Rum Doodle

A lovely bed and breakfast. Staff are really accommodating and incredibly friendly . The rooms are beautiful and attention to detail is perfect. Bathroom was slightly dated but was still extremely clean. We loved our stay . It’s in a great location just a 15 min walk from Bowness and Windermere. The bed was comfortable and they had thought of everything we might need including The breakfast was lovely and served in our room. Would definitely recommend to everyone we know and would love to stay again.

We just stayed at rum doodle for two nights for our anniversary and have to say thank you for a fantastic stay. An amazing bedroom with living room too! Delicious breakfast & lovely staff. Great location for walking into Windermere. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you :)

The nicest bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. Staff are really accommodating ensuring we had a parking space. The rooms are beautiful and attention to detail is perfect. We loved our stay from start to finish. Its in a great location just a 15 min walk from the lake. The bed was really comfortable and they had thought of everything we might need including everything from dressing gowns to cotton buds. The breakfast was outstanding, served in our room. The quality of all ingredients was phenomenal. Pretty sure even the butter was homemade and the presentation was so much better than any hotel. We will definitely recommend to everyone we know and would love to stay again.

And was lovely to have breakfast brought to your room every morning. |Rum doodle is in a great location. Walking distance to Windermere, and Bowness on Windermere. Only small negative was the bathroom needed updating. But was still extremely clean.

Beautiful BnB, definitely a touch of luxury in every room and the breakfast is exquisite. Private and peaceful with superb care for guests. I would 100% recommend this beautiful peaceful retreat to anyone. Ample parking both at the front and rear of the property. Ideally located for visiting Windemere and further afield. Thank you for having us. We will definitely be back!

Tucked away not far from the centre of Windermere is this little quirky gem. The room was very clean and cosy with the usual tea and coffee making facilities. A lovely shower room with a powerful hot shower which helped take away the aches and pains of a four hour journey. The beds were really comfy with super crisp bedding and warm duvets. The breakfast offering was unbelievably good, we plumped for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which was plentiful, epic! We were sorry we were only there for one night but we will return!

Brilliant little B&B, great original rooms, we where in The Summit, lovely comfy bed, great shower however the breakfast is fantastic. Location is perfect 15 - 20 mins walk up to Windermere or down to Bowness/the lake, locally there's a great little pub for food and beverages, will definitely be back!

I booked to stay at the Rum Doodle for my partners birthday. Prior to arriving I contacted the team to request a king size bed if possible and also ask if there is anything special for the birthday.|We arrived a bit later than the early check in time and were at the door. There is available parking which made things easier. Our room was on the ground floor which was perfect as my partner has had some mobility issues recently and on the ground floor made things much easier for him and because it was my partners birthday we got balloon too!|All the rooms are themed in relation to the book The Ascent of Rum Doodle. We were in Jungle room and Jungle was the navigator in the story.|The room was decorated in a wonderful mix of modern and vintage ‘ with a comfy 4 poster bed. We had a table for two and breakfast was ordered the night before and brought in the morning at the requested time. |Breakfast was tasty and had lots of choice. We chose cooked breakfast one gluten free and vegetarian on the first day and then gluten free and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on muffin the following day all washed down with a lovely pot of coffee and some fresh orange!|The rooms are en suite and again absolutely with the added touch of dressing gowns.|All in all a wonderful stay and hopefully we will be able to come and visit again. |Thank you so much for a lovely weekend and once again sorry for pyjamagate!
