The first time I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, it was so flavorful and delicious. The second time, I asked for the hottest they had since I didn't feel like the first one was spicy, but it was flavorful for sure. This time, the second Nashville hot chicken sandwich, being their spiciest, was dry and tasted sweet to me. The third time, I asked my husband to order me a Nashville hot in their second to last spiciest. It was so flavorful and moist. Such delicious goodness just like the first time I had it. Everything in the sandwich worked so well. I got a hint of spiciness after every few bites, which is just what I like. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich that was simply county. He is also a fan of their fully loaded fries. He's been happy with his sandwich the three times he's ordered it. The ambience is chill and mellow. Their customer service is good. I recommend you give this spot a try.

If you want HOT FRESH food Everytime no matter what this is your place to go! We don't eat fast food often but when we do this is our go to place! Be prepared for a couple mins in drive through but only because they cook it all fresh for you! 10000000% recommended and the flavors are amazing

Service was good and responsive Atmosphere is good as well. Chick-fil-A style walk up and ask for a refill/order Food was not great. The quality of chicken isn’t the best. Tasted GMO and not organic fresh chicken was internally crunchy vs soft and chewable. Fries were good. But I think people are coming here for the chicken. Paid $25 for two chicken sandwich meals.

On our way in from Dallas my family and I noticed the cool signage from the highway at Rule the Roost, we decided to give it a try and are glad we did! Tender Combo A+ Fully Loaded Fries A+ Rule the Grill A+ Rule the Club A+ Shakes A+ The chicken was fresh and juicy, the staff was kind and hospitable. If you have never been you should give it a try!

This place was AMAZING! If you are like me and have a very low threshold of spice, but want to try something new, this is the place. They have varying levels of spice to their chicken, ranging from no spice to super duper spicy (they have special labels that I can't remember now). I will warn you that this food will require you to use a lot of napkins (or maybe I'm still learning how to function as a human, not sure). The best thing- the BEST THING on their menu - the BISCUITS. You wouldn't expect that much from a chicken joint, but I've consumed a lot of biscuits in my time in the south, and these easily made my top 3. (They're the right amount of buttery, flaky, and the edges are ever so slightly crisp). The cookies are average. If you're not a dessert person, I wouldn't waste my time on them.

I've driven past this place dozens of times, so I decided to give it a go seeing as I've been craving fried chicken. I had zero expectations going in. I ordered the 5 tender combo not spiced. I didn't realize how generous the size of the tenders were, so if you're just hungry and not ravenous, don't make my mistake. The batter leaves a lot to be desired. It's salty, heavy, and not much else. It has an alright crunch, but for someone who has been raised in the southern US, I've had better from quick chains. Their waffle fries were probably the best part of the combo. Their tea game is weak. It's pretty watered down. If you were to order sweet (I did not) you'd probably only taste sugar. My sauce choice was honey mustard and I definitely needed it. They use Ken's dressing if that matters to you. The guy who took my order was polite and I got my order in two minutes. Overall, I would not say that this meal was worth the $20.84 that I spent.

I waited too long to go to this place! After living on the East Coast and having Nashville style chicken in the mountains of NC and TN, I have been hankering for some Nashville hot chicken. Rule the Roost definitely filled the bill! Professional service and great food. The fully loaded fries extra hot were amazing! The Nashville sandwich was just as phenomenal. My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit already!

Solid Nashville style hot chicken joint. Wound up getting the #1 combo along with an extra side of Mac & Cheese. A little skimpy on the Mac portion but it was very good! The extra hot chicken sandwich wasn't too hot and it could have used a bit more slaw. Seems like every chicken place is cutting back on portions. Miss the days of a big ol' chicken sandwich!! But Rule the Roost is good, give them a try!!

I was actually really impressed with the food here. I really wasn't sure what to expect, yet it's not a standard chicken sandwich place. The flavoring is good and zesty. I had the sandwich with the Cole slaw in it, really good. The chicken was crispy and tender. The fries were really good as well. The staff was a little stand offish, maybe a long day from a lunch crowd. I'd come later in the day so it was busy other than one other patron. Inside was nice and clean, well kept. Good stuff, I'd come again.

AMAZING! Highly recommend the loaded fries and any of the sandwiches. Soo good. Didn't get a pic of the food until we had almost eaten it all.

FYI the chicken tenders are large. I got 5 and 3 was plenty. Depending on the spice level, honestly the Nashville hot was everything they said its flavor is on point. Now I would probably try the step down from there, next time. But, it was amazing. You can get it hotter, I am glad I didn't. The waffle fries were wonderful. Hot and crisp. The gentleman that took our order actually cared and talked to us, he was super nice. Asked us how our days was going. The bathrooms were completely clean. The restaurant was clean. It's newer so it was in good shape. :-)

I wish I had more pics.....this place is always so good. The sandwiches and the strips are absolutely delicious. Love the sweet and spice you get from the batter. The service is always good. No compliants the ambiance is what you would expect from a joint that serves fried chicken. They take good care of you and make sure you leave happy!

The the chicken has no flavor no spice at all to it and i'm pretty i saw a couple roaches crawling in the corner and i paid 45$ for unseasoned chicken it was such a waste in money i regret going

Please, please, plllleeeeaaaase, I am begging for y'all to establish yourselves east a bit more of Dallas I have been dying to have THE ABSOLUTE BEST chicken sandwich again! It's just such a far drive for myself now that I'm out the military and I'm no longer stationed by the base out there... I would happily go door to door on your behalf and sharing the greatness of your restaurant and insisting on our friends and family to go every chance they get to make it worth the hassle of establishing more locations. I would always get The Cheesy Chick sandwich in the Nashville hot spicy level. It's a very manageable heat level if you can handle at least a basic level of little heat. Even typing this review my mouth waters with drool over just the simple thought of the amazingness of their chicken here! I'll take it a step further and say it's times better than your typical Chick-Fil-A sandwich or any other chicken sandwich. Rule the Roost has set the exceptional standard for flavor in food itself! Seriously though, please build a new location out here and I am confident the customers will come rushing in!

We stopped here on our way through town and color me impressed!! Everything was delicious. I got the grilled chicken and it was perfect. Most of the time Nashville chicken relies on hot oil but the chicken wasn't oily at all and was super flavorful. The waffle fries were top notch! And the service was great. It was a little pricey but as is everything these days. I will definitely be back!

The loaded fries are the best!!! Spice level was just as expected. So tasty and can make a whole meal out of it. Drive through is super convenient and moved quickly. Great service

My husband, baby and I tried this for the first time today and all I can say is WOW. We walked in and Luis helped explain the menu, the different flavors, and what he recommended. We had a pretty difficult large order since we wanted our baby to try everything and he was so kind and patient the whole time. The food is amazing, the seasoning and sauces are 10/10. These are next level chicken nuggets

This sandwich is drop dead fire! I mean you can control the heat on it with the different heat options, but whichever option is your flavor of choice rest assured you will be pleased. Simple stuff done right on this sandwich, not too much oil in the breading, bun was stable and not soggy which is so important to enjoy a good chicken sandwich, and lets not rule out the presentation which my photos don't do justice. They do go above and beyond here and you can tell the staff loves the product, as well. They keep the environment around here fun, casual, clean, and well organized. Perfectly done roosty toasty chicken sandwich!

As a lover of all forms of chicken, especially chicken tenders, had to come give this place a try. I like the different options that they offer including chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken, chicken tenders, chicken bites, and even salads. A couple different sauce options as well. What I didn't love was the price and the fast food level quality. The fries instantly reminded me of "that other company's" waffle fries and everything else seems like it was frozen and tossed into a fryer. In my opinion, this establishment would be better as a drive through. This does not have the same level of quality as a place like The Cookshack or Pluckers would have. Still pretty good, just a step down.

Rule the Roost was really good. We had the chickie bites in the Nashville hot flavor, Cole slaw and fries. The flavor of the chicken was really good. It is more season without the oil you normally find when ordering hot chicken. I personally like both, but it was just as good without it. The service was great. The cashier answered all of our questions as first timers and was really friendly. The food came out hot and fresh. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean.

Location was easy to find, love the drive thru option. It's located almost across the street from Chick-Fil-A and like 3 doors down from Canes. Figured give it a shot, as the reviews looked good. Food: good, wasn't (wowed) but it was good overall. Got the fully loaded fries and than extra chicken tenders on the side. Lite Nashville Heat with their signature sauce. Fries were so-so. Crispy and loaded up really well. But the sauce had a sweet taste too it and I didn't like the combo of that on my fries. Strips alone were much better than on the fries. Service: doesn't compare to other places. Staff seemed in different to my being there. But my order was quick and hot, so I won't complain too much.

The food is great, really great flavors in the chicken, biscuits are incredible. The only complaint is they need an additional fryer for the cinnamon dessert, it makes their waffle fries taste like a dessert.

The food is really good. We got the chicken strips, waffle fries, & Mac-n-Cheese all of which were really good. The biscuits could be flakier, but I liked them as-is.

A lot can change in 4 years! I was excited to be in Ft Worth and return because of my last experience. This was far from the same experience. My order was slightly wrong. I had asked for mashed potatoes and they gave me fries. I cheerfully corrected them and the MANAGER said bring your fries back. Well ok. No problem but just odd. Then I said could I get a honey mustard please and she said yes it's 38 cents. I said ok and took out my card for a 38 cent purchase. Wow it cost them more for the service fee on my card than the charge. Just an unpleasant, petty experience and the food was just ok. Customer service is absolutely the most important part of a business. I just have a bad taste in my mouth now. Back to Chick-fil-A and Canes for me! It's no wonder this restaurant is empty at lunch now if they have this kind of attitude. (I will assume she's following rules in place but it was her rude delivery that was the issue)

Our first experience was great. The recent few times , food over cooked and the service , push off brush off vibe!!! We wanted to give it a few more chances because we remembered the first experience but this last one made it the last time.

Updated reviews, No Thank You. However, I really wanted to try their Chicken Sandwich! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon! Guess, what I was craving? You guessed it, Chic fil-A. Their closed on Sundays so, I decided Rule the Roost would be the next best thing. Rule the Roost will be rated with three P's. The environment was PLEASANT, the service was PLEASANT and it was pleasure to see that their still open in times like these. Simply Country with no heat for $4.99 was what I ordered. It came with a fresh warm glossy bun with a well breaded crispy Chicken Breast and pickles. It's definitely not Chick- fil-A but, it's worthy giving them a try.

The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food! I tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and while it was okay, the fries were very good. Their sauce is also really tasty, but they do charge extra for it. Since they're a small business, I can understand. It's a pretty good spot, I would come back.

We thought this place was drive-thru only due to COVID, but the inside is (now) open. We chose to sit outside anyway on the picnic benches as the weather was beautiful. We ordered, the Nashville Hot and the Cheesy Chicken Sandwiches as well as 3 tenders on the side. Both the chicken sandwiches were great, the bun held up good and tasted nice to boot. The fried chicken breast was tender, the Nashville hot is a decent amount of heat, I don't know if I'd want to go any hotter as I still want to enjoy my meal! If you know what I mean!!! We both commented on how good the pickles were. Mine was the cheesy sandwich, which comes with queso cheese, I was expecting it to be dripping off the sandwich but you could barely see it; which was sad, the bun had soaked it up too. Nonetheless the sandwich was still very enjoyable. The tenders were good, and the heat level of Nashville Hot, had a sweetness to it that we hadn't noticed in the sandwiches. However, the meat was more tender in the sandwich than the tenders. I was disappointed the sauces were prepackaged 'Ken's' and not made in house - perhaps this is due to COVID. The waffles fries were ok, they weren't the hottest, I think they'd been sat on the line. Sodas are behind the counter, so the employees do the refills for you, however though only had the standard Coke products. Prices were decent.

Best Nashville hot chicken I've had outside of TN! I usually order the chicken bites which are a huge portion and super juicy! They've always tasted freshly fried. The milkshakes are delicious and lactose free! As for the sides... nothing amazing. The mashed potatoes and sausage gravy are bland, the fries are pretty good. I haven't personally had any of the sandwiches, but the chicken is always amazing so I can't imagine the sandwiches being bad.

Came in on a Thursday evening. The service was alright, everyone in there acted like that was the last place they wanted to be. The food wasn't very hot when it came out. Which was weird bc we were the only ones there. It wasn't terrible food, but it wasn't great.

I love the food at Rule the Roost! It has large pieces of chicken tenders and the flavors are great! My favorite is 3rd on the list. Their funnel fries are awesome! If you haven't tried this place you need to! I wish there were more of these restaurants

Tenders were too greasy and even sweet at the Nashville hot level. I saw another customer walk past me w the loaded fries and they looked delicious, so I gave them a try. Then I noticed they had bacon on them. I am allergic to pork and I cannot eat bacon. I expressed to the staff I was not aware the fries had bacon and if there was anything they could do for me. The manager pointed to the menu, said it says it right there. How rude??? Would not give me a refund or any compensation. How much money is the company really going to lose over a plate of fries?? Are you serious? The manager there is incompetent and has no customer service. It's not worth it. It's all instagram hype.

I've been wanting to come here and finally managed to make it happen. There's a drive thru but was very long so opted to go in. Very crowded but got mine to go. The fries were good, but didn't taste super fresh. However, the sandwich was all worth it. I wish I had gotten too. I got the Nashville hot heat level for the number 1. I like spicy but I'm pregnant so was afraid. I'd safe it's safe for those who can't do spicy. I'll get the hotter one next time.

Wow. This place was great. Being from out of state I had never eaten at a rule the roost. Well let me tell you buddy boy, IT RULED MY ROOST IF YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN! Ahahahahha. Ok relax and sit down. The sandwich was super good, tender (like my heart), and slathered with some amazing sauce. This place gives chik-fila a run for it's money. Not kidding about that.

Food is delicious and made to order. The staff is friendly and helpful. A good spot for lunch from work or to bring your family. If you like it spicy they have something for you as well

So, after much cajoling and begging, my wife convinced me to give this place another shot. So they have improved their operations and have hired competent staff and got rid of the youngsters who were more interested in socializing than working. As far as the food is concerned, I must say it was quite good(read my last review to find background on this). I had the Nashville Chicken Sandwich with a medium heat level, and probably could have gone with the hotter one. And I was very impressed that someone took the time to explain to them that you open the fry box and fill it full,not crack it and stuff two potato slices in it. All in all, I'll be happy to return again.

Very awesome. This place had amazing fast service. The chicken sandwiches they sell here are one of the best I've ever eaten in my entire life. I recommend the milkshakes they sell here, they are superb. 10/10 restaurant, would dine here again.

Due to COVID we try to stick to the drive-thur if possible.. loved the fact tha RTR has this option. The food here was excellent, I was shocked at how much chicken you actually get. The tenders are massive, my wife ordered the 5 piece and it took her 3 days to knock them out with my help. Loved my sandwich, it was extremely good. I went with Nashville hot, it wasn't spicy at all. The coleslaw and Nashville hot spicy + the brioche bun is a killer combination. The Ken's Buffalo Sauce went well with the sandwich too but the house sauce was prefect. I crushed the sandwich but it did take me a while, it's a lot of food + fries and a lemonade. I was full and happy when it was all said and done. I really enjoyed the variety of sauces also, the house sauce was actually my favorite. Great alternative if you are looking to support local businesses and move after from the corporate chains. I'll most definitely be back soon.

Ordered chicken tenders for 4 people 24 tenders. It came with 3 sides. These sides were individual size. Ridiculous price for what you get!!! I will not be back.

Great atmosphere and quick & friendly food service. I've been eyeing this place for awhile and finally found time to visit this establishment. I came here with a friend and we ordered the #1 combo and #3 combo. These are exactly the type of fried chicken sandwiches I love to indulge - not feeling guilty afterwards for eating it. The chicken breast was fresh and still breathing smoke after I took my initial bite. Paired with their dill pickles and their Rule the Roast (RtR) sauce, both sandwiches were extremely tasty and filled up both my friend's and my stomachs. One cool thing to note is that the place gives you the ability to adjust the heat level of your chicken breast! Really cool. The combo comes with fries and a drink. Highly recommend getting their freshly made strawberry lemonade or lemonade! Iwasn't a big fan of their fries - a little bit too crispy and not enough flavor. Had to use their RtR sauce to provide the fries some flavor. Overall, this place definitely earned my business. Will happily be coming back for more

I enjoyed the chicken here but it failed to pass the test for my wife for Nashville hot. She said it was no where close to Nashville hot. Hey at least I enjoyed it. The tenders were a nice size fried to crispy perfection and very tender on the index's with great flavor and the tule the roost sauce was a knock out for me. I'll probably be back.

Should be called rule the bathroom Two words: instant diarrhea Should hand out rolls of toilet paper with each order Ok so everyone knows it was raining yesterday right? We pull up and get our nashville chicken sandos and the loaded fries (all delicious hence the 3 stars) and then its raining like STORMING very bad! So we go our separate ways and I'm on the way home right after eating and my stomach is just not sitting right with me...MEANWHILE I can't even see in front of me and thats when the gas hits. Yep. Its crazy now, just can't even get out of my own car, roll a window down, or pull over or anything and I'm just thinking if I get in a car accident they should just leave me in here y'all because if I get up or move thats it THAT IS IT! Its all going to fall out!!! Don't go here if you live 30 minutes away. Pros: food good, chicken nice and tender, sauce was flavorful, and there's a drivethru Cons: Probably have to throw away the clothes you were wearing, your car will smell like gas, you might let a few tiny poops slip out

This place is bomb. So tasty and spicy!! Located right outside the naval base in Fort Worth. So if you go at lunch time on a weekend- it'll be packed with military personnel. As for food, we enjoyed our meal a lot! I got the loaded fries smothered with queso and (I think) cayenne pepper. My little brother got level 3 spicy chicken tenders. Tough kid.

Got me a cob salad with grilled Nashville hot chicken and man did it hit the spot. Nice and spicy chicken almost wished I got 2 pieces. The salad was spot on too. Good enough to not need dressing but I'm not about to skip the ranch. Ice tea was good too. Really enjoyed my meal and it filled me up. Good stuff

Rule the Roost is my favorite chicken spot that I frequent. When I was on my Keto diet, you can get perfectly grilled chicken tenders. Their house sauce goes pairs well with the chicken giving a nice smooth experience with a hint of spice with each bite. Don't even get me started on the Strawberry Lemonade, the sensation is comparable to 5 Gum. The menu is bright and easy to read, and the friendly individual behind the scenes put me onto the Full Loaded Fries. To my surprise as well, they informed me you can add extra protein on my fries. Store was clean and well maintained, while yet with a fulfilling atmosphere. The food was so immaculate that I couldn't just end the night without getting some cookies. Brought the cookies home and the family thought I discovered a new cookie spot. Thanks Rule the Roost for the transpiring chicken experience.

Omg!!! Tinder fried chicken crispy French fries ! And I ordered the spicy number 2 HOLY SH!t it had the bite from satan him self! But in a goood way!

I go here about 4 times a month, the chicken use to be great. I would buy it and bring it home. My drive is about 30 min, the chicken I received was old or overcooked. I called the manager about a replacement and she said no because of the distance I drove. I do this all the time and the chicken is great except for today. I won't ever be back and I will tell everyone I know to NEVER visit this establishment.

Customer service 5/5 Still trying to establish itself and get on the FW radar, their staff seemed very friendly and happy to help. Food 3/5 Breading could be crunchier. Their spicy really wasn't. Decent with the flavor, but between the #6 and #1, there wasn't much of a wow factor. Based on the idea of queso and spicy chicken sandwich, that sounds like a unique power play. Thus, I think my expectation was set for a "get ready for a mouth explosion." So it was actually a little disappointing when it felt like just another chicken sandwich. Still decent, but nothing I'd really crave. I do want this place to make it, so I'll probably be back. But the fries were actually pretty good. Waffle fries with a crispy crunch. I like them more than Chick-fil-A even, but my die-hard Chick-fil-A fan still keeps her preference :P

Come on now!! I'm a Hattie B's fan and until now have had to drive to Dallas to get REAL Nashville hot chicken. The jumbo tenders are HUGE. Breading is superb and the chicken is fresh QUALITY meat. I'm definitely a hot chicken snob and this place is excellent!!
