Ruby's Hotel

Great value! You can't beat the price. If you're looking for a 5 star resort, you may need to look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a hotel that's right on the beach, close enough to town to walk, but not so close that the noise keeps you up at night with a bed (or two), hot water, WiFi, fans, and private bathroom, then Ruby's is the place for you! When we visit San Pedro we spend so much time exploring and being active outdoors that we're hardly ever in our room except to shower and sleep. We don't like to spend money on a super fancy resort when all we need are the basics. Ruby's is perfect for us. We can't wait to stay there again next time!

This is a low budget hotel so dont go there expecting the world. If you just want a relatively clean room and bed to crash in and keep your belongings safe at the lowest price then this fits the bill. If you want more than that then I suggest you look elsewhere. I got 2 rooms for 2 nights for myself and 2 cousins and paid $120 US total for both nights. We are 3 guys - thats all we needed and we didnt complain. The room wasnt why we went to San Pedro :-) . Bonus is it is right on the beach.

Perfect location & amazing price. I went many years ago & paid $50 per night for a private 2nd story room with A/C & a balcony facing the water. There are some semi-private rooms there that are more geared towards backpackers with fans (no A/C) & I think maybe shared bathrooms as well. If you're wanting luxury accommodations, then this is not the place for you. There are no tv's & the wifi can be a bit spotty, but they always have ice cold beer available at the little building out back & sold it for $1 (which is cheaper than anywhere else). They were always extremely friendly & very helpful with suggestions. If I visit again, I will definitely stay there. Also...ALWAYS do some research before traveling to any foreign country. I read about the local laws, insects, crime, etc., and am glad I did. Belize has kissing bugs (which cause Chagas Disease) and Botflies (which attach their eggs to mosquitoes & when the mosquito lands on you, the Botfly egg senses your bodies heat & burrows into your skin). Definitely bring good mosquito repellent!!!

Ruby's is a very laid back and casual place to stay with a bit of kitsch. The sheets may not match, the tools have some wear on them, but everything is immaculately clean. The staff is friendly, professional and well informed, it is right on the beach! The only place we stay in San Pedro.

This is a place you should enjoy for what it is: a laid-back wooden building with a lot of public terraces on every floor overlooking the sea. Its located right in the centre of town. Yes, it is a bit run down, but still ok and not too expensive. Only downside: wooden buildings are very noisy.

Very nice location directly on sea. Close to ferry terminal and centrum. Staff very friendly. Clean and good room for the money. Change the name Hotel Coastal Bay.

Clean, wonderful, excellent, friendly, polite and very positive people. Very low cost and right on the beach. If you're ok with very modest accommodations this is the place.

Very basic accommodations, but a great location. Nice roof-top patio for upstairs units.
