Rushen Abbey

I took my daughter today to Rushen Abbey have been few times before but was surprised to see the volunteers are now doing tea and coffees for visitors..There's a corner of the heritage centre where you can sit have ice-creams.. Had a lovely walk round the gardens we seen herbs and some very beautiful plants ...You can sit have a picnic and enjoy this stunning scenery and go round the priory, learn all about the monks and how hard life was for them in 1537 .

We had a good time touring the Rushen Abbey. So much to see and to learn. The garden tour, with a large variety of blossoming flowers to see, was a real bonus.

A small but well planned museum with lots to appreciate for the young and the young at heart

My mother loves this place so she bought us along whilst we were visiting, we spent an hour here then headed to silver Dale next door. The Abbey wasn't really for me and I love history, I just didn't get that vibe from it. The kids had no interest at all although they did like the little games barn outside in the grounds and other games on route. My favourite part though was the gardens, the wildflower garden was beautiful and we saw a huge dragon fly over the pond! The gardens are a beautiful picnic spot

Tucked away behind the trees lies this historic attraction, full of interactive and fun installations that make for a very informative and fun learning experience. There's plenty to see here and lots to keep all ages interested.

An interesting way to spend an hour and a half. There are lots of information boards for adults to learn more about the history of the Abbey and interactive games to aid children's understanding. The grounds were just as interesting, especially the gardens laid out as they might have been in the medieval period, with the medicinal uses of each plant explained.

A lot of history attach to the abbey, it's ground are well kept. unfortunately not much of the abbey remains what does remain allows you to see what it used to look like.

Interesting place to visit and informative about the history of the monasteries in the Isle of Man. Gardens looked good, too, but hampered due to the weather.
