"Why we love it: A secluded stay that’s as close to a traditional Bedouin camp as you’ll get The Highlights: - Classic Bedouin hospitality, with plenty of opportunities to learn more about the culture - A remote location with stunning views of the sunrise and night sky - Authentic but comfortable accommodations The Review: Visitors come to Wadi Rum to experience the grandeur of the desert, and there’s no better way to do it than to spend a few nights in a traditional Bedouin camp run by a local tour operator. Rum Stars is one of the best. It takes a serious drive in a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach the camp, but when you get there, you’re immediately struck by the beautiful isolation of it all. Walk just a few paces into the sand and you can truly hear the great emptiness of the desert. Accommodations are refreshingly simple—there are basic cots in stripy tents and a semi-permanent seating and dining area where guests dine on delicious Bedouin fare and listen to traditional songs around the campfire. At the end of a long day exploring Wadi Rum, you can retire to your tent, or haul your cot out into the fresh air and stare up at a magical star field as a gentle breeze lulls you to sleep."

Rum Stars provided the perfect experience when visiting the Wadi Rum. First, taken to their office for some beautiful tea. All our bags were taken to the camp while our driver and guide, the fantastic Mohammed, took us to visit the Fig tree of Lawrence of Arabia. Throughout the day we were taken to various sites around the Wadi Rum until we were told to go through a canyon and Mohammed would meet us on the other side. Once we went through, Mohammed had prepared us a full lunch spread: galayet, feta and corn, endless bread, we couldn't have asked for more. Mohammed never rushed us, completing the trip at our pace. We rested until we were ready to move on. Continuing with the sites, we eventually had the opportunity to do sandboarding! Such a cool experience. Finally on day 1 we were driven to a perfect view of the sunset in Wadi Rum. Once we were done, Mohammed drove us back to the camp, where all our bags were ready for us. We were given some more tea and saw the bedouins make Zarb, cooking under the ground. It was such an amazing experience. After dinner, we spent the evening watching the stars, while hanging out with the bedouins, having conversations about bedouin life and enjoying tea around the fire. During the day, I asked Mohammed about his traditional dress and where best to purchase this. He told me about how to purchase high quality material for his dress, which I appreciated. However, on day 2 Mohammed surprised me and had purchased me a high quality emirati style dress. I genuinely couldn't believe the level of hospitality the people at Rum Stars offer! On day 2, Mohammed took us to the highest mountain in the Wadi Rum and climbed with us to the top. We got an amazing view of the entire Wadi Rum and the Saudi Arabia border. Once we reached the bottom, we were taken to a beautiful shaded area, where Mohammed cooked us another fantastic lunch. You really would not expect the quality he provided while in the desert. We then went on a two hour camel ride from our camp to the sunset spot, enjoyed another dinner with the bedouins, and had a lovely sleep in our fantastic home in the Rum Stars camp. Overall, I couldn't have asked for more. It was my favourite part of visiting Jordan, only improved by the incredible staff at Rum Stars. I would recommend this company to anybody.

Where to begin! We stayed for 2nights with 2 full days activities. Day 1. Jeep tour around wadi rum absolutely fantastic and Zaid was superb a really good guide and cooked us up a fantastic lunch in a beautiful and remote spot! We then headed back to camp which was easily one of the most beautiful locations we’ve ever stayed in! The facilities and hosting from the family were amazing and the highlight of our trip was sitting round the fire drinking tea! Followed by a delicious dinner!|Day 2. Mohamed took us on a hike and as it was just the 3 of us it ended up being incredibly personable and bespoke to our interests. He was very knowledgeable of all things Wadi Rum and took us to some fantastic locations! Where we were the only people for miles. |Again thank you for such an amazing and personal experience it was easily the highlight of our time in Jordan and we hope to be back again soon!

If there were more than 5 stars Rum Stars camp would get them all. I honestly don't know what I expected of our time in the desert but the experience with Abdullah at Rum Stars exceeded anything I could have imagined. I was a little apprehensive as I was travelling with my two young daughters and lots of people back home questioned my sanity but Abdullah took such good care of us, scaling rock faces to help us get down and waiting patiently for my 3 year old to keep up. The luxury suite was exactly that, luxurious, definitely not a 'tent' in the desert, amazingly comfortable and ideal for our family. The food was delicious, especially the meal cooked underground! We enjoyed the full day jeep tour and Sunset camel ride and loved every minute. My girls have made memories they will treasure forever. Thanks so much to Abdullah and Rum Stars Camp.

Rum Stars Camp is amazing. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying there and we could not have asked for more. We did the Classic Bedouin Tour which I also highly recommend. We had the such a lovely day. All the food was delicious, from the lunch prepared and cooked in the dessert, dinner cooked the traditional way underground and breakfast, and, as a vegetarian, I had plenty of options. Our guide was Zay (I'm not sure I spelled it correctly) and he was fantastic, very knowledgeable. He had great stories for us as we drank Bedouin tea by the fire after dinner. There was plenty of drinking water available too. We stayed in the luxury accommodation and if your budget allows you to, I recommend it. We had and ensuite, a balcony looking out over the dessert and a very comfortable bed. We had sockets for charging phones or using other devices. Electricity does go off at midnight but this was not an issue as we're already asleep. They also provided us with a flask of hot water, coffee, tea, chocolate and water. I cannot recommend Rum Stars Camp enough. Thank you for a fantastic day and night.

My brother and I spent 2 nights in the Rum Stars camp and had a truly magical experience. The luxury tents are super comfy, with AC, a bathroom and a terrific view in the desert. Food was delicious and we enjoyed a lot the good company of Abdullah during the tea time. We did a private tour in the desert with Zaid, a young and very professional guide, who could easily transmit us his love and respect for the desert, its plants, animals and traditions. We have so much to learn from you, thank you for these wonderful days.

Had the most incredible time here. would recommend this company a million times over. Our accommodations were really nice (we had AC thankfully), including these huge glass doors that opened into the desert and a gorgeous deck with a comfortable place to lie. The fireside chats at night with the owner and his friends and learning about the Bedouin culture was probably one of the best parts (okay seeing the camels roaming in the morning hours and the stargazing was probably the best part). I felt very safe and very taken care of with the staff. They also organized excursions which were amazing. Food was nice too!

From the moment we arrived Ahmed and all his staff took great care of us. We joined the sunset camel ride and all-day jeep tour of Wadi Rum ( shout out to our guide who despite being of such a young age cooked us a great lunch). The whole Bedouin experience was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute. Good food and nice entertainment in the evening with lovely Bedouin music. After dinner, the singing and dancing were awesome! I had a great two nights.|Tip: Go and enjoy the experience

Rum Star Camp was all you could ask for. The location is nestled between a dune and a rock face which is stunning. Dinner and activities are on a tent on the dune and the view is stunning, especially at night. The food was incredible, with options for vegetarians. Everything is included in the price and it's really good value for the money. I wish I could remember all the team names, but they all were so nice, I went on a Jeep tour, Our guide has a perfect English, he was a really great guide! He takes great photos too. The tents are clean and there are plenty of blankets so you don't get cold. The bathroom were very clean and had a very hot shower. I Would definitely recommend! I wish I had booked two nights, one night is enough time to enjoy the camp and the desert but you will want more. Thank you all♥️
