Google
I booked Ruby Marie Hotel Vienna for my parents and they absolutely loved their stay. The interior design is modern, stylish, and very welcoming, creating a really pleasant atmosphere from the moment you enter the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high-quality ingredients, and the location is perfect, well connected and ideal for exploring Vienna. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. Special thanks to Ivan for his kindness, helpfulness, and smooth communication, everything was perfectly arranged thanks to him. Highly recommended, and I would definitely choose this hotel again, both for my parents and myself.

The hotel was overall decent and in a great location, however our experience was let down significantly by poor customer service and housekeeping. Our room was not cleaned at all during the four days we stayed, including basic essentials such as toilet rolls. When we asked for more, we were handed them in the café area rather than having them brought to our room. The room temperature was also extremely uncomfortable, as there was no way to adjust it, even when showers were not being used. Unfortunately, customer service was the biggest disappointment. A staff member named Serj was rude, patronising, and condescending from the start. We initially believed breakfast was included in our booking (which we later found out it wasn’t), but the issue wasn’t the misunderstanding — it was the way he spoke to us. His comment about the difference between breakfast being “available” and “included” was delivered in a very dismissive and unpleasant manner. We also asked if crisps were available at the bar. He said yes, but when we asked what flavours were available, his response was, “You get what you’re given — there’s no option, it’s free,” which was said rudely. When we later asked for another bowl of crisps, he threw the bowl onto the bar and slammed the fridge door, which was completely unacceptable behaviour in a customer-facing role. The one young lad we interacted with was helpful, welcoming, and lovely, and he deserves recognition. ( unfortunately we didn’t get his name ) It’s a shame, as the location is excellent, but the lack of room servicing, uncomfortable room temperature, and the poor attitude from Serj really took away from our stay.

We were very pleased with the hotel; it was very clean. Even though we didn't ask, our rooms were cleaned, and everything was truly spotless. We loved the cocktails at the bar, especially Hubert and Sanna, who were very attentive to us even though we didn't speak good English. They tried to chat with us, even if it was just a little. On our last night, we spent the evening at the hotel bar, not outside, just because of their company. Thank you all, I will definitely choose this hotel for my next vacation. Best regards.

Google
It was a wonderful stay here. The hotel itself looks very cosy and friendly. And the location is excellent, near the main transport lines and the main street of shopping. Staff is friendly, cleaning is good, rooms are exactly what you need with a good noise cancellation. We didn't take breakfast, but coffee here is very good as well for a small price (compared with coffee shops in Vienna around the center). Luggage room is secure, unlike others hotels you can't just go to the room, it is closed and staff will take and bring the luggage. We would definitely visit the hotel again. Loved it

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Bianca and the entire team were incredibly friendly and helpful, making everything even better. The rooms were excellent, super clean, with very comfortable beds. The location couldn’t be better, surrounded by great shops and restaurants and just a short walk from the train station. Breakfast was delicious, and we especially loved the private cinema inside the hotel. Such a cozy and unique touch, showing classic movies every day. There’s also a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy drinks outdoors. The perfect place to relax after a day exploring the city. Truly a fantastic experience from start to finish! 🍸🌇✨

My stay at Ruby Marie Hotel was absolutely incredible! From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. A massive thank you to Tuvchin, Bogdan, Hubert, Noah, and Serj. Each one of them made my experience unforgettable.Their kindness, professionalism, and positive energy created such a warm atmosphere that made me feel at home. Every detail, from the service to the conversations, was simply perfect. I’ve stayed in many places before, but Ruby Marie truly stands out because of its amazing team. I can’t wait to return — thank you all for making my stay so special! Regards Alex, room 518 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Just wanted to praise this hotel for helping me out in a pickle. I left some important documents behind and they immediately contacted me to tell they were safe and then promptly helped get them back to me despite me still traveling. So, in addition to great rooms and quiet yet very handy location (seriously right next door to all the major transit lines), they provided the kind of service that we hope for in a hotel.

Yelp
I wish I could write about the comfort of the beds or the quality of the amenities, but unfortunately, I never got the chance. Midway through my stay, I experienced a devastating personal tragedy -- a death in my immediate family. In the midst of overwhelming grief and the need to urgently return home, I was told by the staff that everything would be taken care of. At the time was nice to know and allowed me to focus on getting home. I contacted Capital One Travel with whom I booked through, and they told me the hotel refused to refund the remaining two nights, and they are bound by "hotel policies". I contacted the hotel via email, hoping for understanding and compassion. Instead, it has been a week and I've yet to hear from them besides the email receipt for reimbursement of my prepaid breakfasts. At the time of checking out, I was informed multiple times by Ruby Marie's staff members that I would be reimbursed. Now, I've been met with silence. I understand that businesses have rules, but exceptional circumstances call for exceptional humanity. It's disheartening to see a hospitality business fail so miserably at being hospitable. Ruby Marie's stance has left me feeling unheard and unvalued as a customer. I wasn't asking for special treatment -- just basic human decency. If you're looking for a place that treats guests like people instead of transaction numbers and revenue generators, I recommend you look elsewhere. You never know when life might take an unexpected turn, and it's clear this hotel won't offer you an ounce of grace when it does.

Yelp
My visit is now a few months back and I want to preface my review by mentioning that I used to come here frequently for years and always enjoyed it even though the staff has always been slow and 'new'. The last time I was there however my friend and I had a terrible experience with what seemed to be the 'manager' of the rooftop cafe. At least he claimed he was. My friend and I were having a what we thought was a private conversation but then he offered his unsolicited opinion starting with the refugee situation Ukrainians vs Syrians to how men are supposed to make money and women should stay home and have children to how wrong it is that some kids have two dads. It was a surreal experience... And I will not go back there as long as he is there... No wonder none of the staff stay around that long.

Yelp
I am huge fan of hotels that are breaking the mold and setting new standards for accommodations. The Ruby Marie is just such a property. I want my hotel to be conveniently located, exceptionally clean, comfortable, welcoming and a good value. Ruby Marie is all of that and more. My room (#810) at Ruby Marie was very spacious with a modern decor. It had a large balcony with great views of the city. The breakfast, served in the 24/7 bar and lounge that also includes a large outdoor terrace, was delicious. The cost is not part of the room but is offered for purchase at a discount at the time of booking. Not including breakfast is counter to the traditional model in much of Europe; however, Ruby Marie does it as an option to keep its rates low, which I appreciated. In addition to not including breakfast, Rudy Marie reduces cost by also limiting other services. For example, if you need to iron clothes, you have to use the communal ironing board that fixed to a hallway wall. There is limited staff and they do multiple jobs (i.e. reception desk attendant, bell hop, concierge, waiter, and bartender), which means you will sometimes have a little wait for service. Overall, I liked the concept but it may not be right for travelers who like hotels with lots of amenities and services.

Yelp
Very easy checkin and checkout process (there is no checkout!), the room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. Super convenient location as well, I believe there is a train stop right outside but also underground and overground stations within 2 blocks! Very helpful staff as well, only recommendation would be to leave the hotel for breakfast - the offering at the hotel isn't great and there are so many other tasty options so close by.

Yelp
Amazing room and even better staff. I needed a doctor urgently and they helped out and had one sent to my room in an hour. It was a stressful situation but they made it so much easier.

Yelp
This hotel makes going back to the hotel fun. The decor is modern and uplifting. Musicians and music lovers will fall in love immediately with the fact that you can borrow a guitar (I'm serious) from the lobby and play it, with an amp, in your room. They also have a bar, cafe, movie theatre (playing a variety of comedies so far), yoga and roof top lounge. It feels close to being at a modern resort! Plus it's in a central area for sightseeing, right across the street from a billiards and has free wifi.

Yelp
This is a moderately priced hotel in a good location in Vienna Positive: Clean room, comfortable bed. Awesome roof top terrace that is a bar at night and serves breakfast in the morning. Negative: Only shower, no bath, no free bottle water in room, no refrigerator in room.

Yelp
For a fun, hip and different hotel experience, try the Ruby Marie hotel. This very creative boutique hotel concept is comfortable and definitely entertaining. It was built inside of an old department store. Everywhere you look, you will discover something that will make you pounder and smile. The check-in counter is located on the 5th floor and is entirely self serve. It consists of little screens where you check yourself in and the disposable room key cards are dispensed like candies in a candy machine. The helpful and friendly staff is within reach if you need help or have questions. The bar is the center of attention and is located right across the check-in counter. Behind it, you will find a relaxing wooden terrace filled with colorful garden/beach furniture such as fatboys, tables, chairs, crates, etc. The cocktails and drinks are also creative and oh so good! Weather and time permitting, you can go crash on any of the fatboys and relax for as long as you want, in the sun or shade. The way to your room will be filled with fun and funny messages and sayings written on walls, elevators, doors and props. Then you enter your rooms and the hotel tradition continues. In the center of your room is a glass shower (yes be sure not to share a room with somebody you are not comfortable with because they will see you shower). Your heavenly bed is wrapped and sealed like a gift with a red silky ribbon. Your night stand is a huge Marshall speaker which you are free to use with either your own music playing device or you can borrow an electric guitar from the lobby area and have a blast in your room! Your room also has a tablet, a flat screen TV, a safe, and many different quality toiletries, family style sizes! And I must say that it was pretty clean as well. Breakfast was included and entirely organic and of high quality. It consisted of a good variety of different items, something for every taste and all of it super healthy. You will not find any nasty greasy food here! If you are into tea, your head will spin when you see the variety offered. And all so delicious (and organic). Our floor had a 'library' room and "board" room which were as fun as the rest of the hotel, as well as an ironing board station and a rather interesting vending machine. Let your imagination flow ;-) This hotel is located in a busy shopping area near the west train station (5 minutes walk) and about a 30 minutes walk from the museum district and center of Vienna. The only drawback I can highlight is that the area that it is in is not the safest and can be quite scary at night. Watch for your bags and wallet when you exit the hotel! But once you are inside the hotel, you are in a bubble and you forget about all the scary and weird people you saw nearby. Enjoy!

Yelp
Ruby Marie is a cool concept for a hotel. I love the idea that you check yourself in. It's fast and effortless. They have a 24 hour bar with food too! Yay! The rooms are decorated very modern/minimalist and is clean with plenty of space for your luggage and such. The bathroom is huge with a really nice shower! They even have a nice amp looking speaker that you can use with the tablet they provide you with for use during your stay or your own phone/music device. You can even borrow a guitar from the lobby and take it to your room and plug it into the amp. There is also a phone looking thing that you can take around the city with you to use for GPS if your phone won't work. They really have thought of everything. They offer free tea and space to unwind. Oh, and I can't forget about the yoga studio for your use too! Vending machines on a couple different floors with snacks, drinks, and toiletry things you may have forgotten. This hotel is super dope! I loved the vibes all around. We did not try the breakfast but lots of people did every morning so it must be pretty good! When you check out (which is basically when you leave and stash the key in a tray on the front counter) you can ask them to hold your bags for you if you still need some time to venture about the city. Parking is very close and not overly expensive for Vienna parking. I highly recommend that you park in a Park and Ride garage and take the train back into the center of the city. It will save you loads of $!

Yelp
SOOOOOO cool...or not. As an experienced traveler, I find this place silly. You arrive at ground level and go to the fifth floor, but wait, there's no reception desk. It's just a table with built in check-in stations. You don't need to have human contact at all! The bar area looked inviting, but we needed to get into our room. Unfortunately, the room the computer assigned us hadn't been cleaned. We returned to the "reception" area, where the human in the bar area was able to fix and "upgrade" our room. Here you can also borrow an electric guitar to take to your room to play. God help your neighbor. The new room was fine, except for the European shower that opens to the sleeping area, unless you close the curtain. Don't worry the water from the shower will go onto the outside floor no matter what you do. The bed is made up sideways, so you have to deconstruct it in order for the blankets to be used. When you leave the room you are reminded that the halls are painted black...again, so COOL! At night, don't leave your window open, because you can hear everything going on in the city...drunks, police, traffic, and construction. Did I mention there is no refrigerator in the room? Why would we need one when there's a MAXIBAR? In other words, there's a vending machine on the floor. Other conveniences include a yoga room and a movie room. The bar is inviting, as I mentioned, but very pricey. We stayed at another hotel a few blocks away at the beginning of our trip that was far better. If you are SUPER EDGY, stay here. Otherwise, try any other hotel that's not trying so hard.

Yelp
I am all for new, spacious, clean, friendly and relatively quiet roof top bars for a nice girls night out! Not an easy task in this city! This place is a great location to sit and chat for awhile. Be aware that the terrace closes around 10pm but there is plenty of space inside to continue the party! Happy hour is from 5-8 and drink prices are on point. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Looks very intimidating when you walk by it but it has a great antmosphere when you are inside. I went there with friends and we had live music. The prices are a little steep but overall I had a very good time.

Yelp
Really nice, modern place. With 24/hr check in and no check out needed, I was really happy with my stay. The bar was great, location even better, and overall a great time.

Yelp
Great location for this modern, hip place. A little too Spartan and too cool for me. But it is friendly enough, very informal, and seems to have a clientele of all ages, and life styles. It feels like a hostel, but acts more like a hotel. The rooms are rather smallish and not well ventilated, even with the window open. The sink area is really small as well. But it is clean, safe, and a great location on MariahilferStrasse, near all the action, trams, subways and buses.

Andy O.

Yelp
I always enjoy my time here. It's usually pretty quiet (although there is music at low volume - and not quite as low in the evening) and relatively empty. Which is probably why nobody cares if you sit there for hours even if you don't consume much, unlike at e.g. Cafe Jelinek. Hell, the bar tenders and waiters are usually even very warm and friendly. Their homemade ice tea and lemonades are always a delight. The seating is very comfortable and the interior design great. The only downside may be the state of the bathroom - I'm not sure. Because at least on the men's room, the floor has a suspicious yellow tint. But I've been coming here now and then ever since the bar first opened and I think it has always been like that. So maybe they merely made a bad choice when it comes to tiles? Or the color of the lighting? But aside from, the bathroom usually does seem clean, so I don't think it would be appropriate to reduce my rating just because of that.

Yelp
I was really excited to come here because it looks beautiful on the photos, but I was just told that breakfast is for hotel guests only in the weekend. What a turn-off.

Laurie M.

Yelp
This hotel is very dark and impersonal. A bit ominous. The most redeeming part is that the rooms are bright and spacious, the bed is very comfortable with high quality bedding, and a very nice shower. The most unfortunate part about the shower, and staying here was that the hot water was out of order and we had to take cold showers for two days. Not quite what I expect from a 4 1/2 star hotel. In addition, there was no one to call about this situation. Not a single human being to call because the phone numbers for the hotel that are on Yelp and Google are not working numbers, and there is no phone inside the room which connects to any hotel employee. In fact, it was a stretch to find a hotel employee other than a bar tender or waitress inside the bar. I will not be staying there again anytime soon.
