Google
I’ve always loved Rusty’s Markets it’s been part of our family’s weekends for as long as I can remember. Lately it’s really evolved into a must do every Sunday for our kids. The fresh produce has always been phenomenal, and we love all the new stalls and eateries that now make it the perfect spot for brunch. If you haven’t been recently, it’s definitely worth another visit!

One of my favourite things to visit in Cairns. Lots of amazing quality and diversity of local produce and people in a very relaxed environment.

Google
Great place for tropical and exotic fruits. It was my first time to visit this place and amazed to see the wide variety of first and fresh produce fruits and vegetables. Favourites are coconut water, dragon fruit and pineapple.

Most of tropical fruits and vegetables are available. Friday is the best day for buying fresh fruits and vegetables. Worth to visit. They got good Vietnam’s coffee and different smoothies and fresh fruit juice. Worth to try the coconut shell fruit salad.

Google
It’s a pretty small but cute market. The main deal is fresh vegetables and fruits that look amazing. There are a couple of stands for vintage objects and books and then food such as Thai, Korean, Indian, etc. It’s definitely worth it to go and have a look but don’t expect anything huge. You can look at everything in 20 minutes.

Google
What a very busy place, I highly recommend if you don't like crowds, go very early and parking would be easier then. There are multiple stalls, selling the same thing, clothes, jewellery and food. If you like my reviews please follow us around Australia 🇦🇺.

Google
Excellent selection of fruit and vegetable market as well as great food stalls. Top source for tropical fruit etc. Busy, bustling, full of atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. Parking on the street side could be difficult. Metered too.

Google
This market is a nice place to buy fruit, and the pre-cut mango was sweet and delicious. However, there isn’t really a proper place to sit and eat inside, and most stalls sell the exact same fruits at similar prices, which was a bit disappointing. It’s worth a visit if you have plenty of time, but I wouldn’t call it a must-see.

Yelp
I disagree with reviews saying that this isn't a good tourist destination. If anything it is a fantastic way to see how and what locals eat. I definitely realized why it is that most Australians look the way they do - they eat amazing fresh veggies and fruits on the regular! Even if you are just visiting for a few days, stop by and pick up some fresh fruits for your room. Fruits currently in season include mangos and peaches/nectarines. I also got a ton of lychees that were super sweet and juicy... for a fraction of what it would have cost me in the states!!

Yelp
Rusty's Market is a fun place for tasting tropical fruits and other food vendors serving Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, baked goods, etc. Most of the vendors are ready by 7am serving till about 3pm or so on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Better to come early for the best choices of fruit available. If you are from the United States like me, try the Passion Fruit, Sapote (chocolate pudding fruit) l, sapodilla, and apple custard fruits which we don't have back home. All delicious in their own way and for a few cents to the dollar it's a fun, cheap way to do some food tasting. Towards the back left there is a food vendor serving spinach and cheese samosas which are delicious. Overall a nice change of pace for a heathy breakfast is eating fruit in Rusty's.

Yelp
Rusty's is a nice outdoor market in Cairns that's open over the weekends. You can find lots of fresh tropical fruits including exotic rambutans and custard apples as well as multiple varieties of mangos. There are also mini bakeries restaurants and coffee shops inside. Samples are plentiful.

Yelp
I can't speak for the whole Market, but I will review on one consession. That was the place that sold the Australian Meat Pies. I ordered the Chicken and Leek pie and it was out of this world. It was baked fresh and was like the American Chicken Pot Pie and was 360 degree better. It was tastier, sweeter, and ironically fewer calories. Australian cuisine are like the quiet guys in the culinary world. Almost all the entrees use wholesome ingredients and less calories compared to American dishes.

Yelp
Great place to be stimulated by the colours and smells of fresh healthy food. We are tourists and we found a park with some persistence. We spoke to Rick one of the farmer/seller and had a great chat about the produce and growing in the Innisfail climate. There is so much variety here and we really enjoyed looking at all be exotic herbs, veges and fruits. Well worth checking out and don't be afraid to ask for a carry box.

Yelp
This is where you want to go if you want to be where the locals are! Tons of stalls in here full of local farmers with some of the cheapest, yet freshest fruits and vegetables you'll find. Lots of places with jewelry and some good coffee places as well. Everyone in here seemed pretty nice and there were good deals everywhere!

Yelp
I heard a lot about this market which apparently has a ton of vendors selling fresh produce to the locals so thought to check this place out. Heard about potential nightmare parking so I thought to come earlier to avoid it and luckily was able to snag a parking spot in their lot. Once I reached the area, it was kind of fill with a lot of Vietnamese operated vendors. They even had food stalls with Bahn Mi sandwiches which was cool. I got a few since I needed a quick to go meal to bring on for the same day road trip out of the city. Honestly I was informed that it was Mangosteen season and there were supposed to be super exotic fruits that I never seen before to buy but I only saw not so fresh dried skinned Mangosteens which was kind of let down. The prices vary quite a bit by the vendors so definitely need to scope out the whole market for best quality and prices. For my main goal of finding exotic local fruits and fresh mangosteen, this farmers' market was kind of a let down. I'm so glad that I was able to go to another much smaller scale farmer market that seemed to be all local farmers to try some exotic fruits and super fresh mangosteens. If you want that I strongly advise against coming here and go to the smaller lesser known farmer markets which open only once a week.

Yelp
Fantastic market for fresh produce and tropical fruits. It's a typical market with many different booths selling all kinds of food. I saw lychees, dragon fruit, longans, watermelon, breadfruit, passionfruit and several varieties of mangoes. The market is covered on top so there is shade but no A/C or fans so it can be quite warm and humid inside. This is the option for fresh fruit and vegetable options on Friday, Sat, and Sun. It's closed the rest of the week.

Yelp
Great place for local fruits, veggies, and friendly people. We got bags of amazing fruit here - so ripe, smells so good. And got to chat with a number of friendly people and learn more about the market. The only thing is - most of it is cash only, and it's only open Friday through Sunday. if you're there during those days - worth a stop!

Yelp
Pretty cool markets, cheap food and fresh veggies/fruits. All open air markets but bring cash cause they don't take card . There is an ATM nearby but just inconvenient. Try the crepes (even tho the staff was unfriendly) and the coconut drinks, those were tasty!!

Yelp
Not a great tourist destination, great for buying fresh produce. We went here thinking there would be prepared food and fresh produce however the prepared food was limited. Great place to visit for fresh veggies and fruit. I wouldn't recommend as a tourist destination. Nothing to see.

Yelp
This is great for fresh fruit and veg great for international variety of food be aware cash is prefered so take cash cause the atm surrounding the building is Travelex atm and charges $3 charge to use government should step in and cap charges (what a ripoff)The only downside to a good market.

Yelp
I stopped into Rusty's on my last day in Cairns (well, really I was up in Port Douglas) and I'm so glad I did! This is a pretty big market, where you can get food (groceries, or food to eat right away), jewelry, books, etc. I traveled through Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, and would say emphatically that this is the best place to buy souvenirs. It's different from the other markets. I also had a fresh coconut, which is the best coconut I've ever had! It was the usual preparation where you drink the water out first, and then come back and the guy cuts the coconut open and you get to scrape out the flesh. It was juicy and soft and flavorful. Come to Rusty's!

Yelp
Whoohoooo!!!! This place is amazing if you are looking for some fresh fruit or vegetables, also: they open at 7am and have an incredible juice and smoothie bar! I am already addicted :) Best start into the morning, especially with temperatures around 30 degree! Love it!

Yelp
Open Fri, Sat and Sun mornings. There's fresh local food, souvenirs and great coffee too. The more you shop there, the better it gets as you get to know the growers, find the organic food and taste the cooking and fresh coconut juice. I shop every week and have done for over 15 years.

Yelp
Best place to get your fruit & veg. Best for value, taste and quality. Do not bother with supermarket produce that goes off and out of date sooo quickly. Ok fruit and veg only have so long to live yes, but when you taste Rusty's market produce, you certainly will taste the difference and the produce will last in your fridge a little longer, as it is a lot fresher and straight from the farm.

Yelp
This place was amazing, tons of fresh produce and small eats stands inside the market. Great place to get street food in cairns and maybe the best spot for food in cairns. Was able to pick up a few nice sourverniers from this candle stand. Definitely recommend everyone come here.

Yelp
I have experienced better. I am not sure what everyone sees in this place. You really have to try the samples because I have bought here a few times and if I didn't try the sample before hand, it has not had much flavour. In saying that, the fresh herbs look fantastic. As you walk through the aroma from the herbs encourages you to buy them and cook a dish with them. I would have given 3 stars but would expect a little more flavour in the fruit and vegetables.
