This is the most amazing meal I’ve had in my life. Drinks were great! We had the canoe sampler appetizer and everything on it was delicious. Fish entrees were also so good. Peanut butter crunch bar for dessert. Servers very attentive. 10/10 on the whole experience. I have absolutely zero complaints!

Not going to lie - this was a really expensive meal. By leaps and bounds the priciest of our time in Oahu. BUT its one of the few expensive restaurants I've dined at that are worth the price for some of their dishes. I had 4 favorites: The Misoyaki Butterfish was superb - both flaky and flavorful! The Blue Crab Dynamite Fish Tempura Lobster knocked it out of the park as well with the amazing Shallot & Mushroom Risotto at the bottom. Ugh so good. I wish I could have ordered more of that risotto on the side! The Frying Dragon Roll was a wonderful crunchy treat with the wasabi butter adding just the right level of kick to start off the meal. The Garlic Parmesan Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp was pretty epic as well. My family had a little debate over whether the Shrimp or the Lump Crab Ravioli made the dish (I argued for the Ravioli). Bit of Bad: If you check any of my other reviews, its not hard to tell that I LOVE dessert. Typically always leave space for it and did here at Roy's Waikiki. We tried the Signature Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and the Pandan Panna Cotta special they had at the time. And while the Pandan Panna Cotta was bright, light, and refreshing, the two Hot Desserts were fairly major letdowns. Both tasted just below average and at double the price I've paid anywhere else. I'd skip and get dessert elsewhere if you still have the space after the rest of the amazing meal you'll have at Roy's Waikiki.

High end restaurant but well worth the dinner. Expect to pay about $50 per person depending on what you get. The price is high but it is well worth it. There are plenty of tables but only a few you have a party of 6 or more so be ready to wait if you have a large party. If you have less, you can probably get a table but doesn't hurt to make reservations. The waiters here are very attentive and my water glass or beer glass was never empty. Be aware some of the main courses here do take time but once I tasted my food it was good. It also wasn't one of those restaurants with not enough to eat. I was definitely full after my meal and I enjoyed all of it. I got the deluxe meal which came with a variety of different food so good for if you can't decide this was a good go to. Overall, the atmosphere here is great for a date, for family, for a get together with friends, or just dinning alone too. Well worth your $$$ to spend on the high end food. You'll come out full.

I may have discovered my new favorite seafood dish! It's the misoyaki butterfish! 11/10 The macadamia crusted fish of the day was the swordfish for us. 10/10 The jumbo prawn and the The lobster ravioli was great. 9/10 For appetizers we ordered the bigeye ahi tostada and the Shibby roll. Both 9/10, 10/10 The food was amazing!

Came here with a group of 9 for a vacation. I got the catch of the day (sword fish) on spaetzle and an appetizer of crab cakes. My girl and i finished off a chocolate souffle and delicious scoop of vanilla ice cream. First, I'd like to give my compliments to the chef, as that was by far the best plate of fish i have ever had the pleasure of eating. I was practically drinking it. Secondly, I'd like to highlight the staff for being extremely attentive and so nice. Again, i haven't ever experienced hospitality such as this, and it really comes along with the price you pay. They treat you well and make sure you have all you need during the meal. After dinner was served, they brought out towelettes to help with the edimame they started everyone with. What a spectacular experience at a modern eatery amongst so many tourist eateries serving deep fried slop in the most American way. I highly suggest you try this place even if you buy the cheapest thing on the menu. I will return as often as I'm able to in my lifetime. Thank you so much to Roy's for an unforgettable experience.

I took my son here to celebrate his high school graduation. We visited on a Saturday evening and were seated right away for our reservation. We both opted for the tasting menu to try what we expected would be the best of what Roy’s has to offer. I added the wine pairing. The restaurant didn’t seem overly crowded, but the service staff were spread very thin, rushing between tables. The wine pairings were served in the wrong order (port with my appetizer and Sauvignon blanc with the steak) and the courses were slow to come - a half hour for the main. The appetizer was my favorite, with the Brussels sprouts and zucchini bao matching well. Unfortunately the shrimp were overcooked to a mealy/mushy texture in the main course, but the steak was cooked medium rare as requested. Dessert was an overly runny soufflé and they added an extra dessert of chocolate decadence cake with a congratulatory note for my son. The staff were kind and helpful when I asked for corrections, but the experience definitely suffered. I don’t mind paying $285 for a special-occasion meal for two, but I would have expected details to be right at this price.

Google
I have to comment on the service first. It was the best service we have experienced in Oahu . The servers where knowledgeable of the menu and kept food on the table for all parts of the meal. It was full experience. Next, the food... yes please! Every person loved their order. There were several options for kids as well. The souffle came recommended and it didn't disappoint, it was the perfect dessert. Don't miss out on Roy's, make your reservation soon!

Google
The service is good, our waiter was very attentive. The medium rare burger we ordered was overcooked. The butterfish was good but had too much mustard for my taste, its 60 bucks so I was disappointed it does not come with a side. The crab cake appetizers were delicious and the edamame they bring as free appetizer was pretty good.

Yelp
Very good service. But, My work colleagues raved about the miso butterfish. Apparently I need to order that somewhere else.

Yelp
Showed up for our reservation and were promptly seated. Our two waiters (one was named Mike) were excellent at providing recommendations and local knowledge--hugely appreciative of their expertise on both the menu and the island. The atmosphere was clean and orderly, and definitely gave the impression of a serious and refined dining establishment ‍ The Szechuan ribs as part of the Canoe sampler were incredible--we went non-verbal after trying them. Every piece of the meal was rich and well seasoned, and the dessert we got (chocolate soufflé) wasn't too sweet--perfectly balanced and gone all too quickly. This place was an amazing recommendation from a friend, and I can't pass that on enough.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Roy Yamaguchi's restaurants, having eaten at locations on Maui, Kaua'i, and the mainland numerous times. The preparations are always appealing and delicious. We started with drinks and a rainbow sushi roll. I had a nice Chinese-style steamed snapper dish, and my wife had an equally good seafood entrée. The servers were on-point, almost to excess. Every time I took a sip from my glass of ice water, a guy was there, reaching across my plate to top it off. The real problem here is the ridiculous noise level. It was ear-splitting. I would go far as to say that this was the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. I had to literally shout at the top of my lungs to communicate with my wife across the table from me. The sound app on my iPhone registered 90 dB, but it seemed even higher than that. I quickly developed a headache, and had to swallow four Advil tablets. We did not stay for dessert. For this reason, regrettably, I would not come back here.

Yelp
Located in Waikiki, it's been a while since Lunch was served. On the corner across from the Halekulani, parking is available at the Embassy Suites. Came here for a media preview of the lunch menu. I will hands down tell you that my favorite will always be miso butterfish. I did like the crab cake that was available and the burger. Pricing isn't bad at all and reasonable considering where you are. There is live music and a full bar to enjoy. So anyone want to meet for lunch?

Yelp
Friendly service from the get go. Was greeted by the Host (Kayla?) who showed us to our table and also pointed out the location of the restroom for me. Our server was Tanya. She was great as well as the others who tended to us and kept our water glasses full. The coffee was great and the refills were coming too. I had the cobb salad with prawns for an additional charge. I love how they put it on a stick. The appetizers were delicious. We had the ribs and crab cakes. The atmosphere is wonderful. I felt like I was on vacation. There's a musician who plays guitar and sings. He was amazing. All around great vibes here. You can see how the employees love their jobs by the way they treat their patrons.

Yelp
5 Stars - A Must-Try for Locals and Visitors Alike! As a local foodie, I've had my fair share of great eats around the island, but Roy's Waikiki always delivers an experience that keeps me coming back. Now that lunch is back, it's the perfect excuse to enjoy their signature flavors in the heart of Waikiki. This would a great place to have a business lunch, in their classy cozy atmosphere, not to mention, their award winning service. I stopped by for lunch and was blown away by the Sambal Plum Glazed C.A.B. Burger - perfectly juicy with just the right kick of heat. Also must tries are the HK Crab Cakes and Frying Dragon Roll, And of course, Roy's classics never disappoint - the Seared Big Eye Tuna was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, while the Szechuan Pork Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a bold, flavorful glaze. What makes the experience even better? Live music during lunch hours and happy hour from 2-4 PM - the perfect way to unwind with a cocktail and ono pupus. Plus, validated valet parking at Embassy Suites makes it so easy to drop in without the usual Waikiki parking struggle. Whether you're a longtime fan or trying Roy's for the first time, this spot never misses. Definitely adding this to my regular lunch rotation!

Yelp
Solid experience and I have now been trio Roy's in 3 different islands and 3 different states back in the mainland. This place never disappoints...this has to be one of my favorite locations it's just classic and iconic right in the middle of Waikiki next to the ocean. Inside restaurant takes you back but it always super clean and spotless. Service always A+ our waitress last night was amazing! For dinner we split a couple of things the beach canoe appetizer. I would highly suggest this. It gives you all the great things on one plate...egg rolls, shrimp skewers, ribs and sushi. For dinner we also split the Beach walk trio which is butter fish, macadamia nut halibut and salmon. If you come here and don't try the butter fish I am telling you that you have missed out!! All the fish here is amazing but that butter fish is something special. Topped off the night with their specialty pineapple upside down cake and be pre-warned you have to order this at least 30 mins in advance or your not getting any. Trust me it's worth it! I am not even a big desert person and I get it every time I am here! Great experience and would highly recommend.

Yelp
Roy's never misses a step, no matter what location you're dining at. The Waikiki restaurant isn't on the water but the outdoor tables along Lewers and Kalia offer an entertaining view of the tourist scene. The service is as impeccable as any other Roy's location, as is the food. They're currently running a fantastic deal for lunch: a 2-course Prix Fixe for $56 (1st course: Bigeye Blackened Ahi, 2nd course: Asian BBQ Pulled Beef & Duck Confit). For dessert, don't sleep on the Waikiki Mud Pie - and have it first if you're a dessert fiend like me. The only challenge to that location is the same for most Waikiki restaurants - parking. They offer validation for parking at the Embassy Suites - it's valet only and $8 for 4 hours. BUT if you dine between 10am-3pm it's free - just don't go one second over 3pm because you will get charged!!

Yelp
Great experience! We had a nice family dinner, a celebration of our son and his fiancée engagement. Great drinks. Our waiter is very attentive food came fast and great service.

Yelp
We made a reservation for dinner for my wife's birthday. The staff couldn't have been nicer when we arrived and even gave us a complimentary desert for her birthday. We have been to Roy's in other locations. This one is lovely. Great high end dining experience in the environment and service. But the fish didn't hit the mark on this visit. My wife was so looking forward to the butter fish. I ordered a combo of their fish dishes. Unfortunately we both didn't love our dishes. The fish was fishy in a way that we didn't enjoy. It was likely an off night, as we've always throughly enjoyed Roy's in the past. I'll reiterate, the place is very nice and the staff is 5 stars all the way. The lower rating is due to our meal on this night being off for us both. The drinks and desert were fantastic as was the service.

Yelp
The Original Roy's Waikiki is a very classy fine dining restaurant. I had the Macadamias Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi in a lobster sauce and finished with their famous Pineapple Upside Down Cake. The food is stunning and divinely delicious, and the service is on point. While it is pricey, make one of your nights on Oahu a special occasion by dining at Roy's. 2

Yelp
Roy's is always a good option. A little past 5 pm, driving on the way to Waikiki for some ramen as Stix when Hubs suddenly had a craving for some meat. (Really?) I didn't think we'd get in but I decided to call anyway. Wow. The universe was on one side because there was an opening at 6 pm. We valet parked at Embassy Suites, the closest to the restaurant, as usual. We checked in at 5:30 and were seated right away. The moment we sat down we were already given water, garlic edamame. I kid you not, this place runs like a well oiled machine. We already knew what we wanted, having been here many times for the past 2 decades. We generally come to this location when we're in town as the location is in the heart of Waikiki. Sometimes you just want to be in the crowds for the touristy vibes. Hubs took the servers recommendation and ordered the beef cheeks. Good thing because it was super tender and flavorful. We all were nibbling in his dish. DD was her usual mac crusted fish with swordfish, catch of the day. Delicious. The only downside was her asparagus was a bit chewy (old). I decided to order something different and got the Blackened Ahi tuna entree. Thinly sliced, seasoned, and so fresh. There were bites where the Wasabi was a bit too much but the bowl of rice helped alleviate the burn . We were planning on dessert, already having Nana's in mind as our original plan. But I caved and ordered the pineapple upside down cake. Not sure why but there were tons on pineapple (no complaints) but it was missing the cake part. It was different than how they made it the last time we were visiting. The ice cream and sauce was delicious. Overall we had an enjoyable experience especially being last minute accommodations. Staff were friendly the moment we walked in.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a special birthday. First, the good. The service was great. They were accommodating to our table requests, our server was funny with great recs, and we were frequently checks in on. We started with a couple canoes of dim sum. The sushi rice was a little too sticky and mushy (like the supermarket kind) and the filling was scarce, but flavor-wise was okay. I ordered a filet mignon (medium rare) with blue crab pomme. The blue crab pomme was fantastic. I loved the bits of crab in the buttery mashed potatoes and could probably eat a whole tub of it. Unfortunately when I cut into my steak it was a solid well over done. The error was quickly fixed and soon another hot plate returned. While it was cooked medium rare, it was a little sinewy and gritty to cut vs the smooth cut I'm used to with a cut like this. The mashed potatoes also seemed like they were from my previous plate, because suddenly there was less and now that taste and texture that I loved from the first bite seemed to have lost its lustre. Not sure if it was or not, but the magic of it was lost somehow. We ended the night with a round of desserts and I think the table agreed that the desserts were the savior of the night. Everyone loved theirs. I ordered a sorbet that was delightful and our lava cakes, bread pudding, and pies were also raved about. So there you have it... the good, the bad, the questionable.

Yelp
Here's my TL;DR review: Parking - Valet at Embassy Suites (Validated $8) SURPRISE - they have a vegan menu! If you ask they will provide it. I've tried both the regular and vegan menu items. Well made with a touch of TLC. Service took some time since they are always quite busy but they do make sure to pace it well. Ambiance was romantic. They spaced the guests out so you could get your privacy. An item to note: their menu is slightly different at every location. We went to this one because we saw vegan items.

Yelp
I ate here last night with some of my girlfriends and we all had not only a wonderful time thanks to great company, but we fully enjoyed our dishes and the amazing service as well. Upon confusion when seating, they moved us seamlessly from a 5 seater to 4 seater back to 5 seater without problem and very graciously! I tried the Palala roll, shibby roll and frying dragon roll and they were all delicious but I loved the palala roll best. I also tried their edamame and it was pretty good but not sure if I would order that myself. The star of the show was the melting lava cake though! Incredibly smooth, sweet, buttery chocolate flavor. I didn't even need the ice cream to enjoy it. I would come here just for that cake wow. We ate in the main dining room, I was honestly amazing how many areas they had for dining! Not only outside but like 3 different areas to sit. Our group was a little loud I think but overall noise was not bad and we talked with ease. All in all a lovely evening and would love to visit again.

Yelp
Been coming to Roy's for years. Love the vibe, either on the patio or inside, and the food is always on point. Macadamia Nut encrusted local catch (Mahi Mahi) was next level - truly that Lobster sauce was eye watering. The filet mignon was a solid second. Lava souffle always life changing. Service from Asher was a solid 5 stars (Thank you Asher for giving us the time to truly relish the evening, you were fantastic). Always good to see the gracious Diva who has been making people smile here longer than we have been grateful customers (15+ years). Thank you to the entire Roy's team. See you soon.

Yelp
Great service by our waiter Yoshi and jarred Probably the best service I had in Hawaii. It's like he remembered the whole menu and the wine he recommended we paired with dinner was amazing. Had the blackened ahi appetizer crab cakes and rainbow roll followed with a New Zealand sav blanc and dinner we shared the butter fish shrimp and short ribs. The manager Evin came at the end to check on our food and suggested a scotch to end the meal tag went perfectly with our chocolate soufflé.

Yelp
good food , good service and good vibe ! Definitely recommend!!!!!!! I went there twice and my sister in law went 3 times in a row.

Yelp
Lee killed the service, we were seated at the bar as the host stayed all the patio tables were full for happy hour. Lee was in top of everything in every direction. The food was put in fast and the delivered even faster. All the dishes were delicious. Might try to make it for Christmas for dinner but heard it was almost full. The ambience is great!

Yelp
Roy's was a good experience overall. The food was excellent, which was definitely the highlight of the night. The sushi was the best sushi I've ever had. We got the rainbow roll and it was delicious. For entries we got the filet and the waikiki combo. Both dishes were excellent. The filet was cooked perfectly (medium rare) which is honestly a tall task these days. The short rib was great, the fish was great. We ordered pineapple upside down cake for dessert and although it was decedent and delicious, we found the pineapple to cake ratio a bit off. It needed a bit more cake in my opinion to balance out the pineapple. Still good, nonetheless. It's a bit pricey, though the food is good. Our dinner, sushi app, desserts and 2 drinks ended up costing somewhere near $250. Not completely unreasonable given the quality of the food, but I would expect maybe a few more small details to come with a price tag like that.

Yelp
Monday night 7:30 reservation for 2. I was surprised at how large the dining area was inside, and somewhat disappointed by how large it was - I'd been looking forward to a more it intimate setting. We were seated on time for our reservation in a cute 2-person booth, but then the waiter came by SO fast for food and drink orders (too soon!). Paper menus felt a little cheap for such an upscale restaurant. Here's a rundown of what we had: - Edamame to start at the table (free amuse bouche) - Crispy zucchini bao buns to start (really liked the crispy buns) - Tofu Yaki Tetsuyaki on an iron plate which came out piping hot and steaming and was very flavorful (but wasn't as crispy as I would've liked) - Fish sampler - Misoyaki Butterfish (the star - so good)), Hibachi Grilled Salmon (also quite flavorful), and Macadamia Nut Fresh Mahi (just ok) - Chocolate soufflé was more cakey that moussey, but still very good; portion size was small but still shareable Server - Tanner. Good suggestions.

Yelp
Went there for my birthday dinner celebration - which was an excellent choice, they gave me a birthday hat on greeting us to bring us to our table, making me feel special on my birthday, with even a free dessert after dinner with a birthday message written on it. It is a bustling restaurant with plenty of seating and nice decor - we were placed in a booth which gave us a more private dining feel in a busy restaurant. Great for bigger parties and special occasion meals. The food and service was great- our waiter was lovely and friendly, helping us with any questions on the menu- we picked the canoe sample for two to start and then mains as macadamia nut crusted local catch and the pork shank- all delicious and nicely cooked and presented, all plates were devoured. And to finish it all off with the birthday dessert was a great treat and perfect for my birthday meal.

Yelp
Roy's overall doesn't really impress me. They're the typical high-end (ie, steak and seafood) type restaurant, and with that, expensive prices. Sure, their dishes aren't bad... but nothing blows me off my feet. They're also a chain (they have a spot in California). Their chocolate lava cake is pretty good -- it melts in your mouth. Service was wonderful, so a great spot for folks who want to celebrate an anniversary or birthday. Volume was a bit loud inside, it was harder to converse with the party. But when it comes to Hawaii, the bar is high for food. So although Roy's is decent, they're not on my must-eat list.

Yelp
Roy's is one of our favorite splurge restaurants, and we learned last year that our picky 4-yo son is a fan of the food as well. We went to the San Diego Roy's for two consecutive dinners. The Waikiki Roy's definitely had a more upscale feel, and once we got seated service was super attentive. Dishes were cleared promptly and water glasses never empty. The food was excellent, though we felt the quality at San Diego was better. 4 stars overall rating. * The Kid's Hibachi Salmon comes with a full appetizer plate with cheese quesadillas. Salmon was cooked perfectly. * The fish entrees are always worth a splurge. The Miso Butterfish is soft and sweet and a staple at Roys, but in terms of price the Opakapaka takes the cake at over $80! It comes with Dungeness crab and mushroom risotto. Very good, creamy luxurious dish but also very rich. *The pork ribs with Mongolia Sauce on the side is another one of our favorites. We did find the meat less seasoned and less juicy than San Diego Roy's, but still very good ribs. * Fried Zucchinis was served tempura-style on top of some crispy buns - another good dish. * For dessert we shared some donuts with a mini creme brulee. OK dish but nothing too memorable. We were just too full to make room for their famous chocolate lava cake.

Yelp
We tried their new lunch menu Ocean view prices without the ocean view. Miso butterfish was great but too salty . Poor acoustics inside so we could barely hear our lunch companions. It would be better to sit outdoors if it's not too hot. For the money, I'd still go to orchids at Halekulani, instead of this place. 1/21/2025

Yelp
We had a dinner reservation late in the evening. Even though we were one of the last reservations we didn't feel rushed. This restaurant was a recommendation. Walking distance from our hotel. Prime location. The service and the food were exceptional. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the knowledge of the host. Would recommend!

Yelp
We were celebrating two of our girlfriend's birthdays and it did not disappoint. They have happy hour on the weekends and their happy hour food was pretty good. It was nice sitting outside on the patio to people watch. They have a garage to park in and validated our parking. We ordered everything on their happy hour menu and also their escargot. The escargot was so yummy! Reminded me of when we were in Paris on the sidewalks and people watching. The service was superb! Definitely a fun and young group who were attentive and very professional. I highly recommend this spot for dinner!

Yelp
Amazing service from the host stand to being seated and our server was so attentive to my food allergies. They are very meticulous if you mention any food allergies and will be conscientious about cross contamination - I'm very appreciative of that. I had low expectations in all honesty especially with them being right smack in the hotel and tourism area with high priced food items on their menu but wow! It is worth every penny. I ordered the baked escargot to start and I would say it is in my top 5 favorites I've had. For my main dish I had the bigeye ahí carpaccio and that was such a good firm texture, dense and meaty. The flavors complimented each other in every bite with a sweet and savory then the citrus. I forgot the name of the plates my friends got but I did try a rib, for me it was too salty for my taste, I would not order that plate specifically. Then they were both served a guava dessert for their birthdays which was a nice touch to end the night. Space was clean didn't feel congested.

Yelp
When in Hawaii, we knew we had to try one (or a few) of Roy Yamaguchi's restaurants - we made advance reservations for Roy's for dinner, and we were pretty excited for the meal. We started off with: +a Hawaii Kai Crab Cake - with spicy sesame beurre blanc +Bigeye Ahi Tostada - with avocado, garlic soy, truffle aioli, and tobiko +Crispy Zucchini - with a cilantro X.O. relish and a 'crown noodle' crispy bao bun; I asked for the relish to be served on the side +a Palala Roll - with crispy shrimp, spicy tuna, avocado, and pepper-yaki sauce +a Shibby Roll - with garlic salmon, spicy ahi, kanpachi, jade pesto, lemon soy, and ikura For our mains, we ordered: +Roy's Classic Trio - with misoyaki butterfish, macadamia nut fresh local catch (mahi mahi), and hibachi grilled salmon +Garlic Parm Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp - with lump crab ravioli and kahuku sea asparagus grenobloise +Slow Braised Honey Mutard Glazed Beef Short Rib - with pommes puree, power natural jus, and lomi tomatoes +Mochi Crunch' Wasabi Horseradish Fork Tender Beef Cheeks - with hauula tomatoes and a leek & shallot natural jus We made some room for dessert, as we wanted to try Roy's Signature Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle, served with raspberry coulis and vanilla bean ice cream. Portions were super generous, so you'll definitely be walking away with a full belly! Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was chic and classy. +friendly service

Yelp
The food at Roy's was delicious, but unfortunately I am taking off stars for the service. We were in a group of 6 people and multiple things were forgotten when asked for and when we ordered bread for the table they only brought 5 pieces after having to wait for 15 minutes for them to bake it so one person in our party had to go without bread yet we were still charged for it. The bussers also could use some help with their service manners. I would return to Roy's as the food was 5 stars, but service was honestly a 1-2 star experience and for a higher class dining experience I expect much better.

Yelp
This has always been our favorite Roy's on island and there is so many reasons why. First off we called it on the way there we were about 30 minutes out didn't make reservations because we have infant and we're unsure if we'll be able to go. Roxy answered the phone a table, and when we arrived we were seated immediately. We requested a vegetarian menu since he's a vegetarian and the prefix menu was so delicious. We immediately ordered the pineapple upside down cake since it's one of our favorite desserts . As always I got the short rib but this time it came with the Hawaii mix and had fish as well came with the potatoes and the cheesy pasta the only complaint would be the fish was pretty dry but other than that amazing . I never got the Mai tai and decided to since it was our anniversary it was also very good .Roxy came to the table and was so kind and we had a great conversation and her hospitality was above the bar.She looked out for us and our waiter was even really friendly and attentive . Roxy is a local girl that knows what she's doing and being that she has been at that location it goes to show why this is our favorite from the food to the service always a must go ! I want to also note we always get Valet parking at the hotel and they do validate .

Yelp
All of the pictures shown were from the 4 course meal for $125. Food was amazing, especially the surf and turf (filet mignon + prawn) and the dessert (chocolate soufflé + vanilla ice cream). A lot of food for the money and quality is insane. Service was solid, and we didn't even need a reservation on a Saturday night - was able to walk in and get seated within 10 mins. Would be good for a nice date night.

Yelp
I went to Roy's for the breakfast buffet as single guest. Service was great. Food was pretty good. Lots of options. I would go again. View of ocean as I was eating was gorgeous.

Yelp
Still the best! Love Roy's in Waikiki. Service is outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful. We haven't been disappointed yet. I posted earlier this week about the Kona location and I think you all could use some lessons from Honolulu. Thanks for restoring my faith.

Yelp
Been wanting to try the Roy's in Hawaii for a while now to see how it compares to the one in LA. I often think about their butterfish that melts in my mouth. Made online reservations and parked where they told us to park ($8 with validation for 4 hours). We were promptly seated. It's super spacious inside. We ordered: Burrata salad: 5/5 nice crispy salad. I really liked the crunchy purple toppings (maybe taro). Crab cakes: 5/5 very tasty! Kids beef short ribs: 4/5 kids liked it. My older one even ate the mash potatoes and she usually never touches mash potatoes! Comes with quesadilla, veggies, salad and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Butterfish: 4/5 it did melt in my mouth but flavor was a tad sweet. Good overall. Mac nut monchong: 4/5 I liked this more than hubby did. He said it was too tough. I liked the crust on the fish. Chocolate soufflé: 4/5 our waiter accidentally smooshed the side when he took off the wrapping and the molten chocolate came oozing out, so he comped the dessert. Thanks! Special occasion pink dessert: yay for spring break! Didn't really like the taste of the pink portion. Overall it was a nice dining experience. Good food and good service.

Yelp
First of all, the food here is excellent. It is excellent every time. No issue with the food. The service, however, was uninspired on the Friday evening that we dined here. It started with the hostesses who do not answer the phone after calling repeatedly to make sure they held our reservation as we recovered from a failed Uber. Those same hostesses barely looked up from their iPad to greet us upon arrival, and could be described as disinterested in the task of greeting anyone standing at the podium. But we were seated after a few minutes and I thought that things would get better. We were greeted by our server, who upon being told of my partner's dining restrictions offered very little when asked for suggestions for appetizers. He was nice enough but barely engaged and did not even ask if we wanted dessert at the end of the meal. The bussers tried to clear our table of clean dishes and utensils before our second round of apps came out. They even took our edamame away before we were done. In spite of it all, because the food was good and the atmosphere was what we were looking for, so we were able to overlook the service issues.

Yelp
Went with the in-laws for mothers day. On the top side by the door, so super convenient since we had our stroller...and it's close to the restroom. And just less people so a lot more quiet and intimate. Our server really nice. Pretty attentive. I guess since there were 2 kids (mine is only like 10 months) they automatically gave them the kids menu. Brought out quesadilla and veggies to start. My baby likes anything, so easy, and then we said we didn't need the main dish or dessert for her. I always like when the restaurants take care of the kids first...and think all Roy's does a good job of that. The service is consistently good at all locations. Food...niece and I shared a sushi roll to start. It was okay. Table had salads, hamachi, escargot to share. I got the pork chop. Good decision on my part. YUM. Gave a piece to the niece, hubs, ate some, and still had leftovers. That white bean puree...OH.MY.GOD. I could just eat that with whatever sauce they had on it all and be happy. So good. So good. So good. Everyone seemed happy with their food except FIL said his pork chop was overcooked. Overall, awesome 1st mother's day...

Yelp
Roy's needs no introduction, really, but we had a good experience-- great service, and they have a good seafood menu. One in our party did the catch of the day, and really liked it. It was her first time trying seafood, and we felt comfortable that Roy's could deliver a good experience for someone wary of it. Our server was really helpful with the menu, and made great suggestions on appetizers. Would come back, especially for a celebration dinner. Just note that while there isn't a dress code per say, this is a more formal place, and I wished we had been more dressed up.

Yelp
Dined in for my friend's birthday. Upon checking in we decided to have the table outside because it's more fun and lively. We were surprised with the menu. They have a lot of options for pescatarians like us and they all sound very good and interesting- made us happy! We wanted to try a lot of them but we couldn't eat that much because we had late lunch that day and weren't very hungry. We ordered Macadamia Nut Crusted Local Catch, Cilantro Chimichurri Local Catch and a sushi roll I couldn't remember the name, but the tofu wrapped the sushi roll and it was crunchy and a lil spicy. Everything was amazing! We ordered Waikiki Mud Pie for dessert and they gave us a free little dessert (tasted like strawberry shortcake) for my friend's birthday. Overall experience is great and we definitely recommend this place :)

Yelp
Roy's Waikīkī offers an unparalleled dining experience that deserves a 5 star rating. From the moment you step in, the casual yet elegant atmosphere sets the stage for a memorable evening. The menu, featuring internationally Influenced, Hawaii inspired cuisine, is a culinary delight. The Filet Mignon and Tiger Shrimp are standout dishes and the complimentary edamame is a delightful touch. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every need is met. The restaurant's location in Waikīkī is convenient and adds to the charm, making it perfect for special occasions or romantic dinners. The option to dine indoors or on the patio provides flexibility, though the indoor decor, with its fine art and wine wall, offers a more luxurious setting. James Beard award-winning chef Roy Yamaguchi creates magical dishes for his restaurants. Executive Chef Jason Ichiki's expertise shines through in bringing Yamaguchi's creations to fruition, making Roy's Waikīkī a must-visit for anyone in Honolulu. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this restaurant promises a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Hawaiian hospitality and cuisine. Valet parking at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk. $8 for 4 hours with validation.

Yelp
This is a regular stop for us when we are in the area. Love the food and we had extra great service from a young lady. I had the butter fish which they are kind of famous for. Portions are not huge, so maybe order an appetizer. Not inexpensive either. However, we rate it a five! Kind of a date night/special occasion place for us.

Yelp
Food is the best! I got the short rib and my daughter got the fish trio! Both dishes were amazing! But the best thing that you have to order is the chocolate lava cake! Of all the places I have ever tried, Roy's does it the best! Service was super fast! I think we got our meal in about 5 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately we only saw our waitress twice, once when we ordered and the second time to give us our check? But the support staff was awesome!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary of being together at this location. The food was amazing and I cannot rave about it enough. Our waitress, Maya, was incredible! She was so helpful in figuring out what to order and she was so attentive to us and ensuring our dinner was fantastic. Truly, without her service we wouldn't have made such fantastic memories. This was also my first time ever at a Roy's. I was so impressed by the aesthetics and the staff. The cook to order design added a level of elegance I've never experienced before ! Thank you so much for such an amazing experience. I hope to be back soon!!

Yelp
My sister and I came here to celebrate our personal professional accomplishments. We had a baby with us and she was a little bit tired and beginning to show her sass. We felt bad since this was a nice restaurant and didn't want to impose on the people around us. While this is typically a two-hour dining experience, they put a little rush on our food (several rolls of sushi, canoe boat appetizer, and pineapple upside down cake). A waiter regularly filled our water and servers were checking up on us to make sure we were satisfied, which we were! Everything was so fresh and delicious. When they brought our dessert, they also brought a guava cheesecake congratulating us.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! The water view and service were amazing. The food though, omg! The rolls especially were so warm and delicious! My fiance loved the beef!

Yelp
If we're being totally honest, our first couple days in Hawaii did not bring us the greatest food. I think that's purely because we did other activities which didn't give us time to try true Hawaiian food since all the good places closed so early. But when my mom gifted us a chance to eat some good food at Roys, our spirits and hope in Oahu's food was finally lifted. Miso yaki butterfish - 5/5 Omg. I had heard about this before and my expectations were completely met. The fish was soft and juicy and tender and that SAUCE. Amazing. Kanpachi Crudo - 5/5 OMG. The butterfish was amazing but this crudo also blew it out of the park. My boyfriend had never tried crudo and absolutely loved it. Canoe Sampler - 4/5 This was such a great way to try more items on the menu. The szechuan belly back ribs and the shrimp sticks were amazing. The spring rolls and the ahi roll weren't bad either, but they just weren't my favorite. Frying Dragon Roll - 4.5/5 This was a great roll. A lot of really great textures and flavor. Caramel Creme Brulee - 4/5 This was pretty good, but I think the deliciousness of the entrees and everything else ordered definitely trumped this. Overall, the service was amazing and the atmosphere and design of the restaurant really spoke to the luxury that you pay for when you go to a Roy's location. This really helped add to our first experience in Hawaii!

Yelp
This place gets super busy so I'd recommend getting a reservation early. A local told us to come here and that we had to order the dragon role and the soufflé. We did and both were my favorites. The soufflé was probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. The waiter told us they are made to order and will take about 25 minutes, so order early. For my meal, I ordered the local catch and my boyfriend got the pre fixe menu ($80) paired with the wine (additional $30). He said they did a great job of pairing the wines with the meal. I ordered the Roy's Signature Hawaiian Martini, which tasted really good. The food, service and ambiance at Roy's are fantastic!! I would definitely love to come back the next time I'm on the island.

Yelp
Everyone knows of Roy's! They are famous! A great place for a celebration with family or friends. Service was exceptional. And food was absolutely out of this world. We ordered the scallops and the garlic shrimp. Yes both were delicious. But let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away by the shrimp dish. The pieces of shrimp were HUGE. Everything was cooked perfectly and this dish came with ravioli as well so was super filling by the end of the meal. My husband loved his scallop dish with noodles as well. Yes I would order both again. But I would most definitely recommend you try their garlic shrimp dish with ravioli. I'm craving it right now as I write this review. Yum!
