It was my first time at Ruschmeyer’s in Montauk, and from the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The front desk team was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond—helping with my bags and giving me a great lay of the land.||The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and comfortable. But the real magic was in the shared spaces—the expansive lawn, cozy fire pits (complete with a s’mores kit!), shady trees perfect for relaxing, and a stylish bar and lounge area inside.||The location couldn’t be better—just about 0.7 miles to downtown and the beach, making for an easy walk or bike ride. We made the most of our time here and are leaving tan, full, and completely satisfied. Couldn’t ask for more—already looking forward to my next visit!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. What really made our experience special was the amazing service. Kat, the General Manager, was incredibly welcoming and attentive. She made sure we felt right at home and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We truly appreciated her kindness and professionalism. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Review for restaurant only. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food! Our appetizers came out quickly but our entrees took forever. We finally called the manager over to let them know we were still waiting. He checked with the kitchen and assured us only 5 more minutes. It took 30 minutes before we complained again and told them we were about to leave. Our food then magically arrived. For the price tag the food didn't measure up, even putting aside the delay. It is also extremely loud, even before the DJ started up. It's a beautiful restaurant but does not bring what a restaurant should bring: good food and good service.

Firstly, the staff were very friendly and informative. They had a nice welcome note in the room which described the amenities. The hotel is also located in a very convenient spot between where we were headed (ferry) and downtown. The rooms were very nice and well-maintained. They had water and popcorn which was a nice touch. The coolest thing about the rooms is the door code to get in - meaning no key - which was super convenient. In saying that, the bathroom layout was on the smaller side — the door didn’t fully open or close without a big effort (and noise) which was very inconvenient- squeezing in and out. Outside the rooms, the property was beautiful, and the outdoor patio area was a great spot to relax. They gave 2 free drink coupons which we used and sat in the very comfortable outdoor area - that had fire pits and couches and lots of seating. It was very serene. The service was okay, but there were a few glitches that led to disappointments. We were really looking forward to the free s’mores kit they some of when checking in, but when we asked that evening, we were told they had no firewood and didn’t have the proper items to provide the kit. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was very underwhelming. They’d probably be better off dropping that as an amenity. Overall, we really did enjoy our stay, but a few simple improvements in service and amenities would make a big difference.

Google
I had the best time here. The food is great, and the shared amenities were awesome. Each cabin has its own outdoor patio, and then a shared public space with games and campfires every night. Its a convenient location and you can walk to town and beaches really easily. The hosts were incredible! 10/10 for all the staff!

Nile and Carlton were super helpful at the bar! Property was recently renovated. Food and drink were amazing after a hazy, hot, and humid day. ||Recommend Frito Místo, oysters, shellfish tower, and lobster roll. My personal fav was the lobster pasta. ||So great to have a classic MTK staple reimagined.

Our weekend at Ruschmeyers was great! Ava, Max, and team made sure everything was perfect from check in to checkout and everything in between. The room was very clean, the staff sent birthday treats to the room, and there was just the right amount of energy on the property. We will be back and cant wait for our next stay!

If you're searching for a hotel or motel with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, your search ends here. The room provided everything we needed for a perfect getaway. I particularly loved the Byredo products in the restroom, adding a touch of luxury. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful; they even surprised me with a bottle of rosé for my birthday! The cherry on top was the availability of free bikes for us to explore the area. My husband and I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
I went to Ruschmeyer's with some coworkers to have dinner. We were all pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food and service was. I'm vegan and had the Penne Pomodoro as well as a pizza without cheese. They were so, so good! My friends had the tuna tartar, regular pizza, seafood salad, Caesar salad, along with a few other things and everything was beyond delicious. The sorbets for dessert were also dreamy. I had the passion fruit as well as the lemon and my mind was blown. Aside from the food, the atmosphere there was incredible. The outdoor seating and the lights in the trees made me feel like I never wanted to leave. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
We came here for a night out with friends and were honestly shocked by the drink size we received. One of us ordered a mixed drink off the menu, and this is what was served, a small glass barely half full, with a lot of ice for $25. This isn't a martini that justifies a smaller pour it's a basic mixed drink, and the serving felt completely stingy. For the price, you'd expect at least a full glass. Definitely not what you'd hope for at that price point. Disappointing.

Yelp
We stayed in room 13, a suite, and we found a snake under my bed. It was about 3ft long. See attached photos and video. Customer service treated the incident like it was absurd that we would be distraught over FINDING A SNAKE UNDER THE BED. Details below. I planned my best friend's bachelorette weekend in Montauk, and booked Ruschmeyers. We had a Friday through Sunday booking. Saturday night, we returned from dinner, and a snake was spotted in the room. We looked through the room and discovered a snake under the bed that I slept in Friday evening. We called the after hours line (there is not a single staff member on site at the hotel) and they sent someone to remove it. The snake was huge. (See attached photos and video). It was close to 3 feet long. It was terrifying. The whole night all I could think about was how a snake was under the bed that I slept in the night before. We did not sleep that night. Since this incident happened, it has been difficult for me to fall asleep. I now remove the bed sheets prior to getting into bed at night because I need to make sure nothing is underneath them. I arrived back home to Chicago Monday, and called customer service Tuesday. I was greeted with hostility. The person on the phone made it seem like it was absurd that I would be upset about finding a snake under the bed. They said 1. Well, it's a rural area 2. Well, we did remove it I didn't even receive any semblance of an apology or acknowledgment of how scary the entire incident was. Customer service said " so what are you asking for" and I said I think some form of refund is appropriate. He told me he would call me the following day with an outcome. Wednesday came and went, nothing from Ruschmeyers customer service. I called twice Thursday, no answer. I texted the thread where they had previously reached out to me, no response. On Sunday I had the bride -to- be send an email and explain what happened, with pictures. No answer. She followed up on her email. They finally responded. They said they would give her a call Wednesday. Once they called her, they told her it was really out of their hands at this point, as I waited a WEEK to reach out. I called 2 days after checkout, math is hard for some I guess. It was the same customer service rep I spoke with the week prior. They behaved as if her email was the first time we reached out. They offered a small reduction in the total bill. She called them again and I joined the line. I laid out exactly how many times I reached out, how they told me they would follow up with me and never did. We argued. I explained that at this point. with their lack of understanding and their dismissal of our complaint THAT WE FOUND A LARGE SNAKE UNDER A BED I would expect a full refund. They denied us this. They mentioned that if we visited Montauk again they could offer us some discount on a new booking. To think we would ever stay here again, knowing their casual and dismissive response to our rightful complaint is laughable. We finally came to an agreement that they would refund us a night of the stay. To recap, it took: 10+ unanswered phone calls 5 text messages that were ignored 3 actual conversations with customer service, of which not a single "I apologize that this happened" occurred I am attaching pictures and videos of the snake. It is incredibly disappointing that Dune Resorts treated us so poorly. To treat this situation like it was something overdramatic, or did not warrant us as guests to be upset, well I will let the video and pictures speak for themselves.

Yelp
just pulled up in my $130k plus mercedes and valet charge is $20. Sorry.... you're not charging me to come into your establishment to spend hundreds if not thousands as we were a party size of 6 . FYI it's not about the $20 fee! its principal. not getting a penny of ours. See ya!

Yelp
"Dmitri" is a liar and stole our money, which he sent us texts confirming that we would get our money back after we discovered animals living in our room, a clogged sink, and dirt everywhere. There is no check-in process, nor on site management. I will absolutely never return here. I hope that this place shuts down for fraud. Two other groups of people were lounging around the "courtyard" area facing the same problems as us. Try sole east, it's a cheaper option for a much bigger and cleaner room, pool included.

Yelp
Having come out to Montauk for the 4th of July Weekend, Ruschmeyer's was the largest disappointment we had. As a TLDR: Misleading dinner reservations that get kicked out before 10pm and expensive tables requiring bottle service. It started with dinner service on Friday, we booked a reservation and had to wait in a long line with rude staff just to enter the building, followed by an additional wait while we waited for our table to clear out. In addition to that, the table was promptly kicked out before the live music started (Blondish) which was told to us after we were seated - in order to stay we would have to purchase bottle service. On Saturday night, our dinner reservation was suddenly cancelled "due to the weather", however we were offered a table for the night - the going rate for a picnic table was $1,250 minimum (10 people max). Yes, the people inside are beautiful and fitting with the vibe, but you really have to ask yourself, is it worth it? An important note: nobody can stand on line as general admission, you MUST have a table reservation, including the beautiful women who usually would be let in to these types of clubs for free. Special callout to this review - it was on 4th of July weekend so the information may only be relevant for peak Montauk times.

Yelp
What even is this place? Genuinely asking since the line was so long that our bachelorette party of 12 never made it to the inside... I think this is a place for extremely privileged 21 year olds, since the group behind us mentioned that they were heading to the front to pay the bouncer $2000 to skip the line. We waited on the long line for 40 minutes and didn't even make it halfway through the line. I was able to peak through the fence to see inside, and all I saw were a few picnic tables with some groups sitting at them. The place was not full or at capacity by any means. I honestly think they keep the long line to make the establishment seem trendy and exclusive. SKIP THIS PLACE!

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I'm absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated here. There was NO line and no one spoke to me so I stole on the side. Another group came up and they offered a table when I said we would by a table they said we were rude..... there was never 1 word exchanged

Ashley R.

Yelp
Dave Portnoy says go here, I say save your fricken money. $2,500 minimum for an outside table $4,000 for inside. Waited on line for 45 minutes despite an empty bar. Rude staff, no music, no people. This place sucks, go elsewhere.
google avatar

Aish T.

Yelp
OVERRATED. The lines for the bar is 2 hours long. There is absolutely no logic to how they let people in - you'll see 20 people exit and the line still says the same. It's the bouncers world here - At one point the guy let in a party of 5 from mid line when there were 20 people waiting ahead of them for the past two hours. People are randomly selected. Friends are made to enter individually even if they are only three people in the group. Senseless! Once you make it inside from this insane line, there is another line to get into the bar/dance place inside. Best tip - Get here, walk straight to the bouncer and pay to get in! Standing in the line for this long is not worth it.

Yelp
THE BEST food in Montauk for sure! Amazing service and atmosphere! Was there multiple times with friends and we all just loved it! The manager was very friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
Do not go there! The food was mediocre at best. They're playing the same beat the entire time you're there and they charged us 23% gratuity when the drinks were awful! We were limited in where to go because we are a big group and looking for outside seating during COVID. just don't even bother.
google avatar

Leena K.

Yelp
I would never recommend this place to anyone. The service is awful especially the bartenders. They made the wrong drink and huffed and puffed when I addressed it. Extremely awful experience considering our party of 15 was the only reason this place was "occupied" Despite the drink issue they were rude and out of line. I've never not tipped someone in my life until visiting this venue. If i could give them a -10 I would. Terrible!

Q ..

Yelp
Service is rude, logistics are a nightmare do not come here .How has a place like this not figured this out,
google avatar

Ty H.

Yelp
So I have to disagree with some of the reviews with regard to the service. I found the service here to be really good. But the shocker is the sticker shock. The prices are outrageous. I live in New York City, and I don't think I've ever seen such prices for the appetizers. $30-$40 for an appetizer. Are you kidding? Drinks are $18 a pop and are not great. I had a dirty martini that was mediocre to not very good. Wine with small pours. And the price tag, $300 for two people. On a good note, I did have the lobster roll which was fabulous. Lots of really good lobster meat. Watch for the bugs at night as it is kind of like a campground so lots of critters!!
google avatar

Kaylie R.

Yelp
This place is a scam. They hold everyone In line for hours just to make people buy tables/bottle service. Waited in line (10 girls) for 2 hours. The line didn't move one bit. The staff is so rude. Totally obnoxious place. Waist of time. Dont do it.

Liliana G.

Yelp
Checked into the hotel only to find out the restaurant & bar were both closed. Each day we were told they would open "tomorrow". First it was a permit issue, understandable during COVID, then it was an issue with their POS system. The room was great & large. But for the same cost, I could have stayed at a hotel down the road with, yes, smaller rooms but an open bar & restaurant. Don't bother calling, they don't answer.

Storm R.

Yelp
Monumentally pretentious. Though you may be in the Hamptons and expect those adjectives to be indicative of a 5 star review, expectations rapidly sour upon arrival. Save your time. Stay at home. Cheers!

Yasmin M.

Yelp
One of the worst meals I've ever had. Way overpriced. For a group of 10 it turned out to be $170/per person inclusive of only two drinks. With large parties they make you do a pre fixed menu that's clearly frozen and thawed right before being served. It takes hours to get your food and our dessert came out still frozen. Staff is unfriendly and could care less about the customer. This place is only good for an overpriced drink and that's about it. Too much hype and awful DJ/music to top it all off. Way better options in the area - pass on this one!
google avatar

Tara G.

Yelp
Great experience, accommodating and safe! Make sure you make a reservation for dinner!
google avatar

Shenelle S.

Yelp
I came here a few weekends back. We had a reservation for 8 people but still had to wait about 15 minutes. The atmosphere is nice (feels like a campground and all the seating is at picnic tables). The food and drinks were great! I especially loved the Tartufata pizza and calamari appetizer.
google avatar

Yummy M.

Yelp
Totally crazy and a waste of time and money! Bottle service is their business and they are a reservation scam. Places like this are why montauk gets a bad rap! by the way it's not on any body of water so do t be disappointed when you are sitting in a swampy forest drinking expensive drinks at a beat up picnic table.

Derek P.

Yelp
Food is horribly over priced and bland ($42 for a lobster roll with no sides !!) and service was slow and rude. When dinner finally came, the waiter brought out the wrong dish and when I suggested there may have been a mistake he told me that "he wrote it down" so there is no way he could be wrong. In reality my wife and I watched him ignore us while we gave our order. Final straw was a 23.5% baked in tip that is written in small print on the receipt. No wonder why they are rude.... why bother when you're guaranteed a nice tip regardless of the service? Avoid at all costs.
google avatar

Jenna H.

Yelp
Went for dinner despite the horrible reviews here. The parking attendant tried to extort us to let us park our car anywhere near the restaurant despite the many parking spots available. He said he wasn't allowed to let us park there, but he would let us if we "took care of him".
google avatar

Jaime C.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing. My family and I came here for movie night and it was so amazing. I got a pizza and the best tuna and scallop salad, it was seriously tasty stuff. They set up free popcorn, candy, and s'mores and lit a fire to cook em. The atmosphere is so cool, they even have giant connect four, corn hole, ping pong tables, and jenga. Couldn't recommend it more! Love!!
google avatar

Jill G.

Yelp
Never enter this premises. I have never been treated with more disrespect in my life. The staff is not only rude but discriminatory and abusive. If you want to spend a lot of money and get verbally absurd this is the place for you!

Alexandra R.

Yelp
Drove three hours to hamptons tomeet my friends who had a reservation for a table, which they paid a lot of $$$ for. I showed up ten minutes after they walked in and the Secuirty would not let me in. Extremely rude and mean!! Never will go here again and do not recommend. And had to drive back home three hours after coming here. Thank you.
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. We had the worst experience. We came here for my best friends bachelorette and the bouncers were so rude. From the moment we were trying to park our car, to when we were paying cover to negotiate cover ($40 dollars a person to cut the line which was surely going directly into their pockets). I wasn't expecting special treatment, but I was expecting that they would crack a smile to my friend who is getting married next week. Literally never going back to this place. Also, your music BLOWS. It's not 1970 anymore. Play Drake bruh.

Celia C.

Yelp
I wish I could zero stars this place is disgusting. Served me a tequila soda for $22 with bugs inside it. Asked for a new one they poured me a new one with an egg sac inside it. Asked again for a new one the bartender said it's best he could do. Disgusting gross terrible have more fun anywhere else on earth in Montauk instead of being ripped off at this place. If you come here eat before and drink before because this place SUCKSSSSS and I never write reviews. People give this place one star for long waits. How about one star for legit disease? I could vomit at what they serve you. Don't wait on line here or even bother ubering. Any place in Montauk better.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
Be prepared for truly the worst service, without apology. They'll also add 20% service and refuse to take it off because it's their "policy". Unfortunately thanks to Instagram these kinds of places can continue to operate without obligation to the most fundamental hospitality principles. Don't go here unless you're okay with getting ripped off.

Teresa C.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends and we had a great time! The food and service were amazing! Saturday night the party starts around 10pm, and gets busy! Definitely get there early and/or make a reservation! A Montauk hotspot for sure!
google avatar

Stefan B.

Yelp
Phenomenal staff and environment. John the bartender is the best bartender In the world. He made us feel at home and made incredible drinks for us. I am going to come back the next time I'm in New York City - it's worth the drive out for the atmosphere and the staff. Wish I could give 10 stars!!

Ellen Kristine B.

Yelp
The outside seating here feels like you're at a camp-- a very expensive camp. The food for the price is just not worth it. The calamari was average at best. The fish of the day was salmon served over asparagus and that is all you get for $40. No potato, no bread, nada. For someone on a low carb diet, this is great but if you're a big eater, you'll not be satisfied. Go somewhere else.

Max B.

Yelp
Think about your favorite memories from summer camp growing up, add some of the best food / drinks in Montauk and a crowd full of beautiful people. This is Ruschmeyers and it absolutely lives up to the hype. While the venue could easily coast on its reputation and location, the service is what truly shines. Step inside to the corner bar closest to the dining room and order your drinks from Alison and Paulina. They are the best bartenders I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We often show up at 4 or 5pm just to hang out with these two. The only thing better than the drinks are the incredible conversations that always get started. I go out to high-end places a lot in the city, but I have never felt so welcomed or personally accommodated. Thinking of the fun that I'll have with Alison and Paulina is the only thing that gets me through my toughest days at work during the week. I can't wait to spend the rest of my summer with them, and I encourage you to join me. You will not be disappointed!

Lauren B.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. The food is awful, they're ridiculously strict with entry to the bar for absolutely no reason, keeping it empty inside.

Michael B.

Yelp
Meal was disgusting, extremely over priced, and all round a terrible experience. Would highly recommend eating elsewhere.
google avatar

Joe T.

Yelp
Haha kookland USA this place is so whack and overpriced. The do have some nice bartenders but the crowd is lameo

Ryan R.

Yelp
Complete garbage food - do not go here. Horrible service and average food. Would prefer McDonald's.

Erika W.

Yelp
I really liked this place- the atmosphere is as expected bro-y, and the service is generally good. But as a basically vegetarian because of kosher regulations of not eating a lobster roll (the only thing they serve!!!!), I asked to order the pizza. But they wouldn't accommodate making the pizza, nor letting us order in any food.

Ramesh N.

Yelp
Are you kidding me? This bar has a nice vibe inside and it definitely seems like a place to be, but the line and way they choose to operate the process of getting in are complete garbage. You could have a table for the night and wait well over 30 min. They need to do better.

Brett L.

Yelp
The outdoor area is phenomenal. The indoor scene leaves something to be desired. They did not send their finest.

Alexa G.

Yelp
I came here with four friends on Friday night for dinner as a means of spending the rest of the night here. The minimum was $150 per person so I wanted to confirm that we were able to stay after to enjoy the bar, outside area and dance floor for the rest of the night, and I was told via email that we would be able to stay. First of all, the food and drink prices are absurd, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into and even with the prices, we only reached about $450 at the end of our 90 minute reservation (yes, we had to leave after 90 minutes). The waitress offered us a bottle of rose for $150 dollars as a way to meet our minimum. I proceeded to look up this bottle and found out it retailed for $22... After we were done with dinner, we went to the bar and at about 10pm all of the lights turned on, music off and bouncers were flashing lights at all of the dinner guests asking everyone to get out. They were only allowing people who bought bottle service and the way to decipher who's who, they were giving out red wristbands. My group of friends were able to stay because I kept showing employees the email confirming we were able to stay but we were not given wristbands so we couldn't go to the outside area or else we would have never been let back in... just an incredibly slimy and stressful situation all around. Most of the employees were very nice, I simply blame the owners and horrible mentality amongst the crew. This used to be a friendly, fun and favored establishment and now has clearly turned into a money sucking, club-like venue.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
The staff here is very rude! You can't find people this rude in the city and that's saying something. Waited in line for an hour for the staff to say they aren't letting anyone else in even tho they're still open for 2 hours.

Frank V.

Yelp
Let's three underage girls in the bar but wouldn't take my ID un real. I will never go here again

Betsy R.

Yelp
They LOVE building a line, so get ready to wait for a very long time...unless you're willing to spend $$$ on a table in order to get in. We got here at 8ish, leaving now at 9ish because we didn't move at all. We were willing to wait as long as we were moving in because we have spent a lot of time here during the summer. It's not worth it at the end of the day IMO. I think that, if you have a line to attract attention, at least have that line move so people are not wasting their precious weekend time standing and waiting to get into a backyard with overpriced beer and booze.

Jason C.

Yelp
Great spot with great drinks. Paulina and Alison are amazing bartenders. Great mixologist and even better with people. Will definitely be back

Daniel S.

Yelp
Alison and Paulina are legitimately the best bartenders I've ever witnessed. We come back to the bar every 15 minutes just to hang out with them. Obviously Ruschmeyers is one of the most popular places in Montauk on its own, but hanging with Alison and Paulina is easily the best part of the night.

Ryan W.

Yelp
This is literally the dumbest bar in Montauk. They artificially create a long line when there's no one in the place to make it seem cool. Waited on a line 10 people long for over an hour meanwhile there was barely anyone inside. This place sucks, don't come here.

Samson O.

Yelp
No. Was told we could sit outside (came early) because the dining room was "booked" got our way and got a table inside. No one showed up for another 2, yes 2 hours. There was no wait at all to get in despite how long we stayed. Forced to pay $20 for valet. Food was ok but really not a thing to write home about aside from there is no reason to go here.
