Wonderful house steeped in history beautifully restored and furnished. I would highly recommend this tour. Guides are a wealth of knowledge on this magnificent home. Lovely restaurant and gift shop to relax and browse in before or after the Tour. I never tire of visiting this beautiful house.

Fantastic spot. A hidden gem with so much to do here.booked zip lining and archery for the teens with cp adventures and cannot praise them enough for the kids loved it, had fabulous walk around the lakes.. can do a tour of the house but the teens didn't want to they went through the maze. Lovely lunch.. so so nice and the staff are fabulous. Not expensive at all for all that you get.

Now this one is different compared to other castlehouses and estates elsewhere across Ireland ,Russborough house based on county wicklow blends intricate artwork, well renowned paintings worth millions , stuccos, furnishings from Italy. It's Ireland’s most beautiful Palladian mansions, built in the 1740s for Joseph Leeson. Inside, it dazzles with stucco ceilings by the Lafranchini brothers, gilded details, and grand rooms like the recently restored Vernet Drawing Room, which used sheets of gold leaf to recreate its 1750s splendour. The amount of golden colored painting frame are super intricate The art collections are remarkable: the original Milltown treasures from Leeson’s Grand Tours (Roman statues, scagliola tables, paintings) and the later Beit Collection, which included masterpieces by Vermeer, Goya, and Velázquez. The detail on the house tour is exemplary ,the opulence of the verner room, Libbrary Room,Bed Rooms, Grand Hall, Music Room Wooden Floorings, Walled Gardens ,Hippodrome, lake trails all adds to its charm along with the preserved Sir Alfred's film , photo collections room, travels, music etc.The exterior is preserved in it's innate form

Great place.. one of the best ones for a history escape or just an afternoon picnic. It's beautiful and offers so much as a history attraction of the house, playground, walk at the lake, gardens, forest walk, maze and lively coffee shop. I really recommend a history visit of the house as it's interesting. The staff is extremely nice. Don't forget to visit a gift shop where you can find some of the history attractions too. Extremely recommend.

A great place to spend several hours. Wonderful tour guide takes you through the house, and then lots of wonderful walking paths that lead you around the expansive grounds.

Yelp
The house and gardens are so pretty. Each room has its own feel to it, along with different ceilings in each room. In the tearoom, they served us scones and tea, which were both delicious. It was a nice way to spend time after the tour of the house. We also went to the falconry and were able to see the birds of prey. They gave us the opportunity to be able to hold an owl and have a falcon fly from a tree and land on our arm (with a protective glove, of course).

Yelp
My friend from New Orleans has come to visit so we wandered out here. The last time I was here was for a school tour but I always remember being impressed. Things have not changed. The tour of the house is a must, they have everything exactly to that period, with the decadent furnishing and priceless paintings. There is also a maze! We went for a jog on the circular strip that takes you all around the house grounds back to it's very own farm, it was just so beautiful, the view of the lakes to the left and the impressive period house to the right. We got lunch in the cafe there which was good if on the pricier side, but my coffee was only 1.80 euro, now that is good!

Yelp
Very pretty house and gardens. I have not toured the house - I think the admission fee is pretty steep - I've attached a photo. The grounds are quite nice and there is a maze that is only €3 and a woodland walk around the estate. They also have a sheep dog demonstration at the weekends. The tea rooms look nice and there are some lovely little craft shops in the stables with a candle maker, wood work, iron monger, marble sculptor and an artist.

Yelp
Took the Russborough tour this morning and thought it was just OK. The lady bragged how long she'd worked there, so obviously/supposedly she knew her stuff - family history, art, architecture. Basically she pointed to items, said x, y, z and moved on, machine gun fashion. She went on too many tangents about the little kids that go through the house tour, then ~really~ went on tangents about bankers, and botox (!) It would have been nice to hear about how large the grounds were, about the surrounding neighborhood, etc. Would have loved to linger longer in the rooms, but that was never an option.

Yelp
For a minimum of 2 weeks a dead fox has been lying near the entrance - this is a disgrace. Also broken half size lamp-posts here and there. The entrance to the grounds is really just for cars, unless you want to walk across a slippy cattle grid - difficult if one brings a young child or a dog. Many trees were chopped down for a car park - hence there is no parking in the shade on a sunny day. Big dogs run off-leash - again unpleasant especially for young children, or even dogs. I couldn't find a waste bin anywhere. This is not a pleasant place for an outing, I cannot recommend this- very disappointing.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop by if you're driving from Dublin to Kilkenny/Cork. While I didn't actually go inside, the grounds are really cool. The house is huge and there is a huge field in front of the house. You can pay to take a guided tour of the house and to use the maze.
