Rutherford's Punting Cambridge

We went punting in Cambridge to celebrate my brother’s birthday, with the simple intention of making happy memories—and it turned out to be such a special experience. We even cut a small cake on the River Cam, which made the moment unforgettable. Our guide, TOM was incredibly young , sweet, soft-spoken, and genuinely engaging. He never seemed bored of explaining things and shared so much interesting information about the Cambridge bridges, the university, and its rich history. He went beyond the basics and clearly loved what he was doing. I would highly recommend choosing “TOM” as your guide if you’re looking for both great entertainment and fascinating insights into the mysteries of Cambridge. It truly made our day extra special. 🌿🎂🚣‍♂️

We undertook a beautiful, enjoyable and informative tour on the River Cam on our visit to Cambridge University through the Rutherford Punting. The scenic views on both sides of the river were spectacular, amazing and captivating. Our Tour Guide steered us under numerous bridges with perfection as he explained us various historical facts about the river and city. A thoroughly memorable tour.

We had a lovely time on the river, guided by the capable hands of John, the best punter ever. He gave a detailed narration of the sights and sounds, and we now know more about Cambridge’s illustrious history than previously! We recommend stopping by the Pimm’s punt for cultural enrichment.

We enjoyed a beautifully relaxing and informative punt along the Cam. Our guide, Herbie, brilliantly explained local history, traditions and tails from the university. He gave us information in an enjoyable manner, making us laugh and engaging in conversation. My only gripe is time seemed to fly and 50 minutes was over far too soon.

We had a great time with Rutherford’s Punting Cambridge. Our guide Jacob was fantastic, knowledgeable and full of dry English wit. Would highly recommend Rutherford’s, especially at their price point of £15 pp. Some of the operators use much larger boats. Rutherford’s boats are medium sized and more intimate.

Incredible tour and boat. Not all crammed together like other boats. Super comfortable and with a table, blankets and umbrellas if needed. Best price too. This is the one you want to book!

This was an amazing experience and cheaper than the competitors. We booked £30 for two people and had about an hour long experience on the river Cam with amazing insights into the bridges, colleges, town, you name it. Our tour guide was phenomenal. It was a bit cold but they provided blankets which were nice. I liked that our guide had a different speech/ info for the way back than we had on the way there. Overall it was well worth the money and this was the highlight of my trip to Cambridge.

We had a great experience with Rutherford Punting. We made our reservation online, checked in at the stand, and started our trip with our amazing guide, Charlie. He was knowledgeable, charming, funny, and overall a great leader. All the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
