"Ruchi, a humble dive on the cusp of the World Trade Center site, on the other hand, goes for a maximalist approach, offering more than sixty main courses, an attempt at encyclopedic deliciousness from across the subcontinent." - Nicolas Niarchos

This is a marvelous find downtown. The lunch special pricing of 50% off of the main rices can't be beat. The food is authentic and taste great. The restaurant is a bit cramped during peak hours which makes it easy to trip over other diners. Worth a visit for good Indian food at lunch.

The place is very small but okay! Always busy and serve fast. Employees are nice and smart. It’s a great place for the location , we went their to have some desi foods. We ordered biriyani , price is kinda high , but the amount is very less, and the bottom of the biriyani was burned . And they put too much Masala in it , didn’t have the flavor of Biriyani. Wasn’t pleased with the food , otherwise it’s a great place for the location.

TL;DR: GROSS!! There was hair in the food. Less than one star. Full story: me and my wife went to the restaurant on the weekend. We ordered the Thali for 2. I see that there was hair in the curry half way through the dish. The stuff was like let me replace it. My wife picks up the spoon that was served in the plate the meal came with. There was another hair in her plate too. The staff was like oh let me see and she took the spoon. After her review she says it’s not hair just some strand from clothing. We ordered the check and wanted to get out as soon as possible. She gave us 15% off of the total amount. As we are leaving she asks if we want to take anything. I said no. She should have been able to read the room that we weren’t comfortable with the unclean food they served to us. We just wanted to pay and get out. The worst part is the reaction like nothing happened. I don’t know how they stay open like this. Word to the owner: just clean your dishes. Make your staff wear head gear like hair nets. Just improve the general code for cleanliness it is good for both you and the customers.

Quality was very bad. Expensive with no quality and quantity. I would surely not recommend this Indian restaurant if you're looking for Indian food near world trade center. Staff was ok but food I don't have words to describe quality..looked like idli ordered was prepared while ago and was reheated multiple times. Please don't even try this restaurant even if you are very hungry and need Indian food to eat

Some great Indian food right near Wall Street, super yummy and filling we had to take some home! Best butter chicken I’ve had in a long time, and the entrees had some bite to them! Will definitely be back on my next trip to NYC.

That is the worst indian food I’ve ever had. The chicken is very dry, it was not cooked in the sauce. A person that made the cheese naan, probably has never seen a cheese naan before. Very bad experience, I spent $30 on a meal and I can’t eat it. I’m very disappointed.

This afternoon I had the most delicious lunch at Ruchi, I passed Ruchi many times on the was to work and finally decided to try it. The chicken was moist and juicy, the tikka masala ssice was out of this world and my salad was very fresh. I will definitely be back there soon!!

A poorly maintained place with tasteless food and implicit charges Visited this place on March 2 - and the ambience is not at all Indian, it’s like a Moroccan theme with wannabe Indian backdrops The food is stale and tasteless. We had ordered paneer pakora and surprisingly it was cooked within 2 mins - that is, it was stale and just re-fried and served; naturally the taste was out of this world Then came paneer kadai - which did not defer from previous dish - tasteless, Indian dishes have good taste of different spices - and this kadai was very pale in that comparison. The chapatis we ordered with this were harder than stale tandoor rotis! Overall - a no-no to visit this one!
