Rydges Newcastle

A beautiful hotel with a really nice feel. Our kids loved the pool, although the slide stopped working after our first night. We stayed in a city side with balcony and the decor was fresh and updated, as was the bathroom.. it was lovely even without the view of Harbour. Unfortunately, our room service was missed twice and after calling to check, they were able to get it to us in the next 15 mins. Still a 5 star review as we didn't want to leave.

Great view nice room. Actually awesome view. Unfortunately was a bit dirty as there was timy white rocky powder over our lounge. I did inform reception obviously no-one tested it she said they had renovated recently so maybe it's ti do with that. Also jumped in the shower and had to wait for towels to come up. Staff were lovely or the couple we interacted with. We definitely thought twice about returning with our kids though only because of what was in the lounge.

What a great little hotel for the price it cost. Decided to have an adventure with my kids during the school holidays and booked this place last minute. Rooms were clean, quiet and a good size, great shower and possibly the biggest bath tub I've seen which my kids loved and got lost in, comfy beds and staff were lovely and helpful too. Valet Parking easy and affordable at only $35. Our room overlooked the Wharf and the windows were thick enough to block out majority of any noise from the boats. It was stunning to look at day and night. Breakfast was included with our stay and was beautiful. Would have been great if ability to log onto personal streaming service accounts was possible on the TVs for the kids. We'll definitely be back!

Recently stayed for a conference I was attending in the hotel. Over all it was a great experience, valet parking, luggage storage, easy check in, prompt in-room dining - there is an option to waive housekeeping for a $10 discount on food and dining. Easy access power points at the bedside. Clean. Great range of pillows to choose from. The down side was I couldn't get the room cool enough and it was a west facing room. The sofa also had no spring in it so it was uncomfortable to sit on. Lift was out of order upon departure - tricky carrying luggage down the stairs, I was on the 2nd floor. But I would stay again.

We are regulars at Rydges Newcastle. We have celebrated a lot of our wedding anniversaries here, over the last 20 years. We have a favourite room, that we like to request. We love watching the ships coming in and out of the harbour from our room. The service is always good and we love the valet parking. So convenient. Happy hour is brilliant and so is the food. We hope to be able to revisit for years to come.

Great spot but don’t expect much. None of the streaming channels worked, shower head needs to be descaled. Ordered pizza on the first night, arrived uncooked, simply melted the cheese and that was is, base raw and uncut, placed it outside my room for collection and it stayed there for 2 days.

Thank you George in the restaurant for your stellar help in getting our musicians fed! And to all the other lovely staff who made our stay so quiet and comfortable. We've been coming here for years as our preferred touring hotel in Newcastle, great location and spacious rooms on the water. Thank you!

Just spent 4 nights here. Had a fantastic stay. Friendly & efficient staff, nice vibe, perfect location with heaps of restaurants & cafes nearby. Room was clean & comfortable bed. Ordered room service from onsite restaurant, steak was delicious & cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.
