This architectural designed synagogue is a stunning to see from the outside and we heard even more so inside. However, on the day we were in the area, all the Jewish synagogues were closed, and we heard it is only open on Sunday for visitors. In addition, there is also an entry fee to tour the synagogue but much cheaper than other locations. We still enjoyed seeing it from the outside and we were happy to see no unsightly graffiti on any of the synagogue’s walls. Good to see the local artist have enough respect not to desecrate this holy place. Hopefully, if we ever get back to Budapest, we will get a chance to visit.

We visited the Rumbach Street Synagogue on Tues 10 June 2025. Such a beautiful and cosy place. The guided tour in english was great with clear explanations . The guide Mr Krisztián Adorján who also does tours in Budapest and tours for this synagogue was excellent, he was so clear in explaining about the history of the synagogue and about how the life of Jews in Hungary, past and present . So we understood how much and how far the Hungarian Jews have come and what the synaggogue and the community meant as well as the struggles, challenges they faced over the years in war time, the holocaust, modernity, the exhausting, sad and painful traumatic experiences of building and rebuilding the community and how they overcome issues and problems. Such a strong and remarkable lovely group of people. May God bless them .

A hidden gem of 19th century architecture, beautifully restored and open to the public on Sunday. Friendly members of the local community will tell you everything about the synagogues past and present. The top floor also hosts an exhibition on Jewish life in Hungary.

Amazing synagogue. A guide inside sat down with us and spent 20 minutes explaining the history of the synagogue and Jews in Hungary and explained about the architecture of the building. We really appreciated his time. There is an interesting exhibition on a family on the top floor. The guide is called A.Kris

We visited this beautiful synagogue and were lucky to spend 20 minutes talking to A. Chris. He was charming and interesting and we learned a lot of the history of the Jews in Budapest. I would happily recommend a visit and, if a guide approaches you, make sure to listen.

I've never been to a Synagogue before. We had the full guided tour . I think the Jewish tour guide was either not feeling well or a bit depressed. It put a bit of a downer on the whole tour. Obviously the historical aspects are very difficult and I understand that. We learned a lot, it was worthwhile. The building is fascinating and definitely worth a visit
