I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The place is very nice, clean, and well-maintained. The atmosphere is welcoming, and everything is kept to an excellent standard. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Location is awesome! The rooms are ok but a bit outdated. It is great they are going to renovate them. Can't wait to go back once that happens. The bar is wonderful with relaxing views. Happy hour is great too! Once updated happy to revisit

Spacious rooms with comfy beds, a plethora of pillows (thank you for not being miserly with the pillows!), a nice clean bathroom and a neat little kitchenette. Our room had a great view of the harbour, and windows that opened enough to get a breeze. The staff are next level excellent to deal with, and special mention must go to the lovely guys doing the valet parking, who saw a lot more of me than they would have preferred, I'm sure. :) A1 place to stay, 100% would recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family and weren’t disappointed. They accommodated an early check in, great old fashioned service. Big spacious rooms with everything you need. Pool with a waterslide and the games room with air hockey table were favourites of our daughter. Breakfast and restaurant are wonderful too. Loved this place and we’ve travelled to a lot of spots around Australia. Great central location - lives up to the Rydges brand name!

Rydges is our home away from home when in Newcastle, we won’t stay anywhere else. The location is superb, central and within walking distance of everything. Valet parking is a breeze and gives you peace of mind knowing your car is secure. The staff at Rydges are very friendly and efficient, nothing is too much trouble and they really make you feel welcome. Food and room service is fantastic and the views are perfect! It’s hard to beat sitting back, sipping on a cocktail while overlooking the harbour. You won’t find better than Rydges. ♥️

Nice place to stay, beautiful view. Nice atmosphere, lovely staff. Rooms were lovely, only feedback I would give would be around cleanliness. The room wasn’t clean. Dirty glasses, hair in the shower, the wooden bed head was greasy, some of the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and I opened up the toilet lid to find a number two in the toilet. Shame, as the hotel itself is lovely.

Happy hour on Friday (4 to 6pm) First visit. Unexpected live music. Drinks menu seemed great. However when we ordered and were being served, confusion reigned supreme. The male bar attendant perhaps needs more training on how to promote the happy hour offerings. The menu should also state what type of wine is available during happy hour (red/white style, sparkling) then, customers will experience a far more pleasurable visit without the hassle. Also, revamping the Bar menu will take away stress for the staff as well. No complaint though on the traditional margaritas 2 for 1 price. The bar tender charged $22 plus $6 for the dark beer. Hmmmm.

Lovely hotel tucked right on the waters edge in a wonderful part of town. I have always wanted to stay here and I am glad I did. Every single staff member was extremely friendly and nice. Room was newly renovated, dinner and breakfast were great and check in was a breeze. I am not sure of the parking situation but vallet for $35 means you can ditch the car and just walk around Honeysuckle.
