If you stay at the Ignacio resort hotel you’re pretty much going to have to eat here. The scenery is spectacular see pic. The staff is very helpful and friendly. But the food is $$$ and average at best. See pics. I ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs sunny side up and it was hard to find the gravy. My wife ordered the omelette and it was pretty good - but the toast was not toasted, just thick slices of wheat bread. If you decide not to eat here you’ll need to walk or ride down the steep hill into town, OK for other meals but not breakfast.

So here’s the thing with this place, the food is outstanding but the service is so sloooooow, I mean SLOW - the other three parties in our area were at the same pace. They also brought out the appetizers alongside the entrees which prevented us from fully enjoying the appetizers because we didn’t want out entrees to get cold 😏 Perhaps it was our waitress but the quality of the service dampened the experience. We ordered the curry red snapper and the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and veggies.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE We waited nearly three hours before receiving our food. Despite having a reservation, we were seated an hour after our reserved time. What is the point of taking reservations if you can’t honor them? Once seated, it took an unreasonably long time for anyone to take our order, and even longer for the food to arrive—even basic items like soup. We had to repeatedly ask for the dishes we had ordered before they were finally brought out. The food itself was extremely disappointing. It was bland, poorly prepared, and the vegetables were essentially raw. For a soup, dumplings, and a vegetable stir-fry, we paid around $45 USD, which is grossly overpriced for the quality. There are far better places to eat in San Ignacio. What made the experience even worse was the clear favoritism. Guests who arrived after us—and with later reservation times—were seated before us simply because they got angry and caused a scene. Apparently, creating a ruckus is the only way to get service here. One family of about ten people received their food within 30 minutes, while we waited close to three hours just for a bowl of soup. This place has serious operational issues: Why take reservations if you don’t have the capacity to serve? Why not prepare in advance when you know how many reservations you have? Why prioritize some customers over others? If you are overbooked, why not turn people away instead of making them wait endlessly? Do not come here. Horrible customer service, undercooked food, and completely overpriced. Not worth the time, money, or frustration.

Good food. Somewhat pricey for the area, but it's a hotel restaurant and a few restaurants in town offer similar food for the same price anyway.

Just ate at the restaurant and it was so yummy. Great cocktails and appetizers. Also, a beautiful view. Cesar was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. He was so friendly and kind. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant at the San Ignacio Resort is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. In the morning we could see many birds and monkeys from the beautiful view. The outside dining is very comfortable with ceiling fans running to keep you cool. The vegetarian options are yummy. For dinner we had the stir fry with black bean sauce and tofu. The tofu is the fried puffed kind which is great. For breakfast we had huevos rancheros, really delicious. The coffee was really good too. We stayed at the resort for 3 nights and had an early morning excursion to the ATM caves and asked our server what we could order to eat and leave within 30 minutes, he let us know we could get the granola parfait which was good, lots of small diced tropical fruit and toasted coconut. I'm glad we had that to fuel our journey. The service was always top notch, very attentive.
