Nice historical place, with a beautiful view of the surroundings. Ticket prices are 400 LEK for adults and 200 LEK for children. There are parking possibilities at the bottom of the mountain for 200 LEK. There is a museum in the castle + 200 LEK, but it worth to visit. Recommended.

Great views from the top to Shkoder and the lake, must see. No card accepted, but take euro (4 per adult, children free). No queues. It closes down at 7 pm! Parking is tricky, there are lots of private parking operators that will lure you in, just ignore. There is parking right at the gate, but it is usually busy. I could find some slot along the road and parked for free. The castle is large, many yards, various viewing points, so book at least an hour to walk around. There is a cafe and toilets. Also, you can visit a small museum (2 EUR).

Really cool castle, you can climb to the top of some towers or go into some dark chambers, there’s also a cafe in one of the yards which also sells ice cream. Park in the higher up parking, if you have kids with you, they all cost 2€. A few souvenir shops along the way and several toilets (paid I assume).

If you are near, it is definitely worth it, a complete de-tour would be a bit too much. The castle has a pretty interesting legend/myth and there are a few information signs here and there. The little restaurant inside is a bit expensive compared to a local restaurant in Shkodër. Although we only went there for a drink after the walk to the castle in 36°C

Great place to view the city of Shkoder and surrounding areas. Great views of the lakes and mountains. Park by the castle if you can. It’s free. Nominal fee to get into the castle. Well worth it but be careful of unfenced deep holes!

Interesting ruins of the castle. Extansive area but be careful if you are there with children. There are no safety such as chains, barriers or cover for pits and wells. But there are beautiful views. On the upper, third yard there is a café with excellent coffee and a museum. What it's pity, that in many areas such as the wells there is a lot of garbage. Parking is possible under the castle. Don't worry man who call you to his parking. It's the first parking. You can also drive by car higher. And then less walking uphill. Parking 2 euros for day. Entry to castle is 4 euros for person. Only cash, but can you pay in € One star less for the mentioned garbage. It's not only from tourists, but also from locals, which can be seen in the towns or on the beaches. It's a pity for Albania or Montenegro, because these countries are the most beautiful

This is exactly the case when I noticed that the reviews and pictures did not match reality. I was convinced that everyone should draw their own conclusions and have their own impressions. I think it's a very beautiful and atmospheric place. We were at sunset. First of all, there is almost no one else. Secondly, the stunning view and soft light for photos!!

This review is just a few tips, as we didn't get to the castle itself. Someone mentioned in previous reviews that despite having an earlier closing time, they were able to purchase tickets just before 21:00. This wasn't so for us, as a few minutes after 19:00 they were already closed. Do get there before closing time. The views from the gate area are great, so from the castle itself they should be stunning. Also. There are multiple parking lots along the way up, often seeming official. They're not. They're just private lots. There is actually a free official parking lot just in front of the gate. Also, if it's full, cars do park just along the road. A lady at a parking lot of about 3 min walk from the gate (which to us seemed to be the last lot before the castle itself, but turned out to not be) happily took out 2 euros a few minutes after 19:00, without ever mentioning that the castle is already closed.
