❤️ Food sharing IG @ jkgourmets 😋 美食分享尽在 IG @ jkgourmets This local eatery was one of the famous and popular restaurant specialize in Indonesian cuisines. Strategies location, great attraction to tourists and locals too. In fact, their foods was very similar to local Malay Nasi Padang, variety of dishes, selection from protein meat like chicken, beef, lamb etc, to seafood like fish, prawn, squid, cutterfish etc. And a lot of vegetable dishes and some carbs too. Similarly like Malay cuisine, Indonesian foods are also focused on great flavours with spices which savory met spicy flavours. It was really delicious and flavourful, especially those with coconut cream like curry or spicy dishes. Unfortunately, their serving was not so great and yet pricing was quite high. Perhaps, the strategy touristy location causing them to charge more. Honestly speaking, this wasn't a air-conditioned restaurant, yet charging at such high price, this probably a big disappointment for some tourists who already can't tolerance of Singapore hot and humid weather. As seen on the photos I shared, my plate of rice which contains of 1 piece of red spice chicken (Ayam Merah) and 2 vegetables includes of sweet potato leaf, and eggplant. This plate cost me $9. Not that affordable for daily meal as local. Perhaps once a while for craving satisfaction. Overall, if you loves local Malay foods or specifically Indonesia style cuisines. I really recommend all to try. Unless you are local who know where to find good Nasi Padang, you may skip it. 🤗

Came here slightly before noon. Managed to find seats. The queue to order was about 12 mins. The dishes were tasty and spicy. My favourite is the chicken rendang. The tahu telor was slightly spicy too with the sweetness of the dark soya sauce as based.

We really enjoyed our food. We got this place recommended to eat some Indonesian food and it really tasted like the food at home :) The belado could be a bit more spicy, but after asking I got some extra sambal.. Friendly staff as well..

Google
agree with previous reviews regarding tough proteins. beef rendang, ayam lemak was indeed tough, while the penyet was dry. tauhu telor was not bad, well made but the sauce can be a tad too sweet, making it jelak. portions were small and quality does not match the price paid. would recommend giving it a miss.

Food: best in this area. Not too salty. Not too oily Staff: service staff was polite, friendly and although there was no table service, they assisted us with carrying out drinks to level 2. But we just have to be a little patient. All is good. And this is all during lunch!!

Delicious dishes with a very wide variety on offer Upstairs AC - recommended Rendang can de a little chewy but all chicken is tender and vegetable dishes excellent

This is my first time trying the Nasi Padang with my colleagues. The food is awesome and like the atmosphere here. I would be bringing my family members to come and eat next time. The Nasi Padang is so nice that I finished the whole plate!

This place is always a great go to spot for malay traditional dishes.Their service is also very good with quick response and very caring staff. If anyone goes here have to have totry their TAHU TELUR its the best one ive tried compared to the rest! Their staff and manager is also veryy kind. Everyone should try

Yelp
Oh Minang.... I feel that you've become a victim of success and location. Long lines draw customers, but it sadly the quality seems to have dropped over the years. Todays rice was undercooked. The beef rendang was super tough. I'm sad.

Yelp
Food was very good but not hot. What I didn't like was being rushed. The chicken with green sambal was bland and over cooked, so it was tough. The grilled mackerel was amazing, and I really liked the beef rendang, it was just perfect, not too sweet like many places.

Yelp
Another part of my tourist trail for visiting friends. I find that so often tourists don't naturally gravitate towards Malay food, as they should, because they're so often unfamiliar with Malay or Indonesian food. So I bring them here. Mostly because it's convenient, but also because it's down home familiar comfort Malay food. All the usuals are good. The BBQ chicken too, but as Chewlin points out it can be hard to get a table (or a chicken).

Yelp
I find it a bit tricky to eat at Minang, because if you go too early, the bbq chicken (on charcoal!) isn't ready. But if you go too late, the queues get painfully long and folding-table gymnastics may be needed. Still, lots of tasty options (ask for extra gravy!), so bring friends so that you can order a bit of everything.

Yelp
My first time here. The upstairs area is where I would recommend sitting to avoid the heat. The usual nasi padang or Malay style food fare. I found the fried chicken tough and tau telor rather too sweet. The teh tarik was very good and service quick and friendly. An OK place if you happen to be nearby and need a quick and inexpensive bite.

Yelp
Went there since my friend always saw a long line everytime she passed by. After trying the egg and tofu (tahu telor), green bean and egg, cow lungs and chili, and beef rending, sweet sticky rice dessert (wajik), and rolled pandan pancake with sweet coconut filling, I was surprised to see the line that was there during lunch hour - the taste is not really great, the lung and rendang were a bit too tough while the desserts were just too sweet for my taste.

Yelp
Great food. The teh Tarik was the best. Friendly service. Air conditioning in upstairs seating area.
