrating mothers today aloha and much blessings

Yelp
I will say this - I'm a Roy's fan and have tried to find a Roy's wherever I visit and this was my least favorite Roy's. It's off Ko'Olina golf course and feels more like clubhouse restaurant then a true "Roy's". The inside was kind of old with dingy carpet. The menu wasn't my fav- kind of all other the place with brisket options, sushi, fish dishes. We started with egg rolls which were very good. They also give complimentary edamame. I got their espresso martini which was very good and creamy. I got the Misoyaki butter fish that came with bok choy and taro root. Didn't love the taro I landed up asking for a side of rice but a nice whipped potato would also go great. My guest got the paella which was good. The salmon dish is kind of odd and bland on noodles reminds me like of a ramen but super bland. Ended with the chocolate soufflé which to me was more molten cake then true Souffle but still very good. Meal was definitely pricy for 4 people over $300.

Yelp
My family and I go to Roy's pretty often. We love their fish entrees, and the portions are always huge and satisfying. We recently tried their new $17 halo-halo, and tbh it wasn't it. As someone Filipino, I appreciate the attempt at a modern twist, but this version strayed a bit too far. The playful approach is understandable, but the execution didn't quite land for us. That said, Roy's still has a wide array of delicious desserts - I'd recommend sticking with the classic lava cake instead.

Yelp
Made a reservation online for dinner at 7:15pm. The place was popping. I wish there was more of an atmosphere or view of the outdoors but it was jsut really dark. The restaurant itself is a bit old in style but still a vibe. Staff were all super friendly and nice. Very helpful when it came to what to order. We got a few dishes: Appetizer: Wood Smoked Mongolian Spiced Baby Back Ribs - amazing fall off the bone. Sauce was delicious, had a sweetness but not too sweet. A great way to start the meal! Entrees: Honey Mustard Charred Braised Beef Short Rib - we understood why it was one of the top dishes. So tender and so soft. Sides went very well with the dish. My partner LOVED this dish - 10/10 Pan Roasted Chilean Sea Bass - probably one of the best sea bass I've had in my life. I would order this again no doubt. Seared to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. 10/10 Dessert: Chocolate soufflé - so rich in chocolate, warm and fluffy, with ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. We were also given another complimentary dessert plate as we were celebrating just getting engaged which was a really nice surprise. So thank you Roy's for making a special memory for us :)

Yelp
Food was a 2, ambiance was a 4, food was a 3. At this price point, the brisket should not be dry, otherwise don't have it on the menu. We came for aloha hour with a 1:45 reservation and ordered from both the lunch and normal lunch menu. The only saving grace were the drinks, which came out slow but were delicious, and the waterside dining in the back.

Yelp
My husband and I love Roy's. It is our go-to for our anniversary dinner. We have never had a bad experience, but tonight was exceptional. Our family came for dinner to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Danielle and Malo were taking care of us and they were the perfect duo! They were both kind, attentive, personable, professional, and took great care of us all night! The food was great as usual. I just wanted to make sure that Danielle and Malo got the appreciation and recognition they deserve! Thanks for a great night!

Yelp
Another excellent family dinner at Roy's Ko Olina! We were getting together because our cousin just got back from deployment and of course, our family chose Roy's. My favorites tonight were the brie and toast appetizer, the surf and turf maki roll appetizer, the barbecue brisket and shrimp, and the li hing mui key lime cheesecake. I also tried the most perfectly beautiful ribeye, and a citrus marinated blackened fish. All onolicious. Mahalo staff, dinner exceeded expectations.

Yelp
Eating at Roy's is very consistent and enjoyable. Service was lovely with the only hiccup being what the chef could make for my gf hubby. Our server was new and just needs a little bit more time to get familiar with allergies etc. We had the orzo Mac and cheese, the Roy's Cobb salad, the honey mustard short rib and the citrus hamachi (gf). Food was delicious as usual. It's hard finding gf foods with Asian profiles (without the use of tamari) but the hamachi was beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambiance. It seems they are in the middle of a renovation - the outside looks lovely with the addition of a new deck and bar. Will be back when we visit again!!

Yelp
Location: KoOlina Golf course. Lots of parking in the front or a nice walk from your hotel/timeshare within KoOlina. Service: Friendly Host/Hostess, seated us promptly. Ambiance: Large open restaurant with high ceilings. Tables also available outside. Food: great appetizers and many dishes to choose from. We always enjoy the pre fixe menus. Great place for the family or date night on the west side.

Yelp
10/10 Birthday Experience! I honestly don't even know if I can put into words how perfect my birthday dinner was at Roy's. From start to finish, everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had gotten everyone's names who helped us, because the service was top-notch across the board. Special shoutout to the manager, Travis--thank you for going the extra mile to make the night feel special! I did the 3-course prix fixe meal and every course was incredible. The dessert that came with it was already perfect, and then they surprised me with a birthday dessert too, which made the evening even sweeter. Roy's has always been one of my favorite spots for any occasion, and this visit just reminded me why. They make every visit feel like a celebration. I truly can't thank the staff enough. Highly recommend without a doubt every single time!

Yelp
Roy's (this one) became our favorite spot for our Anniversary/Birthdays etc. while we lived on island. We visited the one in Baltimore one year, it was good, but Ko Olina's location has always been and after this last visit cemented itself into our favorite spot. It is expensive, but not pretentious, and the quality of the food cannot be beat. Each bite is amazing, truly amazing. The ambiance is fine dining, but can be relaxed casual or it can be a tuxedo type of night. You will be treated as it is a tuxedo type of night regardless if you threw on clothes after snorkeling in one of close-by lagoons like we did. We walked in with no reservation and was seated immediately. (I would make reservations) as it got super busy during the course of our meal. Our waitress was Danielle and Marie, both were awesome, and treated us like ohana. Our glass never ran dry, and our Edname was replaced as I ate it. Our meals were amazing, each bite a culinary work of art, and worth every penny spent. It is definitely a high-end date night for us, and way above our normal meal spending range, but we never regret it. From start to finish, our dining experience was an evening that will be remembered, not just for the incredible food, but for all the staff we interacted with, especially Danielle & Marie.

Yelp
2nd time here, and still no complaints. Our first time here was our wedding reception dinner with a total of 30 guests. Our coordinator worked with the restaurant in terms of reservations, and a set menu, and our menu items. The night was perfect, a lot of drinks, great food, and great attentive staff. Our most recent visit was about last week for my husband's birthday. We got seated a few minutes early (yay), and a staff member immediately took our drink orders. All of the staff were nice and attentive :) we got a few appetizers (ponzu chicken wings were my fave), opted for the braised beef entree (the main reason why I wanted to eat here again) with mashed potatoes instead of the cauliflower gratin, chocolate souffle for dessert and they gave him a complimentary birthday dessert. They refilled our waters and drinks promptly and it was such a nice dining experience! The establishment is nice with a pretty view and clean. We will definitely come back to celebrate our special occasions, and will try different menu items!

Yelp
Roy's never disappoints. A little on the pricey side. Good quality food. Always had music to soothe you mind & soul. Service is quick typically. Might have to wait a little while if you order big.

Yelp
We just love Roy's. I experienced the famous butterfish many, many moons ago and knew whenever I came back to HI that I would have to order it again. It was our last night on Oahu and we came here after a day at the beach. 7:30p reservations and the place was packed with couples and families alike. What we swallowed: *SASHIMI TRIO: Man on man, each piece just melted in your mouth. I could have ordered just another dish of this. The hamachi was like butter! *BUTTERFISH: It was everything I remember: the perfect balance of sweet and salty with a perfect crust, served with lotus root. *Chef's kiss* What a treat! *SHORT RIBS: Hubby ordered this and this was so tasty as well! *MOLTON LAVA CAKE: Hot and creamy and heavenly. Perfect way to top off dinner! We had such a great experience. My hubby didn't like his drink and they happily took it back and gave him another one. The butterfish was so memorable and the server was super nice to our kids, even giving them seconds on their ice cream sandwich since our lava cake took so long. Always a memorable experience at Roy's, thank you!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my friend's baby shower. I can say that all the food that we ordered were amazing. The servers here really worked hard to provide us great service, they make sure we got everything we needed and they keep coming back to check on us and refilling our drinks. My favorite was the baked brie with honey and pear and the lamb chops. I will definitely come back here.
