Rum Baba is the OG cafe in the Transvaalbuurt and in my opinion still the most pleasant place to get a coffee and have a chat with the friendly barista’s. Cakes are phenomenal, they occasionally have new/ seasonal cakes but you’ll also be able to get your all time faves. No other cafe nearby has beaten them for me, so after 6 years I am still a loyal costumer ❤️

Amazing coffee and pastries! Very good selection of beans with wide choice. The staff is really thoughtful: I ordered coffee and cake just for myself, but I was with my husband, and they served it with two cups and two forks so that we could share easily. The only small thing that could be improved is the sitting area: some seat cushions would definitely make the seats more comfortable and cozy. Otherwise, everything was perfect 👌

The staff are super welcoming 🤌🏼they even remember your coffee preferences and make suggestions you might like. The space is cozy; I heard they can’t add more chairs or tables because of local regulations, but it still feels spacious enough. Definitely worth a visit!

Coffee is nice and stuff is very friendly. I bought decaf beans for home and loved the taste!

Come here for lovely coffee AND to shop for all the high-quality, at-home coffee materials including beans, filters, machines, etc. The folks who work here are friendly and will make sure you get the best coffee/pastries they have. I recommend trying whatever the daily loaf is for a bite. If you are looking for a place to sit and have your coffee, the greenhouse-esque space in the back is sunny and has cozy seating to share. The beans they roast are also excellent and reasonably priced with a wide range of roasts and options available.

Really good coffee and the barista is the loveliest. He knows what he’s doing and hr likes to converse with people. Place is a bit small, which is the only downside, I would say.

You really have to respect how much these people care about top quality coffee. The cakes, the vibes, the knowledgeable & kind staff, the exceptional coffee. It’s really something special. Worth every penny!

As we were taking away for 4 days here, the overall impression is nice, but NOT PERFECT. We had more positive impressions, than negative) Pros- Vegan treats were very tasty, especially oat pound cake with berries. Coffee was great every day (they have vegan milk alternative from Oatly for sure) Barista was very attentive in the “cafe” Rum baba Raisin snail, cheesecake and croissant are very decent Cons- Service in the “shop” rumbaba was not good at all. All the treats don’t have written notes with names, so every time you have to ask about every cake. Because of constant queue it is not so pleasant to do so, as you have to ask before joining the line, so you would know for sure that you need to stay in the line. Pistachio non-vegan cake was a disaster with soggy bottom😳😳can’t believe people can sell such “baker failure” The price is rather good, for example- 1 croissant, 1 vegan +1 non-vegan pound cake and 1 double cappuccino made 13 euro
