I attended your restaurant for the first time for lunch Sunday 11/1/2026 From the minuet we walked in the service was absolutely fantastic. Meal was amazing, steak melt in your mouth. Dessert to die for! To top off the experience, young woman who looked after us - Ellen, she was absolutely fabulous. I have not stopped talking about our experience. Keep up the great work!!

A brilliant hotel, perfect for families. You can order food and drinks to the pool, and the staff went to extra effort to ensure my son was welcome and stuff to do - handing him an activity pack when we ate at the restaurant and giving him a plush toy whale which he loved. Food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and flavoursome. Great location, very reasonably priced. Would gladly stay here again

Very nice family friendly hotel in newcastle CBD. The harbourside suite has great views! The bed is pretty comfortable. The service is nice and helpful but they really should consider employing more staff as they are run off their feet and can be difficult to get staff on the phone from your room. Only strange thing about the hotel is there is no car park so you have to pay 35 dollars for parking per night so add that into your calculations as you really need a car to get to beach/activities etc. One of the best things is free access to the gym across the road which was awesome! The cleaners there are excellent too with the rooms cleaned really well. The swimming pool is nice but they should consider building a second pool for small kids as it can easily get crowded. It’s good value and overall was very happy and would return.

The location is great. The staff were friendly and helpful. My issue was the room, it was old and dirty! The wall by the kitchenette sink was blown out with water damage see pic. The toilet door was fifthly, see pic and the bathroom had a wiff of a public toilet!! Not acceptable for a 4 star hotel !! Be aware parking can be a pain! Rydges offer valet parking atv$35 a day! or it's 2hour max on the street 9 to 5 or $20 a day for a parking lot down the street. Im sure there are cleaner better hotels in Newcastle

A beautiful hotel with a really nice feel. Our kids loved the pool, although the slide stopped working after our first night. We stayed in a city side with balcony and the decor was fresh and updated, as was the bathroom.. it was lovely even without the view of Harbour. Unfortunately, our room service was missed twice and after calling to check, they were able to get it to us in the next 15 mins. Still a 5 star review as we didn't want to leave.

I cannot fault Rydges Newcastle in any way at all. Superb location!! I had an early morning walk up to Nobbies Beach to greet the day and a delicious buffet breakfast upon my return. It's an easy walk into Hunter & Darby streets for a night out or shopping. The slide at the pool is heaps of fun and a little train takes you along Honeysuckle Precinct for a nominal fee. The rooms were very comfortable and I found the sliding privacy doors between the bedroom and lounge a thoughtful addition for the night owl and the early to bed type. It would be an absolute pleasure to stay here again.

I love the place and the location, and I also really enjoy the musician who performs on weekends. I come here regularly, mainly because of the location. However, to be honest, the quality of the coffee is quite poor, and one of the servers is often in a bad mood, comes across as grumpy, and never apologises for mistakes, which unfortunately happen quite often.

Great view nice room. Actually awesome view. Unfortunately was a bit dirty as there was timy white rocky powder over our lounge. I did inform reception obviously no-one tested it she said they had renovated recently so maybe it's ti do with that. Also jumped in the shower and had to wait for towels to come up. Staff were lovely or the couple we interacted with. We definitely thought twice about returning with our kids though only because of what was in the lounge.
