Love the cute fun atmosphere but the toast was cold and the lattes we got were mostly just milk. The breakfast sandwich was good, but I was very disappointed in the lattes that did not taste like they had any espresso in them.

Went for the first time last week. Quick service and a great bagel. My wife got a coffee drink which she enjoyed. Its right on the beach beside the pier.

So good I had to come back the next day for more! Over the course of a couple visits I had the breakfast sandwich, an iced and hot chai latte, lavender lemonade, and cinnamon roll. All were absolutely delicious and well priced. Can’t wait to come back!

Cute shop with great location on the pier, and polite staff. We had the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches which were great. Coffee was lacking flavor from the syrups though. The actual coffee was decent and not too sweet. We had the almond joy and coco doodle, but there was barely any coconut flavor in the drink.

Staff is always friendly, service is quick, and even when it’s busy, everything moves smoothly. The bacon, egg, and cheese croissant is phenomenal, and the coffee never disappoints. Great vibe inside, and even better outside—perfect for a walk on the pier with your drink. I come here every time I’m in OKI, often more than once per trip.

We have been here for a week and have eaten here everyday and enjoyed it each time! Our last day on our way home we decided to stop again and grab a quick breakfast and some coffees. We did our pickup order as we have every morning prior and went in to stand and wait at the pickup sign. Our last few mornings have been so pleasant with the customer service but this morning there was a blonde girl wearing a hat and blue shirt with white jeans and she was so incredibly rude. She asked me and my friend “are you staring because I’m pretty or do you need something?” And I said “no we have a pickup order” and she responded “so are you just going to stand there or are you going to tell someone”. Considering we have never had to tell anyone, we just come to the pickup spot and wait for our order, this was so nasty of her to act like that. If that has been our first time here we wouldn’t have come back. If you’re reading this, no you’re not pretty, pretty girls don’t act like that. Do better. Food is great and the other girls were so sweet but this one really ruined it for us.

Breakfast was very good. Although the place is small , you can eat on a bench on the pier and enjoy the view! Food was very good. Id like to see some home fries or potatoes , hash browns as a side .

This place is cool. We have already made return visits here and we will definitely be back. The employees are really nice and helpful. They keep customers moving through with a smile. Our orders have all been correct. Our drinks have all been delicious. The vibe here fits with the beachfront location. They have murals on the walls featuring tropical vegetation. It feels like "happy vacation" was the theme. The place is clean. They have a 97.5 sanitation grade. They have a limited food menu. They sell honey, T-shirts, and some other merchandise items. You should definitely check this little spot out!

Super cute cafe right on beach connected to the fishing pier and Koko Canbano restaurant. It's an aqua building. There's a parking lot but I am sure it can get busy. You can also access this from the beach! Super convenient. They do have indoor seating available. Super cute decor. The menu offers coffees, teas, lattes, etc (typical coffee shop drinks), as well as good options such as bagels, toasts, French toast, etc. There's also specialty drinks they create. Ordered raspberry white chocolate latte (yum) and an Americano. The Americano wasn't very strong, but was good. Great location and good drinks and good options. They even sell merchandise. Lovely local cafe to support.

Tried the cutest coffee shop in Oak Island. Right on the beach and serving up the best coffee. Perfect way to start the day before starting your beach day. You can also take your drink and food on the pier and watch the water.

Snicker's Latte! I don't think one can find something like this up here in the north east. Rich and light at the same time. Truly refreshing in the suffocating humidity facing us here in Oak Island. Wait was long enough to walk the furry pets but not too long for their discomfort. A popular Cafe among locals and vacationers alike. My kids came back here couple more times during our visit.

The actual shop is really cute & the employees are really nice. However I wasn't impressed with the food or drinks. My husband and I both got matchas that weren't the best & the egg & cheese sandwich was pretty bland.

A new favorite coffee shop for me! Rubys is a hidden gem on the pier right behind koko cabana. I had the white chocolate raspberry latte and it was seriously the best coffee I've ever had! Met the owner as well who was super sweet and thanked us for coming in.

Beautiful cafe right by the pier. The staff were cheery and friendly even when the line got out the door. Drink and food were quick and delicious!

We are so excited to be back at Oak Island and one of the reasons is so we can visit Ruby's in the mornings. Our first morning here did not disappoint. We had two delicious lattes and breakfast bagel sandwiches.

Great experience! There is a parking lot with 2 hour free parking. They had tables inside but not many. They have an extensive coffee menu and lots of food! The food and coffee were both so good. They also have pastries that were amazing, not too sweet at all. I also thought the prices were very reasonable!!! I would return.

Great spot right on the pier. It's a small space, busy with activity but the staff is kind and quick. Iced coffees are great, also the egg and cheese sandwich and the granola croissant!

Their open faced croissant with goat cheese and blueberries is to die for. I would eat this every day if I could. And it's so affordable!

Small coffee shop located on the pier at Oak Island. Nice selection of both hot and cold drinks. Merchandise selection to choose from as well. I had a vanilla latte. Once I got out on the pier and tried I realized immediately it was lacking vanilla so I took it back inside. The issue was remedied and the drink then tasted amazing.

Absolutely loved this place! The location is unmatched; you can walk here on the beach and eat on the beach. The food and drinks are amazing! Love the amount of options and it seems everything my group of 4 got was excellent. The workers are very kind and helpful!

Tiny little coffee shop with a little bit of seating. Food was pretty good, but I think they are more geared towards their drinks.

Great coffee and food. Staff was friendly, and being right on the waterfront was a real plus. We really enjoyed our visit.

The coffee was a little weak and the cinnamon roll a little hard on the outside. However the bacon egg and cheese everything bagel was SO delish. The coffee shop is adorable with plants and cute decor! The food was ready in a short amount of time.

They had me at Lavender Vanilla latte! Ruby's is the cutest little coffee shop located right by the pier on Oak Island. They have some really unique coffee drinks as well as tea and local homemade pastries. I did see several people ordering breakfast sandwiches that looked great including toast, bagels, croissants, etc. The overall vibe is right up my alley with lots of bright light, colors and plants filling the space. We did have to wait in a pretty long line for about 30 minutes on a Saturday morning over Labor Day weekend, which is to be expected. Grab a coffee and stroll the pier while you sip! I truly can't think of a better morning at the beach.

Ruby's is a super cute coffee shop right on the waterfront by Oak Island Pier. We stopped in to grab a quick coffee before taking a walk down the pier and on the beach. We got a Honey Vanilla Latte and a Caramel Macchiato, both iced. They were good, but nothing remarkable. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable for both the food and drinks, we didn't try any food but we will next time!

The best beach breakfast! Fresh hot bagel sandwiches & excellent lattes. I loved that they had tons of syrups & more than one sugar free option. The SF mocha was great! My husband got the pb latte & loved it.

What a great little "hole in the wall". This place is AWESOME. Friendly Staff. Cute setting. Right on the Ocean (can't see it but they are on the backside of a building that is on the ocean). We were in Oak Island for a week and came here 3 times I believe. Coffee is great with a lot of options for every level of coffee consumer. They offer local items for purchase as well as their food and coffee. We actually stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town. I had a great Everything Bagel breakfast sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food and coffee that day. A great place to grab a coffee and then walk the beach. We were there in November (Thanksgiving week) so it was perfect to grab a coffee and stroll the beach. It is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Just know that it is attached to the same building as KoKo Cabana and a Supply store selling fishing supplies and such. You won't regret stopping.

Asked for a blt on a croissant got it on multi grain bread, Flavor was mid. Coffee and refreshers straight fire.

We stopped in here after walking on the pier!! Cute little place! Had the Turmeric Latte and the husband had a regular latte! My daughter had the cinnamon bun. It was a clean place with friendly service. The lattes were great the cinnamon bun was ok it was a bit dry. I will still come back and try their items on the menu!

Great little place with a very limited food menu on the Oak Island pier. I had the bagel club sandwich and it was quite tasty. My companion enjoyed her bagel BLT. Parking is a hassle (the "new" OKI parking restrictions) but Ruby's will give you a voucher to cover one hour of parking on OKI. I did not try a coffee, but their latte menu was very comprehensive. Maybe next time!

Obsessed with the pistachio coconut iced latte! Highly recommend. So many independent coffee shops make their coffee too sweet or too black, but this was the perfect in between. So many options and varieties! Breakfast sandwiches were straight fwd and tasty. We typically like to switch up our spots during trips to OKI, but this is a must-return!

Fine coffee if you are looking for a stop along the beach. Super clean, has a bathroom and friendly staff, some fun drinks and cute sayings/merchandise to peruse. Even I felt a little old to be there, as I felt the target demographic is more younger kids that will populate the beach in the summer time. This place will for sure be a hit come summer. Their menu has fun drinks (coffee, lattes, tea and others) along with some sweet goods. Definitely worth a try!

The food is okay. The lattes taste a bit like sweet milk instead of actual espresso. It could be better. I think they do a better job during the off season when not so buy. It's a very cute coffee shop, just a little disappointing depending on when you go.

This place is cute! My husband and I stopped in to grab breakfast to go. I ordered a bacon, egg + cheese sandwich on a croissant with a chai and my husband ordered the goat cheese toast with a latte. The service, food and morning beverages were all great! Ruby's is worth checking out if you are visiting Oak Island.

Cute little place right next to the ocean! I had a carmel macchiato and a light, fresh and tasty sandwich made with a bagel!

Lined out the door on a beautiful Sunday morning. I ordered the everything bagel with a smear of cream cheese, bacon, egg and Swiss (because they were out of cheeses) with a chai latte. My husband had the sausage, egg and cheese croissant with OJ. Delicious. Some smart folks at out on the pier. We went for a walk after we ate. The staff were extremely friendly.

Cute coffee shop, okay coffee, service wasn't too friendly but if you are looking to have a coffee on the beach then this is the place.

Ruby's is a godsend for your beach walk. Great, great coffee drinks, and excellent breakfast sandwiches. Order and walk out and find a bench on the town pier - wonderful! We go there often. It is a fun excuse to take an early morning walk and splurge. Oh Ruby, why can you be open all of the time? We'll take what we can get :-)

The coffee was just ok and the breakfast sandwich looked and tasted like something I could get from McDonalds. Really disappointed.

Good quick service. The breakfast sandwiches were good as was the iced wellness latte. I didn't have the coffee, but no doubt it is likely good too.

been coming to Oak all of my life and this was my first time trying Ruby's! great experience and even better location. i ordered the avocado toast and rubys iced coffee, to die for!

With most places closed, we decided to give this place a try, smart choice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Apparently the biscuits and gravy is not a daily offering but if it is available, recommend. Great selection of coffee and the staff can provide assistant if your not sure.

love this place i come here all the time. super cute and good prices. the employees are super sweet too. only complaint i have is yall don't be seasoning the avocado toast enough. a little more salt won't kill you.

This place was an awesome stopBefore walking on the pier. They were definitely children friendly and made custom drinks for our boys. The two employees working were kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I got a matcha latte it was a little heavy on the maple syrup but was quite tasty. We also got the iced dirty chai that was with hemp milk and was the perfect afternoon pier drink. Super cute inside

This appears to be a tourist trap in the Summertime based on what I observed this morning. At 9.00am this place was busy with a steady stream of customers. The menu is simple and prices are reasonable. The dining area is very small with uncomfortable seating. I ordered a bacon & egg bagel and mocha latte and the food tasted good. We brought our legitimate Service Dog with us and was immediately told by an ignorant female employee that my dog couldn't be inside despite the fact he was wearing his jacket so I had to school her on federal law! With so many other eateries to choose from, we won't be back.

I have been here twice- one at 6:30 am, the staff was a little stiff, i brushed it off as it was so early and we are all just waking up, and my coffee was good! The second was in the middle of the day, staff was still stiff with me and my coffee comes out 3/4 full w a frappe lid no cream was added not that i wanted any but was so odd. as a small town coffee shop both times have felt very awkward even walking in.. but if you don't mind atmosphere the coffee is pretty good:)

A disaster of a train wreck. 3 bagels took literally 1 hour to complete. Some incompetent 20-something employees who do not know how to operate a cash register or make a bagel correctly or efficiently. Cashier needed simple menu items repeated several times in order to comprehend them. When the small order was finally completed, the bagels were mediocre/had the flavor of paper, chocolate milk had very little chocolate syrup in it. Go to Island Jo instead. I hope they replace some of these employees with people who have at least an elementary school education. What a nightmare.
