Wonderful place. Unassuming from the outside but you get inside and are warmly greeted and seated. The food fresh and came out at a temp consistent with freshly prepared dishes. The pasta was wonderful and you could tell was homemade. Everything was excellent and we will definitely be going back!

We are so happy we found this wonderful hidden gem in Broomall/Newtown Square! We love small independently owned restaurants. We were greeted and seated promptly! Our Caesar salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing was so delicious! Our entrees (Chicken Parmesan & Rigatoni with vodka sauce & chicken) were piping hot and served with homemade pasta made in house! Can’t wait to come back and have another delicious meal! Another plus… BYOB!

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We were lucky we came in when we did because every table was full by the time we left! I had the creamy sausage gnocchi, Caesar-y Brussels, and caprese salad. Everything was top notch! Served with housemade sesame bread. For dessert we shared the creek brûlée donut and basque cheesecake. Everything was fantastic! The housemade pasta is die for. Plus you can bring your own alcohol and they will make cocktails for you for only $5! Highly recommend.

Google
Come for the house made pastas and generous portions. Definitely splash on an order of fried artichokes. Finish the meal off with a creme brulee donut thats torched table side. You might need multiple orders of this one.

Google
The waiter was kind, informative and professional. We each tried different lunch specials. Our meals were very good BUT the dessert was absolute delicious. I think dinner here would be fantastic. I’ll have to come back.

The pasta was so good! I am usually sensitive to carbs and gluten and stuff but I got the rigatoni alla vodka and it was delicious and wasn't hard on my digestion at all. Also very friendly service.

We visited Roz & Rocco's on Wednesday evening and had a delicious experience. Service was good and we did not feel rushed. All of the apps, entrées and desserts were good portion size and we were able to leave with leftovers. I can never get enough of the ricotta and honey with sesame toast, as well as the olive oil cake with blueberry compote. My husband's favorite is the pappardelle alfredo. If you are on the fence, it's definitely worth a try!

Google
This place serves Italian food done right and is in the top restaurants I’ve reviewed. It’s made with love by excellent chefs and when you eat here you’ll feel like part of the family. Everything I had at our private event was incredible (a special shout-out to the chicken cutlet and the homemade al dente pasta), but the normal menus themselves are well balanced and perfectly priced. A wonderful interior and world class staff further elevate the experience and options like take out and delivery work well and are great additions. The owner Christine is also wonderful to work with and absolutely nailed our private event. Overall this is an easy recommendation both in terms of a normal restaurant and for anyone looking for a private event. Can’t wait to be back soon! And to host future events here!

Yelp
Crazy amazing food, like oh my goodness great. My favorite is the chicken alfredo is sublime... The service was perfect...there is nothing that I have not enjoyed... Go go go and you will be so happy... Now I am drooling...

Yelp
Never tried this place before but often visit other businesses in the strip mall. Nice enough inside but the communication is terrible...from server's knowledge of the menu to the way the specials are written. Ordered the Italian Wedge. When I asked the server about the dressing was told Caesar. Salad was supposed to be served with blue cheese crumble although they were not evident. That said it was served with blue cheese dressing... The fried prosciutto vs the bacon was nice but perhaps some crumbled Gorgonzola would have made sense. Ordered the Veal Parm, from the specials menu...asked what came with it ended up getting pasta... no prices on the special menu, so ask. When my veal Parmesan arrived it was made with a veal chop which was completely unexpected...overall ok but not great. My wife had the pasta bolognese which was decent. Decided to look at the dessert menu and decided to try the Crème Burlee Donut...(sounded interesting) it wasn't!! $9 for an old donut that was lite on fire with a blow torch.., save your money... Some people might enjoy the food we really didn't but only our opinion.

Yelp
I ate there yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding. The service impeccable and I love the building and decor. I will definitely come again.

Yelp
Under New Ownership. I have driven by many times and it never looked busy so we decided to give it a try. We picked the wrong night. It was super busy. Waited 15 mins for a table. When finally seated we sat for 15 minutes. Order was taken and it took a long time. Food came out finally and they forgot our appetizer. I had the chicken parmesan it was good but not like normal Italian BYOB's in the area. the portions were smaller. Usually I ahve leftover for Lunch the next day. GF had Lobster Ravioli, she and I did not taste any Lobster. Told the owner he brought her Cheese Ravioli this time. Tasted the same just a different sauce. Dessert was ok I had a Brownie Sindae. Mostly Ice Cream as the Brownie was small as well. I will give them another shot because there are other things on the menu I would like to try. So we will see, hopefully new ownership has worked out the kinks by then. 15 tables take up the room. It is BYOB but pricy.

Yelp
We ate at Roz & Rocco's for the first time a few weeks ago, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, and the service was quick. We especially loved their rigatoni and mushroom soup. I'm happy we finally made the time to try Roz & Rocco's! It's nice to have a new, local place that is reasonably priced and has solid food!

Yelp
This recently changed ownership but for now seems consistent to other experiences. Nice, friendly space in a strip of storefronts. Prime time on a Saturday and parking was available despite a busy parking lot. The calamari appetizer is lightly breaded and crispy without being oily or greasy. Mostly uniform circles with some larger pieces. Very good. The caprese toast, tomato, mozzarella with herbed oil is a good shareable dish. The rigatoni in vodka sauce shined as top notch. Here, pasta is a strong suit and it shows. Sauce is flavorful, served piping hot mixed with the homemade pasta. While I enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca, it was different than what I think of as traditional. No sage sauce or capers but moist chicken with ample prosciutto. Service is attentive and plates come at a nice pace, especially this night when the house was full.

D K.

Yelp
The service was good... food was meh, mostly because the chicken was dry in all the chicken dishes. I am not sure what else I can say.

William J. C.

Yelp
First time here. Excellent food! Friendly service! They are ready for a larger location. Definitely require a reservation on a weekend since we saw walk-ins turned away with lots of apologies. Highly recommend!

Justin F.

Yelp
Been here a few times now. The food is excellent and is very fresh and homemade! We've had chicken marsala, chicken parm, grilled salmon all really tasty. The fried calamari is delicious and so are the Rocco's fries. The service is friendly and polite. They want you to have a nice meal! The interior is also nice and cozy with a variety of booths and tables. I will be returning.

Yelp
What a great find! Family owned and run, the dedication and passion to become a great little restaurant is obvious in every bite. On a trip to the east coast a friend mentioned this NEW, cozy restaurant. I love to support new small businesses. Fantastic food, amazing service! Great place for family dining. I recommend anybody looking for a fun, delicious new spot - check out Roz & Rocco's! I had the chicken parmigiana, and it was fabulous. I really enjoyed the bread, cheese and honey (photoed) I noticed a few said small portions.(?) only in America, lovers of "super sizing" fast food and all you can eat buffets. My order is in photos, perfectly sized for a meal. Who would think this is too small? Please go through the drive thru. Soon this place will be a local favorite.

Yelp
Fabulous food and service Excellent experience Not just your average food They made minor changes to my dish with no problem

Yelp
This unassuming store front in Broomall is serving up filling Italian American comfort dishes. Had the privilege of going here during their Restaurant week which offered a three course lunch meal for $25. It was well worth the value featuring an appetizer, entree and dessert. The meatballs and the ricotta and honey were the two appetizer that came out relatively quick. Both came with ample sized piece of bread. Like any fine Italian American cuisine carbs were a plenty. The bread seemed to have been baked in house and was a running theme during the meal. It had a lightly seeded crust, but was crisp and dense. It may have contain a lil oil or butter which only added to the overall flavor. The mussels and chicken parm were our entrees which paired well when sharing. More bread was provided for dipping the rose colored mussel sauce. The dessert was tasty and plentiful like any good Italian establishment. The olive oil cake was dense, seemingly with a hint of lemon, but also contained some crumbly parts. It was topped with a blue berry sauce. The portion size of the tiramisu unlike any other place I've ever been too. This was a soup bowl sized portion, topped with cocoa powder. Excellent. I almost had to roll myself out of the place as the food was so plentiful. Great portion size for a 3 course meal. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Cappuccino was on point as well.

Nicole D.

Yelp
The owner takes money from the servers. Food is mediocre and he has multiple locations. Stay away ICE should be there soon. Horrible management.

Yelp
Enjoyed an excellent meal at Roz & Rocco's last night. Angel Hair Pomodoro and Penne Vodka. We also enjoyed their signature garlic pull-apart bread. All ingredients are hand made (yes, the pasta). Small, cozy little spot with a huge focus on quality and service.

Yelp
I have learned my lesson and usually don't like to review a place after only going once but Roz & Rocco's was so charming I am going to break my own rule. We felt very welcome from the minute I called to make a reservation until we were walking out the door. The restaurant's decor is welcoming and almost like walking into someone's home. They make the most of their space without overcrowding the restaurant. We were seated immediately with our server telling us the specials and her favorite menu items al while opening our wine. This was so welcome - especially since she was spot on with her recommendations. We started with the ricotta and honey toast which was delicious. The picture was taken after we had eaten 2 pieces of bread. My husband had the lasagna made with homemade pasta while I had the salmon with the beet and arugula side salad. The lasagna was different with the edges of the pasta being crunchy. In this case different was very good!! The salmon was simple and cooked to perfection. The beet and arugula salad was the perfect complement. Dessert was tiramisu. Honestly at this point I was so full I only had a bite so we took it home. I tasted it the next day and it was soooo good. Overall, we had a really pleasant night out. Great service and great food. What else is there?? So Roz and Rocco's - please don't change a thing. Ever. Thank you.

Yelp
We ordered take out on a Sunday night. There was one table filled and they made my wife wait extra 20 minutes for food. After getting home we try the food and it was terrible (chicken parm was over cooked and hard and the meatballs were salty and sauce was more like gravy than Italian) and after a call to the restaurant we are told to contact Slice for refund. Slice tells me I either need to order something different (didn't want anything new at that point) or drop the food back to the restaurant for any refund. So on a Sunday night at 8:00, I had to drive the food back to receive my refund which was such a waste of time. Stay away from this place!!

Yelp
The price does not match the quality. The new owners just don't care enough to hire a good chef. Boring seasoning. The sauces tasted like supermarket canned.

Yelp
Hello, my son and I went To Roz & Rocco's for lunch. The service was excellent and the food was good. The restaurant was clean. Very honest people, as I forgot my credit card and they held it for me. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

Denise S.

Yelp
Roz & Rocco's is a casual BYOB in a small stipe mall in Broomall. When it's busy, parking can be a challenge, but We've dined her 3 different times and have had a great experience every time! The Chicken Parm is delicious and their specials offer a nice variety and have never disappointed! Service is excellent and the waiter is very accommodating! This has become one of our go to spots.

Noelle K.

Yelp
This is definitely a nice little place in Broomall. Don't have to go to main line for a nice restaurant. We shared 2 appetizers. Both needed a bit of salt. The buratta dish was lovely but needed a balsamic glaze, IMO. The lasagna was a lovely surprise. We split this and the chicken parmesan. Great servings and perfect for sharing. Tiramisu was the most authentic and very light and delicious. It was great to share this as well. Definitely coming back!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Nice local Italian restaurant! This is BYOB and they have the option to make mocktails, but we just got the mocktails, which were great. Food was overall tasty, but we did have to add additional pepper to the pasta, which we rarely do. Would recommend having a reservation as the restaurant feels quite quickly.

Tom K.

Yelp
Great and friendly service. Food was excellent! My son loved their meatballs and pasta!

Yelp
Mom and I had a fantastic lunch at this byob today!!! Mom had the$15.00 lunch special - delicious, buttery crab bisque soup and meatball sandwich (she chose without the roll). I had the pear, gorgonzola cheese, pine nut salad with shrimp. The artichoke heart appy is my fav! Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Visiting Philadelphia with my wife and our friend took us here for dinner last night. 10/10 recommended. Our waitress was fantastic - attentive and helpful with menu recommendations. Lively, fun atmosphere, but cozy at the same time. The veal and the chicken Alfredo were incredible!

Anna R.

Yelp
My chicken wrapped with prosciutto, served with eggplant, small tomatoes & asparagus & zucchini. Food was delicious & impeccable service

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience this evening! Excellent food (the Mediterranean style fish special was delightful!), service was attentive and knowledgeable, and parking was easy! Ambience is casual and the restaurant was clean and well appointed. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went for Father's Day . Food was good and hot . I think they're under new ownership. I will definitely try again.

Yelp
Made reservations ahead of time for 6:30, party of 3. Arrived early at 6pm on a Saturday and we were seated right away. Restaurant was warm, cozy and inviting. Food was good, but not great. Waitress did a wonderful job of greeting us and explaining the menu. Some items like the ricotta & honey bread and the meatballs were delicious, other items like the chicken cutlet appetizer and R&R garlic bread were just okay. Cesar salad lacked dressing and the croutons were rock hard. Had the rigatoni; pasta was tough and the dish was over oiled - but I ate every bite. Overall I'd rate the food 6/10. Greeter, wait staff and overall experience 10/10. Would recommend. Will be going back to try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and service. A great combination of nouveau cuisine with "old school" flavors. Love the seasonal special items too. And the BYOB option tops off a great experience. Servers are personable and helpful. And the owners do a great job of visiting with guests. Keep it up Christine!!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I do appreciate the family feel that the staff and owners pride themselves on. Ultimately, based on my first visit (and possibly only), I'd say the details were overlooked. As an Italian food connoisseur (haha), I would say it was average, which is being generous to an extent. For starters, we got R&R Garlic Bread, which I thought was not even remotely garlic bread. It was more of a smoked cheese loaf. Out of the party of 6 we had, more than 3/4 of it went in the trash, sadly. Another couple at our table got sausage & pepper toast. The toast was practically charred to a crisp. For entrees, I got the Rigatoni alla Vodka. It was average. No pasta is bad pasta. It came out piping hot but lacked flavor. The sauce had no flavor. I'd expect something from the plain old red sauce. I was shocked that Vodka Sauce was practically tomato juice. It looked as if there were roasted tomatoes or cheese or herbs in the sauce, but it just was not there flavor-wise. I also got a side Caesar salad which was very good aside from the stale croutons. I know croutons are usually made with leftover bread but come on, you can't just throw stale bread in there and think it's okay to do so. My partner ordered the chicken parm. She seemed to enjoy it somewhat. She did mention the sauce didn't have flavor (pre-us talking about our meal) and that her chicken and its coating seemed processed/wet or something to that extent. My mom ordered simply grilled shrimp with piccata and a side of potatoes--$ 18. Aside from highway robbery, the shrimp came out cold, and the potatoes were delicious. I believe one of the owners sensed some disappointment from our party and offered a complimentary dish of cookies which were KILLER! So so good. I feel that their cookies are their cash cow. For what it's worth, I asked for red pepper flakes and cheese shakers for my meal, they ran out of shakers (unsure how that's possible), but they did bring us little cups of cheese and pepper flakes. Details details details. These are all things that can be fixed in no time. Hopefully, these are all kinks that are being worked out.

Laura W.

Yelp
We were regulars here and sad to have owners move away. Very unhappy the Vodka sauce is changed , way too much tomato in it!!! WHY change !!!!???

Rick C.

Yelp
A night to remember!!!!! OMG!!! The food, the atmosphere, the music were amazing. The vinegar peppers and burrata cheese appetizer was awesome, multiple entrees ( Rigatoni in a Vodka sauce, the Alfredo sauce the salmon and Risotto) all were spectacular. Then the dessert..... the tiramisu was the best ever. Bring your own bottle of wine and you will have a night you will never forget.

Angela C.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great stuff about Roz and Rocco's. Especially, Christine. She was such an awesome person to communicate with. I am not much of a party planner but she made it so easy and stress free to plan a surprise birthday party for my husband. She even made me a menu card for the party. The food, the service and atmosphere was phenomenal. The servers were very attentive. They made sure all the guests had drinks. All the guests were raving about the food. Who doesn't love home made pasta?! We had an extensive menu, it was serve family style. Most of the guests had to get take away boxes because it was a good amount of food serve. Even the coffee/ latte serve was high quality. I love a place that have good coffee. Please give this hidden gem a try. I will be back with my family very soon.

Tamra G.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to return to this restaurant after eating there a year ago. I am sad to say that I returned today, for a special lunch for Valentine's Day. While the service was very good, I noticed something was different. The menu was the same, with several additional specials, but the food was quite different than my memory served. The pictures on the walls were the same, music was great, but the awesome artichoke appetizer I had a year ago wasn't the same. The garlic cheesy bread was similar, but different and the special lobster ravioli were hard, tasteless and swimming in an overbearing, over oregano'd, vodka sauce. At the end of the meal we discovered an inconspicuous business card on the table indicating that the restaurant was under new ownership since September 2023. Hummm, quite the surprise! While I wish the new owner well, the chef is trying, but I find it odd that the new restaurant owner bought the name and menu of what was a gem, instead of just doing their own new name, new menu and starting new. Fool me once, won't return.

Tanya U.

Yelp
We had a large party luncheon after a memorial service. Everyone was impressed by the food, and we all took plenty of it home as well. The service was great, and they were attentive and nice and fair with their pricing as a large number of our party were kids. I would recommend this restaurant, and I hope to be able to come back for just a regular meal!
google avatar

Eileen G.

Yelp
Just tried this new restaurant and you need to put it in your list to go and eat. The food was amazing and Ella, our server, was great! A definite starter was the ricotta and honey toast and beet salad. We had the rigatoni ala vodka, and lasagna roll-ups and for dessert the olive oil cake with the blueberry compote. Everything came out quickly yet never felt rushed. Food was delicious and we will be back to try more of the menu. Please come out and support this great local restaurant in Broomall.

Mrs C.

Yelp
Now that they have been opened for a while, we decided to give it another shot, but we left dinner still unimpressed. Kids ordered pasta & butter, and it was literally dripping. Total grease feast. We ordered garlic bread, which was also super greasy. The bread could have been great, but they went overboard on the oil. Our meals came out 5-10 minutes after the kids were finished eating. My chicken & side salad were good, as was the accompanying sauce. My husband ordered a burger and thought it was terrible....but shame on him for ordering a burger from an Italian restaurant. He swears it was a freezer patty and not homemade. It looked good, at least. It was supposed to come with house made pickles, which sounded great, but they were MIA. It did not come with fries or chips, nor was their an option to add any. Drinks were still tasty, but they have scaled back the size--one drink is one drink. We got 2 per drink the last time. Not sure why our entrees took 30+ minutes. The place was empty, and the guys in the kitchen didn't seem stressed. I really really want to like it here, but we're just not crazy about it. They looked pretty busy as we were leaving so maybe it's just us!

Lorraine M.

Yelp
Very disappointed! Party of 2. Ordered eggplant parm and veal parm. Both were overly breaded. Neither were freshly fried and the breading was soggy despite being topped with a minimal amount of gravy. Eggplant was burned on the bottom and when the waitress was informed she said it was to the oven too long. The side of pasta had barely enough gravy to taste. On a positive note, the artichoke was very good.
google avatar

Jon B.

Yelp
I really hate giving a restaurant such a low rating, particularly when it's new. Hopefully the management will take this as constructive criticism. We ordered lunch for pickup. I arrived early so it would not be sitting there waiting for me. I only live 5 minutes away. The order was ready shortly after I arrived. We ordered 2 meatball sandwiches, a beet panzanella salad, and pan fried artichokes. The good news - the artichokes were delicious. The bad news - the sandwiches were plain awful. The meatballs were actually cold. How does that happen when I got them as soon as they were finished. And, instead of red sauce as every other restaurant would do, they loaded it with pesto instead. The salad had no resemblance to a panzanella salad. They should change the name of the salad. The whole meal was so disappointing that I don't think we'll give it a second chance.
google avatar

Scot G.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood gem. The owners are absolutely delightful. The staff is attentive. The food is incredible. Zucchini, chips, Parmesan dishes, pasta, dishes are all very tasty. The red sauces are marvelous. Save room for cake for dessert. This is definitely a place to keep visiting. The ambience is very friendly. The napkins are like kitchen towels to remind you of grandmom's cooking.
google avatar

Lemmonhead B.

Yelp
An incredible byob Italian restaurant within walking distance??? Keep walking. I wanted this place to succeed. It seems all Broomallians do after reading the reviews, but their chef is terribly under skilled. My Bronzino was raw in the middle, pasta is extremely Al dente, sauces lack seasoning, no anchovies in the Caesar dressing, the charred bread is ok, salmon portion is tiny, bolognese sauce taste frozen or canned, and the booth seats are too low. We tried this place twice. First time was underwhelming, this second time was sad. Like the Mediterranean restaurant that was here a few months ago. What will be next?

Mary C.

Yelp
Aw man. I really hope our visits were an exception, but we have been disappointed since this place went under new ownership. My husband barely had any lobster in his ravioli, the artichokes had several tough pieces, Marsala sauce was too sweet, and it took 15 mins just to have someone come to say hi and fill our water glasses. Overall experience since new owners is around a 2.5 or 3 at most, especially given the prices.

Julia B.

Yelp
We really really wanted to like it! We went for dinner one evening and found the food incredibly bland. We couldn't even taste any garlic in the garlic-cheese bread! Quite atypical for an Italian restaurant. The only dish we liked was the pasta with vodka sauce but the portion was so small it wasn't worth the price (we calculated a dollar per noodle). Since we so badly wanted to like it we decided to try again, this time the brunch. Again, nothing had any flavor. I was also surprised that one pancake was $13. We're pretty disappointed because Broomall really needs a restaurant like this and we were looking forward to it opening. But unfortunately it fell short and we won't be going back.
google avatar

Livingston K.

Yelp
So I really want to like this place. The owners have put a lot of love into it dedicating it to their loved ones. The personal touches are so sweet! They are kind and have the best intentions. However... I've been for brunch and tonight for dinner. Both times the food comes out cold and I'm not sure why. Both times it wasn't overly crowded so Not sure if they don't have heat lamps but food was definitely cold. The 'ala cart for a side to your 29.00 under cooked medium rare steak was disappointing. Additional $7.00 bland mashed potatoes, and honestly the portions aren't huge so why don't they just include a side ?!I asked for salt and pepper, and everyone at the table quickly asked for it after I was done. Chicken parm would have been good but literally was cold and I felt guilty asking them To heat it up. Those that ordered salmon enjoyed it but again for the price the portion was small and a side was an additional 7.00 which for my husband was a side salad. The non alcoholic mixed drink was nice but our sweet waitress kept apologizing saying she was making them wrong and providing the wrong glasses and rims. We provided the alcohol. I will recommend the olive oil cake with berries ! I hope they work out the kinks for sure!

Mike A.

Yelp
Place sucks. Horrible food. Small portions. High prices. Cannot find spice rack. Desserts like the Tiramisu tasted old like it sat in the same bowl for days and the Marscapone they used tasted disgusting.

Lindsay W.

Yelp
Obsessed and too embarrassed to disclose how many times I have been here over the last few weeks. My defense is that I'm trying to stamp my food passport with everything on this delicious menu. Casual atmosphere (no restrictions on elastic! LOL), VERY CLEAN, and the nicest owners and staff. Shout out to Christine (Owner) - you're incredible for bringing this wonderful restaurant to Delco, thank you for staying local!. I'm making my way thru the dinner menu but including pics of the Vinegar Peppers & Buratta (the peppers are to die for), R&R Garlic Bread (holy crap!), Crispy Artichokes (the batter = Heaven), Caesar-y Brussel Sprouts (I would argue the best around), and ... the Angel Hair Pomodoro (other than my Mom's, this is the best I've ever had out). The obsession is real - may / may not have had this a few nights in a row b/c I was craving it so bad. THIS is real Italian. I have good memories of making Italian food at all hours of the night with friends and family - roasting peppers and making spaghetti by hand. And going to Roz and Rocco's, it feels like home. Only good vibes here, a family atmosphere and a love for food. Planning dinners out here has literally gotten me thru a few hard work weeks. "Let food be thy medicine and medicine by thy food." Breakfast too!!

Yelp
Nice decor and great owners. Tried this place for the first time and I was not impressed with the food. It tasted bland and did not excite me at all. Not sure I would even call it Italian food. Aside from the food, it was pretty noisy. Unbearable....I could not even hear or understand what my wife was saying right across from me . With that alone, I am sure I will not return. I do feel like I missed out on dessert! It looked like a nice big bowel of tiramisu. That's it. It's great the owners are getting a lot of support from the community and friends as I sensed for being a brand new business. I just wish one could have been honest with them about the food.

Michael A.

Yelp
I've written a couple novels ("Sonny's Vendetta" and "Sonny's Revenge") about a South Philly Italian family who own and operate a restaurant, so trust me. I know a thing or two about restaurants and Italian food. In the books, there are references to how to tell if an Italian joint is good or not, and one of those barometers is to order the meatballs. Some places have very generic meatballs - rubbery, or dry or otherwise disappointing (where you only taste bread and filler instead of meat). Roz & Rocco's are, in a word, FAN-F'ing-TASTIC. They're that good. They're meaty and flavorful and the accompanying gravy is perfect - LITERALLY perfect. I'd go there just to eat their meatballs. Seriously. But no sane person would stop there. My wife and I ate the meatballs. We ate the chicken strips. We ate the crispy shrimp (fried in a light and delicious tempura batter). We ate the Caesar-y brussels sprouts which were freaking wonderful. I love brussels sprouts anyway, but this was an interesting and wonderful take on them. We also had the tuna toast, which is simple, light and wonderful. We would have eaten more, but would've needed another stomach or two to do so. The portions are generous. Everything we saw emerge from the kitchen looked equally terrific, but we were too stuffed to taste it all ... this time. Take it from a chubby local who knows his way around good Italian food. Get here, and do it soon before you have to wait months to get a reservation. Oh, and the owners are a young couple who are hands-on, and working the floor, like every good family-owned Italian restaurant SHOULD be operated. We'll be back, but next time with friends ... and then family.

Have been for dinner and for brunch & every time I leave so happy and full. The food is so delicious and it is the most hip place in the area! Some of my favorites are the honey ricotta toast, the meatballs, caesary brussel sprouts and the baked eggs. The wait staff is so attentive and friendly, I will definitely be going back!
