Best Italian restaurant in Oslo! We’ve come here 3 times in 6 days) It’s a restaurant where no little detail left without attention. Crispy white table cloths, fresh flowers, candles, and dress code of the waiters. The food is very, very tasty and unbelievable quality. There’s an extensive wine list and waiters are very educated and can help you to pick the best one. The service is incredible. The owner of the place is always there, helping the waiters and noticing everything that goes around the restaurant. It’s a must visit place. However, do book in advance, they are always completely booked and full! No wonders! 😊

The service was good. Very nice and kind waiter. The food was ok, literally OK. Very expensive for how average it was. The capresse was tasteless. The ravioli were good. The Coda rospo was… meh. And the cheese cake was ok, full of chocolate even though it was not listed as ingredient on the menu. I would NOT come back and do NOT recommend it. Its just expensive and not even so nice.

Google
Excellent quality of food, and the service was amazing. Hard to find this kind of service in Oslo but here I felt in a true Italian restaurant.

If you want to know if a Italian restaurant is good. Start with their olive oil. This place is great all over. Try the carpaccio- truffle Ravioli - mushroom rosetto.

Google
Fantastic Italian food, everything was excellent and there was lots more on the menu I wanted to try! A bit of a walk outside the centre but worth the trip

Dining at Ruffino was an absolute delight and a true pleasure! From the fresh Caprese salad to the creamy risotto, and especially the seafood spaghetti, everything was superb. I absolutely fell in love with the spaghetti, and a special mention to Mario, the waiter, who made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this Italian gem in Oslo!

Perfect! Amazing! The food, the service, the atmosphere. This is the place! I would come back time and time again. Perfectly cooked seafood pasta, great wine, and the friendliest staff. Alessandro made our night, best service ever.

Yelp
Great service and food! The owner kindly seated us, even though we didn't have a reservation. Also offered us a lot of tips on places to see in Oslo. Great experience!

Yelp
Pretty solid Italian food considering we're in Oslo and the restaurant ambiance was quite nice. Ruffino's food tasted as good as their restaurant looked. I split the bruschetta with my friend and boy was it delicious - the tomatoes tasted extremely fresh and the crunch of the toast was amazing. I opted for the risotto and it definitely was one of the better ones I've tasted. There was a ton of flavor packed into the broth and it was creamy enough, but not too overwhelming. I would just say that the there just was a bit too much cheese for me, but it did not deduct from the overall experience. The service was exceptional and quick, totally would recommend!

Yelp
Excellent Italian food in a very pleasant atmosphere. We had a couple of pasta dishes that were top notch. Service is also excellent.

Yelp
Exquisite food, service and location as well, out of mass fray and serving a slice of Italy in Oslo. It's restaurants like this that make Oslo a truly international city when sitting eating here you could literally be anywhere in the world that understands the quality of fine dining and Italian. There's absolutely not a single thing I can say against this location it was truly superb dining and friendly location across from the park as well.

Yelp
I really want to give this place five stars, and hopefully will be able to next time I visit. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Oslo. There are NO pizzas on the menu, but fish, meats, and pasta. I ordered pappardelle with a tomato/duck sauce and my company ordered agnolotti filled with duck and a creamy Parmesan sauce. We got some freshly baked rolls with a selection of oils while we waited, and they were very good, tasted kinda like ciabattas. The oils were also good, especially the olive/garlic oils. The main courses were also very good. I got plenty of food on my plate with plenty of perfectly cooked pasta and plenty of sauce with lots of duck. I couldn't finish my meal, which almost never happens! My company's Parmesan sauce was divine, but she didn't get so much food on her plate as I. The staff is very friendly, but sadly after we got our food no one came to ask how our food was. I also found a small bone in my food.

Yelp
I ate here twice while in Oslo. I had a great lamb dish with gluten-free spaghetti. Our young waitress was personable and attentive-a pleasure to have her serving us. In sum, it's worth every penny.

Yelp
I ordered the Ravioli ripieni di ricotta, mascarpone e tartufo and the gelato for dessert. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the service was even better. They took a last minute reservation for 8 from us less than an hour before they were closing. And although they had a condensed menu for Independence Day, they still provided items not on the menu (salads, and gluten free items). Not only did they not rush us, the whole family introduced themselves and chatted with us throughout the meal, offering suggestions for things for us to try while in Norway. We received hugs and felt like part of the family by the time we left.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere. The first thing that hits you when you go through the door is the lovely smell of Italian food. We were quickly shown our seats and got a menu fast. No pizza but lots of pasta. I chose agnolotti with duck in a creamy parmesan sauce. It tasted lovely but it wasn't a lot of food. I left hungry unfortunately, which is why no 5 stars from me.

Yelp
Came here on a birthday, been hungry for food Italian, speak, not pizza in Oslo for sometime. We both got a "three course", and mine went exactly as planned. Reminded me of the regular Italian places my family frequents in the states- pretty consistent, more authentic then cheesy, and homey. Mozz basil tomato starter had really good mozz. Tomatoes ok considering tomatoes are usually pretty bad in this city. Mussels starters really nice, as my seafood continuation of the Al mare pasta mains. Totally stuffed by dessert but I cleaned everything up which was a sign. Good service with English speaking Italian waiter. Recommend for a special night out on Monday when all the other higher end places (and I mean ALL) are closed.

Yelp
Apparently Ruffino is known to be one of Oslo's best and most authentic Italian restaurants, and although the food and service is good, the restaurant is unfortunately no favorite of mine, but I will still recommend it! I came here on an after work date on a Wednesday and the place was quite busy but not completely full. Our waiter was quick to give us menus and guided us through the wine menu although I was not quite satisfied with the wine he recommended to our food. The food itself however was delicious. I had the gnocchi, and it was just the perfect amount. It was fresh and tasty, but I have also realized that gnocchi is probably one of the more boring items on their menu. The menu has plenty of freshly made pasta dishes and an intriguing fish menu. Ruffino is the prfect date spot, or a place to bring the in-laws for some good Italian food.

Yelp
Never disappointed, I highly recommend the tortellis Service is very good and informative.

Yelp
Most filling meal ever. The food was as kick-ass and the presentation of it. Beautiful quiet building, and exceptional service. Absolutely would recommend!

Yelp
Last year we experienced an amazing dining adventurr this year however while it had some good parts was a bit disappointing. Great staff, fun atmosphere but several food items fell short. The greeting experience is always memorable. Very personable and engaged. We got to our table and we were flooded with folks looking after us. Awesome. Good recommendations and guidance from our waiter were appreciated. I love the choices of olive oil to blend with the balsamic vinegar for bread dipping. The basket of rolls though was not great. The buns were a little chewy (stale?) and didn't add to the dining experience despite the great spicy olive oil dip. For the mains we tried the pheasant in gorgonzola stuffed edwith a devlishblend of asparagus and bacon. The other dish was ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta. The first bite of the pheasant was dry and chewy (end piece). The centre pieces were a bit better, I really enjoyed the sauce. Great flavour. The dish comes with a side of mashed and a medley of vegetables. Unfortunately the veggies were cool as was the mash. They were replaced immediately and the second attempt was fine, but for a $298kr dish I would think they would get it right the first time. on the other hand the pasta was cooked perfectly in the ravioli. The filling was very flavourful and the sauce was disgustingly good and rich. The presentation was a bit lacking with one cherry tomato and a sprig of parsley. I get it, Norway is expensive, but I thought 75kr for a bottle of 'still' water is pushing it a bit. Not a show stopper but water should not have the same mark-up as wine. At the end of the day we were thinking a 3.5 and with everything considered, we felt rounding down was more appropriate.

Yelp
I arrived in Norway about three weeks ago and my colleague took me to Ruffino Ristorante Italiano and the experience was excellent all around, the food, the service and the atmosphere. The owner and host made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. His son provided great service that almost matched the service delivered by his wonderful daughter Vanessa. After three weeks of dining a different and generally very good restaurants in Oslo and Trondheim I returned to Ruffino because it was the best.

Debbie M.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant in June 2016. Vanessa was our waitress and she was terrific!! The food here was absolutely outstanding!! The pasta was light and airy and the sauce/gravy was just perfect. We were having trouble deciding so without even telling us Vanessa split our portions so we could taste each other's. One of the mains looked so good she got it for us as a starter. This place was as good if not better than place we have eaten in Italy. Who knew we would have great Italian food in Oslo? Prego!!

Yelp
Good service and good food for a fair price. Good Italian wine selection. Will visit again shorty.

Yelp
Fabulous meal. Service was friendly and informative. Mozzarella in caprese was amazing. Cheese and meat platter so good. Pasta fresh and tasty. Monkfish unusual presentations but oh so good. Quiet, elegant atmosphere. We are from US, so will not be able to come back, but would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent pasta dishes. The starting bread was good too. Desserts were yummy. Extensive wine list, a bit pricey but worth it if you love wine.

Yelp
Great experience. There was delicious fresh bread to start with then I ordered the meat and cheese appetizer which was also very good. For the main course I had the lasagna which was amazing. Also the wines were great as well. I arrived at 4:45-5ish to avoid the dinner crowd but it seemed like for a fri day and Saturday night you need a reservation.
