It was amazing staying at Ruthin Castle and hotel. The Castle is absolutely wonderful surrounded by large beautiful gardens. I was able to walk around the whole castle, there were doors open to walk into the gardens at various places of the castle/hotel. The room was large with a superb view. The staff were so lovely in particular Kate that worked at the Reception and Ruth that was working at the breakfast buffet. The breakfast and dinner served was very nice too. This Castle had lots of peacocks and rabbits roaming the garden grounds, that was nice. All in all, I would love to stay here again.

Beautiful place lovely comfy bed|We had peacocks and they're babies tootling around very friendly..special mention for the breakfast and dinner girls for whom nothing was too much trouble for them .my wife is disabled and the breakfast is self serve wife is in wheelchair so young lady with nose ring and ponytail went and got it for her .also every time we arrived in the dining room the girls were all very positive happy smiling faces even with lots of guests to deal with they were a joy and are a credit to you.only one issue we had was the shower in the wet room in 118 the chair was very rickety and not safe.called reception and they had a stool to our room within 5minutes to they're credit.theyre could have been a shelf in shower as no where to put toiletries.also floor was shiny tile and when wet was lethal needs non slip floor for disabled people. All in all though it's a fabulous venue and would highly recommend it too you all.loved it

We were gifted the heritage stay and added the spa with cream tea.|Staff are all lovely. Everyone really helpful.|Room was very nice- we had the jennie suite. Yes it is a little chilly but actually got sleep it was a very good temperature. Also, it's a castle. It's not a modern building|Peaceful. Comfortable. Friendly.||We had dinner and breakfast- food was great. Really enjoyed it. Tables a little close together. Breakfast - plates insanely hot with nothing to hold them with, almost dropped it. Hot food was run out and took a while to be replenished but when it was it was very nice. |Dinner we have no complaints. Very good choices. Not rushed. |Spa - it's not a spa really. It's a gym with a mini spa. Woodland hot tubs are a lovely touch but they did have leaves and dirt in them and surrounded by flies. Shame as they are lovely. |The cream tea wasn't great. Scones are warm and fresh but very dense. Clothes cream very watery. Jam cheap plastic pots I would expect from a motel. Not a nice hotel. Tea served in a small mug you would get in a hotel room. It wasn't inedible, just not great and I wouldn't order it again||Overall it's lovely. We had an excellent time and returned home feeling relaxed. Would return.

My husband and myself stayed at Ruthin castle for two nights b&b from the 17 to 19 of June for my 60th birthday present and it was truly amazing. We have been to the castle a few times before and i have to admit that our last visit was not good but that was a while ago and we decided to try it again and we are so glad that we did. From upon entering we were treated amazingly by all of the staff and our room (Jennie) was just lovely ,it was big and very clean with a four poster bed which was very big and comfortable. Our breakfast was a buffet style breakfast in which was very tasty and plentiful . Our whole experience was very relaxed especially sitting outside in the beautiful grounds with the peacocks wandering around . Thank you to all of the amazing staff ,we will be back hopefully soon. With kind regards from Sebbie and Ray Blundell.

This place is amazing! Took my partner here for his birthday and we both loved it. Staff are lovely, castle is massive, the countryside surrounding Ruthin is stunning, the grounds are well kept and the food was really good. Probably one of the best places I’ve stayed and we go away far too much

an impressive building and grounds. The hotel is okay if a little quirky. The room i had was ok. My experience of the service was average and overall it misses the mark. Great for a stop over if you're visiting the area but not for the hotel itself. I only ate breakfast so cannot comment on the food or restaurant.

Wow! What a place. My husband and I stayed here whilst canoeing the Pontcysyllte aqueduct and taking in the local area (it's a great location and just a short walk from the small town). To stay in a castle dating back to the twelfth century with such beautiful grounds and peacocks, sheep, squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese.... (to name but a few species) wandering peacefully around the estate is both a sight to behold and a privilege. Our double room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom - all nicely decorated and located in one of the "turrets" so an interesting shape with windows on three sides. Coffee/tea making facilities and tasty biscuits were a nice touch. The history and magnificence of the castle is awesome. Wonky corridors, creaking stairs, nooks and crannies to explore, two separate bar areas and breakfast served in the main hall, which is galleried. Breakfast itself was great - full English options, plus yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, juice, a range of teas and filter coffee. There's also a restaurant and tented outdoor seating area, though we didn't have the opportunity to sample either unfortunately. If you're seeking slick perfection with 5-star luxury then don't stay here. If you appreciate culture and the historical significance of staying in such a majestic old building, whilst considering the thousands of people who've walked the corridors and stairs before you over the years, then please give this place a try - you won't be disappointed. Finally, a shout out the reception staff who were personable, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. All clearly love their job and feel privileged to spend their working day in the splendour of the castle.
