Hidden gem alert !!! A brilliant café for people to take rest after enjoying a whole morning at the Whitby harbour area. The interior design is very soothing. It is the kind of café that you want to stay a little longer to relax and enjoy your afternoon tea. The location is also great. It is even near the Botham's so you can also grab some pastries and cake before you leave. I feel like I am probably the only one who had and will order an avocado salmon salad in this cafe but Jesus this salad is just peak. It's been four months since I visited that place, but I still can't forget the charming texture of the salmon with the yummy cheese and sauce!

Although the place has a nice atmosphere, I was disappointed. From the moment we sat down at the table We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order, and when we wanted to do it, we found out that almost everything was already sold out and only sandwiches were left. And not even all the sandwiches, just some of them After placing our order, we waited 40 minutes for two sandwiches and fries. Yes 40 minutes. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unsure what to do. Everyone was doing a little bit of everything.Lack of organization and someone to manage who should do what.

Great little cafe tucked away on Silver Street, the food and staff are all very good indeed.

Great food. Shakshuka is lovely and tasty fresh soups. Beautiful cakes and a huge choice of drinks. Lots of vegetarian options and very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend but be aware they often close early (2ish) in winter if quiet.

Oh my god, I loved their bacon eggs Benedict! HIGHLY recommend. Came for breakfast, everything came out quick, atmosphere was lovely and left in a timely fashion. Everything was lovely and smooth. Americano was great too.

We’ve visited Rusty Shears a few times now. Do not go here if you want fast food! Tea is served properly in China tea pots with loose leaf tea. The menu is varied but the breakfasts ( and bacon butties) are really good. They are dog friendly and when I asked for an extra sausage they asked if it was for our dog and fetched out two cool sausages cut up ready for our dog. On our last morning in Whitby we walked past Rusty Shears and our dog turned a sharp left straight into their courtyard! She is a fan as well !

Visited here today with my boyfriend and my dog and the staff were so so lovely and welcoming especially with my dog as he’s a big lad and often people are scared of him but they were really lovely with him, the food was absolutely gorgeous and the drinks too! Will deffo be coming back, thanks!

What a lovely little find this was for us. Tucked away off a main street. Lovely little place, small and cosy, with a mish mash of décor like old times. It was very busy when we arrived for breakfast, but a table was just leaving so good timing. Maybe book if you can. We ordered a pot of tea for three that arrived in a huge old china teapot. Breakfast was also lovely. We had scrambled eggs on malted brown toast, a full breakfast and toast with Jam. All very tasty, just needed more of it :) Definitely recommend, there were people waiting outside by the time we left.

One of the best meals we've had in the UK. Everything is fresh and creative. Decent wine selection and an unbelievable gin selection (101 varieties to be exact). The sandwiches are perfect. From the roast beef to the egg mayonnaise to my favorite, the crab. World class cappuccinos and desserts, as well. You're welcome to dine on the patio, which permits dogs, or in the lovely dining room.
