The food tastes good. We got to eat fresh and delicious fish. The chocolate cake was a bit hard. But the best thing is the lake view. If anyone comes to eat, I recommend sitting outside the building.

The view here is absolutely stunning — definitely the highlight of the experience. Whether you’re eating or drinking on the terrace, you’re treated to a breathtaking panorama that’s perfect for photos and relaxing. However, the food itself was just average. The menu had a decent selection, but the flavors didn’t quite match the quality of the scenery. It’s a great spot for a drink or light bite while enjoying the view, but if you’re coming mainly for the food, you might leave a bit underwhelmed.

We ordered goulash and fish with 2 coffees I would say something were missing in goulash, maybe a little bit of spice but overall was great, excellent, delicious meat Excellent coffee The best was fish, don't let high price false you this fish is worth any money Restaurant have beautiful view

We visited this place yesterday and had two goulash dishes and two cappuccinos. The food itself was delicious—no complaints there. However, we were shocked to find that the final bill was much higher than expected. After reviewing our budget, we realized we had been charged more than what we actually ordered. It seems they may have added an excessive tip—or possibly charged for something we didn’t ask for—without any explanation. As Asian tourists, we couldn’t help but feel we were taken advantage of, assuming we wouldn’t notice. It was disappointing and left a bad impression despite the great food. To be honest, we even wondered if they overcharged us precisely because this was a tourist viewpoint—knowing we wouldn’t be coming back anyway. Please double-check your bill before paying. Tourists, be cautious.

We went there on a Monday afternoon. I’m not sure if this is a thing here in Austria but the service was rude at first but then they warmed to us. You will have to look for a table yourself or ask someone to share since many reserved places and staff weren’t helpful in finding you an empty table. The food was ok nothing special but the view was amazing. One of the staff was really rude and weird since we didn’t open the umbrella completely like it had one turn left and he was making fun of us or something I still don’t get the whole situation. Again I think all restaurants and people there aren’t warming up to tourist fast or specific type of tourist but I’d recommend the place for coffee and dessert instead of a meal.

Located at the top of the funicular station just before largest salt mines. Perfect stopover. Food is good, service is brilliant but view from the top is awesome. Pretty large restaurant with a private dining option for a large group. Not very expensive for being at the top of a mountain. Drinks are pretty decent priced too. Recommended for a stop over either for food or just nibbles with drinks. Overall Hallstatt itself is a must visit in Austria.

Its tough to get a table here but worth the wait. We happened to get lucky in only a couple minutes but others were aggressively hovering to get tables and there was no line system. The staff is very busy but our server was hilarious and the food was good. Obviously the views are amazing too!

Google
It's easy to dismiss the service as dismal when you come in and don't get attended to immediately, but if you consider how stressful it could be with a lot of tourists and be a bit more patient it's actually not so bad. Of course it's still not a 5 star treatment but food is pretty decent and prices expectedly a bit higher due to location but not too exaggerated. Would definitely come back again given the chance.

Yelp
This is the restaurant on top of Hallstatt. You get to eat some delicious fish, tastes some wonderful local wine, while enjoy the gorgeous view. Service was super efficient and the servers speak good English. Price is not bad, given this is such a touristy spot. Be aware, it's difficult to find seating outside cause everyone wants to sit by the view. And no reservations. So you will just have to wait for tables to become available. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Not sure who I'm really leaving this review for since Yelp isn't really a thing in Austria and this place is already behind a ticket pay-wall for the salt mine, but just to document my experience my fiancé and I had a great time here. Yes, the prices are for sure going to be a few dollars more pricy than normal, but Jesus christ just look beyond the railing and you'll see exactly why that is. Having a turkey schnitzel with some of the best potato salad I've ever had while drinking a nice hefeweizen & looking out into the alpine landscape has to be one of my favorite vacation experiences ever, and I found the food quality to be pretty damn good.

Yelp
Avoid this place if you want food. We had know idea going to the village was super close once you exit the funicular, walk 10 minutes to Hallstatt Village for restaurants. If you want a cup of coffee/tea then it's worth it to sit outside to enjoy the view. Otherwise this place is way over priced and the service was not pleasant. If you want coffee, order at the bar and pay. Stand there and wait for your drinks. If you want to dine in, go seat yourself. There are more tables upstairs. The same person taking coffee orders at the bar was the same person that took our orders so you can imagine the wait once we were seated. He was the same person that brought out our food. In the end, if you pay cash, then you'll have to pay at the bar because they don't carry change. Or you can pay by credit card on the spot. The menu selection was limited. Austria is all about the schnitzel so we got that with a side of potato salad and cup of cafe melange. The food was okay and knowing that you could get more options for much lower price at the village was killing me.

Yelp
Take my breath away - with a view to give you goosebumps, the mountain vistas and lake below is a sight a camera simply cannot capture. I'm speaking from someone who lives on the flattest part of planet earth -America's Midwest. Just sitting in this restaurant is having your cake and eat it too. Life is Good. Oh yeah, they serve food. Anyway, absolutely love the Greek salad. The schnitzel is freshly fried, crispy served with a touch of jam that gives it complexity - excellent. The roast pork and goulash are a little bland, but who cares? Did I mention the view? Eating at Rudolfsturm Hallstatt forces you to slow down and take in the majesty of it all - otherwise you'd be another rushing tourist taking a picture and a few breaths before moving on. I dare say this is the main event in Hallstatt, not the instagram shot everybody is vying for at the end of town.

Yelp
Food here is just too bland , overpriced ( as expected) . Menu is very limited and only couple of warm dishes /items on the menu for vegetarians. View from here is just breathtaking. I won't recommend it for lunch as food was pretty much without any flavors .

Yelp
Food was fairly bland, and the menu was quite limited. The views were nice, of course.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the story is behind this mountain top restaurant, but the view is absolutely amazing...can't be described in words, just look at the pictures. The food and drink surprisingly aren't overpriced for this touristy spot. €3-4 beers and gespritzers(wine and mineral water) €8 Bratwurst plate...no complaints. Great stop before or after your salt mine tour, or if you're just taking the funicular up.

Yelp
Go here for the views!! It's a perfect spot to go for lunch after visiting the sky walk and salt mine - if you can get a table. It's a view you cannot beat! We loved sitting outside, taking in the breathtaking views while having a beer. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. But it's worth a visit - our lunch was satisfactory and very enjoyable. The staff is attentive but not pushy. A must visit while you are in Hallstatt.

Yelp
Food is decent for a tourists-centric restaurant and it's relatively affordable too. It's a great place to stop, recharge, grab a quick bite or drink and enjoy a breathtaking view. Service was friendly too. I highly recommend taking a break here.

Yelp
If you make the trek to salt mine take time to rest your feet and enjoy the view at a patio table. Splurge for a bottle of wine or espresso w cheesecake. The view makes everything taste fabulous. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Once in a while you find yourself somewhere magical and you ask yourself, "how did I get here?" That's exactly how I felt when I visited Hallstatt. The best views is, of course, from the top. We lucked out on the weather and were able to enjoy lunch at the patio of this wonderful restaurant. We shared an order of their mixed meat and cheese plate, paired with a glass of wine for me, and a beer for the hubby. It was nothing fancy. Service was friendly as can be expected. But the views, the views are everything. Sweeping views of the glass-smooth lake, surrounded by the majestic mountains. It was one of those moments that you'd want to hold on to forever.

Yelp
The view here is worth anything and everything!! The kitchen closed before we got there, (at 4:30PM) so I can't say anything about the food, but my cappuccino was lovely, and it came with a million dollar view!

Yelp
View was amazing and the food was really good as well. Hike up is about an hour and the hike down is about the same. Great place to take a break in the middle. Salt mine tour is pretty neat too.

Yelp
Warm and cozy dining spot near the salt mine and a perfect place to recharge before heading back down the mountain. Ordered the schnitzel, goulash and roasted pork and all were very good. Desserts looked tasty but we didn't order. Too full from the heavy lunch!

Yelp
. This restaurant is truly awful. I am Korean and I visited this place with other American friends, and we ended up being discriminated and getting food and the check very late especially compared to other people who came to the restaurant later than us. The most horrible part is when I was leaving, the workers including a guy whose position seemed to be pretty high said 'xie xie' to me. They can misunderstand me for Chinese, and it's fine but then they started to laugh and talk to themselves, and it sounded very discriminative and i felt like they definitely were making fun of me. So I slammed the door saying "this is very annoying", but then the guy came up to the door and raised his middle finger. What a nice manager or owner ever! If you want to try how tasty discriminative service they provide with people is, you shouldn't miss out on this restaurant when you're in Hallstatt. Otherwise, don't go to this place, or you will mess up your trip for a whole day.

Yelp
Had been to the salt mine years ago and can not recommend it. This time went up just for the view and decided to have an early dinner. We shared an order of the whole trout which came with potatoes and salad and added a side of potato salad. The trout was perhaps the best we have had and we have fallen in love with Austrian potato salad.

Yelp
This was the worst service experience I have ever had in a restaurant anywhere. The service was very slow, and the waitress was rude when we asked to order after waiting for 20 minutes, and was rude when we asked for the check after a similar wait. On top of that, one of the waiters felt compelled to make a casually racist remark to my Korean friend as we left, and then flipped him off. I honestly can't comprehend what we did to earn this treatment, but I would never give this place business again, especially given the price. The food was pretty good though.

Yelp
Try the apple strudel with vanilla sauce. The best dessert I have ever had!!! The view is incredible as well.
