Chose this hotel because we needed an accessible room within the city centre. The accessibility modifications were ok, but the stay was very expensive and ultimately disappointing.
There's no easy online option to book an accessible room, had to ring up and it took a while to get through.
The accessible room worked well, but only has a queen double bed and there's no room for a foldout. If the occupant and carer don't sleep in the same bed the carer needs a second room; at full price. As I said, expensive.
The carer had an adjoining room with a connecting door, which was convenient. But it hadn't been unlocked the day of checkin, and we had to wait for Housekeeping to unlock it the next day. Apparently the onsite manager didn't have a key.
The automatic door of the accessible room stopped working on the second day. When we reported it we were told it might not be possible to get it fixed, as it was a Saturday. Fortunately it was fixed.
The dining area was cramped and inconveniently laid out, with large concrete pillars making it difficult to manoeuvre a walker.
The worst fumble was the TV remote control. It was obviously intended to be a sleek, "elegant" design. A tiny unit, small low profile buttons and muted colours. Absolutely unusable by anyone without good vision and very good fine motor control. The occupant couldn't so much as turn the TV on or off, let alone change channels or adjust the volume. I reported the problem to the manager, but nothing could be done during our stay.
Overall an adequate stay. But for the price, I expected better than adequate.
