15 Best Breakfasts in Sydney | Condé Nast Traveler

"Organic, health-conscious, and globally influenced dining is the order of the day at Ruby’s, where dishes like coconut brown rice pudding with mango, bee pollen, and mint is a common order. For something more substantial, order the coconut chile eggs, a combination of scrambled eggs with split pea curry sauce, coconut, green chile, and coriander sambal served with roti bread. Alternatively, indulge with a Ruby’s Bla-Taco, a mash-up of scrambled eggs, tomato, bacon, avocado, coriander, and baby spinach on blue corn tacos." - Sophie Davies

I had a soy latte and the scrambled tofu for breakfast, which was the only vegan breakfast option (I think) on the menu. It was a good portion and flavour. The latte came in a glass which looked pretty but was very impractical to drink from. The main negative was the atmosphere - it is by a busy road and is open to the road. The stools and tables are next to the pavement with no barrier, so don't expect a calm relaxing breakfast. It would be good for a filling bite if you don't mind about the noisy road.

Very creative menu. Had the Cinnamon French toast with a poached egg which was absolutely delicious and generous in size. Coffee was very good too. Service was ok, not overly warm but not unfriendly. Stool only seating so need to be aware of that.

Delicious food and fast friendly service! Loved the Pina Colada smoothie and the iced latte! The Tuga Pastries were top notch too! Would definitely recommend!

Ruby's Diner was an average experience. We came in and sat ourselves down. We were then greeted by a staff member and given menus and asked if we were ready to order. At that stage we weren't. After quite some time we were ready to order but no one came past our table to check in. The diner wasn't busy and they seemed to have an adequate number of staff. We tried calling out to the waitress several times. Eventually she came. The food was of a decent portion and price. I love having the option of a sweet breakfast but the menu didn't seem to have this. The current menu is quite egg heavy. The food was average tasting, neither great nor bad.

Superb experience with friendly service and great dishes. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too and valid for these times... Plenty of outdoor/open seating. Also, their shakes are (as they have been for over q decade) some of the best you'll get at any Sydney cafe

Great food and coffee, open airy and lovely, with two large communal tables too. Friendly waitstaff and chefs who clearly take pride in make fun yummy dishes. The chilli coconut eggs is a breakfast joy and the roti bread an absolute must. A very healthy menu, with some interesting options. Consistently great food and coffees.
