TL;DR:
Beautiful, cozy, high-tech hotel in a very walkable location. The design is modern with a slightly industrial feel that adds to the overall aesthetic, and the rooms are quiet and comfortable. While one front desk interaction was unpleasant, the rest of the staff — especially the bar team (Shoutout to Tasco, Lillia, and Lorenzo) — were warm and helpful, and the experience overall was excellent. Great amenities, thoughtful shared spaces, and lots of small details that make the stay enjoyable, especially if you’re comfortable with a more minimalist, European-style setup. I will book here again.
Tips
- Card slot at the door powers everything in the room — don’t forget to insert your key card when you enter.
- The duvet will be split in two. Tuck one into the other for full coverage.
-Bring an adapter if you’re traveling internationally; everything requires the right plug type but if you don’t there’s a hardware store right around the corner.
- No fridge or microwave in the room, but you can ask for your food to be reheated at the bar. You can also get ice, water, or drinks from the bar and take it to your room.
- Drink voucher option: You can skip daily housekeeping in exchange for a drink voucher — just make sure you ask for it directly if it isn’t offered.
- Pantry areas, with refreshments and vending machines, can be found on even-numbered floors
- Be ready for some attitude at check-in, depending on who you get — but also know that some staff (like the male attendant and bar team) were incredibly friendly and helpful.
General
I checked into this hotel, and it’s gorgeous and well-situated. Very cozy with lots of seating areas — including a bar that doubles as the front desk and a lovely library-style side room near the elevators with plush chairs and books — kind of like a day room — and it’s super cute. Everything feels really high-tech and elite. The lobby and bar area also have great spaces to sit and relax. Within walking distance, there are lots of restaurants, museums, and exhibits with the Temple Bar area being about an 8 minute walk from here (across the bridge).
The room is beautifully deconstructed — there’s no in-room iron, microwave, or fridge — and it has a slightly industrial feel. That said, it’s immaculately decorated, with floor-to-ceiling windows and thoughtful design details throughout. It’s also impressively soundproof, which made a big difference for rest and comfort. At the door, there’s a card slot that powers everything in the room — good to know because I didn’t realize that at first. The room doesn’t have a fridge, microwave, or coffee/tea bar (you can get those at the pantries) but it does have a nice TV and really beautiful recessed lighting. The duvet set up was definitely a surprise when I dropped into bed and tried to cover myself - so be prepared for that.
Service
After traveling for 15 hours and unable to sleep during my flights, I landed six hours ahead of check-in time (which I know is very early). The young lady who checked me in was not very welcoming, in fact, I almost felt like I was an inconvenience to her. Most places at least try to accommodate or offer to check if a room is ready. She didn’t even smile at me.
Outside of one very rude front desk attendant, everyone else I interacted with was helpful, welcoming, and kind. Her attitude didn’t dampen the rest of my stay, and overall, the rest of the staff played a big part in making the experience enjoyable. One of the staff members made me the best coffee I had during my stay — it was genuinely amazing. After that, every time I went downstairs I found myself looking for him again, but I never caught him. Still thinking about that coffee.
I cannot wait to return and book my stay here again!
