Rucksack Hotel

We left the hotel an hour ago but the feeling Piia and her breakfast left me with will stay and I will hold it close forever

Wonderful little hostel with a homely feel and a wonderfully eccentric and friendly host! Location is excellent close into town or across the river to a brilliant open water swimming spot. Pia was extraordinarily helpful, kind and accomodating- thank you for the stay :)

Immense amounts of hospitality from the host. Truly a heartwarming experience and service. The rooms are slightly cold at night and the showers are low pressure but did the job for the stay. The host is very kind and full of stories about other musicians.

Piia, the owner, is simply a wonderful person. Always in for a chat and full of stories to tell. The place is lovely and clean. Location is great, close to the canal and to the city center. I met great people during my solo travel and I wish I stayed more. I will definitely go back!

Lovely little homely building. Got myself a nice private room with a very comfy bed. Piia was a very caring and helpful hostess. Loved the atmosphere as well, but some darker curtains in the private room would be nice for sleeping in.

As backpacking seniors, my wife and I appreciated the private room on the ground floor. Quiet and comfortable, if a bit small. We particularly enjoyed talking with Piia, the owner and hostess. We hope to return next year.

I had a simply great time there but I was already aware that, as the "RUCKSACK Hotel", it is more of a hostel than a conventional hotel: the well appointed kitchen being ideal for self service (which is why I feel I could not give more than three stars for "Restaurant"). I found Piia, the propietor, was very warm and welcoming and gave me some great advice as to where to visit while in the city. The facilities, while slightly basic, were clean and more than adequate for those of us with a preference for friendly, low cost accomodation. You are also more likely to meet interesting and companionable fellow guests is such places. This was certainly the case in the Rucksack Hotel.

We were very happy to accidentally stumble upon the Rucksack Hotel. The owner Piia is friendly and welcoming, and has made a lovely space for relaxing. She has a fantastic humour and is very accomodating. We felt like we were at home as we fell asleep. The street it is on has an interesting mix of arty shops, and the hotel itself is over a nice vefetarian restaurant, We would like to return to Lubeck just to be able to spend longer at the Rucksack.
