Russell’s Butcher & Deli

This butcher shop in Roncesvalles has such a great vibe — warm, inviting, and incredibly clean. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help, which really elevates the whole local butcher experience. What impressed me most is the wide range of products they carry that go far beyond just fresh meat. They offer house-made beef patties using their own beef, roasted chicken lunches, and made-to-order sandwiches that are perfect for a quick meal. There are also tons of frozen ready-to-eat foods, pantry essentials, and other complementary gourmet products, making it a fantastic spot for one-stop shopping in the neighbourhood. One thing worth mentioning — it doesn’t smell like a traditional butcher shop, which was such a relief. I’m not a huge meat eater, and the strong smell in other butcher shops has always been a major turnoff for me. Not here! It’s clean, fresh, and genuinely pleasant to browse. If you’re looking for a premium butcher shop in Toronto, a Roncesvalles butcher, or simply a friendly neighbourhood spot with great quality products, this one is definitely worth visiting.

The absolute best chocolate chip cookies! And you can buy them frozen to bake! Ohhh AND amazing brisket burgers, this place truly is a gem, quality is superior! The rotisserie chicken is so yum! The cabbage salad! The lamb sausages and sautéed onion sour cream dip! Haven’t had anything I didn’t like. Love this place!

Wonderful neighborhood spot with an incredible selection of spices, marinades, and other condiments. Prepackaged sausages and burgers are great, but their potato salad and other house items like pickles are fantastic as well. Also whatever they've done to the roast beef sandwich: incredible. Other than the Russell's stack it's their best takeout item IMO.

Wonderful little butcher shop with perfectly prepared cuts of various meats. There are various prepared meals, sides, dips, and from the ones that I have tried all have been delicious (the potato salad is absolutely ridiculously delicious). There are also cold cuts that can be freshly sliced - all of which are delicious. There is a freezer where you can pick up burgers, sausages, beef patties, and other items. The gem of this place is the pantry on the left side of the store. Here you will find various spices, rubs, sauces, chips, and other items to compliment your meals. The area by the register carries delicious buns, breads, and pitas (try them!!!). The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Hi I just wanted to say ☺️🥹 wow the roast beef sandwisch is like 🫡🤔 honestly the best I’ve ever 🔥🚨❤️‍🔥had🥰🥰🥰 and don’t even get me started on the sausage roll!!! I could take a picture because I ate it so fast. I never wanted the flavors to end 😇

I ordered the prepared Thanksgiving meal from them including turkey breast and thighs, veggie sides for roasting, mashed potato, gravy, creamed corn, stuffing, apple pie. It’s the first time I shopped here and happy to say the dishes were all flavourful. Turkey was moist. The mashed potato was buttery and yummy and the stuffing and veggies properly seasoned. I also liked that the brussel sprouts included chopped bacon. My only suggestion is to include a printed reheating/roasting instruction sheet in the package. Even better if you can include the sequence of reheating/cooking to make the process smoother. Staff were kind and helpful to write down the reheating/cooking instructions for me when I realized there wasn’t one in the package. So thank you Russell! I shall be back.

Really great selection of meats and spices. The staff is chill but really lack customer service skills. I’ve consistently left here disappointed. When I get prosciutto they usually leave the thick uneatable parts on it or it’s been shredded. One time they ran out of deli bags so they put it in a large meat bag tied with a knot. Didn’t say anything…. Also last time I got deli meats I asked for prosciutto and they gave me speck. Also didn’t say anything… I keep trusting that they’ll deliver wha to order only to get home disappointed. Finally I did a special order for thanksgiving placed an order in advance nothing in the order was correct. My husband went to pick it up and he ended up having piece order the order and they didn’t have parts that were listed. Ended up spending more than intended. I really want to like this place but this place does not deliver high quality customer service to match their product and price point.

I'm so lucky to happen to have a shop next to this place. I was so busy I forgot to pack myself a boring peanut butter sandwich for lunch today. I walked next door and picked up a chicken and couscous cold salad. I'm not sure what magic they do at this place but it was the best lunch I've had in the area ever . I cant wait to try some of the sandwiches. The staff is beyond welcoming. Highly recommend in the area. Sorry no photos.. I was hungry.
