"Why we love it: A secluded stay that’s as close to a traditional Bedouin camp as you’ll get The Highlights: - Classic Bedouin hospitality, with plenty of opportunities to learn more about the culture - A remote location with stunning views of the sunrise and night sky - Authentic but comfortable accommodations The Review: Visitors come to Wadi Rum to experience the grandeur of the desert, and there’s no better way to do it than to spend a few nights in a traditional Bedouin camp run by a local tour operator. Rum Stars is one of the best. It takes a serious drive in a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach the camp, but when you get there, you’re immediately struck by the beautiful isolation of it all. Walk just a few paces into the sand and you can truly hear the great emptiness of the desert. Accommodations are refreshingly simple—there are basic cots in stripy tents and a semi-permanent seating and dining area where guests dine on delicious Bedouin fare and listen to traditional songs around the campfire. At the end of a long day exploring Wadi Rum, you can retire to your tent, or haul your cot out into the fresh air and stare up at a magical star field as a gentle breeze lulls you to sleep."

Rum Stars Camp is amazing. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying there and we could not have asked for more. We did the Classic Bedouin Tour which I also highly recommend. We had the such a lovely day. All the food was delicious, from the lunch prepared and cooked in the dessert, dinner cooked the traditional way underground and breakfast, and, as a vegetarian, I had plenty of options. Our guide was Zay (I'm not sure I spelled it correctly) and he was fantastic, very knowledgeable. He had great stories for us as we drank Bedouin tea by the fire after dinner. There was plenty of drinking water available too. We stayed in the luxury accommodation and if your budget allows you to, I recommend it. We had and ensuite, a balcony looking out over the dessert and a very comfortable bed. We had sockets for charging phones or using other devices. Electricity does go off at midnight but this was not an issue as we're already asleep. They also provided us with a flask of hot water, coffee, tea, chocolate and water. I cannot recommend Rum Stars Camp enough. Thank you for a fantastic day and night.

Had the most incredible time here. would recommend this company a million times over. Our accommodations were really nice (we had AC thankfully), including these huge glass doors that opened into the desert and a gorgeous deck with a comfortable place to lie. The fireside chats at night with the owner and his friends and learning about the Bedouin culture was probably one of the best parts (okay seeing the camels roaming in the morning hours and the stargazing was probably the best part). I felt very safe and very taken care of with the staff. They also organized excursions which were amazing. Food was nice too!

From the moment we arrived Ahmed and all his staff took great care of us. We joined the sunset camel ride and all-day jeep tour of Wadi Rum ( shout out to our guide who despite being of such a young age cooked us a great lunch). The whole Bedouin experience was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute. Good food and nice entertainment in the evening with lovely Bedouin music. After dinner, the singing and dancing were awesome! I had a great two nights.|Tip: Go and enjoy the experience

Rum Star Camp was all you could ask for. The location is nestled between a dune and a rock face which is stunning. Dinner and activities are on a tent on the dune and the view is stunning, especially at night. The food was incredible, with options for vegetarians. Everything is included in the price and it's really good value for the money. I wish I could remember all the team names, but they all were so nice, I went on a Jeep tour, Our guide has a perfect English, he was a really great guide! He takes great photos too. The tents are clean and there are plenty of blankets so you don't get cold. The bathroom were very clean and had a very hot shower. I Would definitely recommend! I wish I had booked two nights, one night is enough time to enjoy the camp and the desert but you will want more. Thank you all♥️

Joined 2 days 2 nights tour and stayed in the regular tent. I am satisfied and happy with the tour as well as the tour guide. The first day we spent time with other group mates to walk the canyon, do sand boarding, crazy climbing at Lawrence’s spring. We did the simple but delicious lunch, and some relaxing time after the lunch (which Im also expected because the local said they will take nap after lunch to avoid activities at the hottest time of the day). The dinner is also great with variety of food. After dinner we spent some time dancing with the group and listened to the local singing. The regular tent is very basic, literally a bed and a small table and trash bin. The shared bathroom is clean and there is hot water for a quick shower. I have nothing to complain. On the second day we drove to the southern part of Wadi Rum and we hiked at the highest mountain in Jordan. A very tiring but yet rewarding hike! We also spend a long time having lunch with our tour guide afterwards and had a nice chat exchanging our culture. This is what travelling is about, we know more about others’ culture, we respect each other, I treasured this moment with our tour guide a lot. What I think is you cannot expect luxury food and accommodation in the desert, and the camp is what I am expecting to experience. If you are not prepared to walk a lot and experiencing the desert, maybe you should stay in a hotel instead. I highly recommended this tour, if you are a hiker, you should also challenge to hike the highest mountain in Jordan as well! I am glad I chose a 2 days 2 nights tour here.

What great hosts. We enjoyed the bittersweet pleasure of having the camp to ourselves because of the current sad situation. We felt important to not cancel and to enjoy the Jordanian hospitality. The basic tents were good but there was a bit of a strong incense smell initially. That’s the only downside. The food was great. The hosts also helped us out so much when I came down with a nasty cough (not covid) I missed a lot of the activities but my wife as treated amazingly. The bathrooms were fine. Our friends had the deluxe place and really enjoyed the sunrise.

Unforgettable time and what an amazing place. The sunset was a dream. During the tours, while being guided through the desert and contemplating the beatiful views, there was always plenty of fresh water and tea being offered. We stayed for two days and two nights. The food was some of the best we had while in Jordan, from the lunch prepared in the middle of the desert (followed by a relaxing nap), to the buffet dinner in the camp with some delicious traditional dishes. We chose the non-luxury tents, just a bed, but comfortable, and the shared bathroom was always very clean and with hot water for shower. Great value for money! 100% recommend

Don’t hesitate - just book this camp. You will not be disappointed; it is an experience I will remember for ever. Highly recommend getting a luxury tent for the amazing views from the balcony and private bathroom. The food was excellent quality and the tea around the fire at night was fun and staff friendly and helpful. We did the sunset jeep tour - saw lots but detailed information from the guide was limited ( more a driver than guide). Saw a beautiful sunset to finish the tour. All in all a great desert experience and we are sad it is over,
